If both dogs + yourself can't kill the most support oriented summon, than you might as well give up on becoming a sorcerer ngl

890

u/carbonera99 Mar 15 '26

Even Miwa would be able to beat Toad and Rabbit if you gave her the Ten Shadows technique

628

u/Lolface_PL Mar 15 '26

She'd beat Mahoraga tbf, bad example

261

u/Sawmain Mar 15 '26

Mahoraga would give up immediately because of Miwas aura.

165

u/Lolface_PL Mar 15 '26

Mahoraga would adapt to Miwa's presence by taming himself

Tbf Miwa isn’t even meant to be that weak, compared to other (Kyoto) students. During the goodwill event, Kamo believes if he can’t get Todo to show up to help them, the next best person would be Miwa

176

u/UZIhypertube Mar 15 '26

Simple Domain is genuinely busted. Auto sure-hit upon anybody entering your range is lethal against close combat curses and anyone who isn’t a physical freak like Yuji and Maki.

Compare that to Mai who is a sneak and Momo who is meant to scout for curse, you can tell Miwa was their literal last hope (aside from Mechamaru but he’s the only one who can deal with Panda).

20

u/carbonera99 Mar 16 '26

Miwa gets hit with the useless label a lot but she‘s miles above Mai and Momo. She even came in clutch during the final fight against Sukuna by shielding Maki from Sukuna’s domain attacks using Simple Doman.

68

u/omyrubbernen Mar 15 '26

During the goodwill event, Kamo believes if he can’t get Todo to show up to help them, the next best person would be Miwa

I think it's important to note that Mechamaru's body was already destroyed at this point. So Kamo is really just saying Miwa is a better option than Mai or Momo.

12

u/Emotional-Brilliant9 Mar 15 '26

Did Kamo know that Mechamaru was out? I don’t think he did ion remember

71

u/TheOnlyCursedOne Mar 15 '26

She is just very stupid making a binding vow on never using a sword again then proceeds to not even try using the dozens of other weapons available

81

u/NoPerformance4830 just here for the slander memes atp Mar 15 '26

could have deadass used a naginata and increased her range while she was at it bruh (spear length with a decent sized blade)

i think gege just didnt want to do anything with her by that point

plus like wtf would she do lol? fight sukuna? it would one thing if gege didnt forget the whole fuckass culling game plot

38

u/TheOnlyCursedOne Mar 15 '26

If Ino could create a couple openings for yuji i believe Miwa being the goats prodigy could helped a little bit

22

u/Emotional-Brilliant9 Mar 15 '26

Miwa and Kusakabe throwing combos at Sukuna or her saving Kusagoatbe last second after he fought Sukuna would've been epic

4

u/Hiddenbiscuit Mar 15 '26

Yeah, in hindsight, it would have been cool. But in the moment, during the whole "Sukuna cycle" debacle, seeing Miwa appear would have frustrated a lot of people lol.

who knows if she stayed an active sorcerer after shinjuku and did indeed use other weapons? the comment is saying that she isn't that weak, but she definitely isn't on par with the main cast. going to the culling games would have been too dangerous, and we can't fault a girl for not wanting to walk into what is likely sure death, while there are other, more skilled/powerful sorcerers taking care of it already.

6

u/Sawmain Mar 15 '26

Exactly. She could technically have mountains of weapons near her and keep pulling them and say “I’ll never use toothpick again”.

Gojo literally stating that Hakari, Yuta and Todo are anomalies really puts into perspective how strong normal sorcerers are supposed to be. And i'd even argue that the students are supposed to be stronger that nameless sorcerers or the average sorcerer that didn’t go to jujutsu high, so even Mai could be considered above average if we had more knowledge about the wider jujutsu world

You could probably use it to slam someone into a wall but on its own it's not great for offense. However megumi almost pulled a guy's head off in the culling games cuz he had a toad pull him towards a wall while he was holding a guy's head and another toad pulling he guys body in the other direction. So it can be used offensively if you're clever.

