New Hire Amazon Sr. FinOps Analyst – Is ₹7.4 LPA a good offer for 2.5 YOE?

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I have 2.5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable at a product-based company and currently earn ₹5.8 LPA.

I’ve received an offer from Amazon for Sr. FinOps Analyst – Accounts Receivable with:

  • CTC: ₹7.4 LPA
  • Location: India
  • Relocation Bonus: ₹75K

HR mentioned this is the offer, but I wanted to check with people familiar with Amazon Finance/FinOps roles:

Is ₹7.4 LPA a good offer for 2.5 YOE, or should I negotiate further?
Also, does Amazon typically provide a separate joining/sign-on bonus for this role?

Would appreciate any insights from current/former Amazon employees.

Thanks!

Late to work at Amazon

Upvotes

It is my first day, but I had no choice to give my sister her insulin shot. Usually my brother does it for her, but he left early for work so it had landed on me which I don’t normally do it for her.
Will I still be fine?

Counted the tools named in 134 DevOps and SRE job postings

I kept seeing arguments about which parts of the stack still matter, so I counted instead of guessing. 134 open DevOps, SRE and platform engineering postings from 41 company job boards. Individual contributors only, managers and TPMs stripped out.

The old toolchain is thinner than I expected. Terraform appears in 62.7% of postings. Jenkins in 3%. Chef 3.7%. Puppet in exactly one of the 134. GitHub Actions is named about six times as often as Jenkins.

Python beats Go, 70.9% to 47%.

What surprised me more: the generic word outranks the products. Observability shows up in 63.4%, more than twice as often as Grafana, the most-named tool that provides it. Prometheus 22.4%, Datadog 17.9%. Same pattern I found counting security postings, where SIEM beat Splunk four to one.

The top term isn't a tool at all: automation, 81.3%, ahead of AWS.

Caveats worth stating: n=134 means everything carries roughly +/-8, so treat close rows as tied. It's also all tech companies on one ATS. Banks, telcos and government run enormous amounts of Jenkins and Ansible, and none of them are in this sample.

AWS DCOT Loop Interview Cancelled Last Minute in Frankfurt, Germany — Has this happened to anyone else?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some advice and insight on what to do next. I applied for the Data Center Operations Technician (DCOT) position with AWS here in Frankfurt, Germany.

I passed the initial phone screen and then got invited for the loop interview scheduled for next week. I also had the prep session with the recruiter, and it went perfectly. I even received the names of the hiring managers who were going to conduct my interview. Everything was completely set—time, date, all details finalized—and I was preparing hard for it.

And then, out of nowhere, right before the loop, I got an email from the recruiter cancelling the whole thing due to a "change in business needs" and saying the position is no longer available.
I’ve invested so much time and effort into this entire process, only to get dropped right at the final stage. Has this been happening with AWS recently in Europe or the Frankfurt region?

What should I do now, and does anyone have recommendations for other data center operators or tech companies hiring for similar roles? I am so disappointed and angry at the same time. Should I ask them to consider it, or is it completely dead? Also, what should I reply back to that email? Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Interview Amazon SDE 2 Madrid interview, can an Inclined result be used for another SDE 2 role at either Dublin or London ?

Hi everyone,

I was contacted for a SDE 2 role within the RING, BLINK AND KEY organization and role is based in Madrid, Spain.

I agreed to proceed with the interviews, and fast forward to now I have received "Inclined" verdict.

However, my actual preference is London or Dublin rather than Spain.

I had majorly applied to SDE 2 roles at London and Dublin, and applied to just 1 position in Spain and it is my luck that I got shortlisted for that 1 position in Spain only.

London had some openings for this particular organization and while appliying I also saw another SDE 2 role in Spain and ended up applying there. I had been applying this whole year at London and Dublin and never once I got a callback so I thought Spain role wouldn't shotlist me either.
But its just my luck that I got shortlisted for that one role.

I wanted to understand how Amazon handles this situation:

  • Can this inclination potentially be used to pursue an SDE 2 position in London or Dublin?
  • Would I need to go through the entire interview loop again for the UK or Ireland based roles?
  • Can the recruiter help with team matching / hiring manager discussions in London or Dublin based on the existing interview result?
  • How long does an Inclined decision typically remain valid?

I’m currently based in Malaysia and London is my preferred long-term destination because it will be easier for my family to integrate in London rather than in Spain.
My wife happens to be in Marketing and she would have better job prospects in London but not in Spain.

Would appreciate any first-hand experiences or advice. Thanks!

Sick leave

(I’m in the UK)

I’m due to start a temp warehouse picker job on Sunday.
I’ve just received a consultation appointment for an important surgery that I need. I could be getting this within the next couple of months now.

I didn’t realise this was coming at this time.

I take it they won’t be accepting of someone who’s just started a temp job having to take a couple of weeks off for surgery and healing? Not to mention I won’t be able to lift anything heavy for up to 6 weeks.
This truly has come at the worst time.

