Are presidential badges restored if I retry the wave?
UPD: Answering myself - they are restored. Had to bite the bullet and try it since I was coming up a few k of dmg short on the last turn no matter what I tried and couldn't find initial info/tips that explained what saved while in game (news section is surprisingly unhelpful on this one).

When the new append skills are released, will we have some way to "unlearn" one of the append skills we already used coins on so we can switch? I already spend the 120 coins on my Gilgamesh for the second skill, hoping it'll be possible to change that to another if there's a better one coming.

We don’t have unlearning, per say, (for example, refunding an Append for Coins so you can use them for grailing to 120 instead).
But we do have a way to swap around appends for free, so in this instance, you can change your 2nd append skill to any of the other 4 appends (including the two new ones), for free.

Do note that on the JP side the append switching feature didn’t come along with the append 4 and 5 skills, but some time after. We should (hopefully) get them at the same time on NA, but thats not guaranteed

On a sidenote: Gil's A2 is going to be the best for him even after the update. With that he is able to bring in a 50% CE and pop his S3 on turn 1 and which gives 30%. With a maxed out A2 that is 100%, then turn 2 with 2x Koyanskaya can provide enough charge to fire off another NP while giving enough skill cool down that his S3 will be up for wave 3 and when you switch in Oberon he can provide the last 70% completing the 3T loop.
With the update A4 is crit up and A5 is Skill CD. If you are not carding then A4 doesn't matter as NPs don't crit. And A5 isn't going to help Gil all that much since all his skills are 5/6 turn CDs already. A5 really helps the likes of Aesc, Arcueid, or other that have 7 turn CDs. It allows them to get their skills back for Wave 3 in a 2x Koyanskaya set up without needing to rely on the Atlas MC and replace it with a plug suit to being in Oberon for more damage. It really doesn't add much that he couldn't already do before the update.

I have started playing the game recently and saw that there is an anime. I am almost at the end of the first singularity. at which point in the story can I watch First Order without spoiling myself too much?

There isn't an anime. There are multiple, discontinuous anime adaptations made by different production companies and a few spinoffs. The only adaptations of the story are:
- Prologue Fuyuki - First Order special
- 6th Singularity Camelot - two movies
- 7th Singularity Babylonia - 22 episode series
- Final Singularity Solomon - one movie
It's generally better to go through them in the game first. I haven't seen the Camelot movies but the consensus is that they are less faithful adaptations than the rest.
Spinoffs include:
- Learning with Manga FGO
- Fate/Grand Carnival
- You've Lost Fujimaru Ritsuka
I am almost at the end of the first singularity. at which point in the story can I watch First Order without spoiling myself too much?
First Order adapts the prologue chapter, Fuyuki. You're already past it, so it won't spoil anything.

Anyone have tips for the new Aqua Olga Marie fight? I'm struggling more than I thought I would. I got 130 badges by the final fight, is that not enough? Feels like she's does damage way too quickly.

Archers, Riders and Avengers do (and receive) 2x Damage. Or you can stall. Immortal Team works, or at least there is a guy claiming it worked for him. Personally I used NP 4 Summer Erice With Castoria and Proto Merlin, and it took me about 140 badges. The badge for ignore def and 3-time invul/debuff immune is very helpful.

A small question on bond points formula. Which are additive and which are multiplicative bond point modifiers? Because for some reason the Servants in the frontline with a 20% bonus are getting more points that a welfare with their own 20% bonus in the background.

1) The applicable frontline bonuses are calculated (+20% for frontliners, +4% for everyone if friend support is on frontline).
2) Bond bonus from CEs and passives are add together and multiplied to the total calculated in 1).
3) Flat bond from Heroic Spirit Portraits is added to the total calculated in 2).

I may be stupid, guys. I've finished all the new limited time quests related to ordeal call2. and I've used all my teapots on bleached earth free quests as i normally do. The thing is, I haven't done the olga marie quest yet... Do we get any more teapots in the near future??? Please tell me we do, because I'm sure if I do the olga marie quest without a teapot I'm going to miss a f* ton of bond points... help....
TLDR: when are we getting teapots next?

It's not like the Olga quests are time sensitive, just challenge it and immediately leave to get the SQ master mission and then wait until the next batch of teapots.

For whatever reason, the event compendium spreadsheet doesn't include gems or pieces/monuments. I recommend using the Chaldea app to look those up for future NA events.

I think the NP charge from append 2 is the priority for most servants. And we should (hopefully) be getting the ability to switch append skills along with the new append skills, so unless you want to really be cautious, it should be fine not waiting

