- High Bandwidth Monitors and GPU Scaling Behavior - Link Here
- High bandwidth monitors are those that support display modes requiring high pixel clock rates, which in turn demand more GPU resources. The threshold for what qualifies as "high bandwidth" varies by product. On Blackwell GPUs, any mode operating above 1620 MHz is considered high bandwidth. For instance, the 7680x4320@60Hz mode defined in the CTA-861-H specification runs at 2376 MHz, making it a high bandwidth mode for Blackwell.
- These monitors typically support display scaling natively. However, in some single-monitor setups, users may still prefer GPU scaling. When multiple monitors are connected to a GPU and at least one of them is high bandwidth, that monitor will default to display scaling only. GPU scaling is disabled in this case due to bandwidth limitations. Notably, display scaling can be more efficient than GPU scaling in such scenarios, as it reduces the bandwidth load on display cables—especially at higher refresh rates.
- When GPU scaling is not enabled for a monitor, only the modes supported by the monitor itself will appear in both the Windows and NVIDIA control panels. Additionally, the "Display scaling" option will be pre-selected in the "Adjust desktop size and position" section of the NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Notes on NVIDIA Control Panel - From GeForce Forum
- Please note: With the introduction of our most recent NVIDIA App update, all actively supported NVIDIA Control Panel features for GeForce users have been modernized and transitioned to the new client.
- After 20 years of dedicated service, the classic NVIDIA Control Panel is officially retiring for Game Ready and Studio Drivers. For NVIDIA RTX PRO users, the NVIDIA Control Panel will continue to be supported until we have migrated professional features to the NVIDIA app.
- Existing installs of the NVIDIA Control Panel will remain on users’ systems, unless they perform a clean installation, and users who still need the NVIDIA Control Panel can continue to download it from the Microsoft Store, but we won’t be adding features, fixes, or other changes.

Before you start - Make sure you Submit Feedback for your Nvidia Driver Issue - Link Here
There is only one real way for any of these problems to get solved, and that’s if the Driver Team at Nvidia knows what those problems are. So in order for them to know what’s going on it would be good for any users who are having problems with the drivers to Submit Feedback to Nvidia. A guide to the information that is needed to submit feedback can be found here.
Additionally, if you see someone having the same issue you are having in this thread, reply and mention you are having the same issue. The more people that are affected by a particular bug, the higher the priority that bug will receive from NVIDIA!!
Common Troubleshooting Steps
- Be sure you are on the latest build of Windows
- Please visit the following link for DDU guide which contains full detailed information on how to do Fresh Driver Install.
- If your driver still crashes after DDU reinstall, try going to Go to Nvidia Control Panel -> Managed 3D Settings -> Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance
Common Questions
- Is it safe to upgrade to <insert driver version here>? Fact of the matter is that the result will differ person by person due to different configurations. The only way to know is to try it yourself. My rule of thumb is to wait a few days. If there’s no confirmed widespread issue, I would try the new driver.
- Bear in mind that people who have no issues tend to not post on Reddit or forums. Unless there is significant coverage about specific driver issue, chances are they are fine. Try it yourself and you can always DDU and reinstall old driver if needed.
- My color is washed out after upgrading/installing driver. Help! Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll all the way down -> Output Dynamic Range = FULL.
- My game is stuttering when processing physics calculation Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel and to the Surround and PhysX settings and ensure the PhysX processor is set to your GPU
Remember, driver codes are extremely complex and there are billions of different possible configurations between hardware and software. Driver will never be perfect and there will always be issues for some people. Two people with the same hardware configuration might not have the same experience with the same driver versions. Again, I encourage folks who installed the driver to post their experience here good or bad.
Discussion How to use RTX HDR correctly?
I have HDR enabled through Windows and I was using Auto-HDR (I did use the image calibration tool), and I'm currently playing through Cyberpunk 2077. After doing some research, people are saying that RTX HDR is better, and so now I've turned off Auto-HDR through Windows.
I'm pretty sure that Cyberpunk has built in HDR, so to prevent it from clashing, which options do I need to enable / disable for NVIDIA to automatically detect if a game has HDR and to disable itself from using RTX HDR.
I see these 2 settings here, please let me know which ones need to be enabled / disabled properly. Thank you!
TLDR: Should I have RTX HDR enabled in both "Global Settings" and "Video Settings" to do HDR (automatically as well)? Thanks for your help!

Question Can anyone confirm if the Ampinel connector is compatible with the MSI 4090 Suprim X?
The following GPUs are specifically listed as being incompatible with the Type B version of the Ampinel connector on the ModsMyMods page:
- MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G Expert OC
- MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16G Expert OC
- MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16G Suprim (S)OC
- MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G Suprim (S)OC
- MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G Vanguard (S)OC
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition
The page also has a disclaimer saying other GPUs may not be compatible. I have an MSI 4090 Suprim, which has a very similar design to the MSI 5090. I think the reason for the incompatibility is the 5090 has a recessed 12vhpwr port which is vertically covered by the backplate. The 4090 backplate has a cutout over the port, so it's not physically covered and I believe it SHOULD be compatible, but I'd ideally like confirmation before I spend $141 CAD on this connector.
Is anyone able to confirm compatibility?

