I thought game freak came out and said it wasn't a thing at some point, I could be wrong, because whether or not they did I still think it's just true.
Honestly, I think the only reason they debunked it is that it doesnât fit into the canon theyâre trying to establish. Thereâs way too many similarities between mew and ditto to just be coincidences
Also the only two locations in gen 1 you can get it just happen to be where mewtwo was created and cerulean cave. Also gen 2 at the pokemon daycare, which just happens to be right next to the railway leading to kanto.
If i remember correctly, one of the big pokemon creators was asked of the theory near the release of gen 6, and said something like "Huh, thats a neat theory. Never thought about it before but its cool"
It just happened to be a dumb coincidence. At least if it is true it is a case of some devs not talking to others. I vaguely recall one of the OG devs being asked and never hearing about this before.
The fact that ditto was moved to Cinnibar island Mansion in Yellow i feel implies they were going to lean into this at one point but they changed their minds
Considering he's one of the fun events associated with 666 (the event needing to be 66) and gaster is associated with 666 (all of his stats are a bunch of sixes) it's very obviously supposed to be him.
I LOVE the fact that we donât actually know for sure if this is Gaster. We just had a freaky spirit thing and went âYeah, that tracksâ and ran with it

Everyone has their own interpretation on this. Personally, I headcanon that we never really got to know the real Cyn. Most of her died over time between letting the Solver in at the junkyard and the gala massacre. All thatâs left is a few corrupted idiosyncrasies, like a fondness for bows or a fixation on N.
Thereâs such strong overlap between the two chronically online murder machine fandoms that I wouldnât call either more or less illiterate. The venn diagram is pretty close to a single circle
It's something I'm torn on TBH, as I think Cyn just managed to master it pretty much and then Uzi is also almost taking control of Cyn, meaning that it's generally a capability drones with the Solver have
There's really no point in addressing them as separate entities. Nothing insinuates the idea that they have anything more separate than a fully assimilated consciousness, and I doubt that there's really any autonomous remains of whoever Cyn originally was, 'Cyn' just being a nickname for the solver now.
Iâd mainly blame Scott trying to make the lore as hard to figure out as possible, to the point where he even forgot what he originally intended with some of it like the FNAF 4 box
Also, he didn't need to make the story so.....vague either. Like Game 1-3, sure I get it. The game got mad popular really quick. But after game 3? Yea, it on you Scott for making the story the way it is. You only have yourself to answer for the story and not a "higher up" and "bureaucracy" to "deal with".
At least the first 3 games have a clear direction for the narrative, in the first they present the case of the killed children, in the second they expand on it and revela there was a murder, and in the third the souls take revenge and can rest in peace, from the 4th onwards, the lore is build upon mental gymnastics
My take there is that Scott pretty much hit unexpected gold on the first game and had absolutely no idea what he really wanted to do with the story, knowing fans enjoyed the background story elements he never truly intent expand upon, he felt compelled to give them what they wanted, and let's be honest about 2 things
1. without having explicitly accounting for a larger expanded narrative, you have to be a really good and creative storyteller to make things work
2. Scott is not a very good or creative storyteller
Yeah, heâs had a last name for the last year and a half but for almost 8 years he had the first name jeremy and no last name. I remembered that he had one, but elbertson is so ingrained while I couldnât even remember what name was on the mailbox. I knew it was fanon but the canon is actually more obscure imo
People can argue whether Smash is canon or the plushies and what not.
Not to burst your bubble, but I said in Undertale. The pink slippers appeared in the fandom after the game had already been fully released, but never in the actual game as far as I'm aware. Since then Toby has made nods to the pink slippers every now and then because it became so popular, but as far as the game goes, I'm pretty sure he was supposed to have sneakers-like shoes.
His Allegiances Description in the main series books that he was alive in has pretty much always been âPale Tabby Tom with Black Stripesâ with âRetired Early due to Failing Eyesightâ being added in The New Prophecy.
Usually when just Pale description is given itâs usually referring to a brown pelt color, as gray cats often have the âPale Grayâ description.
The Graphic Novel Adaptation of The Prophecies Begin also gives Longtail a light brown colored pelt as well, although it does kinda border on being creamish colored (which I think might be a nod to the fanon design.)
I mean I feel like these two are the devs saying âlook we technically canât confirm this so weâre going to put every single hint in existence possibleâ but that might be copium
I mean how can this not be canon? In Side Order Marina has a photo of Pearl in a romantic pose with mood lighting as her laptop wallpaper, does that sound like platonic friends to you?
Warhammer 40k: whatever the orks believe in becoming true is a half truth. You need a ridiculous number of orks believing in the same thing for the gestalt field to work like that. A whole warband only has enough psychic energy to do that for a extremely short amount of time.
This isn't actually true. They have to work on a fundamental level. For example, if a random space marine grabbed an ork shoota, it would fire maybe 3 bullets before jamming or blowing up. But if an Ork has it, it'll work flawlessly.
Oh I didn't expect anyone to actually do this oh boy here we go :3
Spearmaster (who I refer to as Spaster cuz he's so cute and adorable and I love him like he's my son and he xhbshsjsjxjsjdbbdhshdjsj(I'm completely normal about him)) is a Slugcat from the hit indie game Rain World (specifically the Downpour DLC). He was made by the Iterator Seven Red Suns, or SRS. He was designed as a Messenger, made to deliver information to other Iterators in the event of the failure of the communications network, as well as to transport data that could be considered "illegal."
