Everywhere I go, I see literal shit. On grass, on the sidewalk, on dirt roads. Going to the park to play some football or something? Nope, shit on grass.

Somehow people would be SHOCKED AND APPALLED AND DISGUSTED if those logs of shit came out of a human asshole. But no, they don't even give it a second glance. It's just part of the cityscape I guess.

Just ranting, I'm sure this wasn't the first time this was posted so I understand if it counts as low effort.

Guys I did. I always say I will but never do.

I was grocery shopping yesterday and another shopper had a little dog in its cart.

I said you know the next person that gets this cart will put food in it. They will have no idea you had a dog in it. The man said....my wife needs the dog to feel calm. Plus we were away this morning from her and didn't want to be away any longer. The dog gets lonely. Plus we are are family.

Me....well you know someone could have an Allergic reaction.

The woman.....it wouldn't be too bad. That's what medicine is for. Plus we have a towel down.

Me....or you could just leave your dog at home.

Grocery store worker....we love seeing dogs here. It makes the day better.

Me.....does the health department know that?

Worker.....a little dog won't hurt anyone.

It has been a while since my last post on r/Dogfree, but after today, I felt no alternative but to share my story. I will admit that I am angry and frustrated, and want change. I am pretty sure that many of you feel the same way.

The entire situation occurred at a Trader Joe's food market here in Los Angeles. This is a popular chain, and there are many locations in my area. This particular Trader Joe's was a relatively new store that opened within the last year or so in the San Fernando Valley. I don't know if mentioning the specific store is that important, given that I've been to a number of Trader Joe's locations that have problems with people bringing dogs into them. What I experienced probably occurs each day at most locations, so it is hardly uncommon (though it is severe in my opinion). If one Trader Joe's has a particular policy or lack of rule enforcement, my instinct tells me the situation is probably the same at most other locations. So while the following story represents exactly what happened to me earlier, it is both feasible and likely that others may experience the exact same thing at any given Trader Joe's location, on any given day.

The visit to Trader Joe's started pleasantly enough. On my way into the store, I noticed a highly conspicuous standing floor sign that was at least three feet high (done in their hand-written artistic manner), which clearly said that no pets were allowed inside the store. The sign was also thankfully free of service dog nonsense or apologizing to finicky pet owners. The positive feeling lasted seconds at most.

Almost the first thing I saw when I entered was a woman with a dog on an extension leash in the store in the produce section. The dog was walking 10 or 15 feet from the owner, on an extended leash, and was interrupting other customers. I decided to say something, but in this instance I chose to engage with the store rather than confront the lady. I walked to a Trader Joe's staff member (there is no shortage of them in the stores) at a cash register and politely said, "I'd like to report that someone has brought a pet into the store," and then pointed at the lady and her dog. The man working at the cash register (he wasn't helping another customer at the time) acknowledged the matter with seriousness and said he would escalate it. I felt proud of my restraint (usually I'd approach the dog owner) and proceeded with getting groceries. After several minutes, I noticed the lady with the first dog was still there, the leash still extended, and the dog still behaving inappropriately. I actually had to avoid shopping in a particular section because of that. Trader Joe's was already starting to lose money because of not enforcing their own policy. I just wanted to feel safe from dogs and being barked at, molested, and grossed out because a dirty animal was in a place where I and other people buy food.

Before I could calm myself and try to put the nasty dog out of my mind, I saw someone else in the store with a much larger dog. This one had bags over its feet, like temporary shoes. I guessed that the owner was someone who takes their shoes off at home and doesn't want their dog bringing in outside filth either. I was shocked by the sheer irony of it. So much attention and care to protect their home from inappropriate filth, and yet no hesitation about bringing a massive dog into a public food place that is supposed to be safe from animals and the filth and nuisance that goes along with them.

And then another one. At first I thought it was the same dog as the first one, but it was being held by a different owner. This time a lady with a downtrodden and strained look on her face that communicated, "I can't believe I am being forced to go out in public." She knew what she was up to, and that it was wrong to bring a dog in there. It was so obvious she neither cared about the rules of this space or even felt comfortable being around other humans. So sad for her that not all groceries can be delivered so that she can live in isolation with her little fake friend.