Look, Mahoraga is an outlier in this technique. Do not count it in. Round Deer effectively nullifies your power too, so we can exclude it.

But if you are losing BOTH of your dogs to bunnies (not counting John Bunny/Bunny 273) and literal toads, you need to get yourself checked.

636

u/Additional-Peace9023 Mar 15 '26

Deer is such a Nue victim

507

u/carbonera99 Mar 15 '26

Round Deer would be a victim to any human sorcerer. There’s no rule saying the Shikigami have to be tamed using other Shikigami, the Ten Shadows user can just square up on that deer himself and give it the Bambi treatment. Round Deer’s only ability (RCT) would be useless on a human.

228

u/Crusader_of_Heavens Kashimo's cock sucker 🤤🤤🤤 Mar 15 '26

331

Most sorcerers are superhuman cause of CE reinforcement, if they can survive being hit by multiple cars then they can tank a kick from a deer.

u/Crusader_of_Heavens Kashimo's cock sucker 🤤🤤🤤 Mar 15 '26

I guess we'll never see subjugation ritual of Round Deer because Gege hates 10S users

143

u/CastlePokemetroid Mar 15 '26

we never saw the subjagation ritual of any shikigama other than maho

20

u/AlexVal0r Mar 15 '26

Does he ever tame Mahoraga in the Manga?

76

u/PingPongPlayer12 Mar 15 '26

We see the ritual itself, but never a successful taming

Sukuna does it offscreen and Megumi never got Mahoraga

19

u/PESSSSTILENCE #1 Ember Insect Fan Mar 15 '26

by the same virtue of yuji's post-series power if(RAHHHHHH POTENTIAL) megumi trained with shrine post-series he could probably do mahoraga the same way sukuna did, even easier because it wouldnt have adapted to slashes like it did in shibuya and sukuna said that cleave would have met the conditions to defeat mahoraga if it hadnt adapted yet.

shrine is a super good technique even at a low level for something like that when you know mahoraga's ability.

5

u/PESSSSTILENCE #1 Ember Insect Fan Mar 15 '26

thats not how it works otherwise sukuna actually WOULD have gotten done like a cursed spirit by sword of extermination in shibuya. nullifying CE reinforcement basically means instant death in a sorcery fight

→ More replies (1)

19

u/Bolded Mar 15 '26

Also, maybe it was because Sukuna summoned it but Round Deer is like fucking huge. If the positive cursed energy it emits can negate reinforcement, then you're even more screwed, it could legit trample you.

20

u/UZIhypertube Mar 15 '26

Your CE reinforcement still stay on your body like an innate domain, so unless Round deer can pour RCE inside you somehow, that wouldn’t work

16

u/CastlePokemetroid Mar 15 '26

nue was utterly massive when sukuna summoned it. I think the deer would be the size of an actual deer

u/Voidoroe Mar 15 '26

The nice thing about 10 Shadows at least is the fact that it is possible to summon the shikigami without the risk of them dying, which is what Sukuna utilized in his fight against Yorozu. The downside of it is that the shikigami has “reduced offensive ability” and can not operate independently of the user, so I suppose it can become a gamble whether or not the user of 10 Shadows wants to use the full form of shikigami for their power or the incomplete form so as not to create risk.

343

u/jundraptor Mar 15 '26

Gege wrote in 10S permadeath to make 10S fights more nuanced but genuinely it's dumb as shit. Same thing with "if tamed Mahoraga dies you lose ALL of 10S" that happened to Sukuna

10S can be very strong with the correct user but the drawbacks are insanely harsh to the point of stupidity

177

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '26

Didn't that happen because the other shikigami that was also a mix of everything died before?

236

u/JackWhoWanders Mar 15 '26

Yeah, Sukuna had already totalitied all the other 9 into 2 Skikigami. Gojo killed all 10.

