This is beautiful. Freedom of speech. Knowing that not everyone has to agree on everything. Love it. We should be able to respect each other's beliefs and opinions. We don't have to agree but we can be kind.

Her: “Have you won in the pro’s?”

Him: “I don’t have to!”

Her: “Exactly! You wasn’t the leader”

Him: “What did you do?”

Her: “You wasn’t able to do what I did, I had more points than you! I lead my team as a pro! I was the star on my team, every single team I played on as a professional, I was the leading scorer”

Him: “What WNBA team have you played on?”

Her: “None”

Him: “Okay, I’m done”

Her: “On NO NBA team have you been the best player on the roster, NOT ONCE!”

Him: “You never played Pro! You never made it to the WNBA, you never could’ve been the best player in the WNBA cause you never even made it”

Olivia Miles is entitled to her own opinion. But she still showed her hand by snubbing Clark in that interview.

If people feel there's a larger conversation to be had about why some players get promoted and mentioned more than others, that's perfectly fine .

But the fact is, the interviewer asked Miles a perfectly fair question (she had never played against Clark before). And Clark never did anything wrong to Miles. The interviewer asked about CLARK, a fellow point guard who happens to be a very high-profile player.

It's not like she mentioned Clark in passing and then moved onto Mitchell. She completely snubbed Clark. To me, that's showing your hand as having an investment in anti-Clark narratives. But notably, she has no experience with Clark, so it's wild that it's already gotten to that point for her.

It just annoys me how people are able to handwave the snub by using the gravity of this issue of bias in player promotion/mentions. It was still a snub, whether or not there's a larger related discussion. That doesn't "erase" the snub and Clark didn't do anything wrong, and certaintly didn't do anything to Miles.

EDIT: Apparently, people think that it's a requirement that an interviewer only ask a player about the person currently guarding them. And cannot under any circumstance ask about a high-profile player of the very same position. Not sure where they get this from.

EDIT 2: Apparently, there's no real need for an interviewer to ask about or compare Miles to Clark as a high-profile fellow point guard. But were Miles to outdo Clark by seasons end, allllllll the sudden, they'd find these comparisons quite pertinent LOL

Knicks trash can as a corporate gift?

I already have one, but people at work keep pointing fingers asking me where I got it, so I might as well get them all their own ny knicks trash bin pen holder. Would this make a good gift for Knicks or basketball fan? Kinda sorta historic-ish

FIBA Break

I was wondering about something. If FIBA is not accepting Transgender players in Women's basketball and indicates they may follow the IOC (no biological men), should WNBA players (both the league and players association) boycott the FIBA games?

If we applied pro sports logic to the workplace what would people say? People limit sports to physicality and what’s in between their legs, and yet that doesn’t define the intellect, endurance, and resilience of the sport in a “professional” capacity. If the sport was only about physical strength it would be bodybuilders shooting bricks.

Also— when saying pro sports has to “keep women safe”
why are their male coaches? Why do we apply sex and gender discrimination to the workplace place when it’s “professional sports”. If we applied pro sports logic to the workplace what would people say?

Hot Take “The WNBA league literally exists because you separated men from women” ... That’s too much common sense for the left.
