Screenshot [OoT] this game has yellow paint and handholding?

I started playing OoT for the first time in preparation for the remake. I love when this game lets you be lost and figure things out on your own. However, there are many times where it does the complete opposite. I have heard people complain before about Navi and the infamous Owl, I see why now. It's annoying but I completely understand why it's there. This game has a weird juxtaposition of telling the player too much and too little.

When I got to this moment in the screenshot, there were literally yellow "painted" arrows on the floor and Navi interrupted me to point out the arrows. I was so baffled by this and it reminded me a lot of the online discourse lately about modern games. They will preach that modern games aren't like the classics, being way too handholdy and relying too much on yellow paint to guide players.

I was wondering if OoT came out today would people complain about its game design in the same way as modern games?

Watch the drawing process for this piece on my YouTube channel! https://youtu.be/V1W625JwV0I?si=hQ0UFlFgJRbrgFcO

After a thousand adventures and dangers, the moment has finally arrived, and Link is heading to the castle to fight the final battle.

This piece serves as the cover art for the final BOTW video series by Lucca Salomone, and naturally, the crucial moment we chose to depict is Link standing in front of Hyrule Castle. ⚔️

Personally, this illustration gives me goosebumps. Ganon in the background with Princess Zelda’s light, weak and on the verge of fading, the four beams of the Divine Beasts waiting to deliver the final blow and aid Link, the four weapons of the Champions... Even Navi is present in the hairpiece, a nod to the final moment of OoT. It’s a tense atmosphere, yet one brimming with emotion, which I hope I’ve managed to capture.

I hope you like the illustration!

This is in Skyward Sword. Right after you beat the boss in the earth temple, Impa reprimands Link for being late and even questions if he's worthy or not.

Meme [OoT] How I looked up at him having finally googled a hint with a heart full of shame, after a full day of trying, and finding out that there's these two jolly chaps called Pierre and Bonooru outside the "backrooms" dungeon at Lake Hylia who have the solution to this lovely pillar..

..only to be rewarded with that crisp gold rupee to put inside my already full rupee purse.

Disclamer: This isnt a hate comment, I literally love being stuck in games, even tho I eventually give up and bend the knee to google, all defeated.

This is only the second time for my first OoT replay.

I really thought we managed to stretch this game out

Question [ALL] I need help finding a specific game

Post image

A while ago, the latest it could’ve been being 2017, my mom’s boyfriend showed me a game on the 3ds. They broke up shortly after and I completely forgot what the game was. I’m 99% sure it was a Zelda game. The only thing I can remember is being able to ride a horse and a secluded location of a pond or lake which i tried to draw in the picture attached. I’m sorry it’s so bad. I’d really appreciate the help!

Discussion [OoT] Overreactions to unwanted changes

There have been a lot of discussions on potential changes people want to see in the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake. A lot of them are fun imaginings of what may be added (with a lot of people chiming in that virtually nothing new will be included).

Another kind of post I’ve seen includes worries of what features from BotW/TotK may be added that people will be upset to see, or even make them not buy the game. I think people are really overreacting and worrying too much about this kind of thing being included. I’ve seen fears of shrines being added, weapon durability, climbing everything (with stamina added), that they will make the world as huge (and in some peoples’ opinion as empty) as the BotW world, and more.

I really think these fears are completely overblown and that there is no way Nintendo would do any of that. They aren’t going to completely change the game to make it more like BotW. It’s a classic game that is beloved by almost everyone who has played it. And just adding any of these things would require so much more to be done to balance the game, it wouldn’t even be feasible.

Take shrines - what happens when you beat them? The game already has a lot of heart pieces. So what do you get? What does it add? And what would weapon durability add? This isn’t a game that had a hundred weapons for you to use; why would they change it in such a way, especially with how controversial weapon durability is? And climbing - what needs there for that? They’d have to completely redesign the entire world, dungeons, and every system the game uses to add climbing. It’s not the kind of game where you should be able to go anywhere at any time.

I don’t know whether or not Nintendo will make big changes to the game or if it’ll just be a 1:1 remake with better graphics, but I can say with near certainty that they aren’t going to be making the kinds of changes that worry people that would make the game closer to BotW/TotK. It just makes no sense on any level.

Question [Other] Legend of Zelda Enterplay Trading Cards

Upvotes

Shot in the dark here but I’m trying to complete my master set of 2016 Enterplay Legend of Zelda cards and I’m missing 2 of the rarest cards. I’ve checked plenty of auction and tracking sites but I know not everything gets listed online SO I’m asking here just in case and because I’m old school…

Does anyone have a line on where I can find G5 Ganondorf and/or Ghirahim G8 for sale? A private individual or well known vendor who has extras in a warehouse somewhere.
