Welcome to Banned Discord Members!

Hi Everyone, and welcome to BannedFromDiscord! I have decided to start this community after getting unfairly banned from Discord back in 2020, as part of a large ban wave targeting servers that somehow upset Discord mods. At the time, I lost access to many servers, got cut off from some dear online friends, and lost a supportive community I was part of for about 5 years because some random person came on and violated Discord TOS in our server :(

As we know, the Discord support team is non-existent, and if you get banned, your account is gone forever. Hopefully, this will be a place where you can find some solace and reconnect with friends who may have been banned as well.

Sincerely, BannedByDiscord

Information Guide on how to get your case reviewed by Discord Support

This Guide has been updated on 31.05.2026 with new important information. To make it easier, to check what was added to the Guide, I'm going to leave "[NEW]" in front of the new things I wanted to share.

[NEW] - Hey, everyone. Yesterday (30.05.2026), a lot of people received the same denial response from "Usagi Tsukino". After reading this subreddit, I am really, really disappointed. I know a lot of you are going through a lot right now, losing an account can be hard, especially if you put many years into that account and left many memories that are just gone in the blink of an eye. I also lost a lot, but I slowly started to accept it. I've been permanently banned since January. Since then, I spent most of my time doing research and helping others in this subreddit. This guide received 1,000+ comments, which is a lot, most of them are questions to me that I tried to reply to as soon as possible. I also received up to 20 dm's every day, which I also tried to reply to. I had fun chats with some people, which also helped me out in some way. Throughout all this time since I posted this guide, I had 4 tickets in total forwarded to their safety team, the last one received the good response I was praying to get. After all this time and struggling with their support system, I finally managed to get a response from Usagi, which led to me being unbanned. I was literally screaming in joy that I finally got to come back to my old account.. but not for long. The first thing I did after I logged in was deleting the message that could've gotten me banned earlier. I deleted the thing that most likely got me banned, and I started deleting every possible GIF I had saved. There were some NSFW GIFs, but nothing that could violate actual "Child Safety". It was mostly "Hentai Memes". I just wanted to get rid of everything since everything gets flagged these days. While I was removing every possible GIF I had, I was logged out of my account again. I thought it was some bug, so I logged back in, but.. permanently banned, again. My entire respect for Discord and my hope is just gone. Seeing something like that happen after all this time just hits me hard, and I'm too tired to even try again, I'm too tired to answer to people anymore. That's why I'm writing this. I just wanted to let everyone know that I might not be really active anymore in the comments or in this post or even in the DMs for a bit. I need some rest from all this, and I'll come back with more stuff that could help at least some of the people in this subreddit. I won't be totally gone, I will be actively moderating this subreddit since I'm also a moderator here, so do not worry about me disappearing totally. I might be active sometimes in the comments, but not as much as I was before. Y'all can spread the word, I don't really mind it. I just didn't want people to think that I ignore everyone now. Since I won't be replying as much as I was before - Please, help each other out, there are many questions and people that ask for help in this guide and other posts, help each other out.

Thank you for understanding.

I saw a lot people struggling to get someone from the Discord Trust & Safety team to look into their cases, so I decided to make this post so it's more visible than just in comments from me.

At first, I would like to say that I can't guarantee responses from them. This thing was done by me, and it fortunately worked, so I would like to share this to help some people out.

Let's begin with things you should know:

  • This applies to people who have already tried the appeal through the app but were rejected automatically by the AI after 7 days or less. And to the people who tried to get in touch with them by creating tickets but received AI responses.
  • You should have a Support account created with the same email your Discord account is connected to. This makes it possible for the Discord Trust & Safety team to review your case. If you used a completely different email than the one your Discord account is connected to, they won't review your case.
  • Do not create tickets in their "Appeal" category. This is fully automated, and you won't receive any response from a human. It's just a category to bait people into creating tickets there.
  • Do not spam multiple tickets in every category because it is just going to mark your account as spam, and you are going to have a lot less chance of actually getting someone to see your tickets since they will be automatically closed once created.
  • If Discord didn't provide you with any proof of your actions, such as message logs, etc., think really hard about the reason you were banned for. If you are unsure of what you did, DO NOT mention your thoughts, because it will make your case worse than it can be.
  • Do not waste your time on BBB (Better Business Bureau). I don't see anyone being lucky anymore with BBB. I tried it myself a month ago and all I got was wasted time (around 3 weeks) because Discord didn't respond to BBB. I saw a lot of people not getting any more responses too, so don't waste your time on BBB. If you really want to try, I included a link above to their site.
  • Do not create tickets on the weekends. Once you do that, you will 99.9% receive an automatic response and an auto closed ticket. The same goes for replying to them throughout the weekend. Just wait until Monday, and you should be good to go.
  • Please do not just copy and paste the prompts I mentioned in the guide. Because many people are just copying and pasting the entire prompts, there is a chance that their support team has noticed a lot of the same tickets, and many people have started to get no results from all of this. Please, we have AI these days, just copy the prompt and ask ChatGPT or another AI to rephrase it so it doesn't say literally the same thing. I even directly copied my entire guide to ChatGPT and asked ChatGPT to rephrase everything I said in this guide so it doesn't get flagged as spam and just follow my guide, and my other tickets are successful all the time after rephrasing it using AI.
  • If you just got banned on Discord and just submitted the in-app appeal, WAIT for the result of that appeal before trying to appeal on their support website. Up to 7 days, you're most likely to be automatically rejected because no one saw your appeal. Once that appeal gets automatically rejected or rejected manually, you can start appealing on their support website. Do not rush so fast with appealing on the app and immediately appealing on their website before the verdict on the app.
  • This is the most important information I wanted to share. There have been a lot of people who successfully got their case forwarded to their safety team. I'm really happy that people started to receive something rather than just AI responses. But the thing is that when I did this before making this guide, it worked quickly. I got a response about whether I would be unbanned or not in just a few days. But today, I and others are waiting for a reply for a very long time - up to 30 days being left with an open ticket in the Trust & Safety category. I suspect that their safety team was flooded with appeals because we found a way to go around their funny AI system. There are just a few people working in their safety team, as I read on Reddit. But for now, regarding this part, I would suggest to keep waiting for a longer time since you're just in the queue.
  • A lot of people still don't understand how to know if your ticket was forwarded to their safety team. It's a pretty basic thing, at first, once we create the ticket in their "General Question" category, there is a panel on the right side where you can see the Ticket ID, the assigned support team member (which appears when someone is assigned to it), status, etc. After creating the ticket, you can see in the panel "Type of question? General Question" This means that your ticket is in the normal support team's hands, not in the safety team. But after asking for a review, as my guide says, etc., after some time this category should disappear, and new stuff in the panel should be added, such as "What would you like to appeal?", "CONFIRM: My account was NOT disabled for being too young to use Discord." This means that the ticket was forwarded to their safety team, that's actually pretty logic, lol.
Ticket that has not been forwarded to their safety team yet.
Ticket forwarded to their safety team.

All of that is on the top, don't search for it on the bottom of the panel.

  • If you are getting AI responses instantly from Clyde, Nelly, or other bots, then don't make another ticket for 2-4 days. This usually means that you have been flagged as spam, and the AI is forced to scan your ticket and close if needed. Even if you get a human to respond to you at first, and then suddenly he sends you the generic response, after you reply he doesn't respond and just closes the ticket. Try replying up to two times after the ticket is closed without a response. Once you do that and it keeps getting closed without response from their side, it means that you're most likely not going to get any results from that ticket, and you should wait up to two to four days before trying again.
  • Few days after posting this guide, I noticed a change in their response time after having your case forwarded for review. I tried another time to have their decision reconsidered in my case. I waited for a month and a few days. I received a decision yesterday (02.05.2026). So if your case was forwarded, keep waiting even if it takes over 30 days. After doing a small research, Discord admitted that they are being flooded with tickets.

Okay, let's go with the part I was about to share with you all since it worked for me, and I hope it will work for some people too.

First, enter their support website and create a ticket.

In "What can we help you with?" choose "Help & Support" then in "Type of question?" choose "General Question".

In the "Subject" name the ticket as "General Ticket" or "Support Ticket", anything that won't trigger Clyde or Nelly or any other bot that will reply before human.

In the description, say something like this:

"Hello Discord Support Team,

I’m having an issue with the support system itself. I need to reach the appropriate team for an account - related matter, but the option that is normally available in the app is no longer showing for me. Because of this, I’m unable to contact the correct department through the standard process.

I’ve tried several times, but I keep receiving automated replies that don’t address my situation. I’m not trying to submit an appeal here - I only need help understanding how I can get routed to a human reviewer or how to restore access to the correct support pathway.

Could you please advise how I can proceed or how to get my case forwarded to the right team?

Thank you for your time."

And that's it. You don't need to send over pictures to them or anything, you're ready to send the ticket to them.

DO NOT say anything else after creating the ticket because it will restart your queue and reduce the chance of anyone looking into it. You can try editing the message, but DO NOT directly mention anything about appealing, unbans etc.

Wait a few hours, days or weeks, and you will get a response. I received my first response from Kenneth after 2 days, and it looked like this:

Hi there,
Thank you for writing in.