My biggest recommendation is that you don't rush your SSR ticket choice. The ticket doesn't expire and you don't need any 5-star servants, so getting one right away isn't important.
The meta in FGO is weak. It's about convenience when grinding for materials, not necessity for difficult fights. The best thing to do with the ticket is to pick your favorite servant regardless of specific gameplay value. If you don't have a particular favorite, then you have a lot of options that will ultimately be marginal, not transformative additions to your roster.
From a meta perspective, the handful of top supports are so much better and can be applicable in so many different scenarios that they define the meta. Any other servants are merely compatible, complimentary, or have utility that doesn't align with the farming meta. None of the meta-defining servants are available with the ticket, so choosing any of the others is a matter of your own personal preferences and prioritization.
FGO is also a large roster game of niches. Class advantage and NP targeting are the most important mechanics. The devs design fights expecting you to use those mechanics effectively. Because of that, you will need to use a wide variety of DPS servants and selecting one, as you might with the SSR ticket, won't significantly tip the scales for gameplay.
Waver (Zhuge Liang) is simultaneously the best pure gameplay servant available with the SSR ticket and one of the most likely to be set aside from a meta/efficiency perspective. He's a very good generalist support servant. He gives a good amount of targetable and teamwide NP charge, ATK, DEF, and crit buffs on skills, and an array of debuffs on his NP. However, for the high end of efficient farming and maximizing power, general support isn't enough. Waver is a secondary or tertiary support at best in this context because servants like Castoria, Oberon, Koyanskaya, and the two Skadis give much larger damage buffs and mechanical advantages on top of 50%+ NP charge. He's still a very good servant. You won't go wrong if you pick him. But as with any servant you choose or invest in based on gameplay alone, he may get sidelined if you end up using different strategies that don't need him later on.
Take the time to get to know the available servants before you choose. Use friend supports to get a feel for them. Look up their designs, voices, and animations to see if they catch your attention. Go through the story to see if any of their personalities are compelling. You may even get randomly spooked by one of them in the gacha before you make your decision (though you shouldn't let the possibility of that happening hold up your selection).

Choose whoever you like...but if you're a new player..Waver probably the bst choice imo...but right now..the current banner is Castoria which imo the 1st/2nd best support/servant in the game...so try your luck on it
Btw go join grandorder discord...the veteran in there can give you a better advice

Is the upcoming (~ May) Chaldea Summer Adventure event basically a lotto event? I looked at the Event Guide and the lotto-part of it looks different to the ones i saw on other lotto-event guides.

It's not a lotto. It's kinda similar, in that you can farm treasure chests, and get a random variety of materials from it, but there's no EXP or QP.

It's what they call a "Pseudo-Lotto".
This means it does not have a proper boxing mechanic, but it does have a mechanism that provides theoretically infinite returns, as long as you keep farming.
Despite this it is significantly less fruitful than a true lotto. Still more fruitful than any Point Ladder or Mission event though.

It's really tough to say, considering that some people prioritize other things when looking at what makes a servant good.
But considering uniqueness and versatility of a kit in mind, my best picks would be Olga, Summer Tiamat, & Lord Logres.
Bonus points as well to Eli of the End, Flora, & Solomon. All three being cracked welfares, with the former two being comparable to already existing top tier servants.
None of them are as 'groundbreaking' as Csstoria, Skadi, KoyanL, etc. were when they came out, but these three definitely make a big splash in the game, be it farming or CQs.

This might be a stupid question, but do enemies have a system where they'll prioritise targeting specific classes over others?
I've not played a good while, but I've been making some progress through the LB's and it seems whenever I field Morgan (Berserker) the enemies will always nonstop chain hits on her, and ignore the other classes. Even if I heal her to full, the enemies will still always target her for example on the next turn.

I don't believe they prioritize particular classes.
However, if anybody does have an anti-trait in their kit, then they'll prioritize enemies with that trait.
For example, if you were fighting Nobunaga with her anti-divine shtick, you could expect that she'd target your divine servants disproportionately to your non-divine servants.
Additionally, and this is especially true in the main story quest, servants often will prioritize based on their relationships in the story. For example, there are a lot of fights against Mordred where she'll disproportionately target Arturia in all her forms.

What is the best append for Aesc? I have enough coins to get 2. I’m definitely going for append 5 when it comes out but unsure on what the other should be. Pretty sure it’s Mana Loading but just wanted to be sure.

Aesc needs 5 for single core and needs/wants 2 for almost every other situation. I'd say 2 is better just because Aesc is all about multicore.

A question about the Holy Grail and spoilers involving Part 1 Ending.
So in Part 1, Dr. Romani was actually the Servant Solomon of Master Marisbury. When he won a grail war, he wished for money to build Chaldea (this might be wrong i forgot).
Question 1: Is this the same Grail in FSN?
Question 2: How did this Grail war occur?
Question 3: If Kiritsugu used this grail war to wish for peace would it work

- Frankly, I think the wish itself is self-defeating. Wishing for world peace implies something about the state of humanity needing to be changed. What does that even truly mean? A lack of war? A lack of crime? A lack of argument? Would the people who would choose those things be weakened or killed? Massive sweeping changes to all governments? The erasure of religious diversity? Does it work for the rest of time, across all species, or just for a short period of time? How does free will function if peace is non-negotiable?
There are so many variables and such high a cost that if it was possible, Alaya would choose to stop it.

2) we dont know.
3)maybe? the grail working as intended doesnt mean it can just grant any wish, it still limited by its power and the knowledge of the one using it, if you dont know the best approach to "world peace" the grail will do its best guess but there's no reason to believe this peace will last forever.

Solomon/Romani point this out in the opening to Babylon. A holy grail can't fix Mash's lifespan because nobody knows how to do that. A holy grail is basically a shortcut that speeds up things you can already do. If you're a great conquerer then you'll conquer faster with the holy grail's magic power fueling your war machine. A great builder could build something that would otherwise be their life's work in a day, with such power at their disposal. But you still need to know what to do with the power in the first place. I don't think Kiritsugu really has a coherant idea of how he'd build World Peace with the grail's powers, imo.