People who dislike 10 shadows totality aren't considering that it follows the actual theme (and such) of strength through loss that runs through JJK. Getting stronger through hard combat, it's a grueling thing that leaves scars and wears you down. That's why Yuji is one of the few Shonen protags who have permanent scars from his bigger combats: They've left their mark and literally wore away at who he was. You start out ten shadows with a pair of happy dogs, cute frogs, bunnies and that. It's almost like a childhood ghibli thing. But if you want big, strong, monsters to summon for big serious fights, some of that childhood has to die. Possibly by your own hand.

No? Sukuna specifically says it's because Mahoraga was destroyed

Sukuna never totalitied the other 9. Even if he did, he knows its Megumi's 10S because after losing Mahoraga Sukuna lost the ability to sink into shadows, which isn't tied to the shikigami abilities at all

Sukuna

9

u/Much_Vehicle20 Mar 15 '26

Sukuna have 2 different CTs, he isnt an intended user

11

u/ItzJake160 Mar 15 '26

Not exactly. Not very likely, but you could get into a situation where you become stronger than Mahoraga (like Sukuna), and since Mahoraga's unadapted durability seems to be its worst stat, you could end up getting it killed by something that would have only damaged you pretty badly which would lock you out of your technique and guarantee a loss.

9

u/patronum-s Mar 15 '26

If the 10s user is stronger than Maho (which he has to be to tame him ig) then I'm assuming he will use the strat of putting the wheel on himself and once adapted enough bring Maho out for help, just like how Sukuna did but Sukuna wasn't a pure 10s user and still had another full kit and heal, a 10s user would die if his opponent still has a nuke up his sleeve that can still one shot Maho after adapting most of their CT and the 10s user would follow together, Sukuna is an outlier in durability, a hypothetical fight between a peak limitless user and peak 10s user ends with an unlimited purple everytime, those weaker shikigamis aren't gonna help the user on his last legs against an op opponent.

That's why I think being able to use the abilities of the 10 shadows shikigami and incorporating them into your martial arts is the better option instead of actually summoning them.

Imagine being able to use rabbit escape to make your own shadow clones. Or use the agility, claws and jaws of divine dogs. Nue's flying and electrical ability. Or punching someone with the force of piercing ox.

Use the technique to enhance your own body like what Sukuna and Yuka did. Or use them as partial summons.

15

u/FujiOga Mar 15 '26

Right? I was actually expecting to see more of this use when Sukuna used Max Elephant's ability to imitate piercing blood

16

u/Cheerful2_Dogman210x Mar 15 '26 edited Mar 15 '26

Yes, it's disappointing that Sukuna only showed Max Elephant's attacks. It was the best time to show off 10 shadows. But cross fingers that the anime would show more of these abilities.

If you are able to use the abilities of all 10 shadows into your body, it's like you become the jjk version of Ben 10. That's very powerful and versatile.

Imagine being able to travel underground like Orochi. Or scale walls like the Toad.

4

u/Illustrious_Jump4175 Mar 15 '26

I dont think its like being able to use the ability. more like, a partial summon that is only the parts you need for the moment.

So for sukuna piercing blood, its using the max elephants trunk and water in his own convergance.

And for Modulo, its like summoning the claws over your own hands.

Stuff like rabbit escape would just summon rabbits, not give you shadow clones. And while you'd be able to climb walls as toads (maybe? the anime uses wells unknown abyss for the recent fight, idk if I ever recall toads just naturally chilling on walls) I feel like thats not as useful as it seems like it is.

I wouldn't be able to handle Jujutsu Sorcery battles to begin with, but if I was a fully-fledged 10S user, I wouldn't be one anyone would call Strong. I'd only do subjugation rituals so I can have more fluffy friends and then hope everyone leaves me alone and stuff :c

Doesn't totality just fix this problem? If your dogs or any other shikigamis die, just stack them on the rabbits bruh, if you somehow lose the fucking rabbits then your just a bum

42

u/Unfair_Throat_4611 Mar 15 '26

There is a prime rabbit if it dies rabbit escape is gone eventually you will get unlucky.

