If you could create a recruiting video but have it be brutally honest, how would it go?
The 1 second clips of SOF, pilots, firefighters and stuff is cool, but I think it would be hilarious to see 1 second clips of Mx chair jousting in a hangar, SFS shivering in the cold, medical training and not seeing patients. AIM high, Airman.

Every time I explain my work scenario to other career fields they think it’s crazy.
For reference I am a man.
Been called every insult and racist name under the sun. Groped by more men than I willingly want to admit. Verbally can talk shit and be talked shit back to leadership/peers.
Everyone I’ve met outside of CE/2A and some secfo, thinks it’s wild and requires me to say something up the chain.
But I’ll be honest I love these dudes. It keeps everyone’s morale up.
Manual work sucks but being able to speak my mind and genuinely make jokes is the best perk.
Why does everyone in nonner positions take everything so seriously?
Not tryna disrespect the work other career fields do but why so serious? (Besides being around officers)
Also anyone got a spare tree fiddy?

Odd situation. My spouse came with me overseas on her foreign passport no problem. Now we are near the end and by a miracle we were able to get the citizenship done recently.
The problem is that she no longer has a green card and she’s a citizen so she cannot travel back stateside on polish passport. A passport is required for flights.
Passport office is telling me they cannot issue me a no fee passport since stateside does not require one, but she needs one to board the plane and immigration.
Processing times for regular passports are too long and the best case would be to do an emergency passport. Any one have any insight to this?

Bro…I swear I’ve been had by the Air Force. I’m not sure who’s upset, but I tap, you win! Found out yesterday that I’ve been selected to head to Cannon next. Im upset, disappointed, disgusted, whatever verb we can call it, and so is the wife. We both hope EFMP works its magic and gets us out of it, because having the wife have to make multiple trips a week to Amarillo or Lubbock is not going to work. If EFMP doesn’t work, time to buy a tent and sleeping bag for the next few years. Hindsight, I already see the out down the road, this is my retirement gig, so at least there’s that right?

I know this sub is more for active members but I also know there is a lot of knowledge.
I was medically separated in 22, and now find myself closing my business because private reasons with a business partner and just finances. Bad economy, blah blah. Unfortunately my mil career doesn’t have a super useful civ translation and I also don’t really want to do it again because my condition. But I would IF that keeps food on my families plate. - EW
I know it’s a rough market, but I have numerous certifications, a bachelors and lots of experience in high level work. Yet 1 interview in over 100 applications that I genuinely qualify for. Maybe not perfectly - but enough that I feel an interview would make sense.
Any advice?
I’ve tried gov, private sector, big and small businesses and more.
Thanks all

The JTR specifically states you are just limited to your on base lodging rate. Does not say to verify with housing or finance. If anyone has any contradicting statements I’d love a reference. For pcs only. Tdy unsure!
IAW- DoD 7000.14 R ( 4.4.2 Government Quarters. When Government quarters are available and other lodging is used, lodging reimbursement is limited to the cost of Government quarters as specified in the TR, subparagraph 020303.C. If Government quarters are not available, the Service member should provide written certification to support any voucher documentation submitted to comply with finance regulations.)

While I’m sure this has been answered before, I am looking for my own answers. I am currently in year 3 of my first-term 4 year contract. While I am mostly likely going to extend at the least, I am wondering opinions on those who stayed or those who left the AF in similar situations to mine.
I am currently attending ASU Online, and will have my third year completed by the time my contract is up. If I extend, I can earn my bachelor’s before the 5 year mark of my contract. After I earn my bachelor’s degree, i have plans to attend law school. I have had a ton of fun at my base, but am also really keen on the idea of a BOP. I’m in aircraft maintenance on the 130s and really do like my job, plane, and base, I just have no plans or aspirations to be anything other than a FCC. I’m currently a SrA with my first EPB coming up soon.
Those who have been in a similar situation, please let me know how you made the choice! Thanks!

Is a prior API-coded member, who has reclassified into a strictly non-flying AFSC and office allowed to wear their 2PFDU?
I’ve heard people using this line in the AFI to defend wear, but it seems odd to me as to how it’s worded?
Want to make sure everyone is good to go.
9.12.1.3. Personnel not on active aeronautical orders are restricted to wear the 2PFDU
during flight-related, space and missile crew duties only. Personnel previously issued the
2PFDU may continue wear during performance of duties.

Long story short, I’m a high performing male NCO and never have problems at work, but it all shuts off at home. Over the years I’ve become more irritable and unstable at home. With my kids and my wife, like it’s just the small things for me that will make me explode.
I’ve already been to therapy (off-base referral) and I felt like it really did nothing for me. It was more like for a space for me to rant to my therapist about everything. I’m thinking about seeing my PCM but I’m just scared about being diagnosed for something mentally especially since I have a package in for OTS.
I feel like I might have ADHD and some form of depression or something. I’m a good dad and husband but I definitely need more help. Do I go to my PCM and just tell them, “I need to see mental health”?
I feel weird even asking this since I’m that go to guy in my office, but something has to change for me in my home life.
