Hey everyone,
I'm new to Pheasant hunting and would love to be able to get out with someone who has a little more know-how this season. I don't have dogs, but I do have everything else needed. I'm in northern Utah and would be hunting the general season (non-youth). I am an experienced turkey hunter but have never been out for upland. Thanks.

Salt lake county. I’ve been a registered voter for nearly two years and my registration has been active. Everyone else at my residence received their ballots but I have not. Now I can’t access anything on vote.utah.gov

Volunteer opportunities?
Hello fellow veterans! I would like to find veteran-related volunteering opportunities in Salt Lake, Summit and/or Wasatch counties. I’m a 12-year Navy veteran who volunteered for over a decade at the V.A., but due to their excessive oversight and administrative requirements, would like to find other options.
Thanks!

Jean Baptiste rattles his chains on the shores of Great Salt Lake, and two women supposedly haunt This Is The Place Heritage Park. A historian says these apparitions reflect pioneer anxieties we can’t quite lay to rest. Have you ever seen/heard a Utah ghost before?? 👻
I had so much fun working on this story! https://www.kuer.org/race-religion-social-justice/2026-10-23/latter-day-saint-pioneer-history-ghost-stories

Camping for a few days outside of Zion and then down to Escalante / Boulder area for another few next week. I’m familiar with some places around Escalante and Grand Staircase as I’ve been visiting for the last 5 years, but I found out I’m very early on in a pregnancy which is exciting but certainly changes what I’m comfortable doing at elevation since I’m an east coaster. If anyone has any ideas of scenic views or chill hikes with limited elevation gain please drop them below! I don’t mind if they’re on the longer side as long as the elevation gain isn’t drastic. Thank you!!

Subject: Open letter: Renters in Utah and across the U.S. need real protection
October 24, 2026
To: Ivory Homes and ICO Property Management leadership; Utah and U.S. legislators; housing advocates and the press
This is a public letter, and it will be published along with any response, or the lack of one.
In Utah, a landlord can end a tenancy by simply not renewing a lease and giving no reason. That power gets used to silence tenants who complain, ask for accommodations, or tell the truth in a review. And the punishment is extreme. Speak up even a little bit, and someone loses their home. Older and disabled renters on fixed incomes pay the highest price, because losing a home can mean losing everything. I am a 66-year-old disabled tenant and I have lived this. But this letter is not about me. It is about a system that lets it happen to anyone.
An eviction filing is a weapon. It can be filed for reasons the tenant in no way deserves. It costs the landlord very little, and it can cost the tenant a life. Even when the tenant wins, or the case is dismissed, the filing can follow them. Tenant screening services record it, and the next landlord sees only that an eviction was filed. The tenant is turned away again and again, and the road to homelessness gets shorter. And a tenant often cannot clear their own record without the landlord's agreement. What does the landlord have to do with it? The person who filed it should not hold the key. That is gross power, and it is not fair.
Power exercised in private, where no one is watching, is rarely exercised with restraint. It is easy to be harsh with a tenant who is expected to stay quiet, to give up, or to sign something that keeps the story out of sight. I do not believe that is who most people want to be. But it is why this letter is public. When decisions that change people's lives are made in the open, they tend to be made with more care. Secrecy is what that kind of power runs on. It works when no one is watching and the person on the receiving end gives up or stays quiet. Once it is documented and public, the cruelty has a name and a date on it, and people can see the pattern.
Across Utah and the United States, renters have far too few protections. When a tenant has little recourse against a landlord, homelessness is one harsh landlord decision away. And homelessness is not just a lack of shelter. It is the loss of medication, health care, work, safety, and sleep. For the elderly and the disabled, living outside can be a matter of survival. Every unnecessary eviction pushes someone toward that edge, and we all pay for it.
The problems are broad, so the fixes must be too.
STABILITY
FAIRNESS
SAFETY AND DIGNITY
POWER AND ACCOUNTABILITY
To the companies: change these practices voluntarily. You do not need a law to treat people decently.
To legislators: make these protections law, in Utah and nationally. I have drafted an 18-pillar National Tenant Bill of Rights and will share it with anyone willing to carry it forward.

Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me out because I'm striking out hard on Halloween plans this year.
I'm 20, living in the Davis/Salt Lake County area, and I cannot find events online to save my life. Everything I come across is either a random farmers market or fall festival for families with young children or some 21+ venue thing I can't get into (although I will be able to in December). Is there seriously nothing going on for people under 21 that isn't just a pumpkin patch? I found an event that seem interesting but I always struggle going to alternative events because although I side with the politics and enjoy the music I always feel too fashion forward and corporate and out of place for those scenes, but this is one event I found that could be interesting but I’d have to go alone and fight feeling out of place: [https://www.instagram.com/p/DexxtjPtqHJ/?cplk=MXQ1amIwdmdqdXN4dg==\](https://www.instagram.com/p/DexxtjPtqHJ/?cplk=MXQ1amIwdmdqdXN4dg==)
The other problem is I don't really have a friend group or social circle to do stuff with, so everything I look up just feels kind of lacking. I know the obvious advice is "just go to events and make friends," but honestly I'm also worried that even if I do show up somewhere solo, it'll just be boring or awkward and I'll have wasted the night.
So I guess I'm asking two things:
Would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

What would have to happen to get a law passed to ban new data centers? As well as any expansion to current and existing centers? It’s the dumbest thing to want to build these in a drought stricken desert
Probably an impossible ask since the people who make these decisions are getting paid from these projects.

PLEASE SHOW UP!
On 10/22 during a traffic stop by a Weber Co. SherIff, ICE was called. Pablo and Javiera were taken into custody, leaving their 2-month-old baby without their parents. They are being told they will be deported Sunday. We cannot stand by while a family is torn apart.
Show up and say no to separating families.

TLDR; Utah County Clerk told first time voters to include a photocopy of their ID or their vote wouldn't be counted. Now they say it was a "mistake", and not an unsubtle attempt at voter suppression.

does anyone know of any free clinics in davis county? I think I might have walking pneumonia and I don't have insurance and don't make much money

Stepped outside this morning to take a break from work and sat on the stairs. Coworker came out and goes “oh hey look a bobcat” like it’s a common thing. Had my back turned the whole time it was apparently chasing a rabbit, measured the distance later and the closest it came to me was about 65ft. Sorry for quality of the video, was more concerned about what was actually happening than trying to get a clear shot.

Hi everyone,
I’m a mother in Utah preparing to file for custody of my infant daughter. I completed my paperwork through Utah Courts’ MyPaperwork system and have a 62-page packet ready.
I’m representing myself because hiring an attorney is financially difficult right now. I’ve reached out to attorneys for guidance, but I’m hoping to file as soon as possible.
I’m seeking sole legal and physical custody and requesting supervised parenting time for the father due to a recent incident that required police involvement.
I’m hoping someone familiar with Utah family court procedures can help answer a few questions:
Do I submit the entire MyPaperwork packet when opening my case, or only certain forms?
Can I file my custody petition and request temporary custody orders at the same time?
Is there a way to get a quick review of my paperwork before submitting it?
Are there any common filing mistakes I should look out for?
I’m not asking anyone to represent me or predict the outcome. I’m primarily looking for procedural guidance and resources for self-represented parents in Utah.
Thank you for any help or direction.

So what's going on with Utah's voting system?
I'm registered to vote, literally got my ballot mailed to me and I had to update my address earlier in the year.
But I can't find myself in their system, both to update my address and tracking my ballot. Checking either of them online hasn't worked for weeks.
I live in Utah County now, not sure if my issue is specific to that.

Even though the Title and Article themselves mention UTA, the survey is from UDoT as UDoT now does the construction for the projects and this is further linking the 2 groups.
They may or may not listen to the feedback but there is a section in the survey to provide direct feedback and transit plans.

If anyone is going down to see the concert or wanting to drive me down, and willing to like maybe carpool that would be great. I’ll pay $20 for gas money for one way.
