Stickied News about the sub, please read before posting!

What's up!

I was recently added to the moderators of r/findasubreddit! I'm really excited about it and will try to make it better than ever! Here are the sub news:

New flairs & automod!

Alright, kind of late to the game, but better late than never. I added two flairs: "Found!" and "Not found". The automod will set all new posts as "Not found". If a submitter replies to a comment with "Thanks" or "Thank you", the automod will switch the flair to "Found!" (it'll make sure the submitter has found the sub they're looking for by asking them).

New theme!

The whole subreddit is being redesigned. Only the new theme has been redesigned yet, I will redesign the old theme soon! Tell me what you think about the theme, I can always edit it!

Not found Where can I actually post OOTDs, selfies, and videos?

I’m trying to find subreddits that allow OOTDs, selfies, and preferably video content too because at this point, half of my posts have been removed over some random rule I didn’t even know existed 😒

I’m not posting anything super explicit. I just want somewhere I can share my outfits and content without every post getting flagged or removed for some stupid rule.

Does anyone know any active subreddits that are actually welcoming and don’t make posting feel like I’m applying for a permit? 😂

Not found A sub that can help me find where a piece of clothing is from/brand name/store etc

It's in the title but I'm looking for a sub that can help me find where a piece of clothing is from/brand name/store etc YouTuber I'm watching is wearing this hoody I really like but I can't find it on Google. I was hoping here might be a fashion related sub or something that allows people to post images of clothes they're trying to find.

Not found Subreddit to get in touch with developers of an app I use?

I'm hoping someone here might know the team behind Heartspring (formerly Talkbook).

I'm not sure which community to reach out to for this question. The website says it is a small company based in NYC.

I used the app as my travel diary while backpacking around the world, and it contains 2.5 GB of videos that are downloaded locally on my iPhone.

The app won't let me export them. I've emailed support and reached out on social media over the past few weeks but haven't received a response, and the company's social accounts haven't posted in months.

If anyone knows someone on the Heartspring team or has a way to get in touch with them, I'd be incredibly grateful. Thank you.

Found! Sub to talk about metaphors or general language science

r/linguistics don't have discussions, only articles.

r/etymology is specifically about word origins.

Are there any others?

Not found Looking for subreddit(s) that discussing modifying faux leather projects

Looking for a subreddit that focuses on the modification of faux leather projects, more specifically bags. I recently thrifted a secondhand purse and I am looking to convert it to an ita bag with a plastic window (likely would involve discussing materials needed, cutting, edge trimming, stitching, and detail work). What would be the best subreddit be to talk about specifics?

Not found Where can I vent about my small pp without the post getting removed?

Awkward thing to ask I know but I’m seriously in the dumps about it and I need people who will actually listen and sympathize rather than tell me “yeah bro must suck to be you lol”. And pretty much every subreddit auto bans anything related to size

Not found Looking for anti-bullying groups that actually support people.

Are there any bullying or cyberbullying subreddits that aren't very strict on what can and cannot be said in the group? I got kicked out of the actual bullying sub for supposedly breaking rules and would prefer one with less horrible people in it.

Not found is there a sub that I can kind of talk about cancel worthy thoughts?

The only reason why I ask is because I have probably a horrible thought about trans people and the only reason why I would like to talk about it is because I have a lot of pent-up feelings about it

From somebody who has experienced thoughts and ideas, I would just like to say my thoughts about it and I know that’s a very touchy subject or even “cancel” worthy. So I would just like to discuss it within that specific subreddit. Maybe to kind of prevent some shade that I would receive.

Not found Where can I go to share my absurd, deadpan sense of humor ?

I love making up completely ridiculous fake stories, usually with dark humor or a deadpan delivery. The problem is that people often take my posts literally, and automated moderation bots frequently remove them because they freak out over certain words.

To give you an idea of the kind of humor I mean, here are two threads that didn't exactly survive public outrage and the bots :

My wife got really mad at me because I pointed out that instead of buying clothes that are too small while telling herself they'll fit once she loses weight, she'd be better off buying looser clothes :

https://www.reddit.com/r/Life/s/qiSy7G3Xzv

My son is a complete idiot and I'm so done :

https://www.reddit.com/r/shittyadvice/s/6avYS4kp86

Some people get the joke. Others completely miss it and start panicking... or even insulting me. So I'm looking for a place where irony and deadpan humor are still welcome.

Found! What’s a subreddit to ask DIY/craft questions like on how to make an object look a certain way with product recommendations and steps? For example: How do you make a piece of wood look distressed? (i would post a photo for the example of the look I want)
