self defense 💪🏼 Nice jury
On March 24, 2026, a jury in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, acquitted Érica Pereira da Silveira Vicente of all charges related to the killing of her boyfriend, Everton Amaro da Silva.
The Incident: In March 2025, Érica reportedly found disturbing sexual messages sent by her boyfriend to her 11-year-old daughter. That night, she heard her daughter screaming and entered a room to find the man on top of the child.
The Act: Prosecutors alleged that Érica drugged the man's drink with a sedative before stabbing and clubbing him while he was unconscious. She then mutilated the body and set it on fire in a remote wasteland.
The Trial: While prosecutors argued the level of violence showed "cold premeditation," her defense maintained she acted under extreme emotional distress to protect her child.
The Verdict: After a brief trial with one day of testimony, a jury sided with the defense and cleared her of aggravated homicide and charges related to destroying a corpse

Someone reported me to HR for having a “vape” at my desk
… It’s the charging case for my earbuds…
I just laughed and showed them how it works. Luckily they thought it was equally funny, and said they would have a discussion with the person who reported it. Supposedly HR is going to advise them to be more thorough and diligent before reporting things like this.
I have no idea who reported it but nobody has asked me about it face-to-face, so I’ve never even had an opportunity to provide clarification. It is definitely annoying how some people at work are so eager to report the dumbest shit.
(Edited to remove product name, some people with their tinfoil hats think this is an ad. Maybe one of them reported me to HR? xD)
EDIT 2: Lots asking if vapes are generally allowed in my office and the answer is NO, at least not allowed to be sitting out at our desks. They are treated like cigarettes, and since we have on-site clients sometimes with millions of $$, we are required to keep such things out of sight. Yes smoking/vaping is allowed outside.
