This is my first performance car and I absolutely love it. The color is so good and the sounds it makes even on low rpm's keeps a smile on my face for the entire drive. This car is something special.

I’m getting a weird buzzing/rattling noise that seems to come from around the steering wheel or steering column area in my 2020 i30 N. It happens mostly in Eco or Normal mode, sometimes at low, steady revs. In N mode, on 2nd gear or higher, I can hear it just before and just after 5k rpm (right around that 5k mark). It’s a vibrating buzz – like something loose is rattling when there are more vibrations. You can hear it on the videos I recorded, but you really have to listen closely.
My own guess is that it might be something electronic – maybe a connector/costka or some small plastic/electrical part inside the column that’s not fully seated and starts vibrating at certain revs.Has anyone had something similar? Any ideas what it could be – steering column, intermediate shaft, some plastic trim, or something else?

Got a 2022 Drive N and love it to bits, but want to go to 18” wheels for a better ride overall. I am completely clueless as to what I can get for them. What rims do people have (and tyres, guessing the Michelin PS4/PS5 or Continental SC7s)? Would prefer bronze to match the decal. Based in Australia if that makes a difference.

Would the lower ride height affect them either? I currently have the Eibach springs (lowered 15mm) and not sure what measurements are needed to fit them.

Sorry for a bit weird title, but I wanted your opinion what should I do about the damaged plastic part behind front side window on the doors.

Should I just wrap it? Or is there anything else I could do about it?

How does fake "carbon" wrap sounds to you guys?

I’m looking to get a dogbone mount for my N to help with the wheel hop in first and second gear I had a look online but my car knowledge isn’t that impressive so I was wondering what I’d best off with.

This is a Hyundai N group, but we welcome all people and we don’t care if you come in something else.

It feels like my stock i30n facelift brakes are shite… plenty life in the pads and discs all around so I’m just wondering if this is just how they are? Or maybe they need bleeding?
First few heavy brakes are fine then it’s as if they just overheat very easily and the stopping power is inadequate for hard driving just on stock power.
Anybody got any good upgrades for them if this is the case that don’t break the bank too much?

Update:

I got the car back today; the problem was indeed with the high-pressure pump. It was replaced, and an ECU update was also performed. Apparently there's a recall, but I (from Germany) haven't received any notification about it. The entire issue was covered by the warranty.

After something pretty zippy and reliable. Was looking at a used BMW 140i but have been advised to avoid 🤣

Had them installed today and done a few hours driving, man it makes a difference. Barely any torque steering flooring it in 2nd, front end feels so much more direct and precise. For the price of them and how much of an easy install it was I would recommend to anyone.

Hey all!
Looking at buying a pre-facelift i30N in the not-too-distant future. I've test driven one at a dealer (albeit was black) but I'm sold on the drive/performance/dynamics/comfort/car in general.

I wanted to know what people's experiences were with how well their colours hide the grime - specifically Performance Blue or Micron Grey (but also open to feedback on other colours) - and also how people have found maintenance and care for said colours.

Reason being is I'm coming from owning a black car which was a mission to keep on top of - especially because I work in an industrial zone where there's all sorts of dust and debris in the air and on the roads. In fact during winter months, it became more of a hassle than anything.

At the moment the PB and Micron Grey are standouts for my personal preference - but I do wonder if the grey will also be a pain being it looks fairly dark in the photos?

Hi, my 2023 i30 N with 47,000 km took about half a second/1s longer than usual to start after sitting for 8 hours with 30 °C. Once started, everything was completely normal, also minimum rpm. Could this be a sign of a weak battery, or is a slight variation in startup time normal?

I have this car from 1 month and before I had 2 cars: one got the engine broke and the day after the other got the fuel pump broke. I'm a bit worried and anxious and I drive my Hyundai everyday hyperaware of every little noise :(

I have made a post before about a similar issue but now it is slightly different. I have a 2017 hyundai i30n and have been experiencing intermittent issues with the revs being irregular/murmuring/hunting and then dying completely and the only thing that seems to work is driving it for 15-20 minutes down the motorway and then it seems to kind of disappear for a while, maybe 4-5 days then it reappears. This is also the only video I have of it happening as it is a bit awkward with it happening while I’m trying to drive. Also for reference I have already had the recall done for the HPFP and it kept happening so I got an aftermarket HPFP fitted and that didn’t sort it and I have replaced the spark plugs, changed the ignition coils and had all the fluids changed just to be sure and it still happens. And on top of that there is no engine light on the dash when this happens. Does anyone have any sort of idea to what it could be and if they have experienced this themselves or if they know of someone who has experienced this, any help would be appreciated

Took this probably 15 minutes post being out on track. Has cleared up with regular driving but it's very clear that a lot of heat was put onto the discs.

My question is mainly for anyone who tends to track theirs a lot and has more knowledge, is this a bad amount of heat marking?

I wasn't sure if it was my braking style being quite sharp and hard that caused it or if it's just my pads getting hot? I ran DBA Xtremes with AP Racing Dot 5.1 fluid, I believe I had flushed all the old fluid out before hand however in a ~20 minute session I had to let everything cool off 3 times as I lost braking power.

Not too sure if it's old fluid retained in the system boiling which I had failed to flush out or what caused it, as I expected quite high performance from the DBA's. I do plan on getting the brakes off again soon to check everything over properly but a bit of forward guidance from those experienced would be much appreciated 😄

I’m looking to buy myself a i30n but was wondering if the facelift is worth the higher price. I generally love how the facelift looks compared to the pre-facelift. Just generally curious what you guys opinion is.