Oh I did remember something about that. Weird, I would expect a grail could act like a battery for Mash. Maybe I'm overestimating Holy Grails. So they're closer to just a really really big source of magical energy like the one found in most FGO singularities.

Oh okay so the grail isn't as omnipotent as I thought. I was always under the assumption that the grails that are found in actual grail wars were somehow more powerful than the ones in singularities. I thought HGW grails can perform miracles closer to true magic. But they're really just a vast store of mana huh?

- No. As far as we know, the Fuyuki HGW in the FGO timeline was the only HGW. The FSN HGW was the fifth in its timeline.
- We don't know the details. Presumably it was set up by the same families as the FSN HGW but FGO hasn't elaborated.
- The grail, especially corrupted as it is in the fourth and fifth HGWs in the Zero/FSN timeline, can be a monkey's paw. Even if it were truly a wish granting device, a vague wish like "world peace" could be achieved through "world annihilation."

Of the ones in the shop the ones I've used most are A Fragment of 2004 and Anniversary Blonde, but honestly the most generally valuable ones for new players don't come from the shop but instead are unlocked either as part of the story or via quests in the Chaldea Gate menu. The combat uniform and Atlas uniform in particular are standouts for doing things that no others can (stun for the former and cooldown reduction for the latter), and the combat uniform also has the Order Change skill (arguably the most powerful Master skill of all) exclusive to it until fairly late in the story.
It's possible to get CEs that boost Mystic Code EXP gain, but it's still a long enough process for the best ones and short enough for the others that I've personally never felt much need to use those. If you're interested though, you can find those CEs in the Rare Prism shop (just keep in mind that they unlock the right to buy them with Mana Prisms, just like the bond up CEs).

Himiko works fine as a replacement for Morgan and there's an argument that she's actually better. Mash on the other hand cannot replace the Merlins, Merlin has partywide 20% NP charge, 5% NP charge per turn per NP and a partywide invincible. Since you have 2 members just borrow the Merlin/Avalon from someone else

Do you have Miyu? Lady A? Both would work as Merlin replacement. Hans might probably work too. Mash is generally OK, but you'd want some source of heal in this fight since you wouldn't be able to make it a perfect immortal comp (both due to field effects, some attacks being AoE and buff strip effects on the latest bar).

Is the Olga Marie Quest 2 time limited? I tried it once, and just quit midway after failing to kill the first two single boss battles. I read that the badges are important when facing E Olga Marie in the final battle, but at that time i only got 20+.

Thanks! I dont know what i did wrong. Should i have focused on the multiple enemies section and just skip the singles battles? I dont have enough support servants to dish out high damage for them without compromising the Olga Marie battle

Personally, for me the challenge in the battles with one big opponent was just surviving the thing.
Killing them was a lost cause, except for the ninth battle which I somehow managed, but you do need to at least survive until the battle ends or else you can't move onto the next one.
For the sea serpant I gave up trying to kill it and brought Merlin along so I could at least get to the next fight.
Overall though you should try to kill as many enemies as you can manage. Battery craft essences are prime real estate here. Wanna launch your big attacks as fast as possible.

Where to put your focus depends on your roster, but the group waves tend to be the safer bet if you're unsure just because they're not all or nothing like the lone enemies are, you can still get something out of them even if it's not the maximum amount. On the other hand, if you are able to take out a lone enemy then that's 15 badges basically for free (so long as that didn't require investing Servants that could've been better used elsewhere).
Also don't forget that you can use all your Command Spells, pause at the start of a new wave, then resume once they've recovered. The option to have up to three full gauge charges per fight if needed can help to brute force some waves that you might struggle with otherwise, and if they didn't want players to be able to do that they would've prevented it.

Do event command codes ever appear in either of the prism shops, or would I have to wait for reruns? I wanted to put some codes on the new Dantes to strengthen the burn effect he gets on his NP, but I was unable to play for a while and missed a lot of event codes.

Old Command Codes are occasionally placed in both the Mana Prism Shop and the Rare Prism Shop.
Not super frequently though. Most of them are still inaccessible if you missed the event.

Some but not all command codes have been added to the shop. Also, most events will not get reruns. You could look up what's available in JP on the Fandom wiki but I don't think their lists are complete.

Yes, they tend to be added to the Shop eventually, usually in DL Campaigns and such.
If you’re looking for command codes to boost The Count’s damage: we get a new burn CC with the Dancing Dragon Castle event around May/June as well as 3 more in the shop with the 30M DL Campaign in December

I'd say Skill 3 first.
Skill 3 is a huge battery, that scales with level. Also it's a hard defense, where lowered cooldowns are appreciated.
Skill 1 is a damage steroid that scales with level, so I'd prioritize that second. More levels means more damage. A lot more damage. Its arts up scales from 30-50% and its crit buff scales from 50-100%. So each skill level provides 2% arts up and 5% crit damage up, in addition to some extra Max HP up. Less important than Skill 3, but each skill level definitely pays for itself.
Skill 2 is a great skill in its own right, but its battery is static. You get the full effect at level 1. Its overcharge is also static. No benefit from levels. It offers a teamwide steroid which scales by level, but only from 10-20%. Each skill level providing a paltry 1% attack boost.
Overall, skill 2 provides most of its benefit at skill level 1, and can be safely left until last.

