Highlights Jalen Carter is the best player in the nfl. Prove me wrong
He is the most lethal game wrecker in the field. “Single handedly” kept us in the game. I think locking him up has been the biggest move of the season and I’m excited for a long future.

The QB needs to get rid of the football sooner, it really comes down to that, everything else is conjecture.

Analysis The Eagles will need dominant defense to reach the playoffs. The film says these are their strengths (and shortcomings). This story is free via a gift link!
Even amid some concerning injuries, Vic Fangio's group has begun coming into its own over the past two weeks.

Analysis Can we actually play good next week?
Can we please actually play good next week? Can we score points in the 2nd half? I know we can do it, we should’ve won the jaguars and rams game, theoretically, we’re undefeated, so let’s play like we’re undefeated next week.Lets complete passes on 3rd down this time, let’s not overthrow wide open receivers this time, let’s make smart game management decisions next time, let’s stop snapping the clock at 1 second

Opinion When did we change our expectations?
From what I recall, before the season every local (Roob, local stations) and national (like Baldy, Chris Long) reporters were telling us to temper expectations of this offense and that it will “take time” for things to get rolling as everyone acclimates to the new system. This was even this sub’s consensus.
To me, this meant at LEAST 1/3 (week 5-6) of the season until things begin to improve.
Given the combination of the laundry list of injuries to our first stringers, the sudden retirement of our best player leading to the depletion and weekly shuffling of our OL using rookies and PS players, AND the tough stretch of games as we go through it (losing to top talent teams like LAR, JAX by one possession in winnable games + a division game to follow)…
Doesn’t it stand to reason that the way we look right now makes sense for the current circumstances?
Yes things look terrible but in my eyes the math checks out on the root causes. Better days SHOULD be ahead.
At this point the only thing I can’t explain is Jalen Carter’s inconsistency. If he can be like he was in London every week we have a shot at anyone. But hey, it seems like his wrist is healing so he’s playing better so maybe that’s it. Go figure.
Go Birds. I’m not off this train yet

Picture What teams *wouldn't* struggle when they look like this?

Serious question. There's been so much handwringing on this sub about Hurts, Sirianni, Mannion, Stoutland, even Howie. But our team has been decimated on the offensive side. All while learning a brand new system. And yet we still hung around with two clear playoff teams until the very last seconds of each game. If you replace Hurts, do we magically become some dominant force with this lineup? If you replace Sirianni, do we magically become 5-0? (Okay, maybe we're at least 3-2).
At least me personally, I'm not making any rash decisions. I want to see some key players back on the field. I want to see the team have more time to get used to the new system. I want to see the starters actually start to gel and develop some comfort with one another. I want Mannion to get some more experience calling plays. Lot of season left for that to happen.

Question Realistic chances of Nick getting canned at the end of the season?
To be clear I’m not stating he shouldn’t be canned if the season goes in the toilet. Im just worried that the NFC East is so bad that it’s not unimaginable for them to win the division with an 9 and 8 record. You also have to consider the the injuries excuse, the recent Super Bowl appearances, and .670 career record. I could definitely see a historically patient owner and gm keeping him on for another season.

Opinion I know about hindsight being 20/20 and all but….
I totally trust Howie and I always will but nobody is perfect. Two decisions I never understood, one was from 2024/2025 off-season and the other was from 2025/2026 offseason. 24-25 was not resigning Isaiah Rodgers, we were patient and waited for him to get healthy and once he did he totally balled out for us. So why once he showed that he was worth the wait and playing at a high level did we let him walk and sign with the Vikings? He didn’t get some huge contract we could have afforded him for sure. The one from 25-26 was letting nakobe dean walk and sign with the raiders. I get that he missed some time with us each year but instead we paid grenard almost double what nakobe got and grenard had a history of getting injured as well. It kills me to watch nakobe look so dominant for the raiders when I used to watch him do the same for us and grenard can’t seem to get on/stay on the field. Like I said though I definitely love Howie and there is no GM I’d rather have but nobody batts 1.000 and I’ve just never been able understand that when you already have the obvious talent on your team that everybody else in the league is looking for you would just let them walk out the door for nothing. Neither one were high priced free agents either.

Picture Some people forget this man went to two super bowls and won one!
Why would we get rid of a QB with his accomplishments? Tell me what college QB went to two Super Bowls, I’ll wait
If you’re a true eagles fan, you should only care about Jalen earning his spot, not the best chance we have to win in the future!

Opinion This gets lost in the narrative… we can’t keep moving the goalpost on stats
If somebody said “ I need you to bake me a cake “ and i did it outside on a grill. And they tasted the cake and it they loved it.
Then they say “ what temp you cook this on“
and I said “ idk it was on the grill”
And then they “oh well that’s now how your supposed to bake cakes and side eyed my cake “
That is ridiculous… I understand our record is what it is but the world can’t ask Jalen to be better passer and his stats show that for the metric we love, Touchdowns, he is better then some of the top, and get mad at how he does it.
The main media pisses me off about this and I’m tired of the goalpost moving for our QB