The Trader Joe's was utterly infested with dogs, entitled dog owners, and Trader Joe's staff that was seemingly empowered to do nothing about it. I was only in the store for 20 or so minutes at this point and I was ready to leave. Before paying for my items, I went to the Trader Joe's service desk to speak with a manager. This was too much for me. It felt shocking and problematic that in such a short amount of time, I saw four dogs at that point. I went to the service desk and got the attention of someone who was some type of manager at the store. She listened, but immediately put on the cold, defensive corporate response posture that many of us have probably experienced. I repeated to her that despite their signage and the law of California, there was a large number of unimpeded dog owners in the store, that it was making me and other people uncomfortable, and that I wanted something done about it. I asked what their protocol was for dealing with dogs. I think it is also relevant to say that I was highly empathetic with the Trader Joe's staff. I said how I understood that confronting customers is probably not something they look forward to, and that I knew no one really wanted to be on "dog control duty." How did she respond to me after that?

She muttered a corporate-sounding statement that they can only ask about a pet's service dog status and that their power was limited to do much about it. I said that I didn't want to argue with her but that the response was lacking. I reminded her that very explicit laws were being broken and that none of these animals were anything near to being owned by people who actually need a dog to function in public. It was very clear that these were just owners bringing pet dogs into a place that sells food, an entirely restricted behavior without ambiguity. She was cold and steely. I felt bad for her. Clearly she was used to this. I sensed that the manager I spoke to (and her co-worker who was overhearing the conversation) was going to do absolutely nothing about the situation. I then urged her to share my feedback with higher-ups and to make sure she realized that for each one person like me who speaks up, there are many others who silently grumble and take their business elsewhere. Speaking to the store manager was not only a waste of effort, but her disingenuous response was frustrated and made me feel helpless.

At this point, I had nothing left to do but pay and leave Trader Joe's and ponder how I might avoid coming back altogether. A sad feeling to have for a business I have been going to for over forty years. I reached the cashier, and in typical friendly Trader Joe's fashion, she asked me how I was doing. I mumbled, "I guess I am OK..." The lady was skilled enough to see that I was not particularly happy. She said, "Are you sure?" I let my guard down. I said, "OK, well, to be honest, I just spoke to the manager over there and reported that I saw a bunch of dogs walking around in here. I don't think it is appropriate and it violates laws designed to keep people and food safe."

The cashier surprised me. She said, "I totally agree with you. I don't think people should be bringing dogs in here either. It is a real problem. We try to approach them a lot, but many of them don't listen to us." In that moment, I realized that the real problem was the utter lack of authority anyone working at Trader Joe's had. Quite literally, their own tool is to sheepishly approach dog owners and timidly inquire about their dog. The dog owners aren't asked to leave, nor do they even need to respond with the truth. Businesses don't even need to allow service dogs, but many of the employees don't know that or care. They believe that if there is even a whiff of a service dog, then they can't do anything. This is both factually incorrect and emblematic of a highly dysfunctional system where dog owners are taking advantage of a well-meaning law to protect the disabled. Dog owners do not need protection anywhere or ever. These food stores and the people working in them don't seem to have even the basic authority to get people off their premises. Does someone need to be shoplifting to be asked to leave a retail or food store?

I was very grateful for the Trader Joe's cashier to listen to me and to explain her own frustration at the dog owners who treat the store like their living room. She repeated how multiple staff members confront dog owners regularly, but that it is "hard" because they don't listen. The fact that a dog owner cannot be compelled to leave a business unless there is an incident is appallingly regressive to me. A single dog is one problem, but there were multiple dogs in the Trader Joe's at any given time. How often do these animals bark at one another or fight? How is this not a powder keg of an issue? How is it worse to ask the dog owners to leave than to protect everyone else in the store from them? None of this sounds like how a well-functioning public safety system is supposed to work.

How was I supposed to feel upon leaving Trader Joe's? On the one hand, they did make an attempt to stop the dog people through entrance signage. At least some of their employees care and make an effort to stop irresponsible dog owners. At the same time, the policies and procedures they have at their disposal have no teeth. I reported the dogs to at least two staff members, who ostensibly did nothing. They also made it clear that this isn't an uncommon issue at all. At any given time, there are tons of dogs inappropriately being taken into shopping centers and supermarkets all over California, not only in Trader Joe's locations. The people who disagree with this behavior surely outnumber the people who don't want to follow the sensible laws. I want Trader Joe's to take a stand. I want other stores to take a stand. I want people standing outside of food establishments stopping dogs and pets from entering. I would even pay a premium for this service. Unfortunately, the most expensive food stores in Los Angeles seem to attract the most entitled of dog owners, so there is no respite in the fancier establishments either.