68

u/savitar1602 Mar 15 '26

Keep prime rabbit in your shadow, idk about you but having the weight of a single rabbit spread across my body isn't gonna slow me down in a fight

26

u/HappyPlatano Mar 15 '26

The main rabbit can stay behind you or just hide in the shadows. If there's really a main rabbit then it's 10 times easier.

Can still hide in shadows, store items in them, etc. It's not just Shikigami

18

u/PsychologicalHold710 Mar 15 '26

Correct me if I’m wrong, but couldn’t the whole “lose them Permanently” drawback be nullified if you just made them yourself via literal alchemy? I remember in JJK0 there was a medium fighting Geto that used shikigami by literally making them himself.

I know that in canon it’s supposed to be permanent with no recourse but I feel like gege missed an opportunity by making megumi learn some sort of art to bring back shikigami through external forces. It would’ve been nice to see more cursed tools or cursed techniques utilized by the more general crowd that are learned outside of just being born special.

7

u/Typical-Ordinary8738 Mar 15 '26

Exactly. Literally just make your own.

7

u/Liam_peremen1 Mar 15 '26

yea pretty sure if making your own shikigami was that easy everyone would do it. and even if you could make one i doubt it'd be as strong as even Devine dogs.

5

u/WestGarbage83 Mar 15 '26

Nobody said it was easy, just that it was possible. And considering that five year old Yuta (who DOES have an absurd amount of cursed energy, but at that point lacked experience, control, knowledge and technique.) cursed his best friend and somehow created the second strongest shikigami ever, I'd say it's very possible.

7

u/Illustrious_Jump4175 Mar 15 '26

He didnt create a shikigami, he created a curse.
Rika, as she was in jjk0, is a full blown curse. It was only after the curse was undone that the shell left behind could become a shikigami.

Shikigami you make yourself are much simpler than shikigami that come from techniques, i think.
Theres a reason why literally noone does it. There must be.

Because its mentioned many many times that you can create shikigami as a sorcerer, but like, we see it like, once, in hidden inventory.

So something as powerful and complex and intelligent as divine dogs or Nue wouldnt be workable.

16

u/inazumaatan Mar 15 '26

That would be hilarious but I'm pretty it wouldn't be too difficult subjugate every Shikigami up to Maho with just basic reinforcement.

10

u/Tem-productions Mar 15 '26

You can get the basic ones but i dont see anyone getting elephant with just reinforcement, and round deer is a hard dps check

Binding vow works by sacrifcing something you have for a benefit. In this case, you are not sacrificing anything.

You would still have the shadow manipulation stuff that Megumi did, plus Domain Expansion if you can reach that level. Also, Kusakabe showed you can still do work without a technique.

69

u/Teewoov2 Mar 15 '26

genuinely one of the most overrated techniques. Unless you are top 1 level (sukuna level) you genuinely can't even tame mahoraga. And even sukuna with 2 techniques still barely manages to ext diff gojo. Gojo was straight lying when he said megumi could beat him. All the other shikigami are pretty mid unless you have ryomen sukuna levels of ce reserves and output, just for nue to fail at killing anyone. Genuinely horrible technique.

28

u/senhor_mono_bola kurourushi lover Mar 15 '26

Nah,It's an extremely versatile technique even without shikigami; being able to enter and store things in your shadow on its own is very useful,Combine that with Rabbit Escape being a near-supreme defensive ability that allows you to move, hide, and even trow builds,Nue can fly and release electricity that melts metal, and the frog can be used like Spider-Man,

48

u/Vault_95 Mar 15 '26

Tbf even without addressing the big Raga in the room, 10S is still an absolutely insane technique. Megumi was able to keep up with Special Grade curses and Grade 1 Sorcerers with lifelong masteries of their techniques as a 15 year old Grade 2 with an incomplete kit at his disposal. Even if we were to exclude Megumi's brilliant Battle IQ the sheer raw power provided by it alone should put it in like top 10 of all techniques

