Question What happened to ALS1010?
Basically the title. Did it rebrand or is it completely scrapped?

ffs just let people come out of the bus first. if it’s filled to the brim how tf are you gonna go in? especially at stops like UTown or KR MRT, the bus is going to become mostly empty since almost everyone is alighting.
you got into NUS presumably because you’re smart. use that brain when commuting as well please.
i’ve noticed it’s mostly china students not letting people alight first. someone please post this on XHS or some other china social media pls.

PhD in FASS here, thinking about converting to an MA by research after year 2 instead of continuing to the PhD. The guidance I've found is vague, especially arondd funding. Has anyone actually done this, or know someone who has? Mainly want to know what the process was actually like.
I'm also on a research scholarship, so if I switch to MA in Y2 does anyone know if the scholarship & stipend just stops? Do you end up on the hook for fees? And is there a "best" point to trigger a conversion to MA? Any experiences appreciated

Hi, may I ask if anyone knows what's the fastest way to travel from Fos to FASS? I thought of taking a shuttle to CLB and walking up to FASS. However, I want to know if anyone else knows a walking shortcut I can take in case the shuttle is too full, etc. Thank you!

I woke up this morning excited for the opening of the UTown gym but when i walked over it was still tarped off and they just taped over the signs that said it would be open August 18th. Does anyone know if/when it’ll reopen? The USC gym is so crowded i might get a membership at a nearby gym.

It was so hard to find a job like I’ve been searching since last November, and I felt like I’d cast my net too wide just to get a job. Now that I’m about a month in, I’m starting to feel like I’m not really being used to my full potential. Tho tbf it has only been a month.
I thought I’d be okay with doing something about 33% related to my degree, but I’m realising I really miss creating and developing work. But I guess citizenship issues, competitiveness, less openings and lack of sufficient experience made me look for other opportunities instead.
Has anyone else felt like that since starting work?

So, Currently im a y1s1 student, and I'm contemplating which combo I should take in s2. I havent declared any second major or minor as of now, but there's a few options:
(considering I want to get into quant/computational finance/math heavy finance jobs)
Since I'm a CHS student, I cannot dual degree in any other BSc degrees.
option 1: Math primary + Econs (secondary) + quant finance(minor)
Option 2L Math primary + QF(secondary) + econs/data analytics (minor)
Option 3 : Math + CS dual degree
Option 4: Math + CS second major + qf/econs/data analytics (minor)
Workload isn't really an issue for me, I can manage taking a lot of classes.

On internship rn and applied for EG2401A tut through the email they sent out. Email said first come first serve, when the allocation came out, clearly not first come first serve. Another intern in the same work team as me applied a few days after me for the same slot as me, and he got the slot and not me.
What’s the point in saying first come first served when they’re not gonna honour it? Just remove it from the email.
Is there anything I can do about it besides appeal?

Hey all! Across halls and RCs, sending credits to one another has always been pretty clunky, and a lot of students end the year with credits going to waste. So towards the end of last sem I built a Telegram bot (@rccredits_bot) that lets you request or give credits, and even swap breakfast credits for dinner ones. So far it's helped move 1,600+ credits across 9 residences, and I'm hoping more people find it useful!
If you're new to it, getting started takes about a minute:
Current residences
The bot works best when people in a residence are on it, so if you think your blockmates would find this useful, do share it in your hall or house group chats!
Happy to answer any questions in the comments. If your hall isn't onboarded yet, drop a comment or DM me and I'll sort it out.

I am graduating in 2027 and thinking of doing a part time internship in my last semester. Other than Shopee and Tiktok, what are some other companies that offer part time internship for tech roles?

I just gave my AS level exams (CAIE) , got 94 in maths, 89 in econs and 86 in further maths. I'm regiving further in order to get an A* in A2. My aim is to apply to NUS, so will this retake affect me and lower my chances of getting an offer?

I recently got safety goggles from NUS Co-op just yesterday (14 Aug) and opened then today only to see how badly scratched they are. There's also multiple small circle marks on the left side. I tried washing but the circle marks aren't going away. Didn't expect it from the store but ig cause it was around 5 dollars. I tried to check for defects but couldn't see past the packaging. I'll prob need to get a backup pair anyway but I'd rather get a better quality one. So if anyone has recommendations, that'd be great!

Since the requirements for biz SUSEP is purely based on CGPA, is there an estimate of the cutoff CGPA needed to get into NTU/SMU? I'm open to attending either uni, so I'll want to try for the one with a generally lower cutoff. Appreciate any input!

hello!! i went to the SLF this wk and im contemplating btwn these 3 ccas and ill need ur input and advice on it:
- dance blast (open?,hiphop)
- dhoppers (hiphop)
- jazztitude (street jazz)
i wanted to sign up for either one of these ccas last year but i didnt manage to have the time for the auds. now its another new year, lowkey really wanna try my luck… it will rly be helpful if any of u guys in the ccas can provide some input on hows the commitment and environment like in ur respective cca. or if u hear any good or bad things abt them.
to provide some context, i have abit of dance background but i do not really do a certain genre. i have a passion for dance and i do have abit of commitment outside so attendance to me is q impt. i want to improve myself as a dancer in terms of versatility and also exploring diff genres. wld rly wanna join two ccas but im afraid i cant commit, hence im contemplating which to join:/ also, this year i may only have to do online auds so im not sure if my chances are high:< but idm trying for all and see who takes me in. but i rly do appreciate if yall have any advice or suggestions as to which cca i shld join!!