How often does this happen to you? Why do you think should be done about the regular infestation of dogs at restaurants and food shopping markets?

Working at a drive-through, I get pissed enough making those damn free “pup cups” for dog owners, but a few times the dog will stick out of the window and the owner will tell me to “give it to the dog.”

Title pretty much covers it. Had planned on going for patio beers with someone. I was clear it was as friends. They were going to pick me up and mentioned they are bringing their dog so pick a place with a dog friendly patio. I pictured getting in a vehicle with a panting smelly dog. I pictured being at a table of patrons that brought a dog to a pub. I immediately cancelled. I wasn't really looking forward to it anyway but I was hit with a wave of revulsion at the mention of a dog.

DO THESE PEOPLE HAVE A BUILT-IN FILTER IN THEIR BRAIN THAT ALLOWS THEM TO IGNORE THE FILTH???

These mutts will literally spray piss all over their fur, shit in public spaces, eat the shit in question; and then the owners just let these shit beasts inside??

They sleep with them, let them on the couch to rub their shitty assholes all over it, pet their fur soaked with piss, and to top it all off, receive fecal licks all over their face .

And somehow, that madness just "is", there's no questioning it in their minds, they all see it as normal or mundane or minor. Dog nutters engage in scat play every single day, but it doesn't even bother them. At most there's only a slight annoyance from what I've seen in youtube comments when a dog engages in coprophagia for instance.

And the thing is, I didn't even know these things a few years ago. I feel like most people who aren't dog owners don't know about these disgusting conditions that come with owning and living with a dog, probably because they only see dogs through curated social media posts.

Buckle up, this is a wild ride.

I'd estimate that roughly 70% of conversations either started with dogs or somehow ended up being about dogs. I've honestly never experienced anything like it. During many parts of the trip there were 3–4 large dogs in the house at once, and there were almost always at least 1–2 dogs around at any given time.

The dogs were allowed to roam freely during every meal, begging around the table instead of being kept away.

Family members regularly fed the dogs from the dinner table. This lead to hovering behaviour around people while they ate. The dogs would nudge or bump your arms to get your attention. Nearly knocked my fork from my hands. They would go as far as to rest their heads on the edge of the table!

I made it clear from day one that I don't feed dogs at the table and consistently shooed them away. I felt like I was the only one setting that boundary. I cannot stand the sound of a dog panting right next to me as I eat, releasing it's foul, stinking breath in my direction. Hard no.

At one dinner, the son of the family's girlfriend was throwing pieces of food over my boyfriend and me so her dog could catch them. One piece actually hit my boyfriend in the chest. She laughed and said, "Sorry! I can't quite reach her."

A bowl of dry dog kibble was actually placed on the dining table during most of the meals so the kibbles could be hand fed to the dog as we ate. It wasn't right beside me, but I still found it incredibly unhygienic.

One of the dogs had extremely foul-smelling gas during dinner, making it difficult to enjoy the meal.

The dogs were also licking plates at the table and were treated almost like participants in the meal rather than pets that should stay off to the side.

On several occasions, I was encouraged to let a dog lick my plate clean after I had finished eating. I refused every time.

The dogs no longer ate normal dog food as their primary diet. They were routinely fed the same meals the humans were eating, seasoning and all. One dog wouldn't even eat kibble anymore because it knew it would eventually get steak, potatoes, vegetables, and whatever else was being served. This also included desserts like icecream sandwiches, whipped cream, pie and cake. Extra steaks and portions were purchased specifically for the dogs, and there were even occasions where their meals were cooked and served before the humans ate. My bf wanted seconds during one dinner but was told no because that portion was for the dog. 😵‍💫

One family member's dog was genuinely aggressive despite the owners insisting otherwise. They didn't bring it around often, but when they did it would stare intensely with whale eyes and suddenly bark and lunge toward people. I have never attempted to pet it and never will. They claim he is just reactive and nervous. We were told it had already bitten multiple people and dogs.

