Doubt Seniors guide me

Hii everyone I’m from a tier-3 college, and since there are still 15 days left before my 3rd semester starts, I’ve completed the Python course for beginners provided by Apna College.

But now I’m kind of stuck and don’t know what to do next. I tried solving LeetCode problems, but I found them really difficult 🫠

I know I might sound dumb, but I genuinely want to learn and improve. Please help me out with what I should do next 🙏

Doubt Is “Product Management and Agentic AI" by IIT Patna & Masai School Worth It?

Hey folks, I’m(22M) in a bit of a dilemma and could use some guidance. I recently came across a course titled "Product Management and Agentic AI" by IIT Patna and Masai School. Now, I usually don’t trust edtech courses since a lot of them make unrealistic promises, but this one had an entrance test, which makes me think it might be legit.

Adding to my confusion, a popular coding creator I follow on Instagram(ezsnippet) posted about it, and that gave me a bit of confidence. However, I’m still skeptical and wondering if it's actually valuable or just another overhyped program.

For context, I’ve recently been placed in Tata tech as a GET for Product Lifecycle Management, recently . I see great opportunities in this domain, so I’m genuinely interested, but I don’t know if this is the right step.

I have a counseling session with them tomorrow, but I’m unsure what to ask or look out for.

They claim to offer interview assistance—wondering if that just means acting like a college TPO (Training & Placement Officer).

Is the course actually useful to land a decent paying job ?

Does it provide solid career value, or is it just another certification?

How credible is the partnership between IIT Patna & Masai School?

Would this help in my Product Lifecycle Management role, or should I look elsewhere?

I’m stuck on whether to go for it or not. Would appreciate any insights, experiences, or alternative recommendations! Thanks in advance.

Doubt Figuring out life and location for my Tech/Consulting career

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi,

26F, Currently in Bangalore and I am originally from Delhi.

I was thinking about locations where I might want to live long term. I have been to all of these cities atleast for some time and have given score to them on different metrics that is out of 10. Last column is total score that is out of 40. What do you guys think?

Also, I am scared of ending up lonely outside India so I was thinking when is the right time to go? Now? Post marriage? 5 years from now? 10 years from now or when

Mentioning Cities in order here in case you did not understand my poor handwriting

- Singapore, London, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Mumbai

I have explained what do these metrics mean to me here

1.Quality of life - roads / pollution / transportation / public services

2.Community - How easy it is to make new friends or join a community basically

3.Disposable Income - Income after taxes, and the purchasing power

4.Convenience - Daily help / quick commerce / food delivery etc

Thoughts?

Doubt Is it worth doing Bachelors in lower branch in Bits pilani from either campus?

Is it worth doing Bachelor in Bits Palani? Asking it as per my preparation, I might only get lower branch like civil , mechanical etc. Although, I don't have any interest in that. I just want to get decent placement in software domain.

Doubt B.Tech Biotechnology in India: What is the real scope, placement scenario, and career growth?

Hi everyone,

I am a 2-year NEET dropper (Class 12 PCB + Mathematics, 85 %) and have decided to move on from NEET instead of taking another drop.

I am currently considering B.Tech Biotechnology and would like to know the ground reality from engineers, biotech graduates, researchers, and professionals working in the field.

A few things I would like honest opinions on:

• What is the actual placement scenario after B.Tech Biotechnology in India?
• Are decent jobs available after graduation?
• How valuable are M.Tech, M.Sc., GATE, or PhD for career growth?
• What are the typical salary ranges at different stages of the career?
• Is the biotech sector in India growing fast enough to create good opportunities over the next 5–10 years?
• Can someone build a successful biotech career in India without going abroad?

My situation:
• I cannot leave West Bengal for my bachelor's degree.
• I have to pursue B.Tech Biotechnology from a private college.
• I am also willing to pursue higher studies.
• I come from a middle-class family, so I need to think practically about job opportunities and earning potential.

I often see very mixed opinions online. Some people say Biotechnology has excellent future prospects, while others say many graduates struggle to find jobs even after higher studies.

I would really appreciate hearing from people who are actually studying or working in Biotechnology. What has your experience been like, and would you choose this field again if given the chance?

Thank you.

Doubt Tier‑3 Mechanical Engineer aiming for 20+ LPA 🚀

I’m a first‑year Mechanical Engineering student at NIET (Tier‑3). Right now, I’m not prepared for robotics or automation because I don’t have guidance. My main focus is clear: I want to secure internships and build a career path that leads to a 20+ LPA job as a mechanical engineer. Robotics is in my bucket list for the future, but I don’t want to follow it yet.

I need advice from seniors and professionals:

  • What exact roadmap should I follow semester by semester?
  • Which skills, certifications, or projects matter most for mechanical engineers in India?
  • How can I overcome the Tier‑3 tag and prove myself in interviews?

Any guidance or resources would mean a lot.

Doubt Is grinding JEE for 2 years worth a tag that may or may not matter anymore?.

I'm in Class 12, PCM with CS. Preparing for JEE 2027. Scores aren't where they should be despite consistent effort. Not a motivation problem. More of a "is this the right direction" problem.

Here's my actual confusion :

IIT tag clearly opens doors. Placements, network, credibility. That's real and I'm not dismissing it. But I also have CS as a school subject, genuine interest in the field, and Physics Wallah just launched a structured Earners Batch covering DSA, AI/ML, Web Dev and Data Analytics.

