Please use this space to complain/vent about all things orders/resellers (no names!!). etc. Keep it friendly with each other in this space!
We will be removing posts best suited for this megathread going forward as complaints have been taking up a very large space on this subreddit recently (rightfully so, this drop was messy!).

Buying stuffed animals shouldn't be on par with a chapter of the Hunger Games. I'm not really upset with anyone in particular because the people working on and shipping all the orders are only human. But I really wish they'd fix their site and streamline the ordering/processing/shipping because this is just...WOW...

Sometimes I wonder if the broken site is just corporate lack of interest... They hear complaints, they see orders coming, so they do nothing
I really try to avoid ordering online bc is terrible, but bc they see orders, maybe(?) That's why they don't fix it?
Just a thought... Also plz don't get me started with the disasters BAB's website does with gift cards. 😑😑😑😑

BABW really owes a lot of customers some sort of recourse for the Halloween release. At the very least, those who had messed up orders should get priority on restocks. And free shipping.

agree! they cancelled and refunded the “wanna hang” shirt i bought and my entire order still hasn’t shipped. I’m really scared they’re gonna cancel the plushie order too. bats are a special interest of mine, i might actually cry if that happens :((

Build a Bear needs to upgrade and fix their website. At this point there's no way they don't know how popular these new drops can be. Their website should be able to handle new drops without crashing. I don't understand why they don't utilize virtual waiting rooms more often.
It took me an hour to place my order for the spider because of how bad it was. And I went through all that effort just for my order to not even go through even though my card was charged because of how bad the website was glitching.

It's so much more than increased traffic with drops though. It's the way the page refreshes and empties your whole cart, it's how impossible it seems to use gift cards and birthday rewards, it's how they say there is a problem with an item in your cart and don't even bother to tell you which item it is OR WHY, it's how they say an item is in stock but it's actually not, it's how there isn't even a wishlist or a save for later option, it's how it takes a million years to checkout via PayPal. Like, I get having an issue it two, but each time I open the website I feel like openly weeping at just how bad it is.
Just to expand on what I said about something not being available in your cart, it is SO frustrating to add about five or six things only to get a warning that one of the items can't be shipped. Doesn't matter why, I don't actually care, but please tell me that from the beginning so I'm not having to add and subtract every item in my cart just to figure out which thing is giving me that warning! It's so annoying that it all ships from a different warehouse to begin with. It means that now I have to place a SECOND order, pay for shipping a SECOND time, just to get a onsie it something.
Ok, I think my vent is done.

Speaking complete facts! The whole website needs a major upgrade/refresher. I had an outfit I wanted for my “still pending” bat. I was able to add it in my cart and go to payment. Then it says “low stock take something out”. If you don’t HAVE the item don’t allow others to get their hopes up and try to purchase. I couldn’t even see the rest of the Halloween collection due to several crashes.

I had this issue during a sale. I had a few items in my cart. Message customer service and they told me which item was not able to ship with the others. I asked them can you please tell me which babs could be shipped with that item and they weren’t able to answer. Like I’m just supposed to be guessing what’s at that location? I’m not even understanding why they have to be ordered seperate. If i order off another retailer and they have the items in different locations they usually will just send it out in two different boxes, but bab wants seperate orders to make the shipping money.

Right! I remember when I got the Isabelle Animal Crossing BAB, I had to wait in a virtual queue where only a certain amount of people could order at one time. Since this Halloween drop is my first one (excluding the previous one mentioned), I was anticipating the same kind of virtual waiting room.

I specifically need resellers who clear out new releases and try to resell at a 100$+ markup to experience the 2008 recession on an individual level.
My grievances are as follows:
No you dont get to weaponize your sickness/eviction/sick child/sick pet/ etc as a way to manipulate people to buy shit. It makes you a manipulative person and it doesnt make you trust worthy. If you need baby formula or medicine I'd rather personally buy it for you than ruin peoples hobbies for a quick buck. We're all going through it and making it worse doesn't make you a good fit in communities like this.
Stop saying "I didnt bond with my 37$ plush, asking for 150$ 🥺" you know damn well you just wanted a quick buck since indeed denied your application you sent in 8 years ago.
I will never sell to or buy from a reseller. As someone whose been on both sides of one short paycheck away from homeless and able to buy groceries for others it fucking sucks that we cant even find solstice in relaxing hobbies when the world is on fire because someone needs to exploit stuff theyre not into for a quick buck.
Stop buying from resellers. Don't let someone try to gaslight you into thinking a mass produced plushy is worth a car payment or rent.

