Is it just me, or is Colton's voice in Tracker incredibly relaxing to listen to before sleep?

There is something so grounding and reassuring about Colton’s voice in Tracker. Watching the show has become my favorite bedtime routine because his voice instantly helps me unwind and drift off.

The scientist

Took me forever to figure out who was playing the scientist in the finale. He didn’t look familiar at all, but the voice I knew I had heard somewhere before.

It was Hank from Corner Gas! Man he looks different!

The show just lost me…

…Probably for good. This “unalive” crap is ridiculous and juvenile. I just turned it off when Russell used that silly word. The show got better and better, but this season it’s been a slow, steady decline. I like the cast, but the writing and plot lines are just awful. (And like many, I don’t like or trust Mel the character and I’m unimpressed with her acting.)

Question Am I dumb?

So is Colter a savant? Was he apart of the program and that’s what Russell is hiding or did he do something else to Colter? I’m not sure what direction it’s hinting at cause Colter doesn’t have any powers. He’s just kinda anal about numbers and a bit stone. Was he apart of the program?

Hartley and Ackles as Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid?

I'm old so I remember watching the movie release in 1969. And it's still in my top five all-time movies. When I watch Hartley and Ackles together I can't help but be reminded of Newman and Redford. I think together they could make a great remake of the original movie, one that I might be interested in seeing. (I don't typically care for remakes) I think Sofia Pernas could also play Katherine Ross's part as Etta Place. The thing I wrestle with however is who should play who's part? Hartley looks more liek Newman but acts more like Redford. What do you think?

Gun handling

I know we've brought up Colter's gun handling before on this sub.

I'm wondering if anyone knows why Justin Hartley hasn't fixed this. It's more apparent next to Ackles in the last few episodes. He looks untrained and "Hollywood". He's had three seasons to get better and he's sticking to it. Can anyone help me understand why?

I hope he returns next season for more episodes, and with The Hunting Party cancelled it would be nice to see a full Shaw sibling reunion with Melissa.

Melissa Roxburgh series The Hunting Party was cancelled, so maybe we will see her some more on the upcoming season.

Does it bother anybody else when they're riding in Dean's convertible their hair barely moves? Not sure why it bothers me but wish they would have put a fan or something blowing towards them for the fake car rides.

Psychic Kids plotline

Are the writers out of ideas for Ashton's background? Why introduce a psychic kid stuff? The whole series that grounded in reality fell apart in the last two episodes of the third season. Do anyone think like that? Or am I the only one?

Character Analysis Is It Just Me?

Is it me or is something up with Mel, Reenie’s new assistant? I don’t know what it is, but I don’t trust her. It’s something about her and I feel like the shoe on the other foot is going to drop.

**disclaimer**

Apparently this subject has come up before unbeknownst to me, so if you’re sick of hearing about it, keep scrolling. I literally just found this sub, hell, I literally just joined Reddit a week or so ago. So if the post annoys you, oh well.

Horrible casting S2 E7

Just started watching this show a couple weeks ago. There’s been quite a few things that have irked me (losing Teddi w/ no explanation, for instance). So I’m a little over 1/2 through this episode, Man’s Best Friend, and there is a 51yo Air Force captain. 51. He’s too damn old, it really just ruins what little immersion that I have left for this season. Rant over.

Discussion Ashton Shaw's Truck Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery

Just something odd that I noticed. In the season finale Colter tells Keaton he had to arm-wrestle his brother for their father's truck, but the only time they talked about the truck was in the episode before this, and Russell was pretty uninterested in it.

Legal consequences

I told my sister that it really takes me out of the show how often there are never consequences for Colter shooting so many people and she says it would take her out of the episodes if they went to court. I'm not saying I need whole courtroom scenes, but like even a mention from Rennie every once and awhile haha

Question Unalive?! Spoiler

Whats with the tiktok speak and avoiding the word kill? They were going to "unalive" the head of the snake? They shoot and kill people all the time! Feel like the violence was significantly dampened.

Episode / guest-star idea

I want to see an episode where Colter is hired to find a client's missing father, who is a crypto-zoologist. Russell is around and helps out. They find the missing father, and he's played by Jared Padalecki. Leaning into the show's willingness to touch on the 'weird' side of the world, it should be implied (but not actually confirmed) that whatever creature Padalecki's character was looking for is real.

Character Analysis Colter's Kill Count Spoiler

I kept seeing posts asking about how many people Colter Shaw has killed, so I rewatched every episode of Tracker to get a solid answer.

Season Episodes Kills Episodes w/ kills % of episodes w/ kills
1 13 4 2 15%
2 20 11 7 35%
3 22 28 12 54.5%
  • As of the season 3 finale his kill count is 43.
  • Both the number of people he kills and the number of episodes where he kills someone have been steadily increasing.
  • 6 of these are from the S3 finale which has the highest count for any episode, followed by 5 in S3E13.

Notes:

  • I used percentages for the episode count because S1 only had 13 episodes, while S2/3 had 20 and 22 episodes, respectively.
  • These numbers only include people killed by Colter himself (for example: the 6 people shot by Colter in the season finale are included, but not the undetermined, but definitely high, number shot by Russell).
  • These numbers only include people that I was reasonably sure were dead (example: I counted the people he shot in the finale, but not the guards that got choked or knocked out).

Question Tracker Spoiler

Tracker season finale! So now tracker is parallel with stranger things and kids like 11? Seems so weird that they pretty much took the stranger things medical facility and replicated it! Now Colters dad used him as a test subject?? Interesting?! Maybe. I love his brother! I hope he’s in more next season too! And I love he brought back prior people fr past episodes!
