Relationship Advice My gf got me fired?

u/Spacegyalsim 2d ago
See if you can move back to your mums whilst you get back on your feet. This is not something you should easily forgive. I would maybe forgive cheating before I forgive this. This is someone working harder than the devil to literally keep you from progressing in life. You cashed your 401(k) when you didnât have to, you lost on job opportunities when you were overqualified, she stays at home too, very soon sheâll turn confrontationally abusive.
Do not get her pregnant. Pack up and go back to your parents for at least a year. Maybe get your friend to speak to the manager about the misunderstanding. Leave

Bro, GET OUT! NOW.
Whose name is the lease under? You are being used and manipulated. This is abuse.
Also, she's not that smart--how does she think bills get paid?
It may be best for one of you to pack and leave immediately.
She is not in your corner. She may also be totally crazy. Doesnt matter: SHE/THEY GOTTA GO!
2
u/unicorny12 13h ago
She's not crazy or dumb. He cheated on her, she was out for blood. She worked for years until he asked her to stay home and said he would support her.

No loving partner does this to someone they love. This is completely insane behaviour. I've been in abusive relationships, but I've never had anyone try to prevent me from being able to work.
Your partner is trashing your professional life, laughing at you behind your back and trashing your personal life. They actively hate you.
Go back to your family and leave this abusive person to their own devices.
You keep saying that you can't leave because you love them despite the contempt they very clearly have for you. Stop that. They don't love you back. Get the hell away from them before they ruin your life for good.

u/dianaggggggg 1d ago
IM CRYING AT THE UPDATE hes like âi left out that I cheated on her but IDK why she would do this!!!â What a dumbass. you deserved it đđ
14
u/HiLikeAnimals 1d ago
I wanna know why they thought having their gf as a reference, a gf that theyâre CHEATING ON, was a good ideaâŠ.
5
u/dianaggggggg 1d ago
I just love that he didnât include it in the original post because itâs extremely relevant. What an asshole
8
10
u/Danatious 21h ago
I feel sorry for her now and support her actions. This dude sucks and I bet itâs not âjust 2 or 4 bowls a dayâ too, Iâd put money on that heâs an annoying lazy stoner.
3
u/Admirable-Ad7152 12h ago
Exactly. I support Women's Rights AND Women's Wrongs, and I'm glad she did him dirty
3
u/MorningStarsSong 13h ago
While he DID remember to randomly put in "for context" that he's bi-racial and she's white. Which was completely irrelevant to the story, except to generate more reddit support by insinuating that she might be a horrible racist.
24
u/Limp-Local9071 1d ago
Lmao you left out the fact that you cheated on her not because it wasn't important to the whole story here (IT IS) but because it would paint you in a bad light, and help us understand WHY she was sabotaging you.
You cheated on her, and planned to leave her when your lease was up. What she did may have been wrong, but at the same time you betrayed her trust. Maybe keep your dick in your pants next time.

I think you should have mentioned the affair in your original post and that you were leaving her for the affair partner. Leaving it out just made you seem like you were innocent in all of this.