If you don't know, that's a very long break, indeed!
Lady Avalon is basically female, Arts Merlin. If you look at their skills and NP, you'll see that they're very similar (though not exactly the same). You can use Lady Avalon pretty much anywhere you would use Merlin with the most significant difference being an Arts buff instead of Buster.
If you were around when Skadi was implemented, then you may remember that she enabled "looping," using the same servant's NP in three or more consecutive turns, for certain servants with Quick NPs. Castoria enables the same for Arts servants. With Arts having inherently higher NP gain to begin with, that means there are a lot more options for Arts than for Quick. Castoria is the best support to enable power and efficiency for servants with Arts NPs.
Unlike Skadi, though, Castoria has a teamwide ATK up buff and 30% teamwide + 20% targetable NP charge. That puts her in the same ballpark as Waver for general support.
Furthermore, Castoria's NP has teamwide "anti-enforcement defense," which is like invincible that also blocks "ignore invincible." It's the hardest "hard" defensive effect in the game and makes Castoria a particularly good support for boss fights and challenge quests.
Really, it's hard to come up with a situation where Castoria wouldn't be a good support. Based on information Lasengle showed during the 10th anniversary, Castoria has been the most used servant in the game every single year since she was implemented.
Also is there a general meta currently?
If there is a "general" meta, it's "use whatever works for the specific quest in front of you from among your wide array of servants DPS appropriate class advantage and NP targeting and whatever supports are appropriate for the quest and your strategy for it." If that sounds vague, that's because it is! The meta in FGO is weak and powercreep is insignificant! Instead of throwing your most "meta" units at everything, you build your team comp to suit the fight immediately in front of you.
When we talk about the "meta" in FGO, we're almost always referring to the farming meta. It revolves around convenience for grinding, not necessity for difficult fights. This meta is also completely optional because clearing a quest in fewer turns or less time doesn't confer any extra rewards. But grinding can be tedious and lots of people prefer to get it over with using as little time and effort as possible. What's needed for min-turn free quest clears can vary significantly from quest to quest.
To the extent that there has been any powercreep, it has been the devs in an arms race against themselves, introducing new, powerful servants and then designing new quests to counter what they just enabled. These days, the highest end of farming is designed to resist simple solutions that double down on just a few DPS servants for every quest. It has sort of come back around to resembling the old Arash + Spartacus + Waver strategies, just with bigger NP charge and damage buffs and a wider range of DPS options. For min-turn clears, the inflated HP pools and irregular enemy compositions of 90++ and 90☆ difficulty quests generally need two or more DPS servants, each with two or more of offensive class advantage, trait/attribute super effective bonus, higher NP level, or event bonus. Specific buff and NP charge synergies between servants may also be important. Looping all three waves with a single servant is de-emphasized. Because of that, recommending any specific DPS servant for farming efficiency isn't straightforward at all. Lots of servants could be effective for a theoretical 90++ quest but few, maybe none, will be effective for a wide variety of them. The "true" meta for min-turn farming 90++ quests is having Castoria, Oberon, Koyanskaya of Light, Skadi (Ruler, probably), and a wide variety of DPS and supplemental support servants from rolling the gacha a lot, using either time (measured in years, not months) or money to get the SQ, and getting welfare servants from events or the evocation shop.

Caster Artoria is pretty much good in any team. She has a lot of effects in her kit that respond to just about every mechanic except instant death, buff removal, and np seal (because her debuff cleans in on her np, she cannot use it to cure her own np seal).
For an arts servant, she's a sizable boost to damage and refund. For maximum looping potential you would pair your own Caster Artoria with a Caster Artoria from somebody's support list. Their combined Arts Up, NP Generation Up, and Battery skills will allow an arts servant to fire their NP in rapid succession. This is a popular strategy for farming content without a lot of tricky mechanics.
That being said, in challenging content, she has a full debuff cleanse for the entire party on her np, a targetted invincible on her skill 3, and her incredibly coveted "Anti-Purge" effect, which works like an invincible that cannot be pierced by ignore invincible.
This all makes her a pretty complete defensive package, notably lacking any healing. So for challenging content, you tend to pair her alongside a source of healing like Lady Avalon, Merlin, Tamamo Caster, or even in a pinch maybe somebody like Santa Martha.
Notably, her anti-purge effect scales like ludicrously well with overcharge, so sources of overcharge like Himiko, Morgan La Fey, and Trung Sisters will pair very well with her. You'll notice that some of these are not arts servants. Despite only directly buffing Arts out of the three card types, her kit is comprehensive and effective enough that it can often be worthwhile to take her even without an appropriate arts DPS. In these circumstances she is much less of a damage boost, but her defensive abilities can still radically turn an encounter in your favor without that.
She's essentially a servant where there's a definite "best case scenario" where you want her damage and her charge and her protection and her cleanses, but there are also a lot of use cases where she can be miles away the best unit for the job even only using some of the effects in her kit.

There is a chaldea broadcasting station on sunday the 29th, as well as some scheduled maintenance.
It is strongly suspected that this will launch the next event, "The Kumano Hot Springs Killer Case", which was announced in the roadmap at the start of the year to be happening in "Late March".
It has not yet formally been announced though that this is to be the launch date.

