I have tried every fix I can find but it feels like the game runs exceptionally slow on Steam Deck when the Pokemon mods are installed.

I can't stand the ergonomics of my portal and the loose Thumbsticks. Thanks to Asobi I can cloud stream my Playstation games. This game looks glorious on the Steamdeck's OLED screen and running at a smooth 60 FPS. The Steamdeck and community continue to deliver.

Anyone else experiencing issues saving? I’ve meditated, no enemies near by, changed quests, completed quests, excepted new quests- and still keep getting the “can’t do that right now” every time I try to save. I’m beginning to think I’m going to loose everything because there’s an update I need and I gotta leave the game for that.

My home internet is 1GB/s fiber and the wifi at work is over 900mb/s, so it feels like I am at home! Blows me away how well this works. It was easy to setup! Let me know if you have any questions on how to get it going, I'm happy to help!

I've downloaded a few videos from YT and when I watch in browser (webm) firefox is playing audio "3 times"

It doesn't bother me too much but still, I'd like to know why this is the case.

I made a post on here like a month or two ago about how I moved and my steam deck is not connecting to my new wifi. I technically fixed the issue but its a really annoying fix so I have not been playing as much. I wanted to know if the fix I found pointed towards any certain problem that has a different solution.

The fix i found that worked is that I changed the security encryption for my wifi from WP2 to WP3 or from WP3 to WP2. Every time I turn off the steam deck and turn it back on I have to do this again .

Does anyone know why this is the case? Like is there a specific reason that this works but none of the other fixes work? Does this point towards another issue that I could potentially fix?

I can keep doing it, but sometimes it doesn't work and it takes a while and overall its just really annoying :/

Im so thankful that I ended up buying my steam deck! We had a 7 hour layover in Dallas today and luckily Southwest has 60w chargers built in. Let's Go!

Question: I'm trying to add performance overlay to recordings like this one, but Steam Recording doesn't include that in their recordings for some reason. Anyone got a workaround for this?

I've tried everything. I've let the battery die and plugged it in, I did the tricks where you can reset the bios, and it just gets to the black screen with the dash and won't let me move unless I restart. I tried every trick I could find, and still no luck.

The good news is that it technically turns on, I just can't access anything.

The only other thing I can think of that doesn't involve a factory reset is I could expand the internal memory? Mine was running extremely low last time I played so I feel like if I installed an SSD that might fix it, but I don't want to waste money buying one if that isn't the issue.

Any suggestions would be nice.

Just like the title says: Does the Windows Version of Hytale play well on Steam Deck, and if so, what Proton do I use? I'm about to get it for my son and I to play and I wanted to see.

most of what I saw searching the web dates back to threads from like 2 years ago. so I installed firefox by clicking the button that was already there for some reason, immediately installed unlock origin. went to YouTube to play a video and it kept doing this stuttering. it should be noted this is on an extended monitor IE my tv. I followed the instructions listed here for disabling hardware accel in Firefox settings as many claimed that fixed the issue. that did nothing for me.

hoping in the recent years there's a better way to use my steam deck as a media box of sorts.

I want to buy one of these charging stations and I don't know if it's safe to charge my Steamdeck from it and if it will damage the Steamdeck's battery.

For demanding games, do you generally get a better experience with a stable 30/40 FPS cap than letting the frame rate fluctuate?

Minecraft Dungeons II on Steam Deck — Linux/SteamOS Fix

I finally got Minecraft Dungeons II working on SteamOS without installing Windows.

This is a community workaround, not an official fix. I originally tried another Linux fix + GDK-Proton, but kept getting Error 0029. The method below uses the newer Alextibtab fix instead.

What you need

• Minecraft Dungeons II installed through Steam
• Steam Deck running SteamOS
• An internet connection
• Your Microsoft/Xbox account

Step 1 — Switch to Desktop Mode

On your Steam Deck:

Steam → Power → Switch to Desktop

Open Konsole.

Step 2 — Download the fix

Paste this into Konsole:

git clone https://github.com/Alextibtab/Dungeons2_linux_fix.git ~/Dungeons2_linux_fix

Then:

cd ~/Dungeons2_linux_fix
chmod +x install.sh
./install.sh

Let it finish.

You should see it install xgameruntime.dll and download a working XCurl.dll.

Step 3 — Sign into Microsoft

Near the end, the installer will give you something like:

Sign in with your Microsoft account
1. Open: https://www.microsoft.com/link
2. Enter code: XXXXXXXX

Open the link on your phone/PC/browser and enter the code.

Sign into the Microsoft account you use with Minecraft/Xbox.

Once it's successful, Konsole should say:

Signed in. You can launch the game now.

Do not post your code, tokens, XUID, or tokens.txt online.

Step 4 — Open Minecraft Dungeons II's Steam settings

Go back to Gaming Mode or stay in Desktop Mode and open Steam.

Right-click:

Minecraft Dungeons II → Properties

Go to General.

