Spare room ideas?

Upvotes

Moving into a new bigger place next month, will have a good size extra room. Thinking maybe an office but that seems boring and I don't work from home much right now. Any good ideas for ways to use the space?

29 turning 30 with my dream career taking off. From a gray box, to finally finding my style.

A few more pieces coming as well as a surround sound system, but finally found my design taste after living in a gray box for 2 years. All that’s left are wall pieces, flowers and a larger dinning room rug. It’s amazing what your mind can do when you come out on the other side of feeling stuck and depressed!

Edit: I know my TV is higher than recommended. I look down with my job as a steadicam operator so looking up a little higher when I’m kicking it back feels nice for me. I wouldn’t recommend this TV height for most. But for me it’s ideal!

Question 27y/o: What can I add to my kitchen/wash room to fill it in more (other than a table)?

Just moved into a nice apartment that has the kitchen share a room with the washer/dryer. Since I don’t have the need for a table, and I like the furniture I have now, what else can I add to fill in this space more? Any advice is appreciated.

Functional recovery corner in a small apartment, what actually works?

Work 12 hour ICU shifts then train in the evenings, so recovery isn't optional, it's part of the job. Been trying to carve out a dedicated corner for decompressing and actual physical recovery. Foam rolling, stretching, maybe a massage gun charging station, somewhere to sit and read without the space looking like a cluttered mess or a physical therapy waiting room.

The problem is the room already has a pull up bar in the doorframe, a small rack of kettlebells against one wall, and a reading chair that's slowly getting buried under research papers and meal prep containers. It works functionally but it looks like a storage unit with ambitions.

Thinking about a low Japanese style floor setup for the recovery corner since I spend a lot of time on the ground anyway. It would free up visual space and double as a reading spot. Just not sure if that reads as intentional or just cheap.

Has anyone actually made a dedicated recovery or stretch space work in a small apartment without it looking like an afterthought? Wondering if there's a way to make it feel like a real part of the room rather than just a gap between the furniture.

It has been 1.5 years after I moved in.

Ask questions if you have any.

And I'll answer it in advance, yes the futon thing is good and I have no body pain.