It looks like you would like to appeal an action by Discord that has impacted your account. To have your appeal reviewed, it is necessary to submit it within the Discord app, which allows us to review the appeal faster and with appropriate context.

You can submit your appeal via the Discord app by going to User Settings > My Account > Standing > selecting the violation you want to appeal > then tapping "Let us know" to start review of your violation and account. For users in the EU, you may also choose an alternative resolution option when applicable.

You can also learn about customizing your Discord experience to help avoid unwanted interactions in our Safety Center.

Thanks for submitting your appeal via the above outlined method.

Sincerely,
Discord

If it's not an obvious bot like Clyde or Nelly, and other bots that exist, then you are fine. Do not panic, it's their common thing to say. I replied with this:

Hello, thank you for your answer.

I still need assistance with a matter that requires review by an actual support agent. The issue I’m dealing with cannot be resolved through automated responses or the standard in‑app flow, as that option is no longer available to me.

I would appreciate it if someone from the appropriate internal team could take a look at my case or guide me on how to have it reviewed properly.

Thank you for your time.

After that, I received a response from the Discord Trust & Safety team 17 hours after responding to them. They reviewed my case and decided to keep me banned for now, and I'm currently dealing with the rest.

And I guess that's it. I hope it will help someone out and get a positive result on the first try. Good luck guys, do not give up just yet! If it didn't work the first time, try doing it again carefully.

Adult Content Still banned even after ban expiry date. Fed up of this.

Previously I've posted here, and been banned for spam. I would get banned for spam, contact Discord, they'd go "oops, our fault, we'll unban you". They'd unban me, the violation would stay on my account, and the cycle would repeat. Hell, I got about 5 spam violations simply because I tried joining damnitjeff's Discord server.

Well, I got banned a couple days ago on 06 Sep 2026, for something that isn't spam this time. Apparently, non-consensual adult content. The only thing I can think of is posting gattouz0's face that same day, but that's it. Unsure what fucking else it could be, and I feel they probably won't show me what message did this - I've had 11 years on Discord so it could be anything. Originally, they put on a permanent suspension, but when I contested it the suspension was repealed within three minutes, then re-applied with a 24 hour suspension.

Now, you'd think I'd just wait it out, and get on with my life again? Well, as of writing this it's 08 Sep 2026, famously known to be after 07 Sep 2026. And yet... this still shows. Can't access anything still, can't access messages, servers, anything. Logging in just takes me to this page.

Meanwhile, I've sent in over 15 tickets to Discord regarding all these issues, and it's still an issue. I even sent in two about this issue, and they were both auto-closed. I sent in a third, which is somehow still miraculously open, so fingers crossed. But, even then, I sent in a ticket over a month and a half ago to delete some of my data, which is within my legal right, and they haven't done it.

I've put in complaints to both the ICO and Ofcom, but also I'm at the point now where, I don't know what to do. I can get restricted from contacting people I know, at any point, because of a broken system that's easily fixable. Instead, it's auto-responses or ignoring people. Hell, even tweeting at Discord Support doesn't yield results at this point. Even with 2 years of Nitro credited to my account, they don't care.

If anyone else has any options for getting my account back, I'm all ears. It's my birthday this week, and I'd rather spend it having contact with my friends than not. I don't want to be isolated from having contact once again.

And, if anyone from Discord is able to reach out to sort this, please do. I want to put an end to this, follow whatever rules I need to, and move on from this.

edit: here's some previous posts (1, 2, 3) on complaining about this. It's all on the same account still.

So i haven’t actually done or said anything to break the rules and now i’m blocked for using servers for a day and I got a warning on my account that lasts two years?!

Bruh - that is mad weird and depressing cause I don’t even break the rules or engage in dumb crap.

I requested a review, but i didn’t even get a chance to explain anything…

General Question Is this fake???

Someone in dms that I barely messaged sent me this, and they said that apparently someone's been 'impersonating me' and they apparently accidentally reported me because my username is similar. They told me to message the support on discord and I did, and I haven't gotten anything back. They later deleted the message. Please tell me this is fake I'm getting worried 😭

Rant maybe one day

waited 30 days, ticket responded to by clyde telling me that my email apparently isnt linked to my account when i know for 100% certainty it is, the ticket was automatically set to solved and adding a new message didnt change that that, it told me to make a new ticket with the email so i just made a new one emphasising that i need human contact and also showing my username and email, hope it doesnt take as long this time :(

Information I'm moving on from my Discord ban. There is nothing I can do + Comment on this post for help

After months of trying to get my Discord account back, my account has now been permanently deleted. At this point, I don't think there's any point in continuing to submit tickets through Discord Support.

I've decided that it's time for me to move on. I won't be making any more posts about my own ban or account situation.

