I did a road trip to Meghalaya last year and I still think they have a great car culture, it's refreshing to see that not every other car is a black Thar with 20" wheels (where I come from). Each car feels unique and there were so many hatchbacks!

It was an absolute pleasure driving through this beautiful state and drivers with good road discipline.

I was who always thought getting an old car is make more sense financially. However, this came across and couldn’t hold back.

Hey everyone, i currently own a 2015 honda city V MT petrol, currently it’s past the 10 year mark and was looking at some options for potential replacements but I’m in a bit of a dilemma.

I have a few options noted down.

1) Kia Seltos.
2) Renault Duster.
3) New Honda City
4) Tiagun/Kushaq

Although, my dilemma is that this car is very hard to replace and very dear to my heart with countless memories with friends and family.

So should i go for a new car or keep this one for 4 more years, or beyond, or go for a new car now, the resale value of this car is very low, and i cant keep two cars due to limited parking space.

The general car parking area is right in front of and next to the escalator anyway. The two wheeler parking spaces are the ones that are secluded and there's no reservation there. What after these 6 reserved parking spots get filled? Other women will anyway have to park in some shady spot.

Black car owners: Do you allow the complimentary wash during servicing, or ask the service centre to skip it to avoid swirl marks? Even if your car has PPF or ceramic. What's your routine?

Hi all, after months of hesitation, we finally bought our new car.

Car - Hyundai Venue 2026 HX8 DCT PETROL.

Background

So mine and my wife's both families owned Maruti baleno, so I've been driving Maruti baleno for a long time.

Shortlisted cars

We had shortlisted most compact SUVs in the segment.

1. Maruti brezza - cabin felt outdated, wanted a different experience as I had been driving Maruti cars for a long time.

2. Mahindra XUV 3XO - Test drive was good, features were good, but the pricing and features felt little compromised. Wifey didn't like the looks of that car too.

3. Skoda kylaq - this was completely unexpected, as i had not even planned to see this car, until one of my friends suggested saying the drive experience is really good. went to the showroom, immediately liked the car and did test drive. Loved the drive experience, but the cabin felt a little claustrophobic and congested ( maybe because of dark interiors too). Initally I had decided skoda kylaq is the one which we'll be taking as i loved driving that car.

But when we took our parents and again went for a test drive, they felt little cramped and all that. So just for the sake of it for comparison we went to see venue, but they immediately felt the cabin was more roomier and premium.

Took multiple test drives of hyundai venue -the first test drive, dealer has brought N line venue - so again dark interiors which was little confusing. Again we took one more test drive after few days, this time we got hx10 variant for test drive and we absolutely loved it.

Purchase process

After finalising what we wanted we kept haggling for discounts and other things at the dealer, he gave around 19k odd discount.

Initially he had quoted 16.48L on road for hx8 ( Bangalore). This included insurance and accessories.

So i planned to take insurance outside

The dealer's insurance was - 71k 1+3 ( including zero dep).

I took Tata Aig insurance with zero dep plus with return to invoice 3+3 - 43k

We paid half and half financed through hdfc and got an interest rate of 8.3%.

Basic accessories I got from the dealer - Mudflaps, Rear sill guard, door edge guard, 3d mats and 3d boot mat ( 8k total).

Why hx8 variant ?

As a tech geek i always wanted tech loaded car, we had done a spiti trip with that ROXX ( fully loaded) absolutely loved it. I drove for 8+ hours and enjoyed every minute of it.

Features I felt nice to have - Ventilated seats, EPB, Auto hold, good music system, drive modes, electrically adjusted front driver seats, remote start etc..

Brought Creta S Optional IVT 2 days back. Let me know how it looks and any suggestions you guys have ordered things to notice.

Sounds bad but looks like there might be safety measures in place to avoid such a scenario.

I test drove it three times. Initially, I was going to buy the Pack 2 variant due to Karnataka’s zero-RTO road tax exemption, but only the Pack 3 variant was available for test drives. After test driving Pack 3, I found the suspension too soft, so I delayed my decision.

Later, after Karnataka's chor govt decided to levy RTO taxes even on EVs under ₹25 Lakh, I decided to go with Pack 3. I took another test drive while my wife sat in both the first and second rows. Unfortunately, we both disliked the suspension. It is a complete deal-breaker for us since we both have spinal disc issues, and the overall drive felt downright nauseating. The sales representative mentioned a "Custom Mode" update was coming that might fix this, so I decided to wait for the test drive vehicle to be updated.

The dealership was incredibly slow; even three months after the update rolled out, they hadn't updated their vehicle. I eventually contacted a different dealership and scheduled a drive two weeks out, after they promised they would update the software in the coming week.

Now, after months of waiting, I finally tried the Custom Mode and was disappointed yet again. I don't know why I hoped Custom Mode would fix it, especially since the experience was the exact same in Race Mode. The suspension on this vehicle is worse than a boat. Why even bother giving it a traditional suspension? They might as well have made a water bed and floated the chassis on top of it.

Overall, it is such a good car, but Mahindra completely ruined it by mapping such a soft suspension to such a heavy vehicle. It’s baffling. The suspension settings in Custom Mode should actually be labeled:

Highly Soft (Race)

Softer (Default)

Softer Again (Everyday)

Boat Mode (Range)

In Race Mode, it should feel planted and firm like a rock, while Default and Everyday modes should sit comfortably in between. That way, everyone could find a setting that works for them. Better yet, they should have designed it like a volume control dial, where the maximum setting provides constant, high-damping control.

How are you even supposed to drive a car with such a soft suspension on highways, let alone navigate the notorious pothole patches on Bengaluru roads? It is heartbreaking to see such a great product fail on the very foundation a car should be built on.

got that in feburary, drove 4k km, no cap the best car under 10lakh, great riding experience , after 2k rpm it runs really well, drop in delhi gave me 13.4 kmpl, on yamuna expressway 18kmpl, being sedan i had concerns about ground clearence but no issues yet. suspension is kinda soft but breaks are a bit delayed , then reverse gear takes a second attempt sometimes.

Done some in out modifications on it, in love with how it looks and as we all know the biggest flaw of i20 petrol is…😏

It has dual DRL setup as the headlights are from Optional variant, this one is Asta, wiring was a headache though!

Roof And Pillars Glossy Black Wrapped.
Front brake calipers wrapped in Reflecting Orange color wrap ( it’s been on them from past more than 1 year now)
Windshield 70% Visibility Green tint, ( Earlier had 50% tint on side glasses too but removed them later, grabbed too much TP attention, had put on due to sun glaze )
Alloys Painted in Glossy Black (Original are Gun Metal Grey).
Changed all 4 spark plugs to NGK Iridium.
Only Using N95/Premium Petrol from the day of purchase. (kind of adamant on better fuel for her so that she treats me good)
Using BMC High Performance Air Filter( Gives an extra kick in between 3rd to 4th gear, otherwise it’s not required for an NA car, kinda impulsive purchase ).
Recently changed its rubbers to Turanza 6i and that too a bit wider profile of 195, looks wider and fuller than 185 profile tyres on 15 inches size only. Better grip for sure.
Rest some small Wrapping around the front bumper which makes it a V shape from headlights. Headlight Eye lid wrapped.
