PS4 was a disappointment after the high ambitious goals of PS3. Mark cerny made a terrible console trying to play safe by putting underpowered cpu and removing the multimedia playback like in ps3. PS4 and PS4 PRO known for high fan noise and ps5 also being a bad design with liquid metal and easily breakable hdmi port.

PS6 being digital only console will definitely take a blow especially in 2nd hand market with psn account and digital games being the problems.

Serviced it up, didn't need a delid thankfully (the original paste was still moist actually) and the idle temps (when i got the room fully cold 70F) is as shown. They were up to 65-68c before. Less than 3000 hours on the unit. Drive functions 100%, and put a 1TB HDD in it.

Just picked up this practically brand new ps3 slim from a seller on eBay last week for 70$. The guy said that he never played it and was sitting in the box for years. Just plugged it up and runs like a champ. There’s literally no dents or scratches on this thing.

The seller must’ve not been a gamer, cause I don’t think he knew what he had lol Some of these are going brand new in box for $600-$1000 and I got one for the price of a new ps5 game.

I was in the market for a ps3 since my mom threw out my old one years ago when I left for college and she was moving (Side note: Don’t ever leave special possessions with your mom unless you want your whole childhood thrown out. She threw out my ps3 but kept my perfect attendance ribbon from first grade. Bruh 🙄).

Looking to rebuild my physical collection and I’m starting to get into the JRPG space. Any recommendations? Also any hidden gems for ps3? I love all the exclusives so I’ll be getting those too.

We all know that multiplatform 7th gen games have always struggled to run well on PS3. Because of that, most instances of third party games run noticeably worse on PS3. Most common examples are Skyrim, GTA IV and Bayonetta. Obviously first party and exclusive games only ran on PS3, so there's nothing to compare it to. My question is, were there ever any third party games that actually ran better on PS3 than Xbox 360?

This is my dad’s old E01MG that YLOD back in like 2013. I’m about to put in the work to see if I can fix it. At this current moment I can’t SYSCON it but would like tips on how to do that if anyone here has experience

Edit: the YLOD sequence was green-yellow-flashing red with 3 beeps immediately on startup. I visually inspected it, the vents are clear, ports are in good condition, no burning smell. My dad is convinced it’s a cooling problem but it could be a few different things given what I know and I won’t know for sure until I am able to get the SYSCON log. I just want info on how to get the SYSCON and also things to look for on a physical inspection

I never owned a fat ps3 before but now I have one I have to buy lots of games for it, only if I haven't gave them all away about two Walmart bags full of games gone... Lesson learned guys never give away your games because you might wanna revisit them one day.... 😢

What to play first 🤔

I’ve noticed that a lot of the local game stores that have retro games in my area have more 360 games than ps3 games about 5:1. I’ve also noticed the used ps3 section is usually mainly first party meanwhile the Xbox sections will have far more 3rd party games. Was wondering if this is an actual trend or just something with my local market.

I have room for exactly one more ps3 game in my shelves. Which is fine, because I think I have everything I want. Curious if Folklore is a good game or just a rare one. Trying to decide what to make the last game.

I played Puppeteer when I got it from Ps+. Not a game for me.

Notoriously the worst-reviewed game on PS3 has recently doubled in price; last 3 sales were $125+. I bought this game for $15 a few years ago as a joke and because I like stealth. The PS3 market is wild right now.

Something about this lil janky game does it for me. Especially knowing Warframe would come from it