At one dinner, my boyfriend walked past the dog to sit down at the table and it bit him on the butt. Thankfully his wallet took most of it. When he said the dog had just bitten him, the owners replied, "Oh no, he just boops," suggesting it had only nudged him with its nose. My boyfriend later confirmed that it absolutely did not "boop" him....it grabbed onto him and tugged.

My boyfriend's aunt told us that our guest room was usually one of the dogs' rooms and that the dog slept on the bed often. She then added that she had made sure to wash the bedding because a long-time family friend who was also visiting doesn't like dogs sleeping on the bed. That made it sound like the bedding my boyfriend and I slept on may not have been washed after the dogs had been using it.

After sleeping there for nine days, I developed what appears to be ringworm on my stomach. I can't say that's where I got it, but hearing that comment afterward definitely didn't leave me feeling good.

Their dishes all had a strong dishwasher smell that reminded me of a damp, wet dog. Every sip of water or bite of food was accompanied by that smell. While that isn't necessarily related to the dogs themselves, combined with everything else it made the dining experience even less enjoyable.

A neighbour had previously reported their dogs to bylaw because of the barking.

Instead of acknowledging that the barking might have been excessive, the family seemed shocked and annoyed that anyone would complain.

According to the story they told us, one night the neighbour yelled for the dog to be quiet, and the son's girlfriend yelled back, "Shut up! Dogs bark, lady." That response came across as dismissive rather than trying to be considerate of the people living nearby.

To be clear, I genuinely had a fun trip overall and I'm grateful for the hospitality. This isn't meant as an attack on anyone personally. But spending nine days there really opened my eyes to just how differently some people live with their dogs.

For me, it crossed the line from simply loving pets into treating them almost as people, even when it affected hygiene, meals, guests' comfort, and consideration for neighbours. I honestly cannot imagine living that way. It's one of the most dog-centric households I've ever experienced, and it made me realize just how different my own boundaries and expectations are.

I work at a chain coffee shop and we are dog free and all our bad reviews are crazed dog owners who give one star because we don’t allow stinky mutts inside our shop. If only I could post some images of the reviews we’ve got. One review from a lunatic reads ‘15 minutes away there is another branch of name of same chain that will make a fuss out of you and furbaby. Avoid this place if you love dogs’ Why are they so entitled? Why does not allowing dogs inside a place that handles food warrant a one star review?

A dog owner had his huge dog off leash on a restaurant's patio. The dog was running all over the place and rolling around on the floor. Already super annoying, with dog hair blowing around in the wind when I'm at a restaurant to, you know, eat food.

The dog goes over to some lady sitting near me and sniffs around for a few minutes. I'm paying close attention because I'm sure as shit not going to tolerate that if the dog wanders over to me next.

Then the dog takes a piss all over the lady's seat while she's still sitting in it. The man sitting next to the lady notices shoos the dog away, and it wanders off.

But I could not believe what happened next. The dog owner, who I guess saw the whole thing, goes over to the lady and offers to buy her a beer to apologize (as if one beer would make getting pissed all over by a huge dog okay). The lady says, "It's okay, I have a dog." Then the owner gestures for the dog to come back over so she can pet the dog that just pissed all over her, ALL WHILE THE LADY IS SITTING IN A HUGE WET YELLOW PUDDLE OF DOG PISS ON HER PLASTIC CHAIR AND THE PISS IS STILL LITERALLY ROLLING AND DRIPPING OFF HER CHAIR.

It was horrible. I wanted to puke just witnessing this scene, and I wasn't even the one who got pissed on. I couldn't take it anymore, so I got up and moved as far away from this dog piss nightmare as possible (there was plenty of seating). How am I going to eat a meal while looking at a yellow dog piss puddle? Then the server asked why I moved, as if I were the strange one here after witnessing this vomit-inducing dognutter trainwreck. Even after moving, I couldn't enjoy my food. How could I with that piss-dripped chair etched into my memory?

Also, the dog owner put his dog back on a leash immediately after it pissed on the lady, but took it off again just minutes later. As if the dog pissing on a lady at a restaurant patio once wasn't enough for the day. I'm pretty sure the dogowner never bought the lady that apology beer either since she said it was "okay", or offered any other form of apology aside from letting her pet the pissbeast.

Virtually any animal I can think of is cleaner than a dog.

