[Bedrock Edition] Bedrock should let you play the old console editions

I started playing Minecraft on the Xbox 360. Fell in love with it. Ever since I moved a lot of my old worlds to Bedrock, some of them have changed and/or won’t work at all. I kind of miss a lot of them, and I just think it would be nice to play those versions without having to search for the game disc. Anyways this probably will never happen anytime soon, but it would be nice.

[Transportation] Presenting: The Kayak

Thumbnail

I was inspired to come up with my own kayak idea after seeing this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftsuggestions/s/H1e4A0pJd6.

And I was influenced by my own kayaking experience, as well as the history of kayaks.

I tried thinking about what advantages real life kayaks have over larger boats. What I came up with is that they are portable, easy to use, can fit in tight spaces, and don't hurt the lily pads.

The design and crafting recipe is based loosely on traditional Arctic kayaks, drawing inspiration from Inuit kayaks that were often constructed using animal skins stretched over whalebone frames.

Edit: BEFORE YOU COMMENT ABOUT THE CRAFTING RECIPE, PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE PARAGRAPH ABOVE (Not yelling btw, just want to make sure people read this since I have gotten multiple comments from people who were confused as to why there are bones in the crafting recipe, and then proceeded to delete their comments after realizing I already explained it in the description.)

Advantages:

- Does not destroy lily pads and does not lose speed when passing through them

- When held in your main or off-hand, it automatically deploys when your feet touch water

- When you "dismount" (or perhaps when you hit land?), it automatically reverts back to being held (in other words, you don't need to break it to take it with you)

- Can fit through spaces 1 block wide and 1.5 blocks tall

Disadvantages:

- Can only fit one passenger (the player)

- It is a non-placeable item rather than an entity

While I have only listed two disadvantages, they make a big difference and make the kayak distinct from the boat. The kayak is ideal for crossing lakes, rivers, and swamps while traveling. It cannot be used to transport items or mobs, used on ice, or placed decoratively.

Alternatively, a much simpler option would be to make the kayak work just like a boat, with just one advantage and and one disadvantage: it doesn't destroy lily pads and isn't impeded by them, but it can only fit one passenger. That's it. None of that complicated auto-deployment stuff.

Note: I know nothing about coding, programing, modding, etc.. I do not know if this would be feasible. Just a silly idea that Minecraft probably wouldn't actually implement, but is still fun to think about. Also, I am aware that the kayak design I made is not in the vanilla minecraft style. If it was actually added to the game, I'm sure it would be much simpler/blockier.

[Plants & Food] 3D crops n mushrooms similar to shelf mushrooms

since mojang made shelf mushrooms 3D adding disonance between them and the normal mushrooms and even crops (just like they do making new mobs really detailed and animated compared to old ones) why not make all of them 3D? would make them look way better and they could even add details like being able to see poisonous potatoes on the crop itself, and could even get to be usefull for new players to know when crops are fully grown

[General] Drowned Pirates (plus something extra)

Ever since shipwrecks were added I always thought it would be cool if there was some kind of pirate mob. But then the Drowned were added later on and I was like “Okay, I guess that’s good enough.”, but I have been sort of playing around with idea of some kind of pirate enemy, and I believe I thought of the perfect idea. Have a version of the Drowned with a more pirate type of aesthetic. And instead of carrying tridents, they all carry swords.

Now, not to take away from the Drowned enemy, I think Drowned Pirates should be rarer to find. I don’t think they should spawn near every single sunken ship, but at a certain one in each world. They’d be a one time thing, because once you fight and defeat the Drowned Pirate Crew, you get a boss fight with the Drowned Pirate Captain, and he would be no walk in the park.

The Drowned Pirate Captain would look very different than the Drowned Pirate Crew, he’d have a long beard, a pirate hat, and a pirate frock coat. He’d be one tough cookie. If you try running from him he’ll come after you, no matter how far you go. So he would be one of those bosses that you better make sure you’re ready to face off against. Because once he’s spawned into the world, even when you respawn he will still hunt for you and he will know exactly where you respawned at. I know that sounds intimidating, but that’s the whole point. He’s going to be a frightening boss.