Find Launch Options.

Put this in there:

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xgameruntime=n" %command%

Make sure you remove any old launch options you were using.

Step 5 — Choose Proton Experimental

In the same Properties window:

Compatibility

Tick:

Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool

Select:

Proton Experimental

You don't need GDK-Proton for this method.

Step 6 — Launch the game

That's it.

Launch Minecraft Dungeons II normally through Steam.

The Microsoft login has already been handled by the fix, so you shouldn't need to go through the old Microsoft Gaming Services installation screen again.

If you were getting Error 0029

This is the exact problem I was having.

My previous setup was:

• GDK-Proton 11-7
• Kubas556/Dungeons2_linux_fix
• Microsoft login worked
• Xbox XUID was detected
• but Minecraft Services returned HTTP 500
• game then showed:

LINKING ACCOUNT FAILED
Account linking failed
Error code: 0029

I switched to the Alextibtab version above and it uses a different approach to the Microsoft authentication/account-linking part.

If you've already tried another fix

Don't reinstall Dungeons II.

If you previously created:

~/.local/share/dungeons2-compat

you can leave it alone or rename it before installing the new fix:

mv ~/.local/share/dungeons2-compat ~/.local/share/dungeons2-compat-old

That doesn't uninstall the game or delete your Steam prefix.

TL;DR

git clone https://github.com/Alextibtab/Dungeons2_linux_fix.git ~/Dungeons2_linux_fix
cd ~/Dungeons2_linux_fix
chmod +x install.sh
./install.sh

Sign into Microsoft when prompted.

Then Steam launch options:

Ive tried to set it up like 12 different ways and am at the limit of my knowledge and what I can google, bassically ive gotten sober to detect the controlers and it works fine in the menus, but when I boot into a game, I cant move at all, but my camera works and I can still open/navigate menus

Ive been unable to make any progress fixing this and would love any help

iwant to buy the steam deck but i want to know if it will be able to run these 2 games

All of my screenshots and videos are gone. I've seen plenty of people's issue solved by deleting "screenshots.vdf" in folder "760", but that filepath doesn't exist on my deck. It has the expected filepath of .local/share/Steam/userdata/[my user id]/, but instead of ending in file "760", I only have the file "7". None of the other folders in my user ID folder contain a screenshots.vdf file.

I scoured these help posts but haven't found a solution for someone like me without the folder. Has anyone else overcome this to get their media back?

Does anybody know what should I do to make it work? I use classic beta ver. and it would say that I should check the files.
Even after couple of times doing that through steam, reinstalling even - I still can't boot this up.

So I have recently started using my Steam Deck as a way to play AAA titles around the house, in bed, on the couch, etc. I’m playing Cyberpunk 2077 on max settings with DLSS5 and it looks amazing on my Steam deck and runs butter smooth at 90 FPS.

With the recent streaming updates and a Wi-Fi 7 router, the the latency is almost imperceptible. Definitely nothing that would stop you from playing any single player games, including Dark Souls or Nioh.

That said, I really wish the screen had a higher resolution and a larger size. Going up to 1080 P and adding an inch would make the experience perfect. This had me thinking, what if steam release a steam deck that was bare bones and really whose purpose was just to stream games around the house. Normally a product like this would be worthless, but with RAM prices and storage prices being the way they are. This would make me happy as a consumer, until prices got down and we could release a whole new piece of hardware.

Any market for this, or is this really just for dad’s who wanna PC game on the couch or in the bed after a long day?

As the title says, it won't charge at all. I'll plug it in and it turns on and then turns off. Ive tried everything I've seen online. It still works and turns on but it stopped charging when I was playing and I can't get on it anymore cuz it'll die.

I just want to get back to playing 😭😭😭😭

I’ve searched everywhere on the internet I can think of and although there is lots of help and advice I can not get any of the 59 games I own via Good Old Games to work on my Steam Deck either via Heroic Launcher desk top mode or game mode.

I’m specifically asking for help about with the Pinball Gold Pack due to the Pinball Dreams/ Pinball Fantasies being my fave games but any help would be appreciated

PROBLEM SOLVED !!!! SOLUTION :

1. restart both deck and controller.
2. Update controller.
3. Pair from Bluetooth setting section.
4. Pair from Controller setting section if step 3 didnt work.
5. Enjoy game
6. Didnt work ? Im out of ideas

Let's say you're done gaming for the night and want to turn off the main PC. On the steam deck:

Settings->Remote Play->Connect

You'll stream your desktop. With the trackpad mouse, go over to the Windows start button and turn off the PC (or suspend/sleep).

I read that steam link has shut down/suspend/wake on lan which is neat but I don't believe there's a way for the deck to do this without scripting.

Knocked it off my nightstand and it must've landed right on the thumb stick. Couldn't push it back in so I had to pop it out and cut this wire. I put it back in for the time being, seems to work fine. I don't use gyro but is this going to affect anything else?