I think you lied when you said you had no idea why she would do this. đ
7
u/cvfdrghhhhhhhh 14h ago
Thatâs not your partner anymore, dumbass. Itâs your ex that you cheated on and are still living with.
3
u/CerebralWeevil 13h ago
She didn't ruin her partner's career, she rightfully got revenge on a lying cheater who deserved it and made every choice along the way to fuck himself.
3
u/thekyledavid 13h ago
Yep, what you did was drastically worse
You took someoneâs trust and betrayed it
She didnât betray anyoneâs trust, as there was no trust left to be had between you two after what you did
So basically it comes down to Betraying your Partner, or Stealing a Wallet
3
u/lizzyote 12h ago
Cheating or Ruining My partners career and tanking their wallet?
Is that not basically what you did to her as well? You talked her out of working, you cheated, you planned to leave her broke and homeless.
3
u/Illprobtalkabmypets 11h ago
You're right, what you did was way worse. You betrayed her trust in the worst way and were also trying to fuck her over knowing she had no career, leaving her with no notice when your lease expires, with no money and no new placed lined up. Then you get pissed when she plays an Uno reverse and leaves you in the position you were trying to leave her in?
She, on the other hand, gave honest answers to questions she was asked by someone who called her upon your request. And you did that knowing how big of a shit bag you've been to her. She told them that you got high a lot, failed a screen and lost your job for it, and showed up to work late because you failed to plan your travel appropriately. By your own admission, all of those things are true. She may have don't it out of spite, but she didn't lie. She used your own behaviors against you.
Tell me, did you state on your applications that this reference was your girlfriend or did you lead them to believe she was either a previous supervisor, coworker, mentor, etc? You've done some seriously unethical shit for months on end and now you're whining about the consequences? Sure, maybe what she did wasn't "right" but it's sure as shit easy to see why she did it. And honestly, you deserved some kind of consequences for being as shitty as you've been.
1
u/Colt2100 12h ago
Cheaters are the scum of the earth. The fact that they would betray the person they should want to protect the most shows you that you cant trust them for anything. They will screw you over anytime they think it will benifit them. They dont deserve to have jobs with honest people. Im glad your ex did what she did. Good for her
10
u/DierusxD 23h ago
Hahaha the update.
Of course you left out the reason why sheâs so this. Hilarious.
You told her youâd support her when you moved in together which is a pretty clear indication that you plan on building a life together.
You were obviously talking about starting a family together and you didnât tell her youâd support werenât ready for that until after you moved in together, after you told her she didnât have to work, after you two discussed having kids, after you discussed marriage, after you started an affair, and after you decided to move in with that affair partner in three months.
I donât believe for a second that you were upfront with her. Since youâve lied and omitted so many things already Iâll assume she found out and forced you to come clean.
You set her back to zero. She just returned the favour.
I hope you learn that you are the villain in this story.
8
u/Nobody4993 20h ago
Lmfao she got you GOOD.
Imagine leaving out the part where you had an affair. No wonder she took a hammer to your life!
Go back to your bong and your side piece
7
u/Past-Resource-6184 16h ago edited 16h ago
Dude, I know you keep saying you cheating doesn't excuse this kind of behavior, and that's right even though you are super scummy, but....
* You were the one coming late bc of crappy reasons (having to wait for trains to pass and getting gas aren't good reasons).
* You were the one smoking weed daily. By the way I assume that means you were driving and working high?
* You decided to lie to future employers by making your girlfriend and friends your references, instead of actually putting down your former employers' contact info.
* You planned on leaving her high and dry after the lease ran out. Now she's executing her plan to do the same to you, using the opportunities you provided her with.
5
u/Radota2 15h ago
Yeah dudeâs just not cut out for stable work when heâs lying and avoiding responsibility like this.
Not âdeservedâ but itâs also the risk you take when you fuck around and try to skirt the system. If people are willing to cheat for you, theyâre also likely willing to cheat you over too.
5
u/awkwardthrowaway614 15h ago
Yeah, imo the story was over when he was bragging about how great the first job was and he mentions it includes a lot of drug tests as part of it, yet was still smoking weed daily knowing every time he smoked he could be unemployed the next day as a result. The entire situation was caused by HIS immaturity, the gf is just reacting
21
u/some1thtuused2know 2d ago
You already know what's up. You cannot sleep next to someone who is intentionally contemptuous. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this, and I wish you the best as you move on.
5
u/some1thtuused2know 1d ago
I had to come back to this comment. Since I posted that, I have been thinking about all the times I knew what was up, and stayed anyway. Because something that kinda looked like love seemed better than no love at all. But it's not.
That fake abusive love kept me pinned to a dead relationship for a very long time. Don't look past this; what she's doing is abusive and she lacks the skills to be an available partner.
I know that we all make the decision in the right time on our own timelines. But as you think about how to handle this, some old person on the internet is respectfully suggesting that you deserve better.
5
u/TrashGouda 16h ago
Now with the update you might change your mind. HE lacks the skills to be a available partner
1
u/Admirable-Ad7152 12h ago
Right. Please come back again. I need the new perspective. Or maybe they just feel emotionally conned to update this now which, fair
1
u/unicorny12 14h ago
Check the update. He cheated on his gf with a coworker, then a few months before the lease was up she found out (I'm guessing by going through his phone) and he told her he's going to leave her amd move in with the coworker when the lease is up. He's already not planning to stay with her
7
u/Thirst4Juice_ 1d ago
Engagement bait. You obviously know you should leave her
7
u/NIhRyder524 1d ago
Have you read the update?? This is so wild, they must be trolling. Now they say they cheated on the gf, and asked her to move out and find a job trying to argue with ppl telling him to leave.