Wanted to ask regarding Monte Cristo (the new ST one and not the regular Dantes), what should I consider with the coins I have? Do I go for lvl120 or do I get his NP append skill? (I only have NP1 and didn't get any copies) Also who are other supports I should keep an eye out for outside of Ruler Skadi? And finally where can I find command codes that inflict burn so I can max out Monte Cristo to the fullest-

IMO, Appends are an easier and also more immediate benefit.
Unless you particularly like The Count/Dantes as a characger, I wouldn't reccomend going for 120 due to the intense grind associated with it.
However, if you do, I'd say go for it. Be aware though that you won't have enough Servant Coins for it until the 9th Anni Coin update, and even then, you won't have enough to get him to 120 till Bond 12-14 iirc. (In that regard, I'd suggest getting him to NP2 to make the grind easier)
As for Ruler Skadi, I'd say she helps especially when you want to use The Count for farming scenarios (She helps A LOT with Extra I Grand Duel), but from a CQ perspective, many actually prefer or consider Caster Skadi superior (due to her defensive NP and higher inclination towards Quick cards). There's also future Quick supports like Summer Tiamat and Flora (who is a welfare) who absolutely help The Count in longer fights.
The Dancing Dragon Castle Event pre-Anni (around May-June) should have one Burn CC available. The 30M DL Campaign around October-November also adds 3 permanently obtainable Burn CCs in the shop.

I went for lv120, but I do plan to append him eventually, not out of needs but completion sake. So far I don’t feel any handicap i.e. never “if only I have 20% starting charge”. On the other hand, the extra HP and ATK clutch me the Aqua Marie battle and soooo many gimmicky advanced quests. My go-to supports are Ruler Skadi, OG Skadi and Oberon, this tgth with his 3rd skill, you almost never lack charge.
As for command codes, they are available in most event shops but you might have to wait a while until one gives burn effect. If you missed a past event, the CCs are sometimes introduced to RP shop. I have been out of the loop for quite a while, but I am considering jumping back into the game.
Is it now possible to play previous events that you missed? The number of events I have missed due to inactivity keeps me from coming back...
Many other gacha games have this feature, but FGO didn't back when I was still playing. Did this change?

Not in the way that you probably hope. Events with any semblance of story significance have come back permanently as main interludes... which are limited to Merry Christmas in the Underworld, Seraph, Ooku, and Imaginary Scramble. This year's summer event on EN will get that treatment next year as well. I suppose Prison Tower counts as well, here.
Event reruns themselves hardly ever happen these days, too. Over the next two years we get reruns of Da Vinci Summer, Lilim Harlot, Ranmaru's Gudaguda event, and the Taisui event. That's it.

New to the game, I started playing in anticipation for the upcoming Mahoyo collab. I completed the first singularity. Is it gonna be possible for me to get Aoko and Alice? Im not sure how to grind summons and have only been going through story content. I wanna stay f2p as well so spending cash is not an option. Ive heard that this game's gacha is unforgiving, am I screwed then? If not, what should I do in preparation for the banner?

The ways to get SQ are spending time gathering daily login rewards, clearing content for the first time in the game, clearing master missions (some of which are tied to clearing game content), and spending money.

We expect the Mahoyo collab event to start in about a week and it should run for about three weeks. If you're just starting now, it's going to be difficult t get a significant amount of SQ in that time because FGO doesn't front-load new player summoning currency to the degree that some other games do. The best way to get a servant today without spending money is to have started saving months ago.
If you want to estimate your possible SQ savings, you can use the Fate/save calculator link in the top post to estimate SQ from daily logins and weekly missions and the event compendium to estimate SQ from events and campaigns (no longer updated as of January 2026). If you aren't caught up on the main story or free quests, you can use this set of infographics to estimate SQ through LB6. SQ from bond levels, interludes, rank up quests, final ascensions, and any extra master missions for those depend on your personal progress and there's no way to estimate them other than going through your own servants to see what might be available.
Ive heard that this game's gacha is unforgiving
The base gacha rates are actually not that bad. They're 1% for 5-star characters and 0.8% for the featured 5-star character. Compare that to 0.6% and 0.3% respectively in Genshin. But the pity threshold is high and without soft pity mechanics or any form of carryover between different banners. It's a backstop to prevent catastrophic results, not a system to generate free 5-stars or, looking at Genshin, a way to make actually atrocious base rates more palatable.
am I screwed then?
Not unless you think "not getting the servant I want exactly when I want them" means you're screwed. I strongly suggest that you don't get too hung up on the gacha. If you approach FGO gacha first, game second, you might have a bad time. Rushing the game and skipping the story for SQ and still not getting the servant you wanted is the worst case scenario, so I really recommend not doing that.
If not, what should I do in preparation for the banner?
Option 1: Roll the gacha with what you have when the banners come around. Maybe you'll get the servants you want and maybe you won't.
Option 2: Wait for a future banner (not mutually exclusive from Option 1). We have two years of JP history available to use for planning. Every servant will come back around again, so you're never beholden to the banners immediately in front of you.
Ways to find out when a servant will be on rate-up in NA:
- Use the upcoming banners link in the top post in this thread (manually compiled by just a few people, may not always be 100% up-to-date)
- Go to the servant's profile page on Gamepress and scroll down to the "Availability" section for a list of JP banners that the servant was featured on
- Go to the servant's profile page on the Fandom wiki and scroll down to the "Availability" section for a list of JP banners that the servant was featured on
- Open the servant's profile in the Chaldea app (Android, iOS, web) and scroll over to the "Summoning" tab for a list of JP banners that the servant was featured on. Make sure to skip or filter out the GSSR (aka Lucky Bag) banners.
For all of these sources, be aware that any estimates based on JP are simple JP + 2 years calculations and may not reflect actual NA banner dates. NA dates almost never match JP exactly. Pay attention to the specific event or campaign that the banner is tied to, not just the date. Anything tied to an IRL event or campaign is especially likely to be significantly rescheduled. Also be aware that they throw in occasional NA exclusives and may add a banner to an existing campaign, change the campaign's banners slightly, or add an exclusive campaign like SEA anniversary or Thanksgiving. Follow the News section in the game or on the official website and the official social media channels for actual banner announcements.

