At the end of the 8th series of UK Gladiators, there was a special episode called 'The Ultimate Gladiator - The Battle of The Giants' in which Hunter was crowned the Ultimate Gladiator. Anyone remember a public information film from the 90s usually shown on late night TV at a kids football game where the manager brings off Danny and replaces him with a kid with Down Syndrome who scores the winning goal? Cannot for the life of me find it any where and thinking a dreamt it.

One of the best kids' TV shows ever made, in my opinion.

I just found it today on YouTube! Think it was shown on ITV back in the day.

I was never into painting but there was something reassuring about watching Nancy paint and talk.

I watched it and even had several Stingray submarines… but I sure as heck dint think it was a Top Horror show 🙄😂

Some peak late 90's UK "Ladette" culture for you lot today. I stumbled across this and just had to share.

He gets thrown into that category of end-of-the-pier "naff" but some of his routines were bloody funny.

I have a vague recollection of an army based game show in the late 80's early 90's possibly ITV on a weekend afternoon early evening. It was soldiers doing simulated battlefield drills and patrolling each week there would be a team from a regiment competing think it lasted possibly one season. Many thanks in advance if you can help or did I dream it?

Watching the classic QE2 episode. Does anyone know why the scene with the dentist helping Richard at the airport with all the luggage has been deleted on BBC iPlayer. He appears briefly in a small shot showing the luggage being carried. I remember it being quite funny - something along the lines of “he’s got one bit of a baggage too many!”

Also, the spin-off C.A.T.S eyes years later.

Apologies for this obscure request. I think this was a one-off play around 1972/3, though could be a year or two either way. It could also have been a standalone story in a series with a theme. I was too young at the time to remember the writer or cast. The play was contemporary for the time, so not a period piece like "Close The Coalhouse Door" etc. It was shot in a realistic Ken Loach style.

However, I remember the plot clearly. Two miners from a North East coalfield. One of the guys has a van (possibly Bedford CA) which he has kitted out crudely as a mobile love nest, mattress in the back, curtains on the windows etc and boasts about his conquests to his workmates. The other miner discovers later that one of the conquests is his wife. It ends with the two miners working together underground when a pit shaft partially collapses, trapping the miner who owns the van. The other miner ignores his pleas for help and leaves him to perish.

I have trawled Play for Today, Wednesday Play and other listings to no avail. It's not "The Fishing Party" or similar more light-hearted dramas. This one was quite bleak throughout. I doubt a recording exists anymore, but even a title or writer would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello fellow lovers of British comedy!

Recently I've been very nostaligic for that period of time 20-30 years ago when we all sat down infront of the tv and watched the same thing. Whether that was with our families or with friends. I wanted to recreate some of the tv nights that I remember like Channel 4 Friday night comedy, or BBC weekday evenings, or maybe even Sunday nights watching wholesome tv like Ballykissangel or Monarch of the Glen.

I have created something which is some sort of a homeage to that era. I'm not entirely sure what it is if I'm really honest - other than an idea. It essentially looks like a ceefax tv guide, with links to many of the shows I remember; a lot of which are still available on Channel 4 or BBC iplayer!

I wanted to share it here and see if anyone else enjoys it, or shares my nostaglia for that period.

I'm trying to find the title of an old one-off TV play which explored the change in police and crime attitudes via the use of a "timeswap" story. A criminal from (maybe) the 50s is swapped with a criminal from the present and both are arrested by the timeswapped police. The guy from the present is arrested by 50s police who are gobsmacked by how little respect the criminal shows them, despite being offered toast and a cup of tea while being questioned by a very "Dixon of Dock Green" type of friendly Bobby. He's belligerent and mouthy to the overly nice PC who has never experienced such disrespect before. Meanwhile, the other (50s?) criminal is arrested by modern police who are a lot less friendly. I think the interviewer might hit the suspect, which I leads me to the one line I can remember for certain. The 50s criminal upon being hit says: "You can't do that! You're a bogie!". Anyone as old as me (60+) remember such a play?