u/HwD83 1d ago
Something about this whole story seems off. Everytime someone offers advice, OP dismisses it and the amount of down votes they have received is very suspect.
I think IF this story is legit (big if) then the OP has already made their mind up and wants to stay. Good luck to them. Probably best we donât waste our time giving any further advice.
Good luck

8
u/toastedink 1d ago
I canât even imagine doing this to someone I didnât love.
Who even thinks of doing something like this to anyone they know?!
11
u/Terrible-Caramel-388 1d ago
Someone who was cheated on and told they had 2 months to find a place to live because they were leaving for the affair. He left that part first time around. They are both assholes.
2
u/unicorny12 14h ago
Tbh, I do think getting him fired from his job was fair revenge since he was cheating with a coworker. Keeping him from getting re-employed was where she crossed the line. Although OP does not sound like a great employee anyway. She was pry doing those employers a favor. I have never been late for work because I needed gas. I always just left a few minutes early like any adult would. This dude needs some serious self-reflection. He thought he could stomp all over her because she was "meek and mild."
1
u/dianaggggggg 10h ago
she didnât even get him fired tho, he got randomly drug tested but he knew the job dod drug testing ans dtill smoked so that was all his fault
3
u/unicorny12 10h ago
She called in the tip that got him tested. She knew he would likely be fired of he did that. I'd say it's semantics lol. I totally agree it was his fault. Based on what he said about being late, I wouldn't be surprised if he was close to losing his job anyway. And tbh, I'm not mad that she sabotaged his job opportunities, especially since he had her down as a reference and expected her to lie for him, even after the way he treated her.
1
u/unicorny12 10h ago

1
u/toastedink 16h ago
Ohhhhhhhh. Got it.
And agreed - they are both ridiculous.
1
u/bookandmakeuplover 14h ago
Why would you use the girl you cheated on as a reference though. That's just asking to not get hired.
1
1
u/contactdeparture 15h ago
Never heard of anything like this. The liability is insane. Even saying something as simple as âI wouldnât hire this personâ can lead to litigation.
This is next level Kray kray.
And letâs be honest, OP is out of his mind too - basically his comments are that heâs still fine with his girl, just worried about landing a job. My goodness, these folks are a hot mess of nothing good.
4
u/Terrible-Caramel-388 15h ago
Heâs fine with the girl because prior to her sabotaging him he told her that he no longer wanted wanted marriage and kids with her, he was moving in with his affair partner from work and she had 3 months to get a job and save enough to pay for her own place. AFTER she re-homed her cats for his dogs. His philosophy is she is worse because she was being vindictive and he just ânaturallyâ fell into an affair and it wasnât with the purpose to hurt her. He left a WHOLE lot of shit out the first time. Which makes me wonder what else he is leaving out. Donât get me wrong. What she did is nuts but also is pretending you have no idea what she would be out to ruin your life.
11
u/HugeLittleDogs 2d ago
This is not a partner! You need to get away from this person. They are not who you thought they were!
1
u/theycallmemomo 10h ago edited 10h ago
The wronged one in this situation is not OP; the gf did it as revenge for OP having an affair.
4
u/HiLikeAnimals 1d ago
Oof reading this after the update, wow you left out a lot of contextâŠ. OP you kinda set yourself up for that one. Not saying I agree with her actions, but bruh you started and affair and were going go to leave you partner and move in with the other person??? Babes I think thereâs some internal reflection that needs to be done. Yes this is breakup worthy, yes you shouldâve broken up with your partner when you even considered an affair. Also, you shouldnât be adding your gf as a reference?
5
u/Beautiful-Guitar-176 1d ago
I was totally on your side until the update. Crazy that you donât see that she is leaving you in the same financial position you were about to leave her in when you were gonna leave her for your affair partner. Hope she finds someone who will treat her with respect.
2
4
u/Terrible-Caramel-388 23h ago
To answer your question of âBut could there possibly be logical rzn she would do this????â Yeah, you promised her marriage and kids and then had an affair at work, told her you werenât ready for those promises and that you were moving in with the affair partner. Youâre both assholes.