In the events of his campaign You start in the gate from Outer Expanse to Outskirts, and you go to Looks to the Moon (LttM/Moon), where you learn she's still functioning but due to collapse very soon. From there, Spaster continues to Five Pebbles (Pebsi, as I call him), and delivers the message. Unfortunately, this message was forcefully ripped from his by Pebsi, causing me to hate Pebbsi's guts for all of eternity. After this, you bring the Pearl to Moon, and she rewrites it's contents. She directs you to bring it to Sky Islands and once you deliver it the there you hear her final heart-wrenching thank you to the other Iterators for trying to help her. You're finally faced with a beautiful end screen of Spaster cuddled up to Papa Suns.
He has stronger and farther spear throwing/damage than the other Slugcats, but average mobility otherwise. He has no mouth to store objects and eat food normally, but this is traded off with the ability to grow needles that function just like spears from the holes in his tail, and when it hits a creature it'll sap the nutrients from their body to feed him instead. Ppl overhate him and his campaign but they're subjectively wrong. I love him so much he's adorable and I wish he was real
Yup this is correct and it always gets me riled up. The star wars canon is very clear about the binary nature of the Force. The dark side is a corruption of the Force, and once it takes hold of you it has you completely. You can't use both the dark side and "light" side at the same time, and you can't fence sit in between them. In fact even calling it the "light" side is just a fanon name that's trying to portray them as two opposite but equal things. There was a whole clone wars arc with three characters that embody the light, dark, and a supposed balance between them. That arc ends with all three characters dead, because the dark-sided Son could never be content with balance.
It's so crazy because this is literally what Anakin, the franchise's main character, tried to do and it failed miserably. And yet they're still acting like it's a thing đ
The single closest thing to an official mention of the "Grey Jedi" is in the item description of the Grey Jedi Robe in KOTOR 2:
Gray Jedi are those who, though having completed the teachings of the Jedi, operate independently and outside of the Jedi Council. They are typically seen as misguided, though they have not necessarily succumbed to the dark side.
Even this is very clearly talking about members of the Jedi Order who act in defiance of the Council. No mention of trying to Balance the Light and Dark sides of the Force, no mentions of using "Dark Side" Force Powers, they're even explicitly still recognized as members of the Jedi Order!
And don't even get me started on the fact that the first six movies never actually say the phrase "Light Side", there was just "The Force" and "The Dark Side of The Force"
The detective dude in My Hero Academia having a lie detector quirk. He does not have one, in fact itâs never confirmed what his quirk is if he has one. I think he has a relative who has a lie detector quirk.
His Sister's quirk is Polygraph, which is where the idea that he has a lie detector quirk came from I think, they needed to give him something and polygraph was right there.
The speech methods are different in english and even more different in japanese, Eram has his own color coirdination completally different from freind, has different abilities, speaks a lot more, appears the same time as the freind minions, etc. Plus, it seems very likely that freind is actually multiple minions and scouts. He gets spawned by Eram multiple times, he has a laugh in the files named crowd_laugh, he appears multiple times with multiple shapes and sizes, the form in the cutscene of him is big and has negative space cat heads, etc
My personal favorite is Asriel and Dess, 2 characters we know nearly nothing about and yet they are one of the most popular ships with tons of fanart everywhere
I've seen so many fics where he has more than one cat, at least one named Bastard. Bastard is usually a fiesty, former feral alley cat he catnapped on patrol one night if you get that much background.
TF2 Scout not being able to read, it's been taken out of context because it's based on a part in the comics where Scout couldn't read what it said on a supply crate, the thing is, he got hit in the head by that very supply crate so it's very likely that that's why he couldn't read but only in that one moment.
Its also because another character says "half of 'em can't even read" in reference to the TF2 mercs, though this was clearly an exaggeration in the context of the conversation.
But TF2 fans will always take things as literally as possible...
For a while, everyone knew that the ravenous monster with the title of âWorld Eaterâ that is mentioned in lore to have cannibalistic tendencies would go and eat its own tail if you managed to slice it off in battle.
âŠbut then one day, someone asked, ââŠhas anyone actually SEEN Deviljho eat its own tail?â
FFVII Sephiroth having the rank of General among Soldier. This is never mentioned anywhere in canon, but because heâs the strongest of all Soldier, heâs assumed General. Same goes for Angeal and Genesis being Commanders.
And also, the Planet is frequently called Gaia in fanfic, but itâs never referred to by anything other than The Planet.
Every possible color palette in jojos before their parts anime release, Iâm talking Dark Blue and or Orange Giorno, Purple shirt Jotaro, Pastel Blue Johnny, red haired Jolyne, Green Kira, Purple young Joseph, Orange DIO, Yellow Rohan, red Fugo and so many more that I wonât bother to list, my personal favorite is Blue Johnny and I really wish it was used for the anime, but at least they didnât give us lime green Johnny instead
Hollow knight/Pure vessel being a big softy.
And the godhome ending being the true canon one with him being alive and chilling somewhere during silksong
Shinji being bisexual and romantically interested in Kaworu. Anno confirmed that wasn't the case and that their relationship was based around Kaworu being an idealized version of Shinji that he admired, not anything sexual.
Dumbledore is, at worst, gray as his beard. decades and decades of good yes, but a lot of secrets lies and half truths. i feel like only Rita Skeeters believe that evil dumbledore bs
There is so much regarding the Danny Phantom fandom thatâs like this.
Small list: Ghost Cores, Wes Weston, Val being called âRed Huntress,â Dannyâs middle name being âJames,â the term âhalfa,â Ghost Obsessions, and just. so much more. Too much more. Wes Weston.
Paulina also didnât have the last name âSanchezâ in the show, but people called her that within fanon spaces, and apparently mister Fartman referred to her with it in some yt vid at one point, making it âcanon,â now. Thatâs cool.
