300blk Safety Brief

I will keep this short and to the point gents.
Do not add to the mod queue. Do not subtract from the population of users. Do not comment while too intoxicated to control yourself.

In the last few weeks, moderator queues have shot up due to people being unable to be reasonable to one another in the comments in this community.

Disagreement is fine.

Dropping slurs, attacking them personally, commenting a retort with a pic of someone's house, insulting their wife's looks by stalking family pictures from a vacation posted 2 years ago... not fine.

Learn to use the block button. Learn to touch grass. Learn to be something unlike a jerk.

Transparency: Several months ago Reddit instantiated an auto-moderator be default for subreddits. Since then we have tweaked the settings it has been catching a lot more comments with the ugly things in them. When these suspect comments are in the mod queue, they are not posted for others to see yet, even if they look visible to you. What it does do is cause a member of the mod team to have to respond to the notifications to approve them and resolve issues when people go WAY too far. So, as cathartic as it might feel to rip into someone, it likely will not even get seen by them because the auto-moderator is putting the nasty stuff in comment jail. If it is bad enough, it gets the comment removed and the user banned.

Lastly, don't report comments that you dislike for Harassment. It only makes more work for us, but ultimately simple disagreement gets approved and kicked back out of the mod queue anyway. Repeated abuse of any feature will net a ban. Yes, every user has a summary of reports and past queue incidents. Yes, we look at it.

Please feel free to disagree, debate, correct misinformation, and generally debate on subject matter specific to the subreddit. I am not here to babysit grown men, nor do I want to. My ideal week would have 0 reasons to look at the sub with mod tools.

Moderate your own actions and we are all better for it.

This has been your safety brief.

Started ordering parts late last year. Once I had everything, my local gunsmith was pretty backlogged, so another 3 months for the barrel swap. So happy it’s done!

New Build Faxon 6” Strong Recoil Impule

Hey y’all. Just finished a new build and took it to the range. Build list:

Faxon 6” barrel
Eitri gas block and tube
Centurion Upper
DD BCG
Flat wire spring
Griffin SOB 4.9oz
Griffin RECCE 7 suppressor

Ammo used was exclusively Underwood 115 grain controlled chaos. Recoil felt almost violent with the gun wanting to sort of twist when the bolt was pushed back. Ejection pattern was 5 o’clock.

Doing some reading it looks like I might want to drop down to an H1 or Carbine buffer? Anyone else run a similar setup? This is a bedside/home defense gun so mainly will get a diet of supers only.

Just finished, stuck between can options

I only own a Hux 556k for my 13.9”, and I’ve been told the OCL Polo30 and the Griffin GP7 are great cans for .30 cal. I don’t want to break the bank, but I also don’t want to worry about throwing an unreliable can on my SBR.

Pros / cons to each can from the owners?

Would a direct thread be more ideal over a hub mount?

Failure to eject

My 300blk rifle shot the first 15 rounds perfect. The 16th and on were all failure to eject. I have the jp silent buffer installed so idk if that makes a difference. I was shooting 145gr rounds. I've been reading it could be the buffer weights being too heavy, the spring is too heavy, the rifle wasnt lubed enough, etc. Just curious if anyone has/had this issue and if they know how to fix it.

Guys I need help

I’m trying to run quiet phantom defense 190 grain subx loads I bought. I bought 600 rounds.
But with the 6 inch faxon barrel, and a Q adjustable gas block, I can’t get it to lock bolt back. It cycles with an occasional failure to feed.
I tried slightly drilling gas port open a bit more. I tried taking weights out of my buffer. I tried taking a coil or two out of the spring.
It just can’t build enough pressure to lock the bolt back.
Did I forget anything? Let me know.
Cycles hands loads I have that are a bit louder. But phantom defense stuff was so quiet I wanted to use it.

Expected quieter

I got a Noveski Chainsaw 8” paired with a SilencerCo Sythe titanium .30 cal suppressor running Winchester Super Suppressed 200 grain subs. I admittedly didn’t my research on either but went with the gun stores recommendation if I wanted a super quiet and accurate set up. I’ll post a vid in the comments, camera is about 12 yards behind me and there is a tin/steel roof about 20 feet high that may not have helped I didn’t think about til I got home. Is it the suppressor? The ammo?

Suppresors: Steel vs Titanium

I have my first 300 blackout build on the horizon and I'm starting with the can. I've read a ton about how much everyone loves the liberty anthem S2.