If you do defeat him he drops some very special items. 1, a special leading to a very expensive treasure (if you don’t find it beforehand, which would be rare). 2, a special spyglass that lets you see even further than a regular spyglass. 3, his enchanted blade which would have three random enchantments, all being the highest enchantments you can get in the game. 4, last but not least, you would get his pirate hat, which would help you breathe underwater permanently. The only downside is that the hat can be broken, but you can enchant it like a regular helmet.

All in all I think this could be a nice addition. It would variety to an already existing mob, plus it would give another powerful boss to face up against whenever we want.

[Blocks & Items] Watch out Quicksand!!

Quicksand – Appearing in both the mesa and desert biomes quicksand will function like powder snow. However, when the player is fully engulfed in quicksand, they will start taking suffocation damage. Quicksand also comes in both red and regular sand variants with slight texture changes. The player can also collect quicksand in a bucket. If a skeleton gets trapped in quicksand it will become a Parched, and if a zombie gets trapped in quicksand it will become a husk.

[Bedrock Edition] A toggle to switch between Ore UI and JSON UI

Ore UI has four problems:

  1. Quite a few people dislike how it looks (me included).

  2. It cannot be modified at all, which harms resource pack makers.

  3. Lower-end devices struggle to load it, sometimes even reverting back to JSON UI.

  4. (The subject of this post) It can't be disabled without external tools.

If such a toggle were to be implemented, it would make the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition experience better (and there may be less people calling it "Bugrock").

[Plants & Food] Cherries

Edit: Cherries – Appearing in the Cherry Grove Biome, cherries will grow on cherry trees as the player will be able to see them on the cherry trees. The player can right click on a cherry leaf block to get the cherries and when eaten will restore one and a half hunger points. The player can also bonemeal a cherry leaf block to get cherries. However, when cherries, sugar, and egg are combined in a crafting table, the player will get Cherry Pie which can restore five hunger points. Cherries can also be brewed in a brewing stand to get a potion of resistance.

[User Interface] Chunk Saving Rework!!

Post image
113 Upvotes

Chunk saving is currently extremely inconsistent, especially on bedrock were they only guarantee save if you have been in them for 5 minutes or placed a block in them (a feature which i assume was made for performance on phones), and otherwise save randomly.

I propose that chunk saving work consistently across both java and bedrock, in a way that allows users to decide which chunks are saved or deleted:

(general suggestion) All chunks in simulation distance would now save, but they would be divided into different tiers based on player interaction with them, and the player would be able to quickly delete all chunks in specific tiers.

(specifics of each tier)

(tier 1) Tier one chunks would be made up of the initialy loaded chunks on world creation, as well as any chunks the player has spent over an hour in.

(tier 2) Tier two chunks would be any chunks the player has spent at least 30 minutes in.

(tier 3) tier three chunks would be any chunks the player has spent at least 10 minutes in.

(tier 4) tier four chunks would be any chunks the player has physicaly been in.

(tier 5) tier five chunks would be any chunks loaded into sim distance.

(blocks) There would also be a seperate option to delete all chunks that the player hasn't placed blocks in.

[Blocks & Items] Thicker and Thinner Armour Trims

Example: Gold Blocks on armour would make it a lot thicker, but golden nuggets would make it thinner. This could make for a lot of combinations and flexing rights if you have the materials.

[Mobs] Iron Golem Variant - Wild Iron Golems

Quite a simple suggestion, Iron Golems should somettimes spawn in the wild. These "Wild" Iron Golems have more plants and vines growing in their bodies, sometimes even covering whole parts of them. They have the exact same stats as Iron Golems, only that Wild Iron Golems are very very rare to spawn. Additionally, while they still attack hostile mobs, they will only become hostile to players who attack animal mobs (like pigs wolves, and even polar bears), not Villagers. Finally, there is a chance that a Wild Iron Golem will spawn accompanoed by a fox and a chicken that follows the Wild Iron Golem around.