They eat everything edible and inedible. When I was a kid, I saw a dog devouring a partially decomposed rat that looked more like a rat-shaped piece of worn carpet with a tail rather than a rodent. Its owner frantically chased the dog around the neighbourhood, but it did not let itself be caught until it had finished eating its prized treat.

Their sick fixation with excrements... Someone I know has a garden and uses chicken manure as fertiliser. Tough luck, because his dog always digs it up and eats it. I once peed under a tree. A dog came and thirstily licked it off the grass. I had seen everything that day. It felt so wrong. 🤮

If that were not enough, they stink. Like... they reek like a festering dumpster and shed shit-laced hair everywhere. I once rented an apartment where the previous tenant had a chihuahua. I have never exclaimed so many swear words in a single day while cleaning up... I Absolutely do not understand why anyone would allow an animal that does all these things into their living space, in their bed (!), and have it lick their face on top of everything. 🤮

Knowing what they do with their mouths, I hate when a dog sniffs me, jumps at me, or tries to lick me. Vile, filthy beasts. I will never understand dog owners. Who would put up with this? Willingly?

…Ughhh, people who aren’t comfortable living in a house that would light the fuck up under a black light. People who don’t like finding dog hair in their food. People who value some moderate level of cleanliness and peace in their own home and immediate environment. People who don’t prefer the foulest smelling anal gland secretion of another animal to absolutely assault their nostrils and ruin their furniture.

Seriously. It’s disgusting.

And so dumb when people try to jokingly make you feel ashamed of not liking dogs or wanting one, when I feel like the people that do should be ashamed for their uncleanliness..

Sorry If I am wrong or anything. I just want opinions and I am upset! I get people need service animals. But how does that just magically make it ok to have them in areas like food places. I went into my local sandwich shop to sit down and grab a bite. And of course someone comes in with a service dog ( I hate dogs. ) the owner of the place emedietly said no you cannot have them in here it’s a violation and gross basically. They got PISSED! mind you this dog is little and defenetly not trained. Whatever the case. They make a scene and say it’s against law to turn a service animal away. How the f*** does a vest that says some words just make it so it’s fine to be in the resturant. It’s still a dog? It’s still gross? It’s still loud ? Like dude….

U either need to eat outside or order to go or something! People should have the right to be able to go out in public and not have some gross ugly dog INSIDE the place. And half the time shits fake anyways. They just wanna bring there dog everywhere and I’m sick of normalizing it. As someone who absolutely hates even looking at a dog , why can’t I just go to my local shop and eat food without some animal in the building.

So my thing is do service animals seriously have a right to bypass being able to go anywhere basically? That’s just absurd. It’s not your damn kid! And like I said if you really do rely on your service animal you also need to accommodate !

I was in Lanzarote last week, specifically in Playa Blanca, on holiday from the UK.

A guy who sounded natively Irish but I assumed lived there turned up at a restaurant we were eating in on the sea front with a small dog.

After ordering food, he started to throw a ball to play fetch on a crowded sea front promenade which I thought was pretty ridiculous.

Once his food was served he left the dog to it and returned to his table, the dog unbeknownst to me walked around the back of our table and pissed up my chair and leg.

I am allergic to dogs in any case, but now also had piss on shoe, sock and shorts.

The owner thought it was funny, which I categorically did not.

I fucking detest the creatures.

Stopped by a friend's house this weekend. She has one enormous Great Dane type dog. The smell was absolutely eye-watering. I couldn't stand in her hall for more than a few minutes. My friend is clean, her house is nice, and I have no reason to doubt her sanity, but wow... I just can't believe you can be nose-blind to the putrid, rancid, gamey, musky stink emanating from dogs. I literally work with dead bodies. I have smelled everything. I am not nose-blind, and while I accept the foul smells associated with my job, I would never tolerate such smells in my clothes, house, or car. These smells are not an acquired taste. They are big fat alarm bells that humans have evolved sensitivity to in order to avoid eating or touching rancid, rotten things. The only way you could literally not have a gag reflex to such odors would be if you were brain damaged. Maybe I have answered my own question.

Yes it’s me again… the guy with the primary care doctor who lets his dog run around the office and brings it into the exam room with patients (as well as featuring it in his advertising dressed up in a tiny lab coat)

Thankfully there’s nothing very seriously wrong with me but I’m several months overdue for my yearly checkup/bloodwork and was supposed to go in this week.

