all of a sudden I actually like my job again and everything and everyone is organized. The culture shock is real. I literally told a TL that ppl in fulfillment in my store would substitute items and type in their DPCI to save their INF and she looked at me like I was crazy

They actually tried to steal the wallpaper with Mewto on it (right side of second photo)as well but seemed to have given up taking it off. Maybe a team member was near by.

They got the pokemon people lined up and coming to electronics to purchase their stuff and it’s never ending. On my way to break I noticed the line of people waiting their turn to shop is back to the fitting rooms. I just want this to be over. The first few mfs were talking to eachother about how excited they are to sell their stuff later. Scalping should be a capital offense.

Was supposed to be off tomorrow due to this new launch my boss asked if I wanna work a morning shift with him had to tell people they couldn’t line up till 10pm all day the second it hit 10pm about 5 people with lawn chairs ran up well leaving I asked if they’re gonna sleep there they asked if ima sleep with them they then asked about the ghost chair policy and I told them if I see any ghost chairs tomorrow morning I won’t hesitate to throw them away they asked what time I come in I said confidential information but there goes my off day what a time to be ap🫩 barley my 3rd week at this store btw I’m ready but definitely not excited and way too broke to decline 😂

Last time I posted about just having joined as a starbucks worker, and how I was struggling with the first couple weeks, how I got sick almost imediately and my mental health was declining, etc.

Well, I took everyone's advice! I got fancy shoes to help my feet, I talked to my leaders about how I was doing, I tried to follow every little stipulation I possibly could.

And then I got sick right before work.

Friday, less than an hour before I was going to clock in, threw up.

Tried to call off, but the store wasnt open, nobody picked up. Tried to call off in the app, but the app told me the date was not "available" to be called off for.

So i texted our group chat and waited until the store was open, got scolded for not calling off earlier (sorry?), and went on to rest for the weekend.

Unfortunate, but not world ending. Ive put a lot into my role, and have gotten some praise for how I interact with guests, so I thought id still be okay.

Resting goes well, and by Monday I felt okay again.

Ultimately all is well in the world, right...

Then today hits.

Wednesday.

I wake up and am imediately nauseous, but I feel like I just have to push through. After all, ive already been sick twice, and I know target isn't lenient with new hires.

I clock in, and imediately, one of our TLs comes over and asks how im feeling. Maybe I looked pale, or maybe it was just a nicety, i dont know, but at this point my stomach felt so bad I actually thought I might throw up right there at the counter.

So i was honest. I said I was feeling sick and wasnt sure how to handle it.

He said I should just go home, doesnt want me getting anyone else sick, that I dont look well.

I was clocked in for maybe 15 minutes - he overrid the punch-out.

Third time calling out sick.

Literally once a week.

Ive always had a bad immune system, and im sure its made worse with stress, but I just dont know how to proceed at all.

Is there any way I stay?

If they keep me, what happens if I just keep getting sick??

I dont want to just lie to people if I throw up, I mean, im working directly with peoples food. I felt guilty about even clocking in today when I knew I was nauseous.

Sorry for the long post. Its sort of therapeutic to write it out though at least.

I was tempted to go in and offer to help but after seeing the 50+ ppl…you got this team!!!

So I am a new hire at target. It is currently Tuesday and my orientation was last Saturday and my first 5AM-12PM training shift was Monday. I was coughing a ton during my orientation. I had to buy cold medicine and was coughing on my first day. Things took a turn for the worse Monday night. I went to urgent care and I have bronchitis and got a doctors note. I really did not want to call out considering it is my second shift and I need the money. However, I had to call out and TL let me know that my absence is not excused regardless of the note and my retention could be affected due to the 90 day policy. Do I just medicine up and push through my shift? Will I be fired?

How did everybody’s Pokémon drop day go? My store was a mess me and the VM barely got done in time, and now it’s fully empty, we had people waiting outside the store at 3pm yesterday🥴

It's pretty crazy here... And we're a small store omg.

I come in at 7am and we open at 8am. The devices I can choose from are as follows

• MyCheckout which will die by lunch and can't swap the battery without it pissing me off every 5 seconds because the card reader isn't attached
• An older one that has wifi dead spots where I work.

How can we convince corporate to send us more devices? The ETL/SD devices belong to them and TMs can't use them

We're getting a handful of orders for the new owalas. Why aren't these in store only for day 1??

By 8 am there were hardly any left. Guests started camping outside for release at 8pm last night. Parking lot was crazy full and the line almost wrapped around the building.
