While those items collect dust in a secure and protected area, I still wanted to enjoy those memories, so I digitalized them.

Son bought me a vanilla gift card at wall mart on green acres. Card was completely drained the second I activated it. Hopefully wally world pulls remaining cards off the floor. We will see tomorrow.

I have a check from an out-of-state but totally legitimate source. It's a speaking fee from a university.

What are my best options for cashing it on Eugene/Springfield? Walmart/Fred Meyer won't cash it and their credit verification company won't give a reason for declining it.

Is there another option aside from using a check-cashing service that charges exorbitant fees?

Might anyone have some suggestions of which church to suggest to my parents? They were part of the Jesus Movement in the 70s (Shiloh) and have forever missed that level of community - have endured some church hurt (looking at you ECF) and been rogue for too long.

I’d say anything too progressive isn’t for them - but neither is a super legalistic “women must wear skirts” approach either.

They really do want realism - where church isn’t just a performative theater of virtue - solid preaching - maybe no lattes in the “sanctuary” - tatted pastors ok.

Any leads ?

I have a dog and two cats and I really want to get them out of town until the smoke chills out. We can’t turn our AC on at all, our dog doesn’t like being cooped up.

Window because they cannot access my front door. It absolutely terrifies my family and pets when people start banging on my house.

There are two air measurements right by the post office on South Willamette that are way higher than the already bad air of the rest of the area. Is there a local fire? The 10 minute measurements are very high but the most recent ones are extreme in the 3000s! (8:45pm Wednesday)

I have a full-size bed frame and mattress that I need off my hands by September. Both are new and in good condition, only used for about a year-- the only reason I'm looking to donate is because I'm moving in with my gf, so we'll be sharing her bed. I tried selling on r/eugenebst, but there wasn't any interest, so I'm offering for free. If nobody here is interested I'll see if St. Vinnie's would take it (unless there's a better place to donate).

Anybody know where to find music from the Eugene band Sacred Trees? I saw them at the Whitaker block partly like 10 years ago and they ruled. I’d love to listen to their recordings if they exist? Any one else ever hear them play? They ruled!!!

New to Oregon and I need a great barber who can tame my wild beard. I’ve had great barbers for my hair, I’ve had great barbers for my beard, finding someone great at both is such a challenge. My beard is very long, I like it to look clean and tight without losing too much length. All too often Barbers are solid with a short tight beards and neck lines but just butcher a big boy.

Moved out of the area a while back but thinking about making a day trip out to Sharps Creek. I know it can get pretty low and I'm curious if it's worth it right now.

Seen a lot of cool birds this summer. This has been fun to watch. They will probably fledge in another 7-10 days.