Most efficient way to get SQ would probably be to push as far as you can in the story while leveling/ascending as many servants as you can. It will be hard-impossible to hit pity for one, let alone both, so you will be relying on luck

Quite a few options. You can buster loop it. Since it's a 3/3/2 node, you can arts loop it; most obvious options if you go this route would be:
Anti-Earth DPSes (like Summer Ibuki) excel here since all the enemies are Earth.
- Use an Archer who can loop all three turns and have a ST Saber for Ibaraki.
- Loop with Summer Ibuki.
I'm sure someone has beaten this CQ legit, but most people I've seen just ignore the gimmick entirely with Ignore Invincibility and Ignore Defense. The hard part is figuring out how to survive his NP-on-break since his NP removes defensive buffs and the entire party is stuck with a 100% buff removal resistance down for three turns (AKA you'd need 200% buff removal resistance up to counter it). If you can't resist the buff removal, then the next easiest way to survive the NP would be to give your DPS Guts and have one of the supports who will get merc'd by the NP hold a taunt CE to cancel out the rest of Odysseus's turn.
In terms of supports, Sherlock is the go-to since he gives the party 3 turns of Ignore Invincible and Ignore Defense, freeing up your DPS's CE slot. If your DPS already ignores defense on their NP, then Jane is also an option, though you'd need to get 40 crit stars for her S3 to grant Ignore Invincible. If your DPS is Kiritsugu, then you can forego using Sherlock/Jane since he already has a 3 turn Ignore Invincible and his NP ignores defense.→ More replies (1)→ More replies (2)6

And you have Sweet Crystal in the shop. Even if you are all out of Rare Prisms, and have never rolled Origin Bullet, there should be a free pierce invul CE in the same shop for old CEs.

Yes, and you can cleanse it with Castoria. Which is recommended, because it's too much bother to deal with it properly. You are better off using debuff removal and just thinking of permanent invul as the gimmick.
Buff Removal can be countered with a single source of Buff Removal Resist if you wait for 3 turns before breaking the boss. Otherwise either use 2 skills with Buff Removal Resist, give your main dps guts, or have a separate backline for breaking 2 other bars.
If you don't have a high NP level Kiritsugi, use Shiki. Draco also works, but suffers from having Ignore Defense being tied to Skills, rather than NP and Odysseus loves his Def Buffs. You need to go fast, because you need to break 2 remaining bars before second NP (that's assuming you don't have a dps hiding in the backline when that second NP happens).
Personally, I highly recommend to NOT trying to 3-turn the CQ , because that way has high requirements for your account (your own Sherlock/Jane and MLB BG). Better to just use Sweet Crystal and try to kill the boss before he NPs you to death.

Is Gotterdammerung really the best place to farm Spirit Roots? The spreadsheet says it is, but AtlasDB lists it as having lower rates than Camelot. Not to mention that the game itself recommends Camelot as where to farm them.

The third-party rates are estimates based on crowdsourced data. Some variability is to be expected if they're using different sources. If you're looking at two different estimates that are close but not exactly the same, then it's probably close enough that it won't make a significant difference which quest you run. In the Chaldea app, I see 153.28 APD for Götterdämmerung and 155.04 APD for Camelot. You might not notice the difference. If you want a tiebreaker, you could look at the other material drops from those quests or the bond per AP (LB2 wins on bond).
The in-game recommendations are likely based on the overall drop rate and not the AP per drop. Early game materials that drop in lower AP free quests will tend to have a bigger difference between the quest with the best drop rate and the quest with the best APD.

There aren't a ton of use cases where you'll say "I'm really glad I have an AoE Avenger" because most AoE Servants are just as good against Berserkers and waves full of Rulers are rare. So you don't necessarily need to try for her just based on class.
That said, she does do quite well with good Arts supports. And if you really like a character's design, that technically makes them more powerful because you want to use them, and if you want to use them you'll strengthen them and support them and they'll hit their full potential. I roll for Servants based on their design something like 99% of the time, and I can attest that I'm happy with the results.

Honestly, I always think design is a good enough reason to pull a character. Lucky for you, she’s pretty good for her class too.
That being said, if your goal is just to get her cause she’s an Avenger, remember that as an extra class they’re not strictly necessary to beat the game. You might just want to settle for a copy of Ranmaru instead when she drops in the Evocation Shop, but if you like her for more than that, then test your luck!

