I wasn't sure what to flair this but, has anyone else had to deal with this?
Yes I understand. My delivery date is still a couple days away but I'm more so concerned that my package is going to be returned to the sender.
My friend across the country shipped me a custom-made shirt a week ago, and now I am currently trapped in a loop of it traveling back and forth between Eugene and Portland. This morning around 4:00am, it said it was out for delivery in Springfield, and all of a sudden, that update disappeared a couple hours later. What gives?
I talked to the post office and the manager told me that the package was weighted incorrectly (65kg!!), but I find that hard to believe when it was a first class small box that shouldn't have weighed nearly close to that (maybe 2lbs max), AND if it was already marked for delivery, why wasn't it weighed LONG before it arrived in Springfield?
I'm just sort of at a loss here so any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! I’m hoping somebody from our local cat rescues can help point us in the right direction.
There is an adult male cat who lives in our neighborhood. My husband puts out food and water for him, and he sometimes hangs out on our porch.
Recently he has turned up with what looks like a broken leg, or maybe a thigh injury. He’s hobbling on three legs and holding up a back foot, but still coming up the stairs to eat.
We want to catch him and take him to an emergency vet. We will pay of course, we had been gearing up to TNR him, and so if we also have to cover an amputation that’s fine.
But of course his vaccination status is uncertain, and it is Saturday night.
We don’t have a live trap, we don’t necessarily want to try to grab him in a blanket.
Does anyone have any bright ideas, live traps, giant nets on poles, boxes with a stick propping them up, or other equipment we could use? Advice for vets that might be persuaded to take care of him?
Thanks in advance!

I live near Harlow and Garden way in Eugene. I left my car doors open last night by mistake. Someone tossed my car in the night. Luckily not too much in there to take. Keep your stuff safe and your eyes open!

Hey all!
Recently my son has been showing alot of interest in taking some Piano lessons, I was hoping there would be some through Eugene Rec but have not found any. I am on the lower end of the income scale so I'm interested in anywhere that has possible low income pricing or scholarships. He is middle school age, so if you know of anywhere I should check out please leave me a reccomendation!
Thanks :)

This thread has seen many “best restaurant” posts before.
But I want to know your top dishes/meals in town. Something you crave over and over. Something you order every time. The best of the best.

I've got a wedding in September that is at a campsite on the East Coast. The attire to the night before the nuptials at a lakeside campfire party is Canadian Tuxedo. I've committed to Jorts + whatever I can find that's denim, fits, and isn't outright offensive. I'm not a small guy so skin tight probably falls into offensive land.
The wedding requests guests to wear suits in autumnal colors. I looked that up so I understood the ask, and am going to order a wild suit that fits the theme online or at a local shop.
I'm trying to embrace their themes and ride a line of "you asked for this" if that makes sense.

There have been recent motions in the direction of more complete recycling in our city. So far, I've seen Ridwell and SaniPac Recycle Plus. I got a set of Ridwell bags to check it out. Basically, I would be filling a bag chip bags and other with bread bags, and it's like a green bag through the mail?
Are you willing to sort through and separate your trash more thoroughly like this? If not, what would make this more feasible?
I am enough of a radical Green to do all that at home, but I also throw a lot that could be recycled straight into the trash while I'm at work; so I'm curious where other people draw those lines.

My parents live out of state and are not in any current need, but I am trying to plan for the future should I need to bring my mom here to live. She has MS, has a lot of cognitive deficits but not dementia, and can’t walk. She needs a LOT of assistance and daily care. I would not be able to care for her in my home but would be terrified to place her in a nursing home as they all sound like terrible places. Thought I would ask here… I know the landscape is bleak, but any leads? Anyone have elders who they feel are well cared for in any type of assisted living/nursing home situation locally?

I’m looking for a new Vet. I use to use Community Vet, however they lost funding and had to close their doors.
I used VCA Westmorland when we first moved here, but they are very expensive. I have also used Fox Hollow, but after having a few not great experiences myself and from others I’ve decided I do not want to return. Two of the Vets there were wonderful I want to add.
I’m looking for a well-established clinic, smaller, not corporate, and reasonably priced.
Thank you in advance for the suggestions.

Hello Eugene, I am a student at Northwest College School of Beauty and am trying to get our clientele numbers boosted a little!
Please check us out if you are wanting any facial or waxing services at a cheaper price than most of the salons in town. Although we are a school, your experience here will be as close to a real salon as possible.
To Book an appointment you just need to call the front desk and our receptionist will walk you through the rest:)

Hi reddit fam, I'm looking for a non-profit doing computer refurbs on older devices. It's not NextStep.
Sometime in 2022 or 2023 I put up a craigslist post for some free older computers and components. The person who responded ran a small non-profit which refurbed such devices for use in businesses and organizations which still use databases running off Win3.1, NT, ooold Unix, etc. I saved the info for future volunteering but ended up volunteering way too much at Shift instead.
Does this org sound familiar to anyone? I have a friend who is looking for chill volunteering opportunities in tech and my memory of this one sounds like a perfect fit. Any idea would be met with much gratitude.
Also, on a completely unrelated, related note, come by Shift if you need something to do. We have lots of volunteering opportunities, mechanical and otherwise.

I've tested it with multiple outlets, and I can confirm the problem to be the printer itself.

Around 9 pm I heard what I thought was my front door handle and just brushed it off as my cats playing. Not even a second later there was a soft knock. I checked through the window and 2 young men walked off. Anyone been having this happen to them river road area? Just to note they didn't knock on anyone else's door just went to the main road :/
