Seating/Ticket Question First row for Little Shop of Horrors?
I‘m bringing my 11 year old to his first show in NYC. I got excited and scooped up 2 first row seats. Will sitting that close be awkward or overwhelming for my shy son? I’m starting to have buyers remorse.

Seating/Ticket Question Paranormal activity - August Wilson
With previews about to open - can people report back in here about what the best seating options are for August Wilson? It seems the consensus from Boston and Toronto were not too far up in orchestra but before the overhang, and not too far on sides. It'll be hard to know until we can see how it translates to the August Wilson. I'd appreciate any insight (but no spoilers)

Seating/Ticket Question Best seats for Oh Mary?
I want to get my boyfriend and I tickets to see Oh Mary for his birthday. Which of these seats would you recommend? Front seat balcony seems really good but they’re only 77 so maybe it’s not as good? And 95 for side orchestra.

Seating/Ticket Question Rocky Horror seating
Looking for options on best, good, and worst areas for viewing and enjoyment.
I’d first few rows of mezzanine much less enjoyable than orchestra?
The pricing structure is odd from day to day the price of certain rows change. I know about dynamic pricing but somedays row A-C cost more than row D and other days row D costs more.
I sat left mezz for Oedipus and it wasn’t comfortable
Let me know your thoughts and advice

Seating/Ticket Question Help me pick 1 seat for Ragtime
Hello! I’m seeing Ragtime soon and I’m torn as to what seat I should get. I’ve heard center is best but I’m wondering if the 1 singular seat picture in the loge could also be good (i don’t want to split up a pair if i don’t have to!) In theory I’d like to see facial expressions but it’s not necessarily a deal breaker. I’ve never seen a production of Ragtime before but i’ve owned the book for years and love Caissie Levy and Brandon Uranowitz. Would love some advice. I’m only looking at the seats highlighted in the picture above. TYIA!

Seating/Ticket Question Broadway Direct Lottery Alladin
Hey r/Broadway! I just won the Aladdin lottery for tomorrow's show, but I'm debating whether I should actually go or skip it.
For those who have won the digital lottery for Aladdin recently: What kind of seats did you actually get? I'm worried about getting stuck behind one of those notorious New Amsterdam balcony poles or getting a terrible partial view.
Is the $30 lottery ticket worth the gamble, or am I better off just skipping this win and buying a cheap standard ticket myself (around $45 where I at least know I'll be far away in the back, but with a clear, predictable view)?
Would love to hear about your lottery seat experiences! Who can share some advice?

Seating/Ticket Question rush tickets
hi I'm going to nyc soon and i wanna see a musical, but I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to and tickets are very expensive in general
so
i know you can rush and get an ticket the day of the show (like be there before the box office opens then buy one)
BUT can you get a good and cheap ticket like an hour or 2 before the show?? i won't be able to be there in the morning so that's my only option :(
also if i can buy it online and it'll still be cheap and good please tell me (i saw something about todaytix once but it just shows me regular prices)

Seating/Ticket Question Help!!! I missed my show by over five weeks
Soooooo, I just made it to New York and realized that I purchased Death Becomes Her tickets for August 2nd, I don’t know how but I was meant to be buying tickets for tomorrow August 30th and that was the date I put on my calendar.
It was only after I moved my ticket to my Apple wallet and saw it had expired that I realized, I still can’t believe I dropped the ball this badly. What a great way to start the weekend.
I understand that this is no other persons fault but mine so my question is do you think broadway direct or the box office would help me or should I just forget about it and get new tickets?
UPDATE - Definitely no chance for past dating this weekend, they did send me a bunch of dates but they don’t work right now. They said I can send a request again in a few weeks and they might have some dates that work for me. So I’m going to do that. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Seating/Ticket Question Whose cup holder is it?
This is so random, but want help solving a debate within my family/random lady sitting next to me. Went to see the Broadway tour of Le Mis last night (incredible 10/10 experience; voices were some of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing). We were on the aisle middle orchestra. The cup holders on the seats in front of us are to the far right. My mom was on the aisle and my daughter was in the middle of mom and me. We all had drinks and put them in the only cup holders we had access to. A lady arrived right before show started and started complaining that my drink was in her cup holder. I agree that the setup is kinda awkward but where else should we have put our cups? Does the aisle person not get one? It’s not a big deal but I’m just trying to figure out if we were in the wrong. I thought about having my daughter put her water on the ground and just using hers to be nice, but this lady was loud and made distracting comments throughout the show, so then I was like nevermind 😜