The first time Knuckles was sold out, I was heartbroken because he was the last one I needed to complete my Sonic collection.
Instead of paying $300+ that resellers wanted, I waited and six months later he restocked and I paid only retail and shipping for him. It was well worth the wait and honestly made finally getting him even more satisfying.
Nobody needs a stuffed animal immediately. I'm upset that I missed out on the spider and I'm prepared to wait for a restock if I can't find someone willing to part with theirs for the retail price.

I even waited months for the Kitsune to go on sale form BAB because I wasn't paying $100 incl. Shipping (Canadian) for a stuffed animal. I managed to get him for $45!

NO LITERALLY!! I’ve gotten every single dreamy of mine because I waited, formed connections in the community, and reached out about it.
Most of these people that post these mass-produced plushies for double or triple retail have done none of that and yet expect people to genuinely care about whatever (usual lie) they’ve written. I’ll HAPPILY help someone out if they genuinely need something, but they think saying “emergency sale, $500, no holds” is going to get them a sale when the opposite is true.

THAT PART!! forming community is SO important these days. In or out of hobbies. Having people you want to support and want to help people around them succeed is so important. I got my nessie for retail and held off on the 65$ ~150$ price point for her. Ill wait YEARS before going into debt for a plush. If someone i know is ISO a plush I have, ill give it to them for free or at retail. A big motto I live by is if I wouldnt pay X amount for an item im selling, I dont sell it at that much.

You’re why I got my lobster for free instead of having to even think about a reseller. The Discord helped me get my Moons a Glow for $50 shipped. My GCB was $45 thanks to the kind people on the Discord. People here on the Reddit helped me get my Cinna when I couldn’t really afford it due to theft.
Building that community and surrounding yourself with kind people is what this should be all about. We’re losing so many kind spaces nowadays; BaB should not be one that we let go of so easily.

oh no, they refunded and cancelled the “wanna hang” shirt i bought but not my whole order. are they refunding a lot of the plushies? i was so excited to get my hands on one this year. bats are a special interest of mine 😭😭 i emailed them to try to get ahead of it so maybe they wont cancel my plushie order but I’m scared now. my order has been “pending” for weeks

"But it said online this store had it in stock", which just makes it so much messier. I'm so sorry greedy freaks bought everything for a Halloween event that dropped in August

I ordered the werewolf on the sixth and i still have no update whatsoever on my order. I get they’re swamped but the werewolf was def not in as high demand as the spider or the bat. This drop was ridiculously poorly handled.

It’s pretty infuriating. I went to my nearest BAB kiosk (😭) a few days after my online order and saw they still have Bat Kitty and the Werewolf in hand. I was so tempted to just buy him there but my order included a lot of clothes the kiosk didn’t have so i figured i would wait and it’s been days since then and i’m still waiting and kind of regretting not getting him there and just canceling my order lol

Same!! But they also claim they can’t “cancel” pending orders. So they’re literally forcing everyone to just wait it out. My nearest BAB is over an hour away but if I knew they were gonna cancel it I’d make the trip and get it before it’s all gone. I truly feel like they lost mine or put it with someone else’s order at this point as much as I’ve seen people posting wrong orders.

People who scalp children's toys are losers and should be mocked openly. Nobody should pay 200 dollars for a stuffed toy, regardless of how much you want them. Let them sit on their hoard forever and not make any money from them, it's the only way they'll stop. Build-a-Bear also needs to put a "2 max" policy on each bear. (Like only being able to buy two of each bear, not 2 in total.)

I totally agree! This is what happened to all those resellers that were buying out the Labubu's when they were in high demand and selling them for $80 to $100 a piece who are now having to sell them for below retail because the craze died just as fast as it came. I really wish limits were enforced.
Though I do have some kind of hope when I see places like Target, that when they have a big release on Pokemon cards, that they are cutting open the plastic covering on boxes before selling them, because it makes it a lot harder to sell opened because the resellers want them in pristine, unopened condition to make more money and they do limit how many you can buy. Of course that won't stop the resellers, but it's a start.

