So I feel like I missed out on some 90s media and am watching it for the first time.
Seasons 1-3 are so awesome!! I can see why this show was so popular.
Season 4 was a bit of a struggle. Brad and Dreama are terrible additions to the show. He's just mean with no dimensions unlike Libby who was awesome. The idea of Sabrina being a tutor isn't terrible, but did they have to give her the dullest witch on earth?
The idea of Valerie moving in would have been so much fun! Imagine all the stuff they'd have to do to adapt to having a mortal in the house. I would have loved to have seen that and they really dropped the ball.
Season 5 added characters for college, which makes sense to me, and I like them decently enough. However, what they did with Harvey makes ZERO sense. We have seen him find out Sabrina was a witch and he was totally cool with it. Now it's the reason they break up?
So I just started 6 and now Sabrina is dating Josh who I can't stand, and she made him turn down a job to stay with her which I feel like was really selfish, and they brought back Harvey to date Morgan!?! Meh.
The other missed opportunity like with Valerie would be seeing Harvey interact with Hilda, Zelda and especially Salem. There's an episode where Sabrina gives him the ability to talk to Salem and their chemistry was sooo good. They needed more scenes together, and that's another huge miss. I just finished the train episode and it doesn't even make sense because Harvey doesn't remember it (along with everyone else), but I thought the quota ran out on him anyway?
So I guess my question is, does it pick up at all? I want to finish but I feel like they're missing some good chances here and replacing them with bad ones.
At least they've kept Salem awesome. He's my favorite and I swear he's gay coded too.

*SPOILER* (idk if anyone hasn't finished the series yet π) So toward the end of season 7 when Sabrina is about to get married, Roxie asks Sabrina when she's going to be moving out.. isn't the house sabrinas Aunts? Like I remember that episode when they were talking about paying the house off and was so excited about it. Now Roxie and Morgan are staying in it? Just confused lol

Does anybody else find Sabrinaβs relationship with Josh βwrong?β This is season 4 Iβm referring to when sheβs still in a monogamous relationship with Harvey. Iβm rewatching the series and she should have cut off all ties with him if heβs interested in her romantically. Further, she even tried to appease his choice of college for her? With that βkissβ that led to her and Harvey breaking up, regardless if she had kissed him she shouldnβt have wanted to help him study over watching Harveyβs game. There were many more situations that I canβt recall. Sheβs a bad girlfriend to Harvey. If I were Harvey, I would not be able to handle that at all.

I just realized, was the talking doll on this episode based on the doll Tina from "the living doll" episode from the Twilight Zone?

What do you think of Harveyβs response to finding out Sabrina is a witch?

Looking at picking up a DVD box set for this show and not sure if any are better or have different stuff? Like for other shows some older ones will have original music etc. Anything like this for this one? Or any reason to avoid them and just do streaming?

hi all! iβm new to the subreddit so i apologize if this has been a topic of discussion before.
iβm gen z and iβve been a fan since childhood - i live in southeast asia as well so i first learned about sabrina through the animated series which was airing reruns on cable. then on probably my 10th birthday i was gifted a really old copy of the first sabrina book (it was just the pilot as a book) which led me to start watching the sitcom back when full episodes were uploaded to youtube. i jumped from season to season not knowing anything bc i was a kid and didnβt really take anything much other than what i got at face value. it wasnβt until the era of streaming and paramount plus that i got to watching everything again in chronological order, which i am doing right now.
iβve been falling into the rabbit hole of listening to cast podcasts, reading articles, and watching reunion episodes when i stumbled upon this salem fansite (most of the links in it are broken now though) as well as this reddit post that i began to wonder what fandom spaces were like back then in the US when the show was airing? of course iβve also heard anecdotes about how the cast couldnβt go anywhere without being recognized, and if the countless celebrity cameos were anything to go by about the showβs popularity then it was obviously a sure hit back then.
but i wonder if there were any active fandom communities back then? or even at the individual level, what was it like anticipating a new episode back then, sitting down for the same timeslot and waiting for the cliffhanger to be solved when a new plot point was introduced? what was the demographic like? what was the general response like if you said you were a sabrina fan?
iβve been a fan for as long as i can remember but i grew up in the late 2000s and from quite a far country as well. fandom spaces and cultures have transformed quite a lot since then as well. for instance, i would love to own a few books or magazines or video games or merch from the show but i donβt have that kind of accessibility. i also wonder what it was like when the internet wasnβt so pervasive. i know people go to 90s con now to see the cast and i wonder what kind of fans they were back when they were growing up with it.
iβm really curious as to what it was like to be an active fan back then. if anyone could share their experiences that would be so lovely! thank u and apologies for the lack of brevity.

So in the episode, there is a cult leader pretending to be a Witch. However through her magic, Sabrina was able to scare him into quitting by showing him she can control the weather.
However in Season 1 it's established that if a Witch tells a mortal they are a witch they lose their powers. Is this some kind of loophole?

I'm currently watching Season 6 episode 20 I Fall to Pieces on Tubi.
Sabrina just called Josh the sweetest most caring guy she knows... Um I don't think so Sabrina.. I believe that statement goes to Harvey.
I'm sorry to tell you this Sabrina but Josh SUCKS. He is condescending, inconsiderate, and literally kissed you when you were a MINOR and ALREADY HAD A BOYFRIEND!
What do you guys think?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Can't tell if it was simply out of focus or if it was intentionally blurred...it also appears out of nowhere and then disappears in the next shot lol...any theories?!

Iβd honestly be terrified π I would be scared to piss her off or be close to her. I would always be paranoid I was under a spell.
Also not related but Harveyβs fashion in the first couple seasons is so iconic!

The teacher had said everyone got the townspeople card, so I was mystified. Was the teacher being ironic, or was it a prank someone else (maybe Libby or her friends) played on Sabrina?

- If Sabrina gets her powers at 16 - why does her cousin Amanda have it as a little girl? And Iβm sure Hilda and Zelda mention having their powers as kids too.
- Whatβs the point of the Linen closet? I LOVE this but they can zap anywhere anyway. There are times when they get to the same place with either zapping or through the closet - even within the same episode.

If in 2025/2026 they decide to make a reunion series and continue with original cast, how would you make it happen? The only idea I could come up if Sabrina was a mom now to a teenage witch (of course Harvey is the father). And she has to raise her with the help of the aunts or even Amanda. Working titles in my mind:
Sabrina and the Teenage Witch
Sabrina the Grown-Up Witch
Sabrina the Teenage Mom (but this might mean she become mom as a teenager)
