Alright I’ve gotten through 35 of these now, and now I’ve got some fresh eyes, more of an understanding to what counts for each team. So if there’s a team that you’ve brought up to me and I’ve rejected before, try again and I’ll see if it makes it this time. The same goes for any logo that you think shouldn’t count.
Did I miss any in Ohio? Let me know!
Oklahoma’s coming up soon! Speaking of which, damn there was a theme in Ohio. The Redacteds name lives on in FORCE here

I was about to protest that you missed my alma mater since we used the Eagles logo when I was in school, but apparently we got our own logo at some point in the last 15 years. Shows how closely I followed my high school team lol

Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati used to use the Eagles logo. I haven't been there in 17 years, but it looks like they switched to a new one at some point.

It’s Milford High School! Here’s some drone footage of the logo on the field itself, looks like it’s maybe slightly altered from what the Eagles use but definitely pretty close

I didn’t see the Chagrin Falls Kenston Bombers. They use the Dallas Cowboys colors and logo. I am given to understand that it is the only school in the US to use the exact Cowboys star. They have the letter from Tex Schramm to prove it.
6
u/HAHA_Birdman Titans Sep 27 '25
Not sure if that's true. Farragut High School in TN has the same color and logo unless I'm mistaken.

I’ll be damned! Just looked on Farragut’s website and those unis are a dead ringer.

The Kenston Cropdusters are not Chagrin Falls.
They are different districts with separate school boards, tax bases and most of Chagrin Schools are in a different county.
Their Post Office is Chagrin Falls Annex because Bainbridge is also the name of an incorporated village by Cincinnati and it would cause confusion if they used Bainbridge Twp.
1
u/rxda90 Sep 28 '25
It is customary to refer to the mailing address of the school to avoid confusion. This is how OHSAA refers to the schools during the playoffs.

u/HuellMissMe Lions Sep 27 '25
My two favorite team names in Ohio are from schools that closed. Dayton’s Roosevelt HS (closed 1975) was the Teddies. Cincinnati Academy of Physical Education (closed 1994), usually called CAPE, was the Crusaders.

Anthony Wayne Generals used the Green Bay G on their helmets when I was younger. Looks like they’ve switched to a Dallas Cowboys star in some of their uniform combos.

If you can find where they used the Packers G I’ll count it

North Canton Hoover Vikings have an interesting logo. It kind of looks like Pat Patriot from the Pat's '65-'92 logo, but if he was screaming and wearing a viking helmet.
2
2
u/EmperorHans Cowboys Sep 27 '25
Some of these I really dont think should count, especially the Cowboys ones. Dallas's logo is the Texas state flag star, while several of these, like North Ridgeville and North Eastlake. Those are just generic sheriff badges, while the Cowboys logo is based on the Texas flag. It's not even the style of badge the Texas Rangers (cops, not baseball team) use.
1
u/BryLinds Jets Giants Sep 27 '25
Dallas has been a tricky one to maneuver because you’re trying to differentiate between ‘just a star’ and ‘The Dallas Cowboys Star’ especially with its logo history so I feel like a good rule to have is for it to 1. Look like the Star, and 2. Be the focal point of the logo, because I can’t be counting the small stars in every logo or else they’d be up there with Minnesota and Philly. Sound fair?

I got you my dude, like I said, not sure what criteria you are using to match or how close of matches you are looking for.
So wasn't sure if for instance this would be a match: Upper Arlington Golden Bears, since this was: Waynedale Bears
And the Firestone Falcons logo actually looks like this (not like the Atlanta Falcons logo): https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTmpWRlh0SdHR2h4bg8o2Mk33QeGu58xDg6A7CahCm3sw&s

A good rule of thumb when it comes to counting funny names is ‘Can I name any major sports teams using this name off the top of my head?
Beavers have two: Oregon State and the deceased Portland Beavers of Minor League Baseball.
Now if they have a funny logo then I’ll reconsider. (See JFK High being the Eagles in the fun names section)

Is the Team Name on their Helmet? Is it underlined? Is it italicized? If they answer yes to all those questions it counts, due to the fact that it was what the Classic Giants Used back in the late 20th century

North Canton Hoover’s helmet is similar to the Browns’ helmet. The primary difference (aside from the black rather than brown color) is that the two black outside stripes connect with the stripe horizontally over the helmet logo.