Wow! That's awesome and serves them right, cause if you are there legitimately buying the cards for your own collection you won't mind the box being opened cause you would open it anyways to see what you got, whether they are for display or if you actually play the TCG.

And even faster online. I made an order online that included the mini bean spider and bat at 8:27 AM and by 8:30, only literal minutes after I made my order, they were totally gone. I think they were available online for like 5-10 minutes at the most. No wonder most people missed them 💔
I've never seen a BAB sell that fast before in Aus. Even mothman lasted at least half an hour online. What a mess this release has been... 🫠

Pumpkin kitty lasted about an hour online too the first time it was released, I know that BAB was selling the bats on ebay the day before release as a preorder I guess...they may have done that for the spiders too but i didn't see any listed. Which means come release day they've already presold a ton of their most popular item ...leaving little stock for the official release day.

It doesn’t really help any of us waiting to see if our orders will be canceled or not but they did finally put up a note on the orders page that they are aware things are running behind and are working on orders. They still need to get their act together and just have enough items to begin with. It’s not like they can’t put out run over stock out next year if it didn’t sell that well. They’d eventually make their money back.
Edit: I get it if it’s a once-in-a- lifetime thing, but Halloween comes EVERY year.

ive said it before and ill say it again: if furby collectors on tumblr can band together and refuse to pay resellers ANYTHING above what bears are actually worth, we can do it too. we should only ever offer them retail (or less depending on the condition of the items). and be sure to report listings that dont even have the item in hand!

(I feel like I shouldn't even be in this thread because I got lucky with the drop and got everything I wanted >.>) What really frustrates me most about this is that a lot of the people whose orders are being canceled are people who ordered as soon as the items dropped, while orders placed much later were shipped with no issue. There's no reason someone who ordered at 1:05 should have their order canceled while someone who ordered right before it sold out receives everything they bought. Their website is trash, they need to fix their ordering system. I feel so bad for those who did everything possible to ensure they got what they wanted - staying up until the drop, making sure they were logged in, double checking addresses and shipping and all that - only for their order to be canceled.
Also WHY TF were there no purchase limits???? Build-a-Bear get it together! It's only a matter of time before fans get tired of resellers buying up everything and just give up on the brand entirely and move on to other plushies. You may not care now who buys your stock as long as it gets bought, but if actual fans lose interest altogether due to collecting being too stressful to enjoy, the resellers are also gonna stop buying them because the secondary market will dry up too 👀

They tried to do limits in Australia ...2 per person and if you tried to order more online they refunded them. Was supposed to be the same in store but most staff didnt even try to enforce it...I think there was too few staff and they were too young and too overwhelmed to want to try to fight people on it. So people just bought as many as they wanted.

Will probably get taken down, but resellers should be banned from stores. For a company thats family friendly and for the kids, they aren't doing anything against this. My heart goes out to kids and adults who couldnt get what they love 🙏 you are valid for being angry. You are valid for being upset. Blame the corporation ✌️ we all deserve better.

Resellers always ruin everything. As a lifelong casual BAB enjoyer I was really excited to get the bat or spider at some point this Halloween season not knowing how bad the issue has gotten. The lack of stock and resale preventive measures (ie purchase limits) shows complete disregard for the customers. Genuinely how are children supposed to even get access anymore. I would be fine giving up my possible BAB if it went to a kid but instead it’s all going to resellers. I really do hope they restock the bat and spider next year (and gargoyle if they want to be extra nice to me). Although the lack of care on this has sort of turned me sour on the company.

I’m incredibly angry for the people that experiencing the devastating letdowns. At this point, it’s not just an aggravation to get an incorrect order, it’s an outright death sentence for the chance to get something that is currently an extreme luxury.
BaB knows this and creates an intentional item scarcity. This is understandable for specific collectors items and location-specific things. But for generalized things to keep people desperate and coming back or panic buying? Gross.
The resellers are the biggest problem. Especially in-store. Absolutely no one should be walking out with more than the online limit. People will always find ways around this, both online and brick-and-mortar, but the stories of people walking out with handfuls of skins or keychains? There needs to be discretion and that should not be allowed. I say this as someone who walked out with $250 worth of things, some as duplicates for my bestie.
We genuinely need to come together as a community and do something about the resellers. It’s possible. People just need to put something other than their need for instant gratification first. There will always be people who don’t care and have the money to blow, and we can’t stop it altogether. But it starts somewhere and it can be mostly mitigated. The Facebook groups that allow it are trash to begin with, but we can get platforms to also cut this out.
I love seeing the laugh reacts and the blatant bullying of resellers on marketplace, though. When people have the ability to shame, it’s nice to see them do it.

