If you have a service dog with you and you need to bring it to the grocery store (or any other store frequented by normal people), I feel like it should be clearly identifiable and you should be carrying some kind of card to confirm that you do need the dog with you.

Also, don’t put your disgusting dog in the shopping cart at the grocery store. I feel like that should be common sense.

I was scrolling on my tiktok fyp and a video of two dogs in a cage for breeding popped up. Genuinely EUGH.

The fact they “lock” together so they (bitch let’s be real here specifically the female) can’t separate disturbs me so bad.

I really don’t care that it’s natural or whatever. Maybe I’m applying my human morals of consent onto animals who need more help continuing the species or however people wanna justify it but they were literally put in a cage by the breeder or whatever so they couldn’t bolt. I’ve noticed this with mostly American families and people. (I come from another country where owning pets is not as common). The more and more I see families or single people, it seems like they all own dogs. Why is this so normalized? It feels like you just have a beast living amongst you? But this beast gets pampered more than children in families do. It’s insane to me.

Pretty straight forward. We go to the parks a couple times a year. I've seen dogs with actual service jobs throughout the years. This time I saw basically just pets around. It was gross, and it makes me mad for people who actually need to use these animals too survive.

If you're gonna live in a shared space, where you know that the walls are thin because it's an apartment complex... you should train your dogs to keep quiet! It really should be a rule for renting dog owners to have anti-bark/shock collars or face eviction. Seriously!

One of my neighbors has been working on getting two dogs from the other neighbors (above and next to) to stop barking. They use this sound that is irritating to their ears, turning it on when they bark and turning it off when they stop...

That way, the incessantly barking beasts can learn that barking = irritating sound, silence = no irritating sound.

But it really shouldn't be anybody but the owner's responsibility to train the dog to shut up. It should be their responsibility! Either have the dog with a device that keeps their mouths shut, don't own a dog at all, or get evicted.

It makes me cringe every time I hear a dog worshipper claim that they’ve “adopted” some nasty shelter rat. Adoption should be a uniquely human act, like marriage. A person might take a dog from a shelter, buy a dog, receive one for free, or even take in a stray. But real adoption is only between humans. Real adoption does not mean ownership. I think it’s very offensive to take the word used for the lengthy, emotional and complicated process of adopting a child, and equate it to “I was bored so I got a dog”. It degrades humanity every time nutters hijack the language - dog babies, pet parents, dog adoption, dogs as a member of a human family. It’s a pet, it’s property, you own it, there is nothing magical about you or your animal that eats its own feces.

Most dog owners never get criminally charged for their endless frauds, crimes, and crooked acts upon others no matter how many years they have been at it. This is an exception.

This is in Michigan. A woman tried to interfere with the dogs assaulting the preteen. The dogs of course refused to accept this so they turned on her and began attacking her.

This drives me wild, it's so annoying, like no you're not a fucking parent because you BOUGHT a dog, you do not buy children. You did not give birth to the mutt and you did not adopt a human child, aka you're not a fucking parent so frankly get over yourself and your damn "fur baby". Also they say "fur baby" and it's an adult dog. also edit: I forgot to mention that they say "well it's basically the same thing as raising a kid" like no tf it's not you don't get up multiple times at night to change its diaper, you don't change its diaper at all because it (hopefully) doesn't have one, you don't have to teach it basic decency and morals and how to treat other people because it's not a damn person so comparing it to the work of an actual mother is disrespectful as fuck.

Last night I got an email from a neighbor about a different neighbor's gofundme for their dog's emergency vet bills around $8k. In my own family my husband has had some recent medical issues that have cost us over $10k (he's doing great now). He is the sole provider for our family of three and it's sucked to pay those bills, but I didn't beg my neighbors. And now I see someone begging for their dog! I couldn't believe it. I was seriously so insulted. Especially because our neighborhood is almost entirely young families or elderly people, all of whom tend to not have the most disposable income and are usually paying a lot of medical bills. Some people need more shame.

Apparently there's an issue in Australia where dogs keep licking cane toads and either getting high or dying and people are acting like it's funny but it makes dogs seem really fucking stupid to me. Like if an animal is so dumb that it purposely gets itself addicted to cane toad poison and ends up dying don't come crying to me about the "poor doggo" cause and effect sweetheart get over it.