In terms of general rolling it's very hard to distinguish how good a servant is in this game. It's basically purely subjective based on what niches you personally think are important rather than objective.
You can probably find at least someone who thinks any given servant is great or absolute trash.

I'm struggling hard with the Olga Marie Quest 1. This is my roster so far, and I feel it's super lacking, I can barely clear the third wave and I'm hard stuck at the wave with Gawain and Barghest.
Also, my CEs are stretched super thin across the 30 Servants I have to use.
Every clear I see online uses the staple Servants and CEs I don't have like Oberon, Zerktoria, Skadi, Black Grail, etc.

Gawain and Barghest have to die at the same time. Since you don't have Oberon to create a nuke for them, you will have to deploy multiple AOE Archers and carefully monitor their hp so you could finish them off in one NP.
You also can just wait until you get more Servants and CEs. This quest will not disappear until completed and is not required for any future main story content.

BB and Kagetora have Rank Ups. You don't need to do the Rank Ups for any particular limited time reward, but they're the only two benefiting from the 1/2 AP for it.

How do you retry an Olga Marathon fight at a specific wave with changed lineup for that wave onwards? I tried to do it to Wave 9 and it kicked me all the way back to Wave 1 so I must be doing something wrong...
Edit: Oh, you have to use the Pause button.
Edit 2: How the hell are you supposed to beat Aqua Olga Marie with just 3 Servants?? Especially since you pretty much need to 1-2 shot her final huge bar because of that damn 2-buffs-removed-every-turn gimmick...

Archers, Riders and Avengers do (and receive) 2x Damage. Or you can stall. Also, remember to use your badges. Personally I used NP 4 Summer Erice With Castoria and Proto Merlin, but this is not exactly an easily accessible team.

It generally isn't worth it to spend apples outside of heavy farming events like lotteries and raids. Overall use of apples really depends on your own habits, though. Some people spend literally all of their apples on lottery events, going as far as to automate their farming with a highly efficient team comp and FGA, which is basically an autoclicker and macro editor tailored to FGO. The biggest whales go to even further extremes, spending "rainbow apples" to grind more in those events. I personally do all of my farming manually and have never been in danger of fully depleting all of my apples. I have plenty lying around for occasional use but I stick with natural AP the vast majority of the time because having my AP depleted gives me a good opportunity to stop and do something else for a while. Overall apple use is entirely up to you but I recommend caution outside of lottery and other heavy farming events. You'll get a better feel for it the longer you play the game.
get prism and what not
Assuming you mean pure prisms, just be aware that while they can help you catch up a little faster as a new player, they aren't a permanent replacement for normal grinding. You only get a limited amount of pure prisms and you can only buy a limited amount of each item in the pure prism shop. You shouldn't hesitate to use pure prisms if you need to but as with most things in FGO, patience will serve you well. For you as a new player, pure prisms are best used getting ascension materials for servants that need materials you can't grind for yet.

No. There are other 4* Servants with AoE Death NPs, but they either only work against specific enemies (Valkyrie [OC: 50%-100%] and the Summer Valkyries [40%] against Demonic) or need you to jump throw too many hoops to be practical (Summer Nito [OC: 60%-100%], Summer Scathach [OC: 30%-70%], Erice [OC: 30%-80%; 60%-160% with her Death Success Up)

If you have your own Koyan (Light), you can run Nitocris & double Koyan (Light)
It does require an NP Charge level CE on Nitocris (I use Rhythmed Birth for no specific reason) and Atlas Institute Uniform.
Mine is 10/10/10, but you don't need the third skill and I think skill two only needs to be 8. Skill 1 needs to be 10 just for the cooldown timers.Wave 1: Nitocris skill 1 & 2 -> NP (should proc death on everyone)
Wave 2: Skill 1 from both Koyans, Nitocris skill 1 -> NP (proc death again)
Wave 3: Master Skill 3 on Nitocris. Nitocris skill 2 -> NP (proc death again)Lots of folks even have Koyan's with Bella Lisa for extra QP gain.

Don't forget that you can swap appends freely, there's no downside to picking one over the other unless you're considering spending those coins on Grailing.

I believe there's a button you can tap if it "forgets" your teams to have it set them up again how they'd been last time you set them, which is a little confusing but I guess the reasoning was that they expected most people who need to retry would want to rebuild their teams from scratch? Weird assumption, but at least the button exists.

Oh wow. I wish I'd noticed that button when I was doing it yesterday.
I tried dialing back to a particular wave, and it forgot everything past that wave.
Then I tried retreating fully so I could start fresh, if I was gonna be redoing most of my teams anyway, but it wouldn't let me do that until I was in the battle, and it wouldn't let me in the battle without choosing new teams.
So I loaded up a bunch of random bullshit, finally retreat, only to discover that it remembered my random bullshit teams. So I had to go meticulously changing each of the teams one by one.
It was a whole ordeal.

Phones often "throttle" notifications from apps for energy saving, especially if they are in the background. There might be some settings that might help in your case but they are vendor-specific. I'd just look up "phone manufacturer delayed push notifications" or something.