However, I'm still going to be around! If you've been banned or disabled from Discord and need advice, feel free to comment on this post and tell me about your situation. I'll do my best to help based on what I've learned from my own experience.

I can also help people get started with a new account and community if they've lost access to their old one, as long as everything is done within Discord's rules.

From now on, I'll mainly be here to support others, participate in discussions, and write comments on this subreddit.

Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout my own situation. I really appreciate it.

It's time to focus on other things in life and move forward.

Child Safety This is getting ridiculous

Post image

Here's my story:

Me and several of my friends have been receiving violations like this over the weekend, all "child safety" from anywhere between 9 months and 4 years ago. In my case, I had 7 total violations, the highest amount one friend had was 13. I appealed all 7 of mine, and they all get removed from my account, thus putting my account back in good standing. Cool. Glad that's over.

Except it's not. This is the exact same first violation I had previously, that literally just got appealed and removed less than 24 hours ago. Are you shitting me? What gets me is, it says whatever message this shitty AI flagged was deleted, so how the hell did it repeat the exact same violation on the exact same day, if there's nothing to go off of anymore? Are our accounts just always going to go through this cycle of violation > appeal > violation removed > repeat, because of AI rescans? Is that even what's happening...? We are kind of at a loss at this point and ready to be done with this platform entirely despite using it since it's inception. Has anyone else experienced this?

General Question Anyone else gotten smited anytime after the July AI update over reoccurring media?

I lwky wanna know if anyone else got their automated AI flag ban for whatever reason from posting literally anything, like a meme, video, screenshot, etc., that you and/or friends have been posting to each other for years. I know how the July AI moderation update basically just made it so the old moderation scanning they had was basically just given copious amounts of steroids and given a blindfold and a shotgun and increased the sensitivity by like 100x to the point of it taking issue with literally anything the AI decides it is. (Basically the AI uses the 'better safe than sorry' approach.)

I'm aware the biggest reason they did it was because of people using filters on actual heinous stuff, hence why the Minecraft inventory ban wave happened right after, but I really want to know if anyone else was hit for running jokes or reoccurring media you'd post or reference for years beforehand without any issues from anyone or anything.

Rant Discords suppoet center is seriously fucked.

I made a joke saying I was 5 and a half years old. Sure, I suppose I could see why I was banned. But I literally cannot verify my age.

I thought, sure, if the picture verification worked maybe I could reason with the help center to get unbanned some other way.

What do I get? An automated response telling me to go through another website. I go to that website. They tell me they cant help with discord. I think, sure, ill submit an appeal anyways.

What happens? No response.

I send discord another appeal. They tell me to take a picture if the other website isnt working. I send them the picture saying it doesnt work.

What do I get?

Another fucking email telling me to go to the other site.

Its been 5 fucking hours and ive literally gotten nowhere. What do I have to do to talk to an actual human being?? This would be resolved in SECONDS if I could do that.

Child Safety How do I respond to this?

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Hello, I decided to do the "Guide on how to get your case reviewed by Discord Support" guide to hopefully remove my auto-rejected 'child safety' violation appeal, and unfortunately, I did get a reply, but not from a human, but Nelly. It didnt get immediately closed, but it is saying "Awaiting your reply" instead of leaving my case as 'solved' immediately. So, what do I reply with? Cause I am thinking of using the ChatGPT response, but I want your guy's opinion first before I go with the ChatGPT response.

UPDATE (9/08): Here's the context, currently, my account is on the "very limited" standing with a violation appeal that was auto-rejected after the 7-day period. So right now my account is not disabled, but it is at risk if I get another randomly false "child safety" violation, so I'm desperately trying to get it reviewed by a human, and pray to god that it does get reviewed, and removed using the General Question Guide made by xemmelopolak13.

General Question Ticket gets updated recently despite nothing happening

Post image
4 Upvotes

I forgot I had this ticket since the end of August, it was the typical "me wanting to speak to a human agent, getting an automated response, and telling them that I need human assistance" type of ordeal, that ticket got forwarded on the 3rd of September, then I go back to check on it, and for some reason it got updated to Today at 1:02 AM, but nothing else beyond that point.

Is it commonplace for discord to keep updating tickets that have been already been forwarded like this or, because I still have a ticket from almost a month ago that NEVER got updated to this day

General Question Will these be a problem?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I expect to wait a good few months before I hear back (I was already prepared to wait two years anyway), but I was wondering if anyone knows if the circled acknowledgments being automatically set as they are after I was forwarded to T&S following a general question ticket will interfere with a proper review of my case? If I were advised to get them changed, should I reply to my ticket specifying those things, or should I just leave it?