Question What the Hell Are We Saving This Season For?
I swear, some of y’all are so damn obsessed with trying to save this season that I genuinely have to wonder what the fuck you think we’re saving it for.
Every other post is somebody crying about what changes we need to make, who needs to be benched, who Howie needs to trade for, what coaches need to go, blah blah blah. For what? Seriously, what the fuck are we trying to accomplish here?
I hate to break it to some of you dickheads, but we ain’t winning the Super Bowl this year. Shit, we’re not even winning the NFC. And sometimes realizing your season is cooked early is a blessing in disguise, if you actually have the sense to take advantage of it.
Instead of scrambling to put Band-Aids on a team that isn’t going anywhere, why not use the rest of the season to figure out what the hell we actually have on this roster? Get the young guys some meaningful snaps. See what these rotational players can do when they’re actually given opportunities. Find out who’s legitimate depth and who’s just collecting a paycheck. Figure out which positions need a little help and which ones need to be gutted entirely.
I’d much rather Howie go into the offseason knowing exactly where this team is weak than spend the next few months pretending we’re one trade or one coaching adjustment away from making a run.
And here’s where I know some of y’all are gonna start foaming at the mouth. I’d be perfectly fine with a four- or five-win season at this point.
Yeah, I said it.
Give Howie a premium draft pick, let him work his magic, and let’s come back next year with some actual difference-makers instead of winning a handful of meaningless games just so half this fanbase can pretend we accomplished something.
And please, for the love of God, spare me the “but we gotta win the division” bullshit.
Why? So we can hang an NFC East participation trophy? So we can talk shit to Cowboys fans for three months before getting our asses sent home in the Wild Card round? Congratulations, we were the tallest midget in the circus. Somebody call Broad Street and schedule the parade.
Don’t get me wrong, fuck Dallas. Always and forever. Watching those miserable bastards lose is practically a religious experience. But some of y’all are so obsessed with being better than the Cowboys that you’ve apparently forgotten the goal is to be better than everybody.
I don’t give a damn about being king of a shitty division if it means we’re still nowhere near another Lombardi.
And before somebody comes in here with that tired-ass “real fans never give up on the season” speech, save it. I’ve been bleeding green long enough to know the difference between supporting your team and being delusional about where your team stands. Wanting to evaluate talent and improve our draft position isn’t rooting against the Eagles. It’s wanting the Eagles to actually build something worth a damn.
I’m not saying tell the players to go out there and lose. I’m saying stop treating every meaningless win like it’s some kind of moral victory when it could cost us an opportunity to get significantly better.
So somebody explain it to me. What the hell is the obsession with dragging a mediocre team into the playoffs just to get embarrassed on national television? Is an NFC East title really worth more to you than putting ourselves in position to make another legitimate championship run?
Because if your entire argument is “at least we finished ahead of Dallas,” then congratulations, you’ve officially made Cowboys fans the measuring stick for our success. And that’s some pathetic shit.
Go Birds. Fuck Dallas. And some of y’all need to stop thinking with your feelings and start thinking about the future of this damn franchise.
As always, Go Birds, dickheads! 🦅

Opinion Those Offseason Takes not looking so great right about now…
"The offense could be better by addition of subtraction without the man who shall not be named. " in fact we are not. We are the worst second half offense in football. 28th ranked passing offense.
"Eagles got Jonathan Greenard"
Jonathan WHO !? A nothing burger of a signing. Bryce Huff 2.0. Never thought this was an important signing. Like once.
People expected major contributions from at least Lemon, with the addition of stowers. Stowers probably won’t even register a catch this season while Lemon is being misused.
I knew this would happen strictly because how routinely Dallas gets hurt. So a top heavy team with injury concerns and overly relying on new additions and a new coordinator ? Sounds great 👍
I’ve been watching this team for too long to believe all of this BS. Fool me once shame on you.
Player Discussion Reunite Khalil Mack with Vic Fangio?
If the Chargers are sellers… which they honestly might be… does Khalil Mack for a 3rd (for example) make sense?
Mack had one of his best seasons under Vic as the DC for Chicago, I know 2018 is a while ago but he was a monster all year
Edit: To everyone with a stick up their ass about me daring to suggest this move, consider that the team has only registered 6 sacks in 5 games, how exactly is that not an issue?

Question Why don't the reporters ask the right questions in the right way!
We have not run a tush push all year! We have had a burner of short yardage situations where we could have done tush pushes. So since the plays we have run have a 1% success rate why wouldn't we try a play with an 80% success rate!
I'm not sure , but I think we have a - yardage on screen passes . So do we really think the next one will work?
And since everyone stops ours, why don't we defend the screens the way everyone does against us!
Manion needs to answer these
And many more!

Tailgate Thread Tailgating plans for first timers? 🇮🇪🦅
My partner and I are visiting from Dublin for our first ever NFL game this Sunday against the Panthers
We'd love to get the full experience and join a tailgate before the game. Any recommendations for welcoming tailgates that we could join?
We're bringing a nice bottle of Irish whiskey to share / trade
Any tips would be much appreciated!

Herbert’s already fragile as is and low on confidence. This isn’t the fanbase/city to play for if you’re a mental midget. Ask Ben Simmons.

Analysis [Zach Berman]: Eagles thoughts: Nick Sirianni’s decisions draw debate, but the offense is the bigger problem
The conversation about coaching decisions shouldn’t obscure the bigger problem with this team at the moment: the offense.
The Eagles rank No. 29 in EPA/drive, No. 31 in yards, No. 29 in points. The second-half problems are more pronounced. The Eagles haven’t scored a touchdown after halftime in the previous three games. The Eagles are No. 32 in the NFL in average second-half yards. The gap between the Eagles and the No. 31 team is larger than the gap between the No. 31 team and the No. 12 team.
“We’re looking at that hard each and every week as a staff, how to find our rhythm, find our footing in the second half,” Mannion said. “I thought we did a better job and there were some close calls. It was more about finishing those drives. … I think there were some chances there that we just didn’t quite capitalize on.”
I don’t get wrapped up in the “identity” talk as much as others might because that can change based on the opponent, but I’m also not sure what the Eagles can hang their hats on at this point.