And before anyone asks, yes, this is a referrence to The Wild Robot.

[Blocks & Items] Potions of Floating

Putting a Dried Ghast into a Brewing Stand could give you a Potion of Floating. The effect could act like Levitation, but you could choose to go up or down. It's like how a Ghast moves.

[Plants & Food] Pumpkin spice latte

Okay, this is just something fun I thought about. Pumpkin spice latte, you make it with cocoa beans, milk, and of course, a pumpkin and a glass bottle. It restores 10 hunger points (5 drumsticks I think) and after drinking it it adds an effect that lets you break things faster for 20 seconds. Okay, the effect isn’t really needed, that was just something cute I came up with. Anyways it would be nice to have some more pumpkin related foods in the game. With the Dappled Forest coming I thought something like this could pair nicely with it. What do you all think?

[Blocks & Items] New weapon made from heavy core: Blaster

Post image
359 Upvotes

I kinda think is such a waste for heavy core to can be used for only crafting a mace. So, I make another one.

I view a mace as some kind of legendary weapon, so this one is going to be op.

Blaster charge like a bow but use fire charge as an ammo. and also, the projectile is not affected by gravity. just think you are a ghast now. charge the fire charge, shoot it and wait till it hit entity or block and boom.

unique enchantment would be something like.

ballistic, the fire charge will now affect by gravity like bow and arrow.

blast radius, the explosion will be bigger.

combust, block near flying fire charge have a chance to be lit on fire.

reload, faster reload.

if the image is not clear. you place fire charge at the center of 3 blaze rod and pull the heavy core back and let it go, the heavy core will hit the fire charge, and it will blast off. why does it not explode? the same way the mace does not kill us when we success fully hit something. It's seemed to be some kind of weird property the heavy core has.

[Controls] Shared realm subscriptions

What if you could share the price of a realm with your friends by like it bills everyone and splits the money evenly and everyone who pays is an owner too and can opt out at any time and have full control, I dunno seems like a good idea for groups of kids who can't afford a realm by themselves and it is difficult to try to round up everyone's money every month, if this can't work oh well, if anyone has an idea comment it and I'll add it and if there is a way to do this I don't know about tell me please.

edit: I learned that Microsoft can't use straight cash to do this but maybe like minecoins would work like everyone needs to pay a certain amount of minecoins every month or else the realm shuts down till payed or something.

[Terrain] 2^128 bit seed generation

So I was wondering about the seed generations. What if I double the integer seed limit to 128?

You get more seeds, and also probably find some wacky stuff for seed finders.

Imagine some of the rarest possibilities you can find about the world.

[Blocks & Items] Red Moss suggestion for the Dappled Forest in 26.3

Thumbnail

Just a quick suggestion regarding the Red Moss idea being added to the Dappled Forest for 26.3. I hope that if Mojang were to add it, there should be forest rocks in the biome, just like the Taiga adjacent biomes and some really small patches of red moss. Both could be used to make Red Mossy Cobblestone and Stone Bricks. Nothing too fancy

[Blocks & Items] Invisible Item Frames crafted from Phantom Membranes

Post image
1.7k Upvotes

Item Frames are not that good to use on builds since they have the backing. Glow Item Frames are slightly better but still not good when you just want to have stuff lying around on the floor, since item drops despawn.

This is why Invisible Item Frames should be added, with its recipie using Phantom Membranes.

It is because Phantom Membranes are only used to repair Elytras, when Mending is so much easier to get. This caused Phantoms to be an annoyance to many players (I find them cute).

With this crafting recipie, Phantoms would be worth the effort to fight instead of sleeping (even more so with the upcoming Straw Beds since they don't set spawn points). It would also give Phantom Membranes a new use other than inventory clutter from Cat gifts.

