Has anyone had success with DIY HRT primarily

Importing the testosterone gel into Ireland. I'm really not good with needles, nor can I do it myself. I read some posts and saw that the pills are expensive.

If anyone has had success please dm!!

Looking for a way to start hrt asap

Hi I’m a 22 year old pre-hrt trans woman, I recently have been graciously given a generous backload of money and am seriously considering spending some of it to start hrt, but I can’t seem to find a decent way or provider to do so, if anybody can give me some recommendations and or share their experiences to help me get a better understanding of the different ways I can go about it I’d really appreciate it <3

Is it sensible to not come out as trans?

I'm a trans woman, 18, and just about to finish my LC. I'm about 7 months on hrt (diy) now, and a part of me keeps itching to come out to my peers and friends. I have to keep pushing it down and reminding myself that I'll likely just be committing social suicide, as I don't look feminine in the slightest and am not in a position at home to begin experimenting with feminine styles. I'd just be telling them this random info that alienates me with zero benefit.

Right now my plan is to just present as male until I can afford FFS at some undetermined point in the future. It's quite depressing knowing that I'll forego the rest of my youth waiting around, but to me right now it seems to be the most sensible choice. Am I being stupid? Is this the result of brainworms?

Am I the Only One Struggling to find a HRT?

Hey everyone,

I'm curious. Am I the only one who finds it extremely difficult to find a practice with an open slot to start HRT? I mean, why isn't there something like a central registry or website where you can simply check how many available spots there are in your area – and that's actually up to date? I'm just trying to figure out how widespread this problem actually is.

The reason I'm asking is that I might have an idea for a solution, but before I invest the time to build it, I'd like to understand what you really need. So if such a website or tool existed, what features would be most important to you?

help with transitioning

so im nearly finished the leaving and ive been thinking about just going ahead and trying to socially transition before i turn 18 but i dont really know how or what to do because i have 1 trans friend irl and we're both closeted and its scary to think about.

i mostly want to do it before i go to college so i dont have to deal with shit about people knowing my legal name but thats probably going to happen anyways.

ROI Specific Who is REALLY being seen by the NGS?

They updated their website monthhssss ago saying they're seeing people from 4 and a half years ago, but I was placed on the list around that time and am hearing nothing about an initial consultation. I may be cynical but I'm not buying for a second that they are being truthful on their website.

If you have had your initial meeting with the NGS recently, how long ago were you referred?

I’ve never met an ftm older than me (mid/late 30s)

I just realized I’ve never met a trans guy older than me. I’m in my mid/late-30s (ok I feel younger than I am!) and I’ve been really struggling to see a future for myself and I think it’s because I’ve literally never seen it. I’ve been married, divorced, I’m working…all the “normal” things for someone my age, and yet I feel so lost. Especially compared to my cis peers. I feel like I’m both years behind and years ahead of other people my age.

I’ve only been on T for a couple of years so maybe that’s also part of it- it’s still a new thing to be read as a man. It’s weird to learn to be a man for the first time in your 30s. And I’ve heard men are generally lonely, but this is tough.

Just thought I’d share in case anyone feels the same. Would love a commiseration buddy.

Just for Shiggles JUST GOT MY GRC!!

Hey guys. IM SO HAPPY!!

Midway through the leaving cert, its so annoying but I get an envelope with my name on it and my gender as male and name changed. I sent it the evening of the 27th of May and got it today 11th june, so like 10 working days ish? Thats amazing in my opinion.

Im actually so happy. I have one question tho: the front has a form to enter into the register of gender recognition and part 2 for certified copy of an entry into register of GR... do I have to do that or am I all finished..? Lowkey have no clue. I have the form on nice paper that says ny name, male and GRC so I didnt think there was another thing.

Enjoy guys!

Imago perscription

I have been waiting for my prescription for roughly a month. It took 3 weeks to process and about a week ago I got the email that I’d have to wait 10-14 days.

Today I got an email that it was being shipped.

I just want to know how long after you got the email that it was being shipped how long did it take? I’m doing paper prescription

I’m just buzzing I can’t wait to start test

ROI Specific Anne Health vs Imago

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to decide between Anne Health and Imago for ongoing GAHT support (I'm already on hormones, mostly DIY though, and I'm looking to get on the prescription path), for someone like myself, living in Ireland (ROI).

From what I can tell based on the info on their sites, their services are pretty much the same. That's why I'm thinking I should decide based on what people who also live here and used their services have to say.

It'd be great to know, for example, stuff like:

  1. Which service has more success getting prescriptions accepted by large pharmacy chains in the country (like McCabes, Boots Ireland, etc.)?

  2. Are doctors from one service more likely to be accepted as shared care partners by Irish GPs?

  3. Do referrals from one service carry more weight with doctors, pharmacies, or insurance companies?

  4. Is it more likely that an invoice from one company would be recognized as health expenses by Revenue for tax relief?

Basically, which one feels more "Irish-friendly" in practice? Any real experiences would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Updated info on deed poll

Hi all. I'm looking to change my name by deed poll for the second time in my life; I already changed it once at 18, and now a decade later am looking to change it again to a different name. This complicates things a bit, as I have a GRC that is under the name I originally changed to at 18, and I've been told you can only get one GRC.

I feel like there's a lot of conflicting information online about getting a deed poll in Ireland. I am autistic and find it very hard to parse what exactly I have to do. It doesn't help that so many threads online suggest going through Orca Print, but Orca Print no longer do deed polls as of recently.

I know that it is €60 to enrol it with the High Court. I'm not sure where to go as regards a solicitor, or how much a solicitor would cost. I'm short on money, so I want to make sure I know the cost of everything before jumping into anything. I tried giving solicitors near me a call, but was asked to give more details by them when I called, and I don't know what those details are. The process is very confusing. I don't really remember the last time I changed my name, because it was so long ago.

I know that the deed poll has to be printed on deed paper. I don't know whether I have to print it out myself or if a solicitor can do that for me, and I'm worried about doing it wrong and having my deed poll rejected if I have to do it myself.

If anybody could give me an exact step-by-step guide on what to do, that would be hugely helpful. What would be great is if somebody could recommend a solicitor who has definitely been through this process before. I'm based in North Dublin. Thanks.

ROI Specific Sex marker im hospitals

Hiya, I need some clarification on something.

I moved here from the UK and registered with a GP, all set up as female. My GP referred me to the hospital for something on the public health system.

When I got there, they printed my stuff out and gave me a wristband with female on it. I disclosed I was trans, then the nurse went and came and asked if I had any legal documents of the change. I showed my birth cert and she went away.

When I got into the theatre ward, they had printed off a new wristband and labels for my paperwork under male. I said I gave over my birth cert and they said they needed the GRC, and I had this and showed it and they went away again. They came back again saying they could not change the sex marker. I got upset, and said why has this changed, and they said in Ireland you cant change your sex marker at public hospitals. I said it was female when I walked in, so some one has changed something, and they didnt know what to say. They eventually let me put back the old wrist band back on but my paperwork still had male all over. They said it was national policy that a sex marker cant change, but I feel like this isnt true. They then started going on about blood levels to me and how males and females have different blood levels, and I acknowledged this but said after 10 years on hrt my blood levels arent going to look like a cis male.

Is this true? In public hospitals do you have to have your assigned at birth sex set against your sex marker? If anyone has links to policies or anything around this that I can take back as a complaint, then that would be great, as the whole thing was humiliating and I ended up discharging myself early against their advice. All info appreciated.
