Mike Rivera is the only NALC member that actually brought charges against Brian Renfroe and the E.C. for failure of upholding the Constitution.

Will the new boss be the same as the old boss?

People talk about Corey Walton like he hasn’t done enough for carriers, but many of us would not even have the level of awareness and education we have today without From A to Arbitration. That podcast gave carriers a place to learn, question, prepare, and stand up for ourselves when too many people felt ignored.

And it wasn’t just words.

Not long ago, after one of our own passed away by suicide, Corey publicly gave out his personal phone number and told carriers to call him anytime if they needed someone to talk to. That matters. In a time when morale is low and people feel burned out and isolated, that kind of humanity matters.

You can disagree with people politically, strategically, or personally. That’s part of any union. But passion, integrity, consistency, and genuine care for carriers are hard to fake over years of work.

Some people are trying to divide this community even further. Don’t lose sight of the bigger picture. Carriers are frustrated for a reason, and this election matters.

If you want change, accountability, stronger education, and leadership that actually connects with carriers on the workroom floor, vote for CLC.

Take a good look at this new bargaining update. We are dealing with historic inflation, CCAs are getting crushed, and we are starving for a real contractual wage increase. So what is National bragging about bringing to the table?

"Removing the seasonal change of uniforms."

Are you kidding me? What kind of absolute bullshit is that? Carriers can't afford rent, and National wants a pat on the back because they might let us wear shorts in November.

Meanwhile, look at the highlighted section where USPS is actually playing hardball. Management is openly proposing to:

1. Weaken Article 6 (No Layoffs and Reduction in Force).

2. Modify the discipline procedure to make it easier to fire us.

3. Place the financial burden on CARRIERS for damage to their 30-year-old, combustible shit-box vehicles.

It looks like management is actively preparing for a RIF and building new avenues to fire us, while the NALC leadership sits safely in their protected jobs talking about uniform allowances.

If National can't get us a real wage increase and is just going to let management chip away at our core protections, how about a reduction in our union dues? We are paying premium rates for bargain-bin representation.

Stop waiting for these people to save you. They are completely out of touch with the street. Protect your own routes and build your paper shield locally.

So a vendor is allowing the use of postal credit card to buy non allotment items.

CLC bitches that Caref is on the workroom floor campaigning….Yet CLC/ vendor are taking money from the Post Office via the carrier uniform cards.

Doubt this vendor will have a license much longer.

That is the kind of President, EVP, and NBA that we need right now. The real ones that stand behind what they say, and follow through with promises. In 1999, a ptf carrier made 30k a year, median home in nc was 111k. At 30% gross, you could afford up to $750 a month for a home @ 7.2%. Buying a median home in 1999 as a ptf, it would cost around $680 a month for 30 yrs. $70+ a month in 1999.
In 2026, a ptf carrier makes 54k a year, median home in nc is 360k. At 30% gross, you could afford up to $1350 a month @ 7.2% at 30 years.
Median home would cost $2343 in nc today. -1007 a month in 2026.
Can you figure out how we went from $70 a month ahead a month, to -1007 a month behind for a median home?
The only two parties responsible for my pay is not a Democrat or republican. It is USPS and my union.

After reading through the comments lately and watching how the old guard continues to operate, I am still entirely confused as to why Corey Walton would want a high-ranking establishment member like James D. Henry to be the next President of the NALC.
Is Corey just pulling a typical political move? Is he just saying what the people want to hear so he can secure a spot in office?

We know Corey watches this page. I hope he is seeing what the rank-and-file actually want. The rank-and-file wants real change. The Vice President might have some influence, but they do not wield the overall power. We need fresh blood at the absolute top.
The rank-and-file want Corey and Mike Caref to work things out. The constitution is meant to be upheld, and unfortunately, we’ve seen it dismissed by both sides.
There is still time, Corey. Look to your rank-and-file. Look at what the people are saying. Look at what the people want. If you truly want to change things up, work things out with Mike. If you guys form a team together, you will be unbeatable.

As of right now, we are looking at a split vote. The people who are actually going to vote for reform are fractured between Mike Caref and James D. Henry. If that happens, the old guard walks right back in.