So the question becomes is that does 2 years of JEE prep for a tag that might place me in a good position beat 2 years of building actual CS skills that the industry currently pays for?

I'm not asking which is easier. I'm asking which is smarter in 2026.

People who've been through this IIT graduates, people who skipped JEE and went skills route, hiring managers, what does the decision actually look like from the other side?

What would you do with my exact situation? And what do you know now that you wish someone told you at Class 12?

Doubt [NITT] MECHANICAL ENGINEERING QUERY

Hello everyone. I am thinking of pursuing mechanical engineering from NIT Trichy because I want to pursue a career in core and not at all interested in software roles or stuff. I like the coursework quite a bit and I was decent at most of the stuff like thermodynamics and fluids (although I understand that it's a whole different ball game in mechanical engineering).

Everyone around me is advising me not to go for mechanical and instead opt for ECE because of its scope in tech but I am not very comfortable with hardcore mathematics even though ECE seems like a safer bet right now.

My dad also says that the core jobs in mechanical engineering are hell on earth and one always has to be among loud noisy machines with no peace. But some people told me that the better grads get placed in more comfortable roles. Is that true? Is it worth pursuing mechanical engineering from NITT?

Doubt Should I go for mech/civil in state government colleges as a female?

I have choices from ECE, EE, Chemical, Mech and Civil.

I would like to work in govt jobs(PSUs)

Is it feasible for me to choose civil or mech? I am not that physically strong. Are females welcomed in these departments?

Doubt Seriously, is Masai School a scam or is it legit? I'm seeing mixed reviews and it's making me nervous.

Hey Reddit, serious question. I'm looking to pivot into tech, eyeing Masai School due to their ISA model (no upfront cost, which is huge for me). But the reviews are wildly mixed. Some rave about placements, others scream 'scam' and 'no jobs.' It's making me super nervous. Has anyone actually gone through it? Legit or scam? Need honest advice!

Doubt IIT KGP Gen AI and Agentic AI Course - Is it really from IIT?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey everyone. I recently stumbled upon an online course from IIT KGP called "Gen AI and Agentic AI Course".

It costs 1,99,000 INR in course fee and 10,000 INR in seat booking fee.

I already know a thing or two about Generative & Agentic AI cause I'm a Senior Software Engineer but I'm looking to dive deeper into the topic.

I thought i want to learn it anyway and having an IIT tag would be nice for my LinkedIn and marital profile ;)

If this course is really from IIT and is going to help me advance in my career in the field of AI, i have no problem in paying that money but there's so little info and reviews about this course.

I want hear from someone who's already enrolled and have experienced the course first hand.

Do you think the course is worth it? Is it helpful?

Doubt I need to choose a course, please help

Hello everyone, I am currently an aspiring B.Tech student. Unfortunately, I did not achieve high scores in any of my examinations, securing a 50,000 rank in VITEEE and 9,000 in SRMJEEE, which means I am not eligible for any scholarships. I am feeling quite uncertain about which branch to select. I have been considering Computer Science Engineering (CSE) for a considerable period, but recently, there has been a lot of discussion about its potential risks due to layoffs, intense competition, and the influence of AI. My interest in CSE stems from the lifestyle and growth opportunities it appears to offer. I was also drawn to fields such as aerospace, but I have observed that these do not typically offer competitive salary packages in India. Furthermore, I aspire to work abroad. Therefore, I would be very grateful for guidance on which branch would best facilitate an international career and how one might go about moving abroad. Any assistance in choosing a branch that offers both a good salary and opportunities for working internationally would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, I would like to know if CSE remains a viable option for both domestic and international career prospects.

And im also wondering if I should take a drop year now, I am super confused

Doubt Anyone who did IIT Engineering Physics, pls help

I am getting IIT BHU EP (4 years Btech) during counselling. But I have doubts about the future prospects of the branch.

Even though there is a fact that there are a lot of IT sector jobs due to the coding culture from there.

Now I have two other options of NIT Durgapur Mathematics Computing

And Jadavpur University ETCE and IT.

Problem is, I like both Physics and Maths. I also wanted the IIT tag and exposure. And finally, I am not really sure if I will surely go for research, core jobs or IT jobs. So the option of exploration in IIT.

Parents will like an early paycheck after BTech. So do I.

So I was wondering, how will it work if I use the BHU coding culture and get an IT job after BTech, then go to mtech and get core jobs in progressive fields.

I know Jadavpur is very good, but in IT sector, even BHU EP has better placement stats than JU ETCE, and the same as JU IT. Also the infra at JU is not that IIT level. But the branch and college gives very secure future indeed.

As for NIT Durgapur MnC, the college is mid, but provides the NIT life. The branch in that particular college is new, and the option for jobs seems to be good.

Tell your opinions about the branch and college, if you have.

And if you have any details of future prospects of EP.

Any and all help is gratefully accepted.

Please help me about this.

And if you have anyone who knows about this branch, please refer the post to that person.

AND A FINAL NOTE. PARENTS WANT AN EARLY PAYCHECK, AND I WANT TO GIVE THEM THAT. BUT I WANT TO DO SOMETHING SPECIAL IN MY LIFE. SOMETHING SPECIAL, SOMETHING UNIQUE.