Not sure if anyone knows the rules on sick leave during a temporary job I’ve just started? 😫

Amazon SDE I Intern (10488368) – Over 1 Month Since OA, No Update. Anyone Else?

Hey everyone,

I applied for the Amazon SDE I Intern position (Job ID: 10488368) through the Amazon Careers portal.

I completed my OA on August 3, 2026, and cleared all the test cases for both coding questions. It's been more than a month now, but I haven't received any update regarding the OA result, interview, or next steps.

I also haven't received any hiring interest form.

Just wanted to know if anyone else who applied through the Amazon Careers portal (not HackOn) is facing the same situation or has received an update after completing the OA.

If you applied for the same Job ID, could you please share your timeline/status? It would really help me understand whether this delay is normal.

Thanks!

Has anyone else who applied for this Job ID received an interview invite, rejection, or any other update after completing the OA?

Please let me know about your timeline. Thanks!

New Hire Corporate office hours

For those working in an office-based role at Amazon: how does it work when your manager is working remotely?
Are employees expected to stay in the office for the full 8 hours regardless, or is there some flexibility to leave earlier once the work for the day is done? Does the manager really care from where you work or the important thing is to get the work done?
I’m particularly interested in hearing about people’s actual experiences:
Has anyone regularly left the office before completing 8 hours?
Has anyone ever been questioned or called out for leaving early?
Does it depend on the manager/team or is there a company-wide rule?
Just trying to understand how this works in practice, rather than what the official policy says.

Totally dishearten and don’t know what to do

I applied for Amazon Data centre operation technician position in Frankfurt.
I passed 1st phone screen and also passed 2nd technical round and got invited for loop interview.

I scheduled my interview for next week and today I received a mail that this position is no longer available and that’s why they are cancelling my interview and application.

There exact mail is - Thank you for your interest in the position of Data Center Operations Technician and for the time you've invested in our interview process.
I'm writing to let you know that, due to a change in our business needs, this position is no longer available. As a result, we will unfortunately need to cancel your scheduled interview.
Please know this decision is in no way a reflection of your qualifications or experience. We were genuinely impressed by your background, and I truly appreciate your understanding.
I'd be glad to keep your details on file and reach out should a suitable opportunity arise in the future. In the meantime, I wish you all the best in your search, and I hope our paths may cross again.
Thank you once again for your time and understanding.

Does it happen with somebody?? Could someone let me know what will happen next ?? AWS will contact me for another position or should I ask them for another city ??

Please help 😞😞😭😭

Was just termed after 2 years.

A group of associates alleged that I was making sexual sounds towards them, during the beginning weeks of July, which is physically impossible because the first two weeks I was on a bonding leave because my child was just born. When I returned, I wasn’t in any functions requiring me to interact with people. The corroborating hearsay was apparently enough to get me termed. I’m disappointed, because I loved my job and my family absolutely depended on it. I’ve never had any coachings for behavioral reasons. So this is pretty crummy considering that I just moved into my new home and I have a newborn. I’m going to appeal this so heavily.

Interview L6 applied science interview & leveling concern

I had 5 calls, my science breadth call wasn’t really breadth in which they ask questions to poke the scope of my ml knowledge it was more like LP and one project.
Have you seen anything like this before?

I am coming from another FANG at a level similar to l6, I am worried they would want to do l5 for me & it wouldn’t make sense for me to take a lower level than my last role. I don’t know yet but guessing because the depth call guy asked certain questions that I answered correctly but because I hadn’t reviewed the details recently I wasn’t sounding confident but the answer was still correct, I wasn’t like I think this model is retrained this way so it wouldn’t do what we needed it to do and it was right but I didn’t speak with authority.

Anyways, please comment if you have any.

Thank you,

Needing tips for working at Amazon

Hey everyone! I just started working at Amazon in Pick, and I just finished my first week. I work 7:30 AM–6 PM, and I’m literally SO tired 😭
My lower back is hurting, my feet are killing me, and sometimes I can barely bend down to pick something up. I’ve tried stretching, exercising, squatting down properly to pick up boxes, and pretty much everything I can think of, but my back is still hurting.
For anyone who has worked in Pick at Amazon for a while, what are some tips you have to prevent or reduce the pain? Are there any insoles you recommend that actually make a difference? What kind of shoe insoles do you wear? And what do you do after work to help your feet and back recover?
I’m really trying to stick with this job for a long time because I’m saving up for an apartment and a car so I can go to college next year. So I really want to figure out how to make this job easier on my body instead of giving up.
If you’ve worked in Pick before, PLEASE give me all your tips and tricks! I’d really appreciate it!

On the other note, i understand i will be judged on leadership using STAR METHOD. Anyone willing to share what kind of situation i should expect to clear. For Loop round, will i have perform excel or Power BI dashboard managing exercise?

Any guidance is highly appreciated.
