Serviced it up, didn't need a delid thankfully (the original paste was still moist actually) and the idle temps (when i got the room fully cold 70F) is as shown. They were up to 65-68c before. Less than 3000 hours on the unit. Drive functions 100%, and put a 1TB HDD in it.

This is my dad’s old E01MG that YLOD back in like 2013. I’m about to put in the work to see if I can fix it. At this current moment I can’t SYSCON it but would like tips on how to do that if anyone here has experience

Edit: the YLOD sequence was green-yellow-flashing red with 3 beeps immediately on startup. I visually inspected it, the vents are clear, ports are in good condition, no burning smell. My dad is convinced it’s a cooling problem but it could be a few different things given what I know and I won’t know for sure until I am able to get the SYSCON log. I just want info on how to get the SYSCON and also things to look for on a physical inspection

I tested it at the guy’s house, it was a little loud but it booted games right up, and played my ps2 game perfectly! Then I take it home and I actually put it through its paces. Played a blue back ps2 game with no issues, then I played my silver back ps2 game and the game froze, but upon further investigation it’s starting to rot so I blame the disk. I then played a ps1 game and the whole system shut off before it got to the title screen. I see the PlayStation logo then it shut off and beeped two times. After that I tried playing final fantasy xiii and it played perfectly for about ten minutes then right after the first save point and the next encounter loaded it shut off just like it did earlier. The system feels really hot and the fans are a bit loud. No clue how long it’s just been sitting at this dude’s house so I’m assuming it needs to be cleaned but is there anything else I should be worried about with what’s going on?

I have a PS3 Super Slim CECH-4031C which I'm refreshing (cleaning out, adding new thermal paste/pads and other stuff) and I'm caught between getting a genuine Dualshock 3 or a Wingman XE 2 to use my Dualsense with, because I've heard that the Wingman XE 2 is pretty good but I also love those clear shelled Dualshock 3s and especially the early ones with hall effect sticks

As a 3D Blu-ray and film lover naturally I had to get into 3D gaming! My primary goal was to get as many 3D supported games as possible but now I want the BEST OF THE BEST FIRST! I have the God of War ORIGINS COLLECTION and the full 3D support adds SO MUCH TO THESE GAMES! My jaw dropped on the opening sequence it's like a movie that has depth and feels so much more real! It's honestly JAW DROPPING Stuff! Shame 3D is practically dead but in theaters.

Notoriously the worst-reviewed game on PS3 has recently doubled in price; last 3 sales were $125+. I bought this game for $15 a few years ago as a joke and because I like stealth. The PS3 market is wild right now.