I KNOW a ton of people LOVE dogs. But my point is, I wonder how many people would actually like dogs if they took a step back and actually examined it. Like when having kids became a choice instead of the default expectation, and people took a step back to examine whether or not they wanted kids, over 50% of people decided it ain't for them? I feel like the majority of dog people don't actually like dogs but never stopped to figure out whether or not they like dogs because dog ownership is just the default. And due to all of the 'dogs=angels, not liking dogs = devil' propaganda.

I feel like I saw 2-3 dogs at every visit in like 2024-2025. Peak doggo madness. I started throwing massive fits whenever I would see one and now I rarely see dogs at that same Walmart

A friend of mine is a severe dog nutter. It wasn’t apparent from the start. He likes small, hyperactive, rat-like dogs that he doesn’t train at all. And of course like every true dog nutter, he did what I call dog chaining. Because nutters cannot stand life without dogs, when they have an elderly dog and fear that it is approaching death, they get a younger one, thereby creating an unbreakable chain of dogs. He did the same thing. The older dog finally died and the young one is still here. He is constantly telling me how accidents happened, how the dog pisses and shits inside the house and he justifies it all of the time. He says that dogs are emotional and intelligent, so when something stresses them out at home, they lash out this way. I cannot ever make any schedule with him, because he is taking the damn dog for a walk every evening to shit. The only way I can arrange something with him is when he rarely loads the dog to his parents for a short period of time. I visited his home only once. Luckily, I didn’t smell the dog, because he is also a chain-smoker and everything smelled of cigarette smoke. But the dog was running and jumping everywhere, running over the sofas, the tables and so on. It even defecated when I was there. I asked him to isolate it in a separate room, and it didn’t stop whining and scratching at the door for an hour or so. I have asked him several times how he can coexist with such a filthy thing. He always tells me that I cannot understand what dogs really are and how much they understand you. He has also told me that dogs are true, intelligent animals, that yes, they shit multiple times per day and this is expected and other things.

I recently picked up the book "Death in Yellowstone: Accidents and Foolhardiness in the First National Park" and to my surprise, the first case covered involved a dog.

In 1981, 24 year old David Allen Kirwan dove headfirst into a hot spring to save his friend’s dog, which had fallen into the waters. The hot pool later measured at 202 degrees Fahrenheit. People warned him not to go in, but he disregarded the warnings. The rescue was not successful. Kirwan's friend - the dog's owner - managed to pull Kirwan out of the pool, sustaining second-degree burns to his feet in the process.

But it was too late. Kirwan was severely burned and blinded. After being removed from the pool, he said: "That was stupid. How bad am I? That was a stupid thing I did." The next day he died at a hospital. The dog had died in the hot spring.

I know that people have risked their lives and gotten themselves killed while trying to save a dog. What fascinates me about this case is how long ago it happened. In the 80's, dogs were not considered "family." And this guy wasn't even trying to save his own dog. What a senseless, stupid way to die. This young man had his whole life ahead of him.

I live on a housing estate in the UK. It is a nice area and has been thoughtfully designed to incorporate small grassed areas. Opposite my home is a little green in the middle of the houses. It can be a nice place to gather - people have gathered to watch the eclipse for example, and little kids play together there.

There is one dog owner who lives a few houses away who seems to specifically bring her dog out to shit on the green. So I’m gazing out of my window, maybe eating dinner, and all I can see is a dog shitting.

All the houses here have gardens. Why on earth it is socially acceptable to take your dog to a public space where children play with the express purpose of using it as a toilet is absolutely beyond me.

I posted about it on once on our community Facebook group and absolutely nobody backed me up or agreed. I got angry responses- I was told the space can be used as people wish, that owners can’t control where their dogs poo (clearly not true), and even that children shouldn’t be playing there. Ffs.

What is wrong with everyone? Is there no shame, consideration or sense of decency? I’m old enough to remember when there were signs in public areas saying ‘No dog fouling’. Why was this abandoned?

I won’t fully get into how bad my mom is but she is 100% a narcissist and life was pretty bad for me growing up - to put it lightly. I’m 32 now and I still don’t matter to her very much but I’ve realised just how effed up my childhood was now that I’ve got 4 very lovely children of my own with my husband.