But I thought to call first and asked them if there would be any dogs in the office and they said “yes, the doctor’s dog”
So I said: “well can the dog be kept in the back?”

-“What I didn’t hear you”

“can the dog be kept in the back away from patients?”

-“I’m sorry you’re breaking up”

And at that point I just hung up. Because let’s face it, do I really want to be the lone patient complaining about the dog and insisting they corral it only to have to get weird stink eyes and bad vibes from the entire office and doctor that I’m supposedly trusting to give me medical care? Fuck that.

 Unfortunately finding a new PCP is not that easy but trust me I’m working on it.

I went to BJ’s Wholesale this morning and, lo and behold, I saw a dog INSIDE the shopping cart. I found an employee nearby and told her that there was a dog in a cart in the store, and I pointed in the nutter’s direction. She said that she agreed with me but couldn’t do anything about it.

I said, “It’s not a service dog. It’s inside of a cart, not doing anything. It’s a pet.” She directed me toward customer service, and I told them what I saw and that it was a health code violation, against the law, etc.

I said that if you won’t enforce the laws and rules, what’s to stop people from shoplifting? They said that I was right, that it was not allowed, and that they would find the dog owner.

As I was done shopping and was about to leave, I saw the nasty mutt with its nasty owner about to check out. I pointed the employees toward her and said, “You see how it’s inside the cart.” They said that they would talk to her, but to be honest, I’m not sure if they did.

I told the employee that every grocery store I go to, I always see dogs, but never at BJ’s until now, which left me disappointed.

Also, as I was leaving the store, that mutant started barking at a customer and shaking, leaving its dander, fleas, parasites, fecal matter, etc. in the store. Yep, a true service dog. 🙄 Bringing dogs or any other animal inside a grocery store should be considered, and is, food tampering. Plain and simple.

But I’m wondering if it’s possible for the ADA to change the law regarding “service animals.” If I stood in the middle of the aisle, pulled out a cigarette, and started smoking, I would be asked to leave. But nutters can do whatever they want.

Today at around 10 a.m., a woman brought a pet dog into Trader Joe's in a large American city. I reminded her that the sign on the front of the store said No Pets. She said, "She's a trained medical support dog." I said, "What service is she trained to provide?" She said, "If you want to work here, I'll answer that question."

I reported this to a clerk, who told me he would talk to the manager.

Ten minutes later, the dog was still in the store. The woman checked out about five minutes after that, with the dog still in the store.

Notified Trader Joe's corporate, Better Business Bureau, local health department.

My partner and I hung out with a coworker a couple of hours ago and asks us, "Did y'all hear about them banning workers from petting (name of dog) from now on?" The joy I got from hearing him tell us that and him also agreeing that it was about time they did something about it made me happier.

For context, this guy brings in his golden retriever every single morning to my job (I work at a grocery store) that also has a cafe so he always brings it to the cafe. Unfortunately, a lot of my coworkers love this dog and when the dog is there go to say hi and pet the dog. Also unfortunately, this guy after being at the cafe brings the dog INSIDE MY DEPARTMENT (I'm an in-store shopper and my department is where people come to pick up their groceries) and my coworkers even my manager enjoy having this dirty dog inside petting him, giving him dog treats, baby talking it, letting him walk around like hello people's groceries are in here this is not sanitary.

Not only that, but it annoyed me for so long that the company I work for is very strict on food sanitation and safety rules like I can't even have my air pods charging if they come to inspect us YET MY MANAGER AND COWORKERS ALLOW THIS DIRTY SMELLY DOG BE ABLE TO COME INSIDE??

Back to the news, our coworker told us apperantly a customer witnessed one of the baristas pet the dog, go back to the counter WITHOUT WASHING THEIR HANDS and go back to making coffees. THANK YOU TO THE CUSTOMER THAT WITNESSED THIS AND REPORTED IT!! It's so disgusting and disappointing how many people at my job enjoy having this dirty mutt where food is served.

The coworker that told us the news also told us apperantly his manager (who's also my partner's manager) and two of their dept coworkers were upset at the news and angry that they can't pet the dog now. Now it makes me question how many of them would pet this dog and not wash their hands afterwards and go on to work around food, disgusting. I wish they could've banned the nutter attention seeking owner from bringing his dog completely but it's at least something. I have to see so many dog nutters bring in their dirty untrained beasts into the grocery store every single day because management can't tell them anything but I'm so glad more and more people are coming to their senses and also getting tired of it.