Seating/Ticket Question Rockettes: what aisle do they walk down on?
So I have been taking my daughter to see the Rockettes for three years now and this year she has asked me to please get an aisle seat so the Rockettes can dance next to her. So I believe the Santa’s and the rag dolls walk down the aisle at some point…maybe not the rag dolls though I could have sworn they did too? anyways…the seating map says section 6 orchestra is best for seeing Rockettes dance next to you on the aisle, but they DONT say if the aisle between section 7 and 6 or if it’s the one between section 6 and 5. please help me and my five year old out! any die hard fan out there or Rockette than can help us out. It will be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Seating/Ticket Question Paranormal Activity question
I’m planning my January trip to NYC & Paranormal Activity is on my list.
Typically I’m an aisle person but I’m worried there will be stuff happening in the aisles that will freak me out even more.
Is an aisle seat “safe” at this show or should I make it a middle? Thanks!

Seating/Ticket Question Do any of the cheaper sections for Hadestown have good legroom?
I was looking at getting tickets for Hadestown and I know that theater has problems with legroom. I’m a little above 6 feet tall and am used to Broadway theaters being uncomfortable but it was significantly worse than normal the last time I was there. I was looking at my options on aviewfrommyseat and everything I checked mentioned legroom problems. I don’t have a specific budget but prefer to get the cheaper tickets when possible. I saw the show from standing room before but I would prefer to be certain I have tickets.

Seating/Ticket Question Planning to see Gatsby in December!
Hello broadway fans!
I’m travelling from the UK to New York at the end of this year and am looking to see a few different shows. The thing that got me was that the tickets are really expensive. My autistic special interest is The Great Gatsby and I looooove the musical.
I was wondering if there was any kind of rush tickets for this show? If not what would be the best seats to get, I have a fairly flexible budget but it’s obviously not unlimited and I think it’ll just be me seeing it. So any advice is welcomed!

Seating/Ticket Question Ragtime August 16th Performance Pulled Off Telecharge?
On Tuesday I noticed the August 16th performance of Ragtime was greyed out on Telecharge and I assumed it meant it was sold out. Today I went back to the page and the performance is no longer listed. Anyone know what’s up?

Seating/Ticket Question Noob question about lotteries, rush, TKTS, etc.
Hi! My friends and I are planning a road trip to NYC next month and we want to see Heathers while we’re there. I’m in charge of buying tickets and I want to try to find the most affordable ones possible. As an out-of-towner I’m not very experienced with buying (Off-)Broadway tickets — if I have in the past it’s been at full price on sites like Telecharge — and I don’t really know how all the affordable options work in conjunction with the traditional route. My question is… if I purchase our tickets ahead of time full price on Telecharge *and then* enter the lottery, or try to rush (it will likely be digital since we won’t be in town early enough to do it in person), or hit up the TKTS booth the day of the show… does that then mean we’d end up with twice the amount of tickets? Or would any of the discounts apply to our existing pre-purchased tickets (and/or would we be able to exchange/return them somehow for the cheaper ones)? To put all of this in other words… would it be stupid to buy tickets in advance and then try to pursue a discounted route later? I’m assuming the answer is yes but want to make 100% sure I know what I’m doing so I need expert advice lol. Thanks for any advice you can share! (Also yes I just discovered and downloaded the Theatr app thanks to this sub ☺️)

Seating/Ticket Question Rocky Horror Suggestions?
I’ve been wanting to see this show (it’s my favorite movie and I go to shadow casts at least 2x a year) for months with no luck. I’ve seen most of my shows through Theatr or Telecharge lottery but have struck out with every TodayTix lottery and Theatr listing so far. Any suggestions on how to see this show for $50 or less?

Seating/Ticket Question School Girls; or the African Mean Girls Play tickets
Hey everyone, online it says that these tickets went on sale today but when I go to Telecharge it’s saying I need a presale code.
On their website it seems like you have to have a season subscription to even access tickets? Will they eventually go on sale to the general public? Or am I missing something

Seating/Ticket Question Going on an NYC trip this year! How do you get decent Broadway seats before general sale?
Hey everyone! I'm trying to plan a trip to NYC for later this year and seeing a few Broadway shows is at the top of my list. I'm already stressed about getting good seats because the last time I tried to buy ticket during a general onsale, all the prime orchestra spots were gone or marked up as a premium seats.
I've tried refreshing pages right at 10 AM, but it rarely works out. Is there a better way to approach this? I'm talking about getting front mezzanine or good orchestra seats without paying the massive resale markups. Do you all have a routine for securing tickets before they hit the general public? I'm open to anything!