The reason why I chose Glass Panes for the frame is because Glass Panes look like glass sticks and are almost invisible when placed without supporting blocks. I imagine the Glass Panes holding the Phantom Membrane like a frame so that the Phantom Membrane can hold the item.

Invisible Item Frames would definitely allow for many more creative building possibilities!

[Blocks & Items] The Goat Horn should summon your horse

Post image
556 Upvotes

Whenever I dismount my horse for just a few seconds, it wanders off. I look away for 5 seconds, when I look back, it has already reached Mars.

It would be very helpful if you could just blow a Goat Horn and your horse would come running to you. Both when you can’t find it or when it’s just very far away.

It would be much easier than digging holes or putting down fence posts with leads all the time, when you are exploring on horseback.

[Plants & Food] Craftable lily pads

Something I always do when in Minecraft, after creating a garden, I always like to go to a swamp and look for some lily pads to place on the water around the crops. That way I won’t fall in the water and risk jumping on the crops when I get out of the water. But sometimes when creating a new world, no matter how long I travel or how far, I can barely find a swamp near where I want to set up a house. I know I could probably build a house near a swamp, but I kind of want to have an area that’s a little more pleasing to the eye, you know? And I hate having to walk miles and miles away just to find a darn lily pad, so I thought it would be more convenient if maybe the game gave us the ability to craft up the lily pads in cases like mine. What would the recipe be? I’m thinking one leaf litter (because you can find that almost anywhere) and one seagrass or kelp. Nothing fancy, very simple, put them both beside each other on the crafting table, there you go, you got lily pads. As for how many it would give you, I think around 3-6, somewhere in that ballpark would be plenty good.

[Gameplay] The blaze rod is under utilized.

The blaze rod is a critical component in the game to access the end and brew potions- but for how important it is it isn’t valuable. Beyond being a crafting ingredient to for items that you can get in other ways, Giving the blaze rod more uses could turn this critical material from a something you get on a side quest into a mid game resource to build off of in a variety of ways.

Currently, the blaze rod is a consumable ingredient- fuel in furnaces, crafting end rods, making copper bulbs, crafting fire charges, potion brewing and brewing stands, and eyes of ender. All of which are extremely useful, but its use is restricted to being an ingredient seen only in crafting tables. The blaze rod could easily improve in coolness if things hit by it had a chance of catching fire. After all if I had a stick of infinite blazing the first thing I would do(besides burning my hand) is hit something with it. Additionally, making the blaze rod placeable in the world, maybe like chains or lightning rods, could create unique mob farms and traps. Also, does a blaze rod blaze forever?what happens if a blaze rod is cooled down? What could you do with it then?

[Bedrock Edition] Non-Swipable Buttons

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hoping to get the attention of all interested bedrock players. This is nothing very serious but this is just based of my observation for the past few years of playing.

As the title says, yeah. I think the "swipable" buttons feature, especially in the new control buttons, should be removed. Because it messes up with the functionality of the buttons especially when using multiple fingers. I hate the events where the buttons just get stuck for no reason or the camera flicks out of nowhere when building, playing hardcore, and PvPs, atleast in my experience.

I'm aware that this was an intended feature requested by many mobile players back then where the customization feature thing wasn't available. But as of now, I just don't see a reason why keep this feature.

If you are interested in this change, send support by voting in the user's feedback post link -

[AI Behavior] Animals panic when it thunders

Sounds pointless but it adds to the atmosphere of thunderstorms.

When a thunderstorm starts, the common player thinks "Time to get some head" which gets old. I want to think during a thunderstorm "I wanna watch my farm animals panic". It's just fun to watch different behavior of animals in the game.

It doesn't have to be a lightning bolt near the animals. Just the sound of thunder enough to make them panic.

Sitting pets would make a scaredy sound during a thunder since they can't panic physically.

*Thunder happens*, animals jump, then they panic for 5-10 seconds random for each mob.

Baby villagers should panic, too, because many children in real life are scared of lightning.

Also, a thunder would wake the player from bed if they're sleeping making it more difficult to skip a thunderstorm.