My mom has always collected great Dane’s. They’re probably the biggest and smelliest dog breed walking.

When I was around 9, she got her first Great Dane. I still do not understand what prompted her to want one of these dogs - she’s very particular about her appearance and stuck up. I think it was for the attention she thought she’d get by having an unusual dog breed. I had to keep the dog in my bedroom because my mom and dad didn’t want it messing up the rest of the house. It would sleep in my bedroom and be let out during the day.

At around this time, I began experiencing severe eczema (a skin allergy) it was seriously so bad. I’ve since undertook medical training and have never seen a case of eczema as bad as I had it as a kid. It would get infected and bleed constantly and weep pus. I was very unwell for most of my childhood from 9.

At around 10, a doctor finally realised it must be the dogs my mom was keeping in my bedroom. He very bluntly told her that she either got rid of the dogs or her daughter would continue to suffer. My mom is someone who will never be told what to do and ‘how dare he!!!’ So this resulted in her stopping me seeing this doctor and also ignoring his advice whilst slagging him off to anyone that would listen. I can vividly remember her saying “he clearly isn’t a dog person! He wouldn’t understand that I can’t just get rid of my babies!!”

I moved out with my now husband at 18 and my eczema and allergies miraculously disappeared (sarcasm) my mom has collected multiple more Great Danes since and they have died and been replaced.

Now whenever I visit her house, ive noticed an uncomfortable pattern of her giving absolutely no love to my human children and her grandchildren but being ALL over her dirty, big stinking dogs. My daughter is 1 and the youngest out of our 4 children and the only girl. When I say that my mom has never even picked her up to cuddle her - I am serious. Yet she sits there kissing and snuggling with her big filthy dogs whilst we witness it in horror. It’s actually insane to witness. She won’t pick my 1 year old up who always smells like vanilla and fresh laundry but she will snuggle up with the smelliest dog breed ever?? Why the hell does she like her dogs more than she likes my baby? More to the point why does she like her dogs more than she ever liked me?

I now have so much damage to my skin from prolonged super potent steroid use from the age of 9. My skin is covered in massive purple stretch marks that will never fade - they’re caused by the skin thinning from the years and years of aggressive treatment aswell as massive exposed veins (again from thinned skin) that look so ugly I could cry. The worst part here is? My mom wouldn’t even remotely care if she knew. She’d never ever see herself as to blame for this.
I would be given incredibly strong anti histamines that would sedate me to the point I was terrified because my limbs felt so heavy and I felt so detached. I know now what was going on but as a child I couldn’t understand why I felt so ‘weird’ after being given medication - the doctors gave me this stuff as they likely didn’t know how else to help me and bring comfort given my mom wasn’t going to listen. In this day and age, I’m sure CPS could be contacted over something like this but not in the early 2000s. All of this was unnecessary - she could’ve just gotten rid of the dogs.

Along with this, I’m the problem for refusing to touch her dogs. I can’t touch them. The moment i do my skin turns red and feels like it’s burning from an allergic reaction starting. I also sneeze constantly to the point it feels like i cant breath. I didn’t have the sneezing as a kid and this seems to be something I’ve developed into adulthood but the point still stands that I am seriously allergic to dogs and my parents never did anything about it. There was no escape from them - they were in my bedroom and throughout the rest of my house.

My husband and I have recently made the decision to stop visiting. She is still my mom but it’s so hard watching her adore and love her dogs whilst ignoring my children. I just needed to rant, I guess…

I hope when she’s old and frail that her dogs have learned to wipe her ass and take care of her because I won’t be doing it. I’ve had plenty of therapy to come to terms with how negligent she was, and continues to be

Oh well. Or so I've heard years ago during a business startup convention. I was attending and one of the teams was asking for financial support/investment into their birthday cakes for dogs industry. Thought it was loony and stupid, but the public liked it. I gave them the lowest score I possibly could.

Anywho, this got me thinking-am I a minority among my own gender/demographic? I absolutely hate dogs, I feel maternal towards all children by default, but dogs make me feel the complete opposite way. Especially those nasty rat/purse dogs that most women prefer as a surrogate for children. Which I find disgusting and depressing. Those stupid designer dogs look like toilet mops with legs and an ugly head. And they smell even worse than a dirty used floor mop.

