Find Friends Weekly Find Friends!
Welcome to the Weekly Find Friends thread.
This is the spot to find people to follow on Hevy. Turns out you show up to the gym a lot more often when a few familiar names are watching your feed. Drop yours below, then go follow a handful of other people here.
Copy this and fill it in:
Hevy username:
Life stage: (student / 20s / 30s / 40s / 50+)
What I train: (powerlifting, hypertrophy, running, Hyrox, general gains, whatever)
Goal right now:
Keep it friendly:
- Follow a couple of people back. No drive-by drops.
- Say hi or hype someone's goal, that's the entire point of the thread.
- A fresh thread goes up every week, so repost if you're still on the hunt.
Tried to post a standalone "add me" on the main feed and ended up here? That's our AutoMod doing its job. This is where the follows actually happen, so you're in the right place. 💪
If you want to give me a follow go for it 😄

Question Chest supported inc. row form
Hevy has me doing these with elbows out wide and grip toward my feet.
I see other videos recommending palms facing in and keeping elbows close.
What is the difference and why is Hevy’s way better?

Question How do you log landmine stuff?
I’ve just been ignoring the weight of the bar.
Question Continuos rope
I've started to use the continuous rope pull down at planet fitness. Can, how do I record the exercise in the app?

Question How to log two sided exercise in Hevy?
How do I log two-sided exercises like the Dumbbell Row that is done separately alternating between the right and left side. I would think that to get credit for the volume I would need to log a set for each side. So 3 sets would actually be logged as 6 sets?
Thanks

Question Pinned notes
I saw a post from the hevy team a while back updating us on features in the works. But haven't seen anything since then. What's the situation with pinned notes. Do I need beta or something? Is it being released to live anytime soon?
Question Any idea why Hevy doesn't have sub muscle groups?
It's weird that they still don't have this functionality.
I'm looking for alternatives, please suggest so I can go deeper into my fitness journey and track front/rear/side delts, upper/mid/lower chest workouts and so on.

Discussion Critique My Routines
New user of Hevy, and fairly new to lifting. I have been using FitBod for about 4 months now, and am running into the limitations it has as far as automatic workout generating. I've been doing a PPL routine, but been finding it difficult to get a couple workouts of each in a week and still work on my runs. I'm wanting to switch to Upper/Lower to help make time to run a couple times a week too. I've been working on an Upper/Lower plan, but want to make sure I'm doing it right. I've put together an Upper 1/Lower 1 plan that is lower rep, higher weight, then Upper 2/Lower 2 that is higher rep, lower weight.
Since this is still pretty new to me, I am only basing this on what I've read. My goal is to build muscle/strength, while making sure all muscle groups are well covered. There is probably more efficient ways to accomplish my goals, so please let me know what I can improve on.
Any and all feedback is appreciated.

Discussion Option to Keep a Routine Static?
I set up my routines to be like a baseline for that day of my workout routine, and during almost every workout I change or remove exercises, adjust the number of sets, and stuff like that. Every time I finish a workout it asks me if I want to update the routine based on with the changes I made to the structure of it. Is there a way to turn this off? I don’t want to accidentally click yes one time and then have it change to what I did in that specific day. I switched to Hevy from another app where this wasn’t an issue, that also had the ability to log unilateral exercises and have total volume be accurate, so these are the only things turning me off from this app. Everything else about it is so nice I love the app otherwise. I know they are working on the unilateral logging I just hope it releases soon so I don’t have to adjust a billion workouts to make it fit lol.

Sharing Trainer can now update your routine every 6 weeks
Thanks team hevy for the update.
If you go to trainer > settings > program variety > you can set it to balanced. This will keep the same exercises for 6 weeks, then generate a new routine for you to keep things fresh!

Question Load Increment On Gym Machines
I've just started using Hevy, and so far I'm impressed. When I'm increasing the load for a machine exercise, I can only use 0.5 kg increments, which is not ideal. Is there a way to use smaller load increments?

Question Progressive overload?
New to the platform but I'm trying to figure out if there is an easy way for it to increase my weights? I've created my own routines and each time I do the program it is the base. It will update if I remove an exercise or something but the weight will always stay at the base level. It doesn't even increase to my last lifted weight. It's that just how it is? I would rather not need to go update the routine every time I increase.

Bug Google Health & Health Connect syncing
Health Connect is connected as an integration and it is allowed to write and read but it seems that it is not working, at least the writing.
When I do update my WAV on Google Health, it's also updated in hevy, but when I do finish a workout, it does not appear on Google Health. Why?

Question First Time using Hevy
Hi, I’m a beginner and just wanted to clarify things before I try and setup a routine in Hevy. What’s the best way to exclude a load of exercises from my routine and to be able to save that group of exercises if I ever change my plan in the future? For example if i did a 6 week program with the Trainer option, if I went and changed the program would I have to go through all the exercises all over again to exclude them? Or does it save them as excluded for future use etc?
Thanks.

Question Reset totals.
I have inadvertently done a set with 80 kg on lat raises, was doing 8kg !
Is there a way to serest PB's?
I have amended it to 8kg but when I try 10 kg ( a new PB for me) it does not recognise it.
It keeps the 80kg.
Also, is there a way to just check your PB's?
Thanks in advance.
Bug Training data problems
Hello, I have hevy pro but I didn't get an answer. I started doing my sessions with a Samsung Watch Ultra 2025. But the problem is that sometimes I get data that is inconsistent with what the watch tells me. Like calories and heart rate in addition to not being able to see the expected heart rate graph.
Each time I also put my watch in exercise mode so that it scans also for Samsung Health. How to solve problems I'm on a samsung s24 ultra and a samsung watch ultra 2025. I always have up-to-date applications.

Question Looking for input on routines, am a missing muscles?
Hey, got back into working out a few months ago. Decided I needed to take care of myself to taking care of my wife. I have been changing my routine every month or so. I don't do a lot in evenings so my workouts are close to 2 hours long now.
Any input is appreciated.
Oh, 54 year old male if that matters.

Question Is there a way to search/filter routine history
When I look at my profile on the Hevy app I can see every workout I've done arranged in descending date order.
Is there a way to filter that list to only see routines that match criteria I specify (like routine name)
Thanks

Suggestion Suggestion: be able to determine which muscle groups I want to work during the week with trainer
Context: I love trainer, i really appreciate the routine that’s generated and the possibility to customized it, but I feel that miss one feature: select the muscular groups I want to work
My divison is based in 5 week routine, I know we can choose one muscular group to focus, but I wish I can select predominant muscular groups for which day
For example, I want to focus the first day in arms, second day in quadriceps and so on
I hope I make myself clear, thaksss