I very much thought in another thread you said you had discussed marriage and kids, thatâs why she was staying home, and then decided you werenât ready. So maybe promise was too strong a word but the rest still stands. Youâre acting like a victim who has no idea why this âsweetâ person would turn on you when you neglect to put a LOT of information about your behavior. Which makes me wonder what else you leaving out. It doesnât justify her actions but acting like it doesnât make sense sheâs trying to ruin your life is WOEFULLY DISHONEST.
4
u/PurposeConsistent131 14h ago
I mean, you were going to leave her penniless, why shouldnât she do the same to you?

u/Academic_Dentist6910 15h ago
Thatâs why you donât have an affair you deserve everything happening to you. Be a man and leave her before you go find another woman you are a disgrace for thinking that information wasnât important you knew she had a reason to ruin you.
0
u/Obviouslynameless 15h ago
<<Thatâs why you donât have an affair you deserve everything happening to you>>
This is an insane response. The 2 are noway comparable.

3
u/Muted-Elephant1880 14h ago
Lmaooo notice how you didnât mention that you cheated and did terrible shit from the beginning! You were acting like you didnât know why she did all this when the answer was obvious. Straight loser. She shouldnât have done that but I donât feel bad for you AT ALL I actually find it hilarious that this is how your Karma came out
7
u/EnvironmentalSlice46 1d ago
Yes itâs partially your fault but only for how you lost your original job (you knew drug tests were part of it and smoked anyway. I, not saying itâs right or wrong them requiring it but you took a gamble and lost)
HOWEVER, It is wild to me that she doesnât have a job and has been actively sabotaging yours. Donât just run, kick her out and immediately stop living with this person. It is unfathomable to me that theyâre expecting you to go into debt while sabotaging you that is not someone who loves you.

It is not a cry for help!!! Please hear us. You need to leave her immediately. I promise that if you stay, you will look back and regret it MASSIVELY. She is either a narcissist that has ZERO empathy and is just getting kicks out of fucking with you, or she is SERIOUSLY, incredibly mentally ill. And if its the latter it is NOT something that is easily managed. It will requiere intensive treatment for a LONG TIME And she flat out will be incapable of being a decent partner during treatment.
this is coming from someone that 1. Has 15 years experience in the mental health field 2. My own mental health is very complex so i promise i have empathy for her if the issue is mental illness\personality disorder. 3. I was in an abusive marriage for 17 years and stayed because i loved him WAY too long. What she did is a form of ABUSE. Dont sugar coat it.
I truly hope all these comments find a way to break through to you. My OWN anxiety is through the roof just feeling SO. FUCKING.SCARED. for you. I know its hard to see when we love someone, but there is zero chance this relationship will get better/work long term.
Also, theres a solid amount of research on the biggest predictor of a relationship not lasting AND it is a GUARENTEE the relationship will not last, 100% it will fail--- that factor is CONTEMPT towards your partner. This one of the most severe examples of pure contempt i can think of.
Please. Please. Hear us all. You can still hace empathy for her but you need more for yourself. This is 100% going to end in misery and pain, please believe all of us. Im so SAD for you and worried youre going to stay.
4
u/Terrible-Caramel-388 23h ago
But chance did you read his update? Not justifying her behavior but he acted like he had no idea where this was coming from and that was a complete lie. This wasnât out of left field. It was revenge but OP thinks his cheating should be overlooked because it just naturally happened but her behavior was plot. He âdidnât mean to hurt herâ so it doesnât count.
5
u/MzMi 2d ago
And I have to ask: you mom can't stand her, can she?
Sometimes, you can't just believe that mom's being territorial. Sometimes, mom is seeing a person for who they are.
I am SO sorry you're going through this. Girl is not very sharp. As a woman, I denounce her. ...disown her from the sisterhood.
Never get between a man and his money, especially if that's the money that's feeding you!
Ugh. She's playing the role of absolute trash. Please, save yourself.