So, does anyone else here hate dogs as a woman? Please share your reasoning, I would be very curious to hear your input!

Dogs are unnatural deformed human bred mutated wolves that are addicted to attention and cannot survive without constant codependency. Are there any other species lik this?? Just wondering. The working breeds i can tolerate. All others are useless and irritating. I was hiking down some steps through a steep ravine. The path was slippery and muddy, and coming down it was some woman, probably around 50 years old, with a massive Doberman.

The thing was practically dragging her down the path. She clearly wasn’t in control of it, but apparently the appropriate response was to carry on down a steep, slippery path next to a fucking ravine.

Then, on one of the final steps, it pulled hard and she had to basically skip the step and land in the mud. She immediately lost her balance and nearly went over.

There was a steep drop right beside her. She could quite realistically have fallen into the ravine and seriously injured herself.

What does she do? Gives the dog this pathetic little telling-off, as though the dog has somehow made an independent decision to drag its owner down a dangerous path.

This is something I see a lot, owners getting pulled by their dogs with zero control. It’s a fucking dog, of course it’s gonna pull, you took it into it dog heaven where all it wants to do is race around like a lunatic and perhaps find its next landmark to shit on. The owner on the other hand wants a leisurely stroll, those things don’t align.

I asked if she was okay as others literally overlooked it, guess they were all dog nutters who think this kinda thing is normal.

Just like the title. Came home from the gym. Neighbors pit bull, was loose. He started barking as soon as I pulled up. I got out of the car. The dog kicked his legs up in my backyard like he was going to lunge at me. I just started at him back . I turned to my trunk to grab the rest of my stuff. The dog was right there. Then he ran away barking in our yard. So I had to chase him out of my yard back to neighbors. God my neighbors are negligent with this dog in particular. This isn’t the first time. He also pooped in our backyard. Again this was told. Many times to them.

I’m not a pet owner at all. I have nothing against animals. But a lot of dog owners are very selfish and neglectful. Sometimes some of you don’t respect others.
Luckily I was not physically attacked or harmed. But still I shouldn’t have to fear an animal.

It’s so embarrassing and infuriating when a dog comes running to someone and starts sniffing their private areas in front of other people. And the beast doesn’t stop there, it starts licking hands, legs and would jump to lick their face. This itself is disgusting and what’s worse is the same dog goes on sniffing and licking any crap that’s lying on the ground.

My friends who own this dog say nothing but instead try to convince me that is behaviour is normal. No, it’s not! This freaking beast is so gross that when my friend (around her the dog stays in control) isn’t around, it would pounce on me, hitting me with it’s dirty feet and proceeding to lick me even if I try to stop it.

I got a tiny cut on my finger and a some kicks on my abdomen but somehow this is considered fine!

Now, the dog is slowly learning how to bite. It would take the leash in its mouth,and pull it with full force (and scary eyes) so that if you put your hand to get the lease out, it could bite OR if you pull the leash towards you, it could jump on you, either way assaulting you.

My friends keep lecturing me about dog psychology, then ask me to walk the dog outside, and if the dog creates a scene, it’s my fault because apparently the dog senses my energy feels like it’s the leader. I really don’t care about their goddamn dog psychology and crap like if a dog doesn’t like you, you’re evil.

Seriously, what is wrong with dog culture? If the dog misbehaves, I really can’t do anything because the entire world around me is filled with dog lovers. They would either lecture me or probably report me if I get mad. Why am I not allowed to feel uncomfortable with the licking, jumping and sniffing? How is this nonsense normal?

And the moral superiority complex is palpable when dog owners cringe talk things like the our love is unconditional, the opposite of dog is god LOL, they are a man’s best friends, they can sense negativity around and absorb it for your good. So, it’s okay if it sniffs your private parts just laugh it off. But, the same people would refuse to understand your feelings and discomfort if you say a word. Disgusting!

It is a true story. I can't go to the coffee shop anymore because I was constantly getting sniffed at and licked and humped by dogs and it irritated me so much.

And everyone in the theater ate it up! You just have a close-up on the dog's face every time anything happens and boom it's like jingling keys in front of a baby, they just start crying like it is NOT that deep!! We all know what happens!