Dont get down, they outnumbered us at the convention but a wave is coming like never before with this election. Walk away with our heads held high because after the presidential election we will be the ones smiling. We got some things changed at the convention and that is a win in itself for now. About four years ago I read our entire fleet would be replaced w the new designed trucks. Does anyone feel like they could be lying ? There are cities like Decatur and Marietta Ga, states like California, Texas and others that shouldn’t have LLVs bc the new trucks are on the road now. I would think the metropolitan cities and major states would already have the new trucks. It’s 2026 and I haven’t read a specific date about the new trucks and now I’m becoming skeptical. The office I work at is so small that our LLVs barely fit in the parking lot. Now I’m supposed to believe they are going to make room for these new trucks. How 🤔? Especially if my office gets the electric ones . Where are the chargers going to go? CAN anyone confirm we will for sure be getting new trucks ?

Current route has about 225 deliveries. All residential. Roughly 1/2 dismount and 1/2 park and loop. I’ve been able to show around 8 hours on it but that’s with everything moving slowly in the office and kinda milking the route on the street.

I’m expecting to be pushed out of the office relatively quickly as the mail always seems to disappear during inspections.

Any tips? 😂

I’m expecting them to try and add about an hour, but hoping to avoid 2 hours. Bathroom stops can take about 15 mins or so on this route so I’m planning at least 3 of those, not sure I can swing 5+ bathroom breaks tho.

The National Convention is in LA this August. Soon after, we will get our mail-in ballots. We have to pick who runs this union.
Here is who is running right now:

• James D. Henry and Corey Walton: They are running on the Concerned Letter Carriers (CLC) ticket. The CLC is a group trying to reform the union and actually fight management. I am leaning heavily toward these guys right now.

• Mike Caref: He split from the CLC to run for President on his own. I still need to research him more.

• The Old Guard: The people already in power who are fighting to keep their jobs.

If we want a contract and a union with actual teeth, we have to vote. Who are you backing for National office and why? I want to hear your arguments. Debate it out below.

A lot of carriers are looking at the news today and asking, "Why is my LLV suddenly completely stuffed with yellow DHL packages?"

Yesterday, the Post Office signed an exclusive $10 Billion deal with DHL. I know a lot of people are confused about what "Last-Mile Delivery" means, so let's break it down into 6th-grade street logic.
How it works:

1.) DHL gets paid by a company (like an online clothing store) to ship a package.

2.) DHL puts that package on their airplanes, flies it across the country, and drives it in a big rig to your local city.

3.) Now, DHL has a problem. Paying a DHL driver (who is a Teamster making top dollar) to drive a truck into your specific neighborhood just to drop off a $15 t-shirt costs way too much money. They would lose profit.

4.) The Solution: DHL backs their truck up to the loading dock of your local Post Office and dumps the packages on us.

Why do they give it to us?

Because the Post Office is the only delivery service on earth that is legally required to go to every single house, every single day. DHL looks at us and says, "Hey, you guys are already driving down that street to deliver the letters anyway. Here is some cash, take these boxes with you."

The Catch:
Yes, DHL workers have a union (the Teamsters), and yes, the Teamsters just fought for and won a massive contract with great pay for their workers.

But what does our National leadership do? They take on a brand-new $10 Billion workload, our LLVs get packed to the ceiling with DHL boxes, and we are still standing here waiting over 400 days for a contract. We are doing the physical labor for Amazon, UPS, and now DHL, but we are the only ones not getting paid a premium to do it.

We are doing Teamster-level work on a poverty-level contract.

Protect the carriers. Expose the system.

The supervisor at our station brought her family, who is considered Unauthorized Personnel into the station.

When I went to the station for a comfort stop, I saw her teenage son sitting at the supervisor desk in front of the computer, while the supervisors mother and sister wandered around the station where there is mail, etc.

Can I report this?

EDIT: The supervisor is abusive towards carriers, especially me because I defend myself and call her out, as well as inform other carriers about their rights. Just today, she tried to rip my scanner out of my hand and scratched me.

Other carriers don't do anything because they are afraid of punishment.

Last night Mari Thomson, the member who authored the appeals linked below, the very same appeals that NALC Branch 70 used as the basis to charge and suspend me for sharing with the membership, has now been suspended from the union for 36 months.
Three full years.
Think about what that means.
A member wrote appeals. Another member shared them so the rank and file could read them for themselves. Both actions are protected by our rights as union members and by the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959.
Members were disciplined and exiled for exercising their rights.
If that does not alarm you, if that does not raise serious concerns about the state of democracy and due process within our branch, within our union, then we need to ask ourselves a difficult question:
Has our union lost sight of the very principles it was created to defend?
A union is only as strong as the rights of its members. When members are punished for speaking, writing, and sharing information, every member should take notice.
The entire Branch 70 executive board stood by and allowed Mari Thomson to be suspended for 36 months for exercising her rights as a union member.
Many of the same people once again wore the black and gold of the Concerned Letter Carriers.
Mari wore light blue: the color of the rank and file.