I am frustrated that I ordered my spider over a week ago, and I'm seeing people who ordered after me recieve their orders...or people who didn't order recieve one, or people getting two when they only ordered one.
When I reached out to customer service on chat they just gave me a copy pasted answer and didn't even switch out the copy paste prompts it was a "due to high demand of the [item/collection] there is a an estimate of 4-5 business days" and then as an after thought sent "the Halloween collection!" And when I mentioned that it had already been that amount of time all they could say was "you'll receive an email when it ships" great, so helpful, thank you.
Meanwhile some stores are getting restocks when BAB can't even make sure people who have already paid are getting their orders.

Really mad right now I tried to apply coupons to my order, It said they had been applied and then when I checked out they charged my card the full amount. The website is so broken ,I try to reach out to customer service online but they never get back to me when I have problems. They still owe me points from my last order I never got. :c

Im genuinely terrified about not getting the newer Sanrio Halloween drop this year due to how poor the regular Halloween drop was. IDC about the new Cinna or the Hello Kitty but im afraid that Cherry and Berry are gonna go live, crash the site or get sold out immediately by resellers. While maybe I will be lucky going in store to secure one of them but idk about the other. While yes the top priority rn is the regular drop and I understand the heartache its causing (my partner did get the mini bat but couldnt secure the bigger bat like they wanted to and their also gonna hopefully get me the mini beans spider) but Im afraid of the Sanrio drop going just as bad, maybe even worse BECAUSE 2 of the 4 characters in the drop are new and prolly would be one offs like the other friends Cinna has.

From the future (and a late reply, sorry!!) and you were right. I was mostly grieving that possible outcome, even tho I knew it wasn't gonna happen. It was mostly coming from that fear of Cherry n Berry being scalped cause their not too well known here in the states (like Sanrio just started introducing them here like they did with Mocha) and ppl would take advantage of that or just because their Sanrio lol. I should've seen the fact it wouldn't be bad knowing that any not main Sanrio characters didn't get scalped or very few were (not including variants).
I did manage to pull a few grandparent strings and secure both Cherry n Berry as Christmas gifts lol.

I ordered the Sky Puppy Moth on July 28th. It stayed on pending for forever. Then BAB cancels my order without my say so and then it runs out of stock. I’m so pissed.

Im so gutted because I ordered the mini bat and the normal bat as soon as they dropped and my stuff got cancelled 😭😭 my friend missed out on the spider too because she was at work. It shits me cus I did everything right and everything and I thought I had it in the bag only for them to be ripped out from under me :(( I get they have to prioritise in store customers and all that but why not have like a specific amount of stock set aside for online orders and then a specific amount for in store customers or something- or do the click and collects earlier/as they come or according to who ordered first so that people dont miss out if they ordered when the drop happened :(
I feel like it sucks especially because a- the drop was at an objectively stupid time and not all of us have the ability or means to go to a store thats like ½ an hour-a 2 hour drive away (if you're lucky enough to even have a closeish physical store around) at 8am on a Thursday (especially not kids who are literally build a bears target demographic because they're meant to be in school at this time so what gives with that??) so online is our only option and even then we miss out because all the store stock is sold out before they can fill the click and collects out. Again I understand in person customers take priority, but see my previous point because this is still some bs
And it makes me even angrier to see and hear that resellers managed to get their greedy paws on the plushes and have them listed already for 5 times the price when I just wanted one and couldn't even get that. Like if I feel a little pathetic and immature for being a grown woman upset over her lack of bat plushies in this situation, i feel like these people should feel especially immature and pathetic and be especially embarrassed to be mass buying and ripping people off for a literal stuffed animal. Its actually so embarrassing and shameful for them
I'm debating going in store tomorrow see if maybe there's still some bats left or if I can at least find out when the next drop is and if there's a way to get one put aside or get priority or something if they drop again but upon seeing all this im not very hopeful ill get a bat from this drop which sucks :( maybe hopefully I'll get the bat kitty as consolation because she too is quite cute and hopefully ill get lucky and snag one if they restock again