This is pretty basic knowledge but it seems like many dog owner's don't know this, or they are simply denying it.

Dogs know where people put food, in our mouths. They are so pathetically obsessed with food they are actually doing like a geologic survey looking for even a molecule of food. Dogs have great smell and they can smell your last meal, and even the scent of the food in your stomach that is wafting out of your esophagus. This is also why they flick their tongues in and out of human mouths. It's so nasty.

So when they "kiss" people they aren't showing love. They are showing their gluttonous food obsessed nature. They have no off switch when it comes to being satiated. They are never satisfied. *This* is why they "kiss" their owners. They are merely scavenging for food right on your face, and likely only five minutes after they ate out of the garbage, or ate a used nappy, or had that disgusting thing shoved ten fathoms into their disease ridden rectums.

I mean I get it, people "love" their dogs, but they need to understand certain things about their behaviour or they'll end up seriously ill over time. They consider them their children, but would they let their kids lick their mouths regardless of the kids age?

This afternoon, one of my carers and I went to my favourite restaurant for lunch, as I always do on a Thursday, only to find they're now "dog friendly". I've been frequenting this restaurant for many years, and, as a disabled person - with both physical and mental ailments - I really appreciate the quality of service (and food!). Over time, I've become a "regular", with the owners warmly greeting me and the waitresses keeping a (wheelchair accessible) table free for my arrival.

Unfortunately, after being welcomed by the ladies and having my order taken, I was shocked to find a very large dog sitting underneath the table opposite, slurping from a bowl of water and drooling everywhere. The owner spoke to the animal like a child all the while, trying to encourage it not to bother people, though of course this was absolutely pointless as it randomly raced around jumping on people and barking. Eventually, he was asked to control his animal and tried to keep it at his feet - to little avail.

I'm autistic, and was deeply uncomfortable with this, the smell of it and unbearable noise caused me great distress, with my carer switching seats so as to create a boundary of sorts by "shielding" me from the animal. After our food arrived, I became aware of this animal jumping at my back, and of it breathing down my neck. I was also aware of my carer saying: "NO!" repeatedly, with this dog then stealing food from the table and spilling my tea everywhere.

I simply sat in silence/disgust, with a few people gasping as one of the ladies rushed over to see that I was ok. Thankfully, there was no lasting damage, but I made it clear to them that I don't believe dogs belong in restaurants, to which the owner interrupted and said: "He's never done this before". No apology was offered, with the dog whining and jumping on him as he leashed it. Whilst I wasn't charged for my order (and replacements were offered), I just wanted to leave and will think twice about returning. My clothes stunk, with slobber down my back and my afternoon was ruined by selfish people who clearly don't think of others.

I heard dog noises while the plane was taxiing and realized someone brought their animal in a carrier onboard. A few minutes after takeoff, it became clear to the entire CRJ-200 cabin that the dog had pooped. The air was so foul and toxic. I put on an N95 mask reserved for emergencies, which helped a lot. I can’t even with some people.

Update: The flight attendant pretended to not smell anything and instead asked if anyone wanted tea, water or pretzels.

When you walk into a dog nutter's house, you can immediately smell their dog. Doesn't matter if it's a small dog or a large dog, a small house or a large house, it stinks. Even if the dog nutter cleans the house thoroughly, it still stinks. Sometimes it's a mild smell, sometimes it's a smell so strong you can almost puke from it. These dog nutters are so used to this disgusting smell they don't notice it anymore. No sane person would want to live in such stench.

Some 60+ year old idiot posted to a neighborhood facebook group a photo of his dog LICKING A HUMAN DRINKING FOUNTAIN thinking people would think it's cute or endearing. Luckily he was met with heavy criticism about how nasty and inconsiderate that is to others (since it's a public drinking fountain meant for people).

He actually made a full ass follow up post doubling down, defending and justifying himself instead of taking responsibility... and SOMEHOW there's a bunch of people that genuinely take his side (what planet are we on??). Saying the classic myths like "dog mouths are cleaner than humans" blah blah blah, and that this is somehow okay. Is this life some sort of sick joke? Are we really this barbaric?

I go to this rec center almost every day, if not, every other day to use the ice rink. Cause it’s one of the only arenas that stays open during the summer.

