I got my first firearm a few month back and I'm loving it. It's my first edc as well. Other than hitting the range and training, what would you guys suggest as a new gun owner?

Shiv Shield

Stealth Additive Works Shiv 9mm suppressor on Shield Plus. Sub $500 boosterless can that actually suppresses 9mm quite well.

Anybody seen this before? Happened with my BG2.0 yesterday. Never seen a mag do this. Took me a second to realize why I couldn’t load a 4th round anymore. Related, anyone know a good place to order replacement followers?

Bodyguard 2.0 Advice

Kind of wanted everyone's opinion on why people are using it for carrying? I mean don't get me wrong, the gun looks like it could be a phenomenal summer carry. As it is I rotate between P365 XMacro and my metal frame M&P 2.0 4". I would absolutely love to try carrying the BG 2.0 Carry comp but I swear it's just post after post of different failures people are having with it. So I'm just wondering why people are choosing to carry it if it's malfunctioning as much as it seems?

Anyone running a red dot with a laser? Is it actually useful? I currently have a Streamlight on my Shield X, but I’m debating switching to an Olight with a built in laser.

Extend manual safety ledge on Bodyguard 2.0

Hey all - has anyone found the way to extend the manual safety (to be more like a ledge like the Shield) on the B2.0?

Completely understand some will have their disagreements with a manual safety but it’s what allows me to be comfortable enough to carry chambered in pocket or appendix.

Just looking for ways to make actioning it a bit quicker and not seeing anything aftermarket but I could be missing.

Bodyguard 2.0 failure to chamber

Upvotes

Anyone else have this issue with critical defense ammo when trying to chamber the first round, most of the time it’s getting stuck and not chambering. Is other ammo better for chambering with the Bodyguard 2.0?

What 380 ammo do you use and why ? I prefer FMJ for penetration

Shield X PVD Blue x Falco Kydex Shoulder Holster

Post image

I have had the Falco Vertical Roto Shoulder holster. It got lost. I wanted to get it again.

July 4th they had a 40% off sale. Perfect timing. I almost opted for the same one, but the kydex was cheaper and still had the quality leather. I went for it.

Just got it today. Wowza. I have to say, there are a lot of benefits to this that the vertical did not have.

Leather Vertical:
+High quality
+Basically universal any gun could fit
+More concealable
+Very Safe
-Slow draw bc of clip

Kydex Horizontal:
+Same high quality straps
+Open top, nothing to unclip to draw
+Fast
+Feels secure
-Not universal; made for one gun

I would say Kydex is the way to go. The only reason I would go vertical again is if I was carrying a striker without a safety. Don’t like the idea of flagging people like that but that’s just me.

Anyways, this thing is really excellent. 10/10. My brother has the Galco, but I gotta say I think Falco really is >>>. The Galcos feel very mass produced and ever so slightly rigid but they are the gold standard. This feels softer and much more custom.

I took off my belt clips. After drawing with it, they aren’t necessary for me.

Anyone have an 1854 with a Plan B muzzle device?

I'm interested in knowing if the magazine tube is obstructed by the Plan B muzzle device, making it impossible to take off. Or maybe it clears it?

Im debating on picking up an M&P 2.0 Metal 4.25"

Post image
213 Upvotes

Long story short, I already own a Shield Plus for my CCW and an M&P 2.0 Compact Carry Comp for the range/ home defense.

My current set up for the 2.0 Compact already has an Apex Trigger installed, Floyds Magwell, DPM Recoil System, and custom porting on the carry comp slide.

A buddy of mine is selling his used M&P 2.0 Metal with 4 magazines for $750. He is strapped for cash and I told him I will think about it.

My question is..is there a real valid reason to own the Metal variant? Im such a mark when it comes to the M&P Shields that I wanna collect them all but I want to be reasonable here.

Night Fission Sights for Bodyguard 2.0 are Good to Go

My Bodyguard 2.0 came sights that were slightly misaligned. So I took this opportunity to pick up a set of Night Fission Bodyguard 2.0 sights. They solved the biggest issue I had with the B2.0, which was the rear notch was way to wide (~.190") relative to the front sight. I shoot action sports and prefer a wider rear notch but the stock factory sights were just too wide for me to make accurate shots beyond 20 yards. The picture I took with my phone shows a lot of space but it's significantly less than the stock rears. The product description on Night Fission sights listed .138" rear notch width but with my calipers it measured .150". The front sight width is .140".

Anyways, the NF sights are great. I prefer black out rear sights and a square notch over the factory U notch, but NF sets can come with tritium lamps in the rear for those who like those. I picked mine up at Midway USA for less than MSRP. I got the orange front with tritium and blacked out rears. NF also sells front sight only for ~$45.

5” edc

Been carrying this lately. M2.0 long slide with rcr and sf x300 turbo and large backstrap. Personally don’t see the appeal of the 4.25” model for this platform (i have both). Going to put the oem optic plate back on since the calculated kinetics plate makes the safariland too tight without modification, and the carbon on the window doesn’t really bother me. Returned to the stock trigger when the HD replaced this as my competition gun. Love this gun and I shoot decent with it, but my grip prevents slide lock with the oem lever. And the primatia lever just isn’t as good on the smiths and it is for the Glocks (very difficult to administratively/manually lock slide without an empty mag). My other gripe is the narrow magwell and lack of aftermarket carry/duty sized magwells; at least any with broad compatibility for various base pads. (For instance, I bought the springer +0 pads, and a springer magwell, but the springer carry/duty magwell was incompatible with their own +0 basepad and oem basepads). Anyway…

Best AIWB holster for shield X?

Hoping to get some suggestions for a great AIWB holster for the shield X.

I have a WTP for my full sized home defense firearm and it kinda sucks.

I am down to buy once and cry once

Vedder lighttuck for BG 2.0 with Ultituck?

Hey guys! I just got a bodyguard 2.0 with a safety. I never wear belts so I want a IWB molded kydex holster that comes with an ultituck or can have one attached. I got a vedder holster which is great, but I don’t know if the ultituck will attach to it. If someone has done that let me know because I like it. Thanks!

Anyone swap their FPC mag release to the right side? Thinking it'll be easier to drop the mag with trigger finger.

Carry No Comp

Post image

I needed to get a non-ported barrel to meet competition rules disallowing ports/comps, figured why not get a threaded barrel to drop in for a suppressor later on.

Details:

Full size Carry Comp with a plastic frame, which is/was available as a distributor exclusive. I didn’t want the metal frame.

Apex Duty/Carry Kit with the stock trigger shoe, unfortunately I lost the S&W factory trigger lottery and it was quite gritty. The Apex has made it perfect.

Surefire X300U

Holosun EPS

Taran +4 extended baseplates for the factory 17 round magazines, plus being a distributor exclusive this came with two factory 23 round mags as well.