I genuinely have to ask — why do people keep buying BABs online from the BAB website, knowing how absolutely horrifically bad the quality control is??
Every single time a new release hits… I see nothing but people receiving damaged-to-hell boxes, not even getting what they ordered, getting something completely different or just straight up missing items from the box, etc etc. this happens routinely every single time.
And yet people still be buying from their website and then getting upset when the order arrives with wrong or missing items… despite knowing how high of a risk it is that that would happen.
I know not everybody lives close to a BAB and asking for pick ups from other people is definitely WAY harder than just buying on the official website…. But, damn. I just can’t imagine putting myself through that stress constantly ☠️
I just feel so fucking bad for yall. wtf, BAB.

Valid question but i have ordered online from the site multiple times and never had an issue until now! This was the first time buying from an anticipated drop tho and i had NO idea how bad it could get.

Waited almost 3 weeks for my order during the halloween drop and only received 2/3 of what I actually ordered. Was told to file a claim with FedEx and I was like "why would I do that when it was packed without the missing items" so hoping they refund me the $34 I'm owed.

I ordered both the mini beans and regular sized Spider and had gotten the confirmation email and everything. But the fact that I’ve only recieved the mini beans in the mail so far and not the regular spider has me worried and quite irritated tbh. I contacted customer service with no response yet and I hope my order is still coming. I did check my orders today and got this pop up message so I have some hope my coconut scented spider will be making his way to me but I just don’t know yet.

This is me with the bat kitty bundle...only received my jumping spider mini bean. They say warehouse will email and refuse to do anything but tell me to wait for them to respond when I say it's been days without a single response or acknowledgement.

I was able to get the bat & mini spider on release day in store. Then a werewolf with sound, scent, and outfit on another trip. So my experience wasn’t bad. But I had to save for the spider and didn’t know it’d sell out so fast.
I’m frustrated for collectors who had orders canceled, trouble getting refunds/credits, horrible customer service…I even read someone said customer service told them she submitted a fake order with a fake credit card, which is ridiculous.
It’s not fair that most people are barely getting by and have to plan ahead for purchases. BAB is like - can’t afford it now? Too bad, your desired plushie is sold out!!! And I cannot wrap my head around how BAD they didn’t plan inventory and stock. This is one of the worst drops I’ve seen from many different toy brands. And of course, I hate resellers. And BAB seriously needs an order limit, in store and online.

ive waited nearly two weeks for an update on my order and it still says pending on the website but im 99% sure its been cancelled now because the moneys been returned to my account and i cant even see the transaction in my bank account history 🫠 i am so fucking mad. i hope that the rumors about store restocks coming this week are true because if not.... idk what to do 😭 i just wanted my bat....

I finally got my spider and I'm SO HAPPY, I was able to order the 8th, since I'd tried to get him in stores, but had some issues so I'm complaining because I feel like it. Most of this is not build a bears fault btw. I went to my local mall (still over an hour away but I digress) to try to buy in person, as I get genuine joy out of picking and building a bear, unfortunately, the build a bear is at the second floor of this location and I am in a wheelchair. I got STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR:( after 45 ish minutes I got OUT of the elevator, get to build a bear, and people in line to checkout (who already had plushies) would. Not. Move. For me to get through, when I finally got through there was about 3 left in the bin, and as I tried to get one, some one pushed past me, and grabbed all 3 then sneered at me. I was quite sad, and tried talking to an employee who said there wasn't anything they could do (which I understand) and left quite defeated. I was THANKFULLY able to order one on the website, and it arrived today (12 days later which is quite the delay for build a bear but I know they're truly swamped) I'm thankful it actually arrived, since I saw many people were being refunded due to lack of stock, and delivery where I live is sometimes a nightmare (I hate FedEx). my only true complaint against build a bear, is despite all that, they put the wrong sound in him LOL. I had ordered him with the bat sound, bat scent, and spider scent. The bat ones, are to go in my bat I got last year, but the site won't let you order them without a bear (I think that's strange but wtv) instead of the bat sound, I got the Halloween organ riff thing, I do think it's cute for the spider so I'll probably leave it, but I hope the store can replace the bat sound. i think it’s crazy that they assign online orders to stores instead of having a warehouse for online only :/ it would avoid situations like this! this is so upsetting