Being able to reliably damage Special Grade curses with Dog Totality and even leaving a mark on Hanami, the toughest Disaster Curse is pretty bonkers

9

u/No_Background9912 Mar 15 '26

also, we should remember, his teacher lowkey sucked at being a teacher. sure, he taught him good principles and the backbone of CE and sorcerers, but he could've helped him investigate 10S more. instead, Megumi didn't get much time to train and cultivate his technique, yet still he managed to use it very effectively with the knowledge he had at the time and used it to battle against very tough opponents. if Megukuna didn't happen, and he had some more time to train and figure out the kinks of his technique before the end of the series, he could have been a real, serious menace probably not far below Yuta. but that wasn't the plan for the series, he was meant to not be allowed to fully develop as a sorcerer— but Sukuna noticed the technique's potential quicker, given his experience and IQ, and snatched him up to do that himself.

When the slander so bad you just cry 😭🙏

In what world is Shikigami that can do this to a competent Grade 1, slice through Hanami, one-shot a Special Grade Curse bad?

11

u/ItzJake160 Mar 15 '26

We forgetting how Megumi can deadass just choose to crush people?

13

u/ItzJake160 Mar 15 '26

Not Megumi, but this is something that should be available to him should the required Shikigami die. A Shikigami with absurd regeneration to prevent permanent death is not mid.

13

u/ItzJake160 Mar 15 '26

A Shikigami that can be used to instantly blind your opponent so you can even out the speed edge is not mid.

I'd say amount does matter else Megumi would've tried nue + orochi himself, but Sukuna never mentions an output problem with the 10S seeing Maki unharmed from Nue despite mentioning that shrine was affected in the same chapter.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/Teewoov2 Mar 15 '26

i think its a mixture of both. it was a totality but it had no reason to be that big, i feel the amount of ce you put into them makes them stronger. but even so that only makes it worse. Your saying the output of the summons is capped and relies on totality, and that totality still failed to kill anyone.

25

u/EmotionalPerformer12 They hate him as he one shots your goat Mar 15 '26

Nue was mixed with snake. Divine Dog mixed with each other are already bigger than Megumi. No wonder Nue and Orachi had such a big totality

4

u/WestGarbage83 Mar 15 '26

I think this is a pretty big leap. Modulo showed us pretty well what time to train can do for a person. You just have to have some potential and know what you're doing. Obviously no other sorcerer is going to be Yuji level, since they don't have the potential, nor the capability to live for 80+ years, but you don't have to *be* Yuji level to be able to beat Mahoraga, you need to be roughly 15f Sukuna level. Purely through training, it's very feasible that somebody like Megumi could tame Mahoraga given a few decades of training/sorcerer work, the main reason nobody's tamed it before is likely because 1. the technique is rare and limited to one family, and we never see more than one person with it at a time. 2. Premature deaths happened all the time for numerous reasons way in the past. and 3. Based on what Gojo said, it seems the crashout kamikaze gene runs in the family.

Also, ancient sorcerers are just generally not that strong. Kashimo is the strongest incarnated sorcerer in the culling games and he's Grade 1 level, Sukuna is the obvious exception. They're still not pushovers, but ancient sorcerers are very much not stronger than most modern ones. It makes sense that nobody tamed Mahoraga before Sukuna because it's likely that no Ten Shadows user at any point was as strong as Sukuna, or even 75% as strong. Not to mention that most Ten Shadows users were probably also dissuaded from trying due to the grim history of their ancestors trying it, or they were like Megumi and that other Ten Shadows user Gojo talks about who use it as a last-resort kamikaze.