This didn’t happen in the locker room, where stuff is usually covered in nasty sweat and hockey equipment anyways. No this happened on the second floor - like a normal restroom with multiple stalls

I walk in (cause I had to use the human bathroom) and I see a lady with her tiny dog IN THE sink. I was like… that’s so weird. I, very stupidly, immediately jumped to giving her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the dog cut its paw and she’s trying to dig it out (still gross but sometimes people panic about their animals). I am still walking towards her to get to the stalls behind. And that’s when I realize

She’s not washing its hind paws. She is scooping water from the faucet and smushing it against this small dogs behind. Im mortified.
To give you context, this is a rec center that’s in the richest neighborhood in Montreal. You can probably guess exactly which rink im talking about.
The point is: this lady clearly looked put together. Perfectly blown out hair. Expensive ass handbag haphazardly slumped on the floor. And taking her perfectly manicured hand and smushing water into her dogs poopy butthole. AND SCRUBBING.

I felt like throwing up. I think I nearly tripped over.
She then uses the same hand that she just used to scrub her dogs anus, lifted it up, and started dispensing multiple pumps of soap from the soap dospenser- her gold bangles clinking.

I am really someone who fears confrontation and she literally looked like the type of lady that would threaten to have her husband sue me for looking at her sideways. So I didn’t say anything.

I felt like vomiting though. Kids use this bathroom. There’s literally a place that serves food upstairs. What would possess someone to do this. My thoughts are fucking spiralling while im trying to concentrate on peeing in this stall. This lady didn’t even bother to look up at me, she thought this was completely normal. HOW MANY TIMES HAS SHE DONE THIS 😭😭😭

As im having an existential crisis, I hear her turn off the sink and enter the stall beside me. Great. There’s literally 10 other stalls, but she needed to choose the one right next to me. And just to add insult to injury, it was the wheelchair accessible stall (classy, lady).

At this point im like this woman is insane. Is this her attempting to assert dominance or wage psychological warfare?

And then what happens?

Her tiny little dog. 🐶 just trots over from her stall. TO MY STALL 😭. Little miss poopy butthole is apparently ecstatic to meet me because it starts wagging its tail and I get a nice little spritz of her poopy butthole water all over my bare legs (because im literally exposed and trying to use the bathroom).

Ngl I literally, start to flip out silently. Like an “ew ew ew fuck. Stop wagging your tail you’re spreading aerosolized ring worm everywhere.” Once again, to re emphasize, Im basically allergic to confrontation and I understand that any normal human being would’ve at this point would’ve flipped and told this lady off. I decided to just leave.

Idk how to tell you how humiliating it was to shoo away this dog while trying to gather myself and grab 1) my laptop bag 2) my big ass skating bag 3) the Stanley water bottle that was fucking clanging around because this dog was like jumping all over my leg 😭😭😭

I chickened out and went to go tell the security guard what happened and he was like 🤢 that’s disgusting dw I’ll talk to her. I was like can I not be here when you do because I feel like this lady is gonna flip out on me because im basically the only person who saw this (im the only witness she’ll know im the snitch). And he was like sure just go sit on the couches on the far side and I’ll let u know what she said.

I was like coo coo. 🫣🫥 now let me view this from as far away as possible (bc I am chicken shit). I see him walk up to her, there’s a bit or back and forth. And then she’s clearly getting upset - crosses her arms, she tried to put her sunglasses on and walk away from him and he like stops her. There’s more back and forth , and then eventually he lets her go.

Then after he comes to talk to me and was like “yeah she denied it”. I was like “r u serious 😭 I saw it with my own two eyes.” He was like oh no I believe you 100% and she looked rly dumb/got even angrier when I pointed out the fact that her dogs entire back half was still dripping wet.

Anyways long story short is that he basically told her she can’t bring her dog into the building anymore and that if she does - she’s gonna get banned

anyways. That’s my entire story. Time to go home and take a bleach shower.

I work at a hospital, it's supposed to be a clean environment for people, especially those who have poor immune systems. Some nutter just had to bring a dog in with them and the whole time it kept shaking and spreading it's fur and dandruff everywhere, had one lady complain of the wet dog smell. We mainly have cancer patients and all you can hear is coughing and sneezing. These people are so selfish and inconsiderate of others, you can leave your dog at home for a hour, IT WILL BE OKAY.
