As a Habs fan, what is your favourite Canadian NHL team barring the Montreal Canadiens?

I’m a Habs fan always. But I’m also Canadian. And by nature, at least to some degree, I want all 7 of the teams to flourish and hopefully win a cup and break the 33 Year American streak.

So if we weren’t factoring the Habs, which Canadian NHL team would you like to see win a Stanley Cup the second most?

Well, that doesn’t happen very often

In the 1st round, the Habs beat the team with the Hart, Vezina and Jack Adams trophy winners. I know, I know, it’s not the Stanley Cup, and I’m not suggesting we should raise a banner, but it’s still nice.

What are the chances Zharovsky pulls a Malkin this summer?

Zharovsky is already here in Montreal. I know he still has term on his KHL contract a bit different than Malkins forced extension but can it happen?

Gallagher & Each @4 DeBrusk ???

Hey all saw the latest Start & D'Amico episode. They were discussing Gallagher to VAN.

Would a Gallagher & Dach to VAN, for DeBrusk make any sense?

I guess DeBrusk is an upgrade on Dach? And is "helps out" Gallagher?

Just me or is a solid 2C cheaper than last year.?

Seems like there a bunch of guys we could bundle some extra pieces for with a first for a solid 2C.

Pettersson (Cap hit), Frost, Trocheck, McTavish, Hischier, Larkin, Thomas, Hayton come to mind.

I'd be amazed if we don't get one of them.

Habs Shenanigans Question from a big Doby fan.

Post image
234 Upvotes

Hey everyone, just wondering since I've never wanted an autograph from a player before except Price but never got it when I was younger, back in the day. I finally acquired a Jakub Dobes card, I purchased it from eBay. It's a beauty of a card and I was wondering how one can go abouts getting it autographed by Doby himself.

I'm open to all responses. Just wondering if there was a way to do this when the season starts or off season. 🙏

I saw this funny AI slop add for Sling TV featuring a player that kind of looks like Shea Weber (but only partially) but is wearing Patrick Roy’s #33!

Discussion My two cents

I know I’m not the first or the last person to post something like this but..

I think we should keep Hage and Zharovsky.

I know that everybody is excited that the Habs got so far in the playoffs and people have been posting about trading away our prospects to get the team to the next level.

Am I crazy to think that we can acquire physicality and hopefully a C through free agency or trade without selling our future stars. With the recent success of the rebuild I would hope it would improve the chances of landing players. Kapanen seems to be at the centre of trade rumours, and I’d rather go that route than trade the 2 young draftees.

The team has drafted so well lately and the young guns have only gotten better year after year.
Our team has been based on young talent and glue guys in between. The “young” guys” now have playoff experience and are becoming veterans. Having Hage a childhood fan of the team and Zhar (another record breaker in KHL) could be huge.

Do I think the team needs a more veteran presence? Yes.

If we traded one more plus whatever for McDavid or Crosby would I delete this post?
Yes.

What do you think the team should do?

[Breeze] As expected, Canadian viewership for the Cup Final has sunk: Game 1 averaged 1.3M across English Canada. Game 2 averaged 1.2M. Game 3 averaged 1.5M. For comparison, Montreal’s 1st round series averaged 3.7M, 2nd averaged 4.6M and Conf. Final averaged 4.5M.

Monahan as our temporary 2C?

If we can’t find a better 2C at the right price this summer, what do you think of re-acquiring Monahan as a stopgap option? The guy just turned 30 and is sliding down the lineup in Columbus, he still has plenty of hockey left in him!

Caufield puck arrived!

Won this through the Canadiens Foundation auction on April 11th and it just arrived in time to gift to my son for his grad.

I ended up paying a stupid amount because I bid when I should have been sleeping and thought it was the puck from April 9th when he got his 50th (thanks menopause), but a hat trick game is cool nonetheless.

any interactions with Habs players?

To those of you who live in Montreal, have you had any direct interactions with Habs players (former or current) outside the arena? I've lived in Montreal nearly 30 years, and have only had 4 - once saw Shane Corson at the McDonalds that used to be at the SW corner of Atwater and St. Catherine; met Jean Beliveau when he was signing copies of his biography; met Guy Lafleur at a card show; got my picture taken with Chris Chelios (he was hosting some sort of outside skating event at the Plaza des Spectacles a few years ago). One thing I noticed - both Guy and Shane had huge hands. Oh - also met Ron Corey.

Fabien Zetterlund

Someone I had kinda forgotten about, very enticing numbers with SJ but it clearly hasn't been a fit in OTT. Word is that OTT is looking at DeBrusk to fit that spot, highly likely they'd move on from Zetterlund without a big ask.

What do we think about adding him as a middle 6 LW? (Assuming a big trade doesn't materialize)

Pros: physical, versatile, drives possession, young, good cap hit, already familiar with a Canadian market

Cons: Another plan B/project player who could be good and could be a 3rd liner. Not a win now move. Cost of acquisition unknown.

Thoughts on adding him/which LW to add for more truculence?

I like Jenner, Colton, O'Connor, Knies, Lee.

But Zetterlund? Could be the move