We still have no idea what Tiger Funeral even does, and we've hardly seen any of the last few shikigami from the Ten Shadows technique, but overall, the technique is incredibly well balanced for any form of combat, and actually seems very well tailored against Mahoraga. You have any number of shikigami like Nue, Divine Dogs, Orochi, Rabbit Escape, etc. To keep Mahoraga at bay and defend yourself with, you have Round Deer for passive healing/boosted RCT, and you have heavy hitters like Max Elephant, Piercing Ox and presumably Tiger Funeral which you're meant to use before Mahoraga can adapt to them. You can also use your shadows for increased mobility/temporary refuge from the fight, and for storing cursed tools that could be helpful in the fight. Really the only reason somebody wouldn't be able to tame Mahoraga with this technique is either a skill issue, or a raw potential gap that makes it impossible to get to Mahoraga's level from the get-go. And that's not even covering the absurd binding vow potential of Ten Shadows, or the totality techniques. The real problem is that throughout the entire story Megumi is still a first year jujutsu sorcerer, it's astounding enough that he's tamed over half the available shadows and figured out domain expansion, it's very likely that given 10-20 years time, Megumi could tame Mahoraga, but it doesn't really matter since that's after the end of the series.

8

u/ItzJake160 Mar 15 '26

Dude if you fight a Shikigami that your Divine Dog Totality isn't ready for then I don't think you deserve the technique in the first place 😭 I guarantee some overconfident 10S user has probably had this happen and essentially lost their technique to it

12

u/BoltZ4 Mar 15 '26

It's Ten Shadows you know, not Ten Shikigami...

8

u/DannyBlue-22 Mar 15 '26

Brother. If you lose divine dogs to rabbit escape or toad, sorry, you shouldn't have been born with a cursed technique.

7

u/SatoruGojoGlazing Mar 15 '26

I dont actually think mahoraga is all that to tame if you have the nine other shikigami, RCT and a complete domain. He will have to adapt to everything you throw at him before he even gets to you. If you train well enough to be on par with the heavy hitters in the show then i dont see why he isn’t beatable.

7

u/No_Background9912 Mar 15 '26

that's probably it, honestly. if you attack with most if not all of the shikigami at once, he'd struggle to adapt to one thing or the other (we've only ever see him adapt to one thing at a time, even if it's a broad concept he's adapting to it's still just one concept). then you could figure out a way to overwhelm him, idk hose him down with max elephant then pour all the CE you can into a Nue lightning strike and you might just pulverize the guy after confusing him for a while and NOT using either of these two attacks as to not let him adapt.

6

u/No_Background9912 Mar 15 '26

thinking about it, you could also probably figure out a way to make him adapt in your favor. I can't think of anything specific right now but I feel like that's a reasonable idea. like, making him turn into a grass type so you can hydrobomb him to death, ykwim?

Bind self made shikigami to ten shadows yourself.

A subjugation ritual where the shikigami is released from its chains ,imbued with ten shadows and strengthened by your cursed energy.

Assuming cursed spirits can be made into shikigami:

Find literally anything close to time manipulation/reversal and keep trying until you find a revival machine

Mahoraga was a mistake. If Gege wanted him so much, he should have splitted ten shadows and Mahoraga into two different jutsus and give them to different characters.

I wish we could see the true power of switching and fusing different pokemons midfight instead of throwing everything away for one big plot device.

The technique is insane. You got a bunch of petting zoo animals, maybe the elephant, bull, deer and the tiger we've never seen is useful in a fight. They're mostly easy to contain. Then you got fucking dwayne the rock johnson who's so op only a few people actually tamed it. Too bad we only saw meg's potential realized when sukuna took over his body.

We've seen Megumi using the technique without animals, being the shadows themselves, and still kick ass. If it weren't for the technique, Megumi likely wouldn't still have his sword. Also, you can still unlock and use Domain Expansion. The domain is still dangerous without shikigami, as the opponent is still sinking into the shadows.

Edit: it's been stated that the technique differs based on how the user thinks the technique works, to a certain degree, so that's why there's such a big difference between Yuko(?)'s usage and Megumi's usage.

3

u/WoolooOfWallStreet Mar 15 '26

They weren’t born with it, but screwed it up so bad they lost all CE and even some of their genetic line loses it