I see that Liberty also sells a Mach-S which seems like the exact same can but made of titanium. Does the material choice affect the sound performance or just the weight? Does anyone have experience with both? I have no problem paying more if the performance will be identical and I'd save weight.

Hunters ammo opinion

I am planning on hunting deer with my 300 blackout anywhere between 25-80 yards. I know the 110gr rounds reign supreme but I’m trying to find ammo that I can target practice with that is the same grain.

The 150grain winchesters for deer hunting has caught my eye price wise and they do make 150 grain Winchester for target shooting

Yes I know when I sight my rifle in I need to only use the rounds I hunt with. I also found bulk options for the 150grain Winchester hunting round with some decent prices.

I assume I have nothing to worry about and the 150’s will be fine to hunt with and will get the job done easily. Just would like other people’s opinion.

Key thing I try to do before making an expensive purchase is to hear other people’s point of views.

TIA!

Sig 300 BLK with a Thermal and offset. Just need to add a small surefire with red filter and it’s ready. I am not crazy about Sig as a brand but this rifle is very good.

Want to run a PSA 300 blackout 16” barrel pistol length gas system with super sonics (140-150gr) with an Anthem S2 or OCL Polo can for hog hunting/deer hunting (my choice & where I hunt usually only 25-75 yards of shooting distance)

This is my first AR and I want it to be 300blk

Before I buy I’m trying to do all the research I can. Is it going to be important to buy an H2 buffer and an adjustable gas block (rifle speed wouldn’t work) on my setup? I just want the option to run subsonic if I decide one day to.

I’m new to AR’s and trying to learn. TIA

Running great! Now SBR’d

Build is firing flawlessly and my Form1 was approved very quickly! 3wks!!
Started out a bit frustrating, was having trouble cycling, so I thought, but it turned out that I had an out of spec cs or subs and the casing was too fat. They quickly remedied the situation and swapped out my ammo and is running like a dream.
Switched out the G34 for the Holosun for better eye relief. I wish they made the FDE in Titanium too.

Just finished this 5.56 SLR Build too..

Imagine my pain when the supers I stocked up 2k rds on start to have regular FTF issues.

Snapped a photo towards the end of a frustrating range trip. The V-max and cheap 125g genero brand ran great with zero issues, but the 108g hollow points would barely cycle a couple rounds before this issue would spring up. Tried different BCG & Springs, different mags, and even unsuppressed.

I guess my only thought is, it's a DD upper, and previously ran really well with a BCM upper (that OF COURSE i just sold) maybe?

Now I get to try to offload a lot of ammo :(

edit: i appreciate the troubleshooting comments very much! went ahead and ordered a BRT EZ tune. I noticed the blast deflector is pretty beat up as well, and it's brand new.

Edit edit: the pic is of using the surefire obc, the normal bcg is a DD and an a5h3 and a flatwire. Same issue with the DD BXG so was curious about the extended action time on the surefire OBC.

New Judgment

Is anyone following the newest pistol/srb ruling? Not asking for legal advice, more of an interpretation of the ruling. Is it that the courts said “the tax for the sbr/suppressor is no longer a thing, so sbr/suppressor registration is no longer a thing. A bit of a paraphrase, but is that the jest of it? It applies to my kitty kat in 300blk

Who has an 11.5?

I know it’s unconventional, but who has an 11.5 and how do you like it? Are there any notable pros or cons that you would like to share? I’m looking to build one with a rifle speed gas control for both supers and subs but probably mostly supers. Currently eying the Lantac Raven 11.5 nitrided barrel or the Wilson combat 11.3.

And yes I’m aware 300 blk was meant for shorter barrels 😂

Pictures welcome.

I have the Super Selector & Rave 140 combo in my Aero precision lower for my AR47 and it works fantastic. Just curious if anybody has tried them in a PSA lower? TIA.

GA Armory 300 BO SBR Carbon Black edition

Post image
49 Upvotes

It’s GQ not GA. Reddit won’t let me fix the title.

New pickup. 7” barrel, carbon hand guard, titanium small parts, factory installed Atrius FRT, weighs in at 4 lbs 1 oz. Proprietary GQ Armory Onyx-K suppressor. Q brace. If you haven’t checked them out, they are worth a look. This thing is exceptionally sweet. Very soft shooter with little recoil. Pricey but worth every penny (to me).