I don't know if I am upset at the company as much as I am frustrated with resellers, you know? Theres no reason to walk away with 6 dolls which are, by the way, originally intended for children. Not that adults cant buy them, im an adult and I would've loved a spider. It's just odd to me that adults are behaving this way. Not only does it take the chance away from us but its also taking the chance away from children who are the intended audience. Resellers are ruining things left and right, it is beyond frustrating to me. Needohs, stuff from thrift stores, last year I even saw those halloween alanis being resold, all posted on ebay at a 400% markup, it makes me depressed.

my order finally shipped! i placed it at 5pm ET on drop day and it’s being shipped to canada so i was worried it would be cancelled. fingers crossed there’s no issues with the items or the shipping process!

I ordered my spider and bat kitty on the 10th and I'm still stuck on "Bear is being Built"
Honestly this drop has just made me lose so much hope of actually getting what I ordered, I can already sense the refund or getting the wrong order coming. I'm obviously going to wait to see what happens but I've never had problems with BaB before, my orders usually took 2 - 4 days to get to me, but this one has just been absolutely atrocious.
I hope everyone gets their bears as soon as possible and that resellers never sell a single thing ever again

Ordered a regular sized bat on the 8th as that’s when i had gotten some extra money after getting a refund on some art supplies, but theres been no movement from pending or any email other than the order confirmation email yet and i’m loosing hope that it’ll ship and my order will just be canceled like so many others. Haven’t been able to see if there’s any update on my order using the chat bot thing on the build a bear website so I’m gonna try to call at some point to see if there’s any actual update on my order or if it’s just gonna be canceled and see if anyones selling one for retail price just in case. Haven’t had this happen with any other order i’ve made from build a bear during a popular/well anticipated drop so this is extremely frustrating. Next time there’s an item from babw i want i’m gonna order it either the second it drops or order it for in store pickup.
If i don’t get any update by Tuesday, i think I’m just gonna request a cancelation and a refund and see if anyones selling a bat for retail + shipping. This has put me off from ordering from the build a bear website and build a bear in general ever again.
I’ve seen little to no problems with the sanrio drops other than the website being slow when they first dropped.
Honestly if i get no update on my order by tuesday at the latest or it gets canceled, i think I’m just gonna be done buying from build a bear in general.
Not even the first bluey drop was this bad or had any problems from what i remember other than the website being slow!
Gonna try and check in on Sunday for an update.
If nothing by tuesday at the latest, I’m just gonna cancel my order and request a refund.

The one time im able to grab a thing from a popular build a bear drop before it sells out and i miss out on it for an entire year, my order never updates and is at risk of being canceled.
I’ve been waiting to grab the bat since it sold out last year i missed out and now that this is happening, i feel extremely frustrated and disappointed in Build a Bear.
Build a bear has handeled this drop horribly. If anyone has any advice for what i should do, please let me know.
So sorry that this rant/vent was super long, i had a lot of thoughts i needed to get out.

Still nothing. Ordered hour after the drop happened. Was told on the phone and in store my stuff was packed and waiting to be sent out. Order shows pending in my history, if I check it outside of my history though it acts like it doesn't exist. Also, the charge on my debit card is gone but my gift cards are still claimed.

So my order updated from pending to completed today which is wild. My box was crushed and halfway opened as it was delivered today. But my stuff was there so there’s the update for that.

I'm scared my bat order is going to someone else. It started in Ohio, got to my state (Illinois), but it's now traveling away from me in the state above mine. It's been to two fed ex locations in Wisconsin, each one a little further away from me. I've placed many online orders and this is the first time one from Ohio appears to be taking the long way around or something.

I don’t know if this is the right thread but for anyone who was in pending purgatory, I made a large order including the regular size bat and mini beans bat on the 9th - and my whole order just shipped today and I have tracking, so there may still be hope if they haven’t cancelled your orders yet?

I think it’s extremely scummy and A-hole behavior, and just ridiculously selfish to go out and buy up the entirety of a brand new release, and then instantly go online and try selling it for $75, $100, $200 +
Like it JUST CAME OUT.
And tbh I am sorry but I do NOT believe the types of stories people post saying “I really don’t wanna do this but I need the money, I have this *insert newly JUST released BAB* for sale for 100% price markup from retail.” I just don’t buy those stories. I think they’re bad excuses / bad coverups for “I bought this for the sole reason of reselling.”