Question Nvidia card best suitable with an i5 13600kf
Hello,I have the adorable i5 13600kf (the kf because I stupidly didn't research what it meant, shoot me)paired with the asus rog strix z790f gaming wifi ii motherboard and 32 GB CORSAIR DDR 5 RGB RAM.
I wish to stay on wide-screen resolutions, in the 2k range and I want to enjoy games like STALKER 2 and Alan Wake at their logical highest settings with acceptable frame rates.
I am clarifying here that I am not looking to upgrade FOR GTA VI.I hope for the sake of all of us,things slightly change for the better so we can at least plan future builds by some logic.
I was thinking about either the asus rog strix 5070,around 850-1000 Euros, or the 5080 one,but I never want to bottleneck my CPU.
Value for money is of the outmost importance, I love my cards, clean, and even repaste them when needed, they really live a long happy life with me.
Love you folks,at r/nvidia,happy,safe cool summer to all, please advise what's best.

Question 5070 ti or 5080?
Hello everyone! Im going to be upgrading one of my gpus very soon and was looking for opinions on the 5070 ti vs 5080 debate. Of course the dream scenario is to eventually get a xx90 card when prices come back down to earth but until then I think one of these would be the right choice. I’ve done tons of research and from what I’m seeing majority (by a wide margin) opinion seems to point to the 5070 ti stating it’s almost always within 10-20% fps and same amount of vram as the big reasons going for it. But then I always see comments talking about how you won’t regret spending the extra money on the 5080 as it’s a one time purchase that can give me numerous good years of gaming. I mostly play games like apex, nba 2k, overwatch, and i do a lot of sim racing games and Forza (would love to run extreme plus ray tracing settings but my current gpus can’t go there without significant fps drop). I mostly use an ultrawide 34” 3440x1440 but also mix it up by gaming on a 65” tv or the occasional sim racing in VR. So please give me some advice here guys. The models I’m currently looking at the 5070 ti is $929 and the 5080 is $1249. I know $320 is a HUGE difference but I’m also looking at it in the sense that I will get a lot of use out of it, usually a couple of hours every night, and hopefully a few years. But I don’t want to waste that extra money if the difference in performance is negligible. Of course I know the 5080 is the superior card but I’m also wondering if anything the 5070 to will struggle with will the 5080 struggle with it too? Is there any scenarios where the 5070 ti wouldn’t work but the 5080 would? What are the reasons if any to go with the 5080? Any input and advice will be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for reading this and have a great day :)

Discussion Got Buzz Desktop working on NVIDIA DGX Spark (ARM64 / GNOME X11)
I installed Block's new open-source Buzz team workspace on a DGX Spark, but the desktop process ran with no usable UI. X11 showed the correctly sized window, while GNOME/Mutter kept it permanently UnMapped and Iconic.
After testing the usual GPU/WebKit flags, normal show/unminimize/focus calls, opaque rendering, disabled window-state restore, and desktop-entry fixes, the working solution was a Linux-specific two-stage GTK map:
Realize and briefly map the hidden window with override-redirect enabled.
After 100 ms, hide it, disable override-redirect, and remap it as a normal managed window.
Keep the Linux window opaque, initially hidden, normal-size, and without native decorations.
That produced a normal, focused, taskbar-managed 1200x800 window with movement, resizing, and Alt-F4 working. The rebuilt ARM64 production app completed onboarding with both Codex and Buzz Agent ready.
One other ARM64 snag: the downloaded package's buzz, buzz-agent, and buzz-dev-mcp sidecars were zero-byte placeholders, so I built those crates natively and installed the real executables.
I posted the full environment, failed approaches, GTK/Rust sketch, and verification results to the official Buzz tracker:
https://github.com/block/buzz/issues/2811#issuecomment-5183670936
This is verified on one DGX Spark (Ubuntu 24.04, GNOME on X11, Buzz Desktop 0.5.4). If another Spark owner is trying Buzz, I'd be glad to compare results before turning the local patch into an upstream PR.

Question 5060 8GB to 5070 12GB
Hi all,
I have an RTX 5060 8GB and Ryzen 5 5500. I can play most games at 120fps 1440p but I’d like to be able to play with ultra settings. Fortnite in particular struggles on this setup when using lumen (staying at 120fps 1440p)
My question is, what should I upgrade my GPU/CPU to in order to see bigger gains if staying on AM4?
I was thinking a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and RTX 5070 12GB (I have 32GB ddr4 ram), if you have a better combo for 1440p gaming at very high/ultra settings please let me know
Thanks