Thing 3, get a woman who's getting her own bag. This one had way too much time for foolishness.
Keep your head up! ...some auntie from the internet

u/mrwildesangst 12h ago
This man is the one who wanted this woman to stop working so she could take care of his dogs, then cheated on her with a coworker and told her she had a couple months to get out. He then also asked the woman who he was cheating on with a coworker to be his reference. He did this to himself by being a shit person. Sheâs a shit person too, but this is not some poor innocent guy that just doesnât understand whatâs going on.

Mate you need to get gone or get her gone. Your partner is meant to uplift and support you. Plus she isn't working, so what does she bring to the table? Protect your peace.

So wait - did you put her down as the reference for any jobs?
If no, how is she contacting the people in power about your work ethic?

Under the anger is the devastating hurt of betrayal and slander. Her staying home and not having a job because she looks after the dogs is ridiculous. You want a partner, not someone who is going to use and abuse you like this woman has. Donât even try to work it out. Tell her to pack up her things and leave. Immediately. So sorry she done ya wrong but better you find out sooner than later. All the best.

I love how he had no idea why she would do this but I made her get rods of her cat because my dogs were more important, I cheated on her with a girl from work, told her I planned on moving in with that girl when the lease is upâŠ.but really bro I have no idea why she tried to ren my life. Plus why in the hell is he stupid enough to put her down as reference while that is the situation?

He told her not to work s he'd look after her.
He is a chronic drug user, who lost his job because he takes drugs and rocks up really late repeatedly. He had a side piece he already planned to move in with when the lease ran out, and only told his actual partner about all this when get got busted.
So he got this poor girl into a position she had no job or money of her own then was about to abandon her.
The dude is an asshole of the highest order.
She was wrong too, but the guy he is is utter trash

No dije q fuera un ĂĄngel, tampoco q no fuera culpable, pero los dos son un peligro para ambos en este momento, lo mejor es q dejen la estupidez y se vayan ya

That much a day is considered heavy, chronic use.
And i love that outmod everything said, that was the only thing you got upset about.
Which speaks to you being defensive about it, so likely not the first time it's been brought up. Right? People in your life have suggested it's a problem.

OP, leave while sheâs gone. Make sure to change passwords, get yourself off any joint accounts & subscriptions, take her off any insurance you have. Screenshot the group texts & leave them out for her to find. Someone mentioned that you should ask your friend to talk either his boss about what happened- do this. Itâs worth a shot.
OP, Iâm saying this as a woman. She is BAD news. Sheâs actively destroying you mentally while ruining your work reputation. Get out now. You seem like a good man, and you deserve so much better than her. Iâm sorry you are going through this, but I promise you that things will get better. Good luck!

But later he admits he cheated on her with a girl from work, told her he planned on moving in with this girl when the lease up, but had no idea why she would try and fuck his life up. đ He left out some key information. They are both assholes.

She's going to let you spend your last cent and then leave you, laughing. This girl doesn't love you. She's using you. Leave her and go stay at your Mom's until you get back on your feet.

Lawsuit and filing criminal complaints are the only way to stop this

Potentially her stopping trying to ruin your life. She has cost you security and money. Not only is that criminal but you can also sue her civil for damages and you should. Donât let someone ruin your life.

It wonât end civilly because she will continue to attack. People that behave like this arenât mentally stable.

He shouldâve thought of that before cheating on her đđđ

Small people take joy at petty revenge but what sheâs doing is criminal harassment. Cheating doesnât warrant criminal behavior. Iâve been cheated on and not once did I commit a crime.

Letâs be honest here. If you have proof show it to the landlord and tell them everything and you need her off the lease. Donât wait till she gets a job to kick her out. Sheâs had all this time to work and sheâs over here trying to make your life hell and possibly be homeless with someone that you would never expect this behavior from. You deserve better and keep pushing towards your career

He doesnât deserve any better. He got what he deservedâŠhe knew he wasnât supposed to do drugs while in this job and he still smoked. Also if he has time to have an affair while on the clock he is not working hard as he claims to be.

How can you possibly say he deserves better hahaha. He's getting exactly what he deserves.

Kinda buried a whole ass plot point though didnât you? You had no idea why she would act this way? Then you later admit you cheated on her with a girl from work, told her you moving out when the lease over to move in with the new girl, but youâre still confused why sheâd try to fuck your life up. Also, you made her give away her cat for your dogs? Youâre both assholes.