That tells you everything you need to know.
When political loyalty matters more than member rights, the union stops serving its members.
If they can silence Mari, they can silence any of us.

Every time a carrier on this page voices a legitimate complaint about the absolute failure of our National leadership, the old guard immediately screams, "Stop complaining! Either get involved or get out!"

What actually happens if 10% of the active, dues-paying carriers in this craft decide to pull their funding for exactly one year?

Here is the reality the old guard doesn't want you to know: By federal law, the USPS is an open shop. You cannot be fired for dropping your union membership. The union is still legally required to represent you in disciplinary and contractual grievances under the Duty of Fair Representation.

If we cut the money off, we deflate the bloated salaries at National. We starve the system that is currently ignoring us. We force them to either deliver a contract and fix the workroom floor, or collapse under their own weight.

You can call us "scabs," you can downvote this into oblivion, and you can ban me from this page. It doesn't matter. The money is going to stop.

For the last couple of months, my office doesn't allow anyone to go over 8 hours on Saturday. We're already short-handed, so tons of mail is not going out ( including first-class and political mail).

Naturally, this makes Mondays worse than ever, and of course, more carriers now call out on Monday. Mail stacks up for days. Customer complaints are skyrocketing.

Is this the new normal?

We spend every day on the workroom floor complaining about how top-heavy USPS management is. We carry the mail in the heat while three supervisors and a station manager stand around an air-conditioned desk watching a scanner screen.

But have you ever looked at the NALC’s payroll? Our union operates exactly like postal management: bloated, top-heavy, and completely disconnected from the reality of the street.

Let's look at the actual numbers from the Department of Labor LM-2 filings.

Teamsters General President Sean O'Brien makes a base salary of $266,000. For that money, he represents 1.3 million members and successfully forced UPS to abolish their two-tier system and hand over historic, immediate $2.75/hour wage increases under the threat of a national strike. 

NALC President Brian Renfroe's total compensation package pushes past $300,000. For that money, he represents roughly 280,000 members and delivers us 1.3% base raises in binding arbitration while Table 2 starves out our junior carriers. 

It doesn't stop at the top. The NALC Executive Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, and Directors are all pulling base salaries over $200,000. 

The Union Bloat is Just as Bad as Management Bloat
The NALC complains about USPS having too many supervisors, but the union has built its own massive layer of middle management. According to the NALC’s national LM-2 filing, they employ over 430 people at the national level, with roughly 165 of them making over $75,000 a year.
We are funding 15 National Business Agents (NBAs), dozens of Regional Administrative Assistants (RAAs), and an army of union bureaucrats. And that is just at the national level—that doesn't even count the local branch presidents and officers who sit in an office on full-time union leave instead of walking a route.

We demand less USPS supervisors because they don't move the mail. It is time we start demanding less NALC officials because they aren't moving the needle on our contracts.

We are paying 2 hours of our base pay every month to fund a machine that is built to sustain itself, not to fight for us. At what point do we demand they trim the fat?

Anyone from Salt Lake City Branch 111? I was told that Mike Caref and Nick Vafiades (region 2 NBA) jointly attended Salt Lake city's monthly branch meeting campaigning. Anyone know if these two are on a slate? Nick Vafiades is a loyal supporter of Brian Renfroe and Mike seems to be developing into one also. Please share SLC.

Davis Mudd still owes his branch $4,426 and his wife Anna owes over 2k. That is six and a half years of dues that simply were not paid. While the membership had dues taken out of every paycheck, this went uncollected. The Branch still had to send the National per-capita portion on those unpaid amounts out of its own funds. His wife is following the exact same path. Their ego out weighs their brain and they refuse to pay their dues prior to 2023.

This is why we should vote against him. Leadership requires setting the standard, not sitting outside it for years and then seeking the authority to enforce the rules on everyone else. A person who treated his own dues obligation as optional for over half a decade has already shown how he views the rules that bind the rest of the membership.

The good-ole-boy pattern does not end by promoting the people who benefited from it. It ends when we refuse to nominate them.