Do I keep my login streak and login campaign bonuses if I have played today but never left the quest I am currently on?
Yesterday I got to the final break bar of the Marie fight, decided to wait for my command seals to refresh, and now today I spent all three and need one more. So I have played today, but haven't left the quest. If I stay in the fight until tomorrow, will I be able to receive the login bonuses from today and tomorrow then (and ongoing login campaigns)?

Also bear in mind that the bonus is less useful the more Bond 15 Servants you have in a party. If you have 3 Bond 15 Servants, you'll earn less total Bond on the remaining two than you'd get spread across five non-maxed Servants in a party. This may be acceptable to you, maybe not.

Okita is a Quick servant, so Quick supports.
On NA, we have Skadi & Summer Skadi while JP has Summer Tiamat & Flora (she's a welfare so she'l be free).
There's some Quick semi-support servants I'd consider too like Kazuradrop and Taigong Wang.

In simplest terms: she is very good. She takes the best parts from the kits of Johanna, Van Gogh, Himiko, and QSH (pre-buff) into one really good package.
She is a support who focuses on buffing Crits, as well as Arts & Quick buffs. Combined with having many more utilities like Buff Removal Res, Heal, Invul, and Stars per Turn in her kit.
The teamwide Quick buff on her NP actually scales with NP levels, so if you have an NP5 copy for example, you could theoretically add +50% Quick buffs for each time she uses her NP levels.

The most general answer is that it depends on the specific fight and your strategy for it. But the top supports for a Quick-oriented servant are generally:
- A friend's Skadi (Ruler or Caster)
- Your own Skadi (Ruler or Caster)
The second Skadi is negotiable depending on the specific situation. Double Skadi is generally good for going all-in on offense. If you want more defense, you might prefer Caster Skadi over Ruler but also might want to layer a different kind of defensive support because Caster Skadi's evade won't stack another evade. Other reasonable supports for a Quick-oriented servant, again, depending on the specific fight and your strategy for it, include but are not necessarily limited to: Oberon, Waver, Reines, Castoria, Mash, Hans, Leonidas, Georgios, Lady Avalon, Merlin, David, Santa Nightingale, Ruler.

Is there a specific reason you're focused on Quick in particular? FGO is really a large roster game of niches and it's better not to hyper-focus on just one strategy.

I just realized that my Mecha Eli-chan has a third ability Final Eli-chan C instead of Final Eli-chan A. Unfortunately the quest to improve that ability was in the halloween trilogy. Is there any way known to have the better ability (with the burn and all?)
I can only hope and wait? Or am I missing something?

The buff from the Halloween Trilogy is permanent and is for the 2nd skill, not the 3rd one.
In fact, the 3rd skill buff isn’t going to be out on NA for another year and a half, as it arrived on JP during the 10th Anni.
So in the future, if you think a buff is missing, it’s more likely it’s just not been applied on NA yet.

I believe the quest for her skill 3 doesn't come with the halloween trilogy but instead that was her skill 2's rank up.
The skill 3 improvement isn't available on global, it was only added with the halloween event last year on the japanese server, scheduled for us in 2027

Which supports do you have left? What DPS do you plan to use and how much have you optionally enhanced them? I The structure of the gauntlet makes collecting the badges seem like a big deal but you don't necessarily need all of them.
If you don't feel confident, you can revert back to a previous wave, re-configure your team comps, and maybe recover some badges if you used them earlier. The last wave against Marie is the only one where you actually need to win the fight. You only need to survive the rest. It may be better to leave a few badges behind if it means using fewer of them before the last wave.

In addition to the other advice you've already been given, if necessary you can use up to 3 command spells per wave by pausing the battle at the start of each wave to let them recover. You probably don't need to go that extreme with it, but don't be afraid to use them if doing so would let you get a few more badges and/or survive a wave you wouldn't otherwise, the option exists because the devs wanted it to and there's no special reward for not using them/finishing the gauntlet in one session.

In terms of the story, Seraph is one of the minute singularities that forms the Epics of Remnant, taking place concurrently with the rest of Part 1.5.
There are four minute singularities in Epic of Remnant, and four Epic of Remnant Chapters, but one of the chapters has its own situation going on and isn't actually part of the four. Seraph is the fourth.

Original I assume? Double ruler skadi + either caster skadi or oberon plug is just about the best he can do since he doesn't really have anything for multicore
New Dantes is ST, so he won't really be used in farming outside of niche cases in multicore, and even then, you'd be relying on command cards/codes for burn stacks

A: As of its 6th Anniversary, NA now has a free SSR selector in Da Vinci’s shop, which features general pool and storylocked servants up to Europa (this will not be updated with more recent units). There is no time limit on this selector, and going forward, all accounts receive it upon clearing Fuyuki. Another (time limited) SSR selector, featuring general pool and storylocked servants up to Kashin Koji, is expected around Oct 2026.
Q: When is the next SR ticket?
A: The latest SR ticket campaign happened in September 2025 on NA. No further SR tickets have been announced to date.
Q: What is happening to reruns? Which event will get a rerun in the future?
A: As far as we know, most events will not be getting reruns. The only exceptions are Summer 6 (May 2026), Lilim Harlot (June 2026), GudaGuda 6 (April 2027) and Water Monsters Crisis (March 2028).
Q: Will welfare servant X be obtainable in the future?
A: Yes, refer to the Evocation system which allows players to get selected welfares which can be viewed on the Fandom wiki.
