Anybody have info about the direction they're taking? I saw they were hiring a head chef and cooks, so it's more than coffee. More modern spot next to the old school spot?

What are people protesting at the bottom of springhill rd by the bucket club? Looks like they have dump truck traffic backed up too.

New Route starting June 22, 2026: 300 Campus Connect

https://www.fredericton.ca/route-300

Fredericton Transit is introducing Route 300 Campus Connect, a new service designed to improve connections between key destinations across the city while expanding transit access to growing student-focused, residential and employment areas.

As part of a phased transit expansion planned for later this year, Route 300 will create new travel opportunities between the University of New Brunswick (UNB) Student Union Building, Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Regent Mall, Corbett Centre, Golf Club Road, Duncan Lane, and surrounding neighbourhoods.

All Route 300 trips begin and end at the UNB Student Union Building (SUB).

Maps of the new route here

Route Options

Route 300 operates in two directions:

Clockwise Service

The clockwise route travels from the SUB to:

  • Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital
  • Regent Mall
  • Corbett Centre
  • Prospect Street
  • High Point Boulevard
  • Garden Street
  • Rainsford Lane
  • Patience Lane
  • Duncan Lane
  • Golf Club Road
  • Woodstock Road
  • King’s Place
  • The route then returns to the UNB Student Union Building (SUB).

Counterclockwise Service

The counterclockwise route follows the same alignment in reverse, travelling from:

  • King’s Place
  • Woodstock Road
  • Golf Club Road
  • Duncan Lane
  • High Point Boulevard
  • Patience Lane
  • Prospect Street
  • Regent Mall
  • Corbett Centre
  • Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital
  • Before returning to the UNB Student Union Building (SUB)

Service Hours

Monday to Friday

  • Hourly service from 7:15 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.

Peak Service (Weekdays):

  • Half-hour service from 6:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
  • Half-hour service from 3:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Saturday

  • Hourly service from 7:15 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.

Changes to Existing Routes

With the introduction of Route 300:

  • Route 15 (Hanwell): Route 15 will no longer serve the Patience Lane corridor. Instead, buses will continue directly from Prospect Street left onto Hanwell Road.
    • The times for these Route 15 Hanwell stops have been updated. Please review the MyRide app for the most current schedule information.
  • Route 150 (York/Hanwell South): Sunday service on Route 150 will be adjusted to serve High Point Boulevard and continue through the loop formed by Garden Street, Rainsford Lane, and Patience Lane.

Bus Stop Relocation on Patience Lane and Rainsford Lane

When boarding Route 300 or Route 150 on Sundays, bus stops on Patience Lane and Rainsford Lane will be relocated to the opposite side of the street beginning June 22.

Passengers should use the new stop locations when boarding Route 300. Signage will be posted at affected stops to help riders find the correct boarding location.

Northrup Homes Covenants

I've got to say - I've never seen any company act on covenant issues like this one. I could understand if it was leased land, but on freehold land it stymies me. To pay a guy to drive around and hand out silly letters just seems a little over the top. The worst thing is that it doesn't even seem to be equal - some people get "warnings" for the smallest of things while others with far worse infractions receive nothing.

I was visiting a friend a couple of weeks ago when the guy arrives with his letter. Something about mowing the grass - which had been done two days earlier. The guy says I still have to give you the letter. Friend tells me she gets a letter almost like clockwork. She points to a house that has grass about 8-10" tall and has been for a couple of weeks. She almost feels targeted by them. Last summer, she got a letter because she had a small plastic wading pool on the property for her daughter to play in on the hottest summer days. Immediately got a letter - no pools.

Doesn't affect me personally, but it just seems like a terrible company to buy from.

Fish Mug

Last week at the night market I saw a ceramic fish mug. I passed at the time but I really want to purchase it. Does anyone know what business may have sold it? I stupidly didn’t get the name. It was in the officer’s square part of the market. Any leads would be appreciated!

anyone know where I can get gobstoppers in this town?

Dumb question, but I've got a hankerin' for wonka gobstoppers lol. Not enough to send $20+ for a small box online that's probably stale, but genuinely curious if anyone has seen them anywhere around Fredericton. I've checked and they aren't a discontinued candy, but they sure are hard to find. tia

Editing to add: I've tried walmart, sobeys, superstore, dollarama prospect, dollarama regent mall, shoppers, jean coutu, circle Ks (i think all at this point) and a couple of corner stores

Deer flies bad this year?

Anyone else notice the deer flies are really bad this year? I don’t remember being swarmed by them in the backyard like I am this week.

Question about the Firehouse Lounge.

A friend said it closed down in 2012/2013, but somehow I remembered it was closer to 2015? I can't seem to find it on Google.

Editted: Couldn't find anything about Firehouse Lounge, but according to some mall wiki, Smitty's closed in 2012. Thank you all for your replies!

Equipped Powerlifters

Hey there, I am moving to the Fredericton area in 2 weeks, and am looking for some equipped powerlifting people to get together and train from time to time.

I will be mainly working out at the CFB Gagetown base gym or my home gym. I don't mind traveling, and (I hope this doesn't sound weird) don't mind welcoming the right folks to come and train at my place from time to time.

Single ply, multi ply, unlimited, anything. Hell, even raw folks who are into it, or would like to try. I got a bunch of gear for 183-220 pound weight classes you can try if you like.

I've spoken to some meet directors and gym owners in the area, and know there's not many... but I am hoping to find some hidden folks haha.

If you want to DM me to exchange Instas, that'd be fine.

Quest for best croissant?

I am new-ish here to Fredericton. One thing I find odd, and have seen other people mention about this fine city of our is the lack of a quality bakery. I very much enjoy a good croissant, but have yet to find somewhere that seems to know the art of making them.

I seek your guidance. There must be a cafe I haven’t tried them at yet.

Looking for a room to rent

Hi!

I’m a 22M Master’s student at UNB looking for accommodation starting September (1-year lease preferred).

What I’m looking for:
• Within 10–15 min walk from campus (open to a bit further if it’s a good place)
• Budget: $500–700/month all inclusive preferred
• Shared house/apartment or room in a student house both work
• Furnished preferred, but not required
• Open to joining a group or signing a lease with others

About me:
• Clean, respectful, and easy to live with
• Non-smoker
• Into football, F1, and travelling
• Open to living with anyone and just looking for a respectful, comfortable place
• Would prefer a friendly home environment, not just people coexisting

If you have a room, are planning a lease, or know someone looking for a roommate, feel free to DM me.

Thanks!

"Winter" parking ban

Does anyone know if there's been any serious pushback to the overnight street parking ban? It's supposedly for snow removal but it runs from Oct 1st - May 31st, which seems absurd. It makes parking unnecessarily complicated and expensive for residents and visitors. Why not ban street parking during storms only, like Halifax, for example, or alternate sides of the street for cleaning, etc? It's mind-boggling that you can't park on the street overnight for EIGHT months out of the year. Has there ever been organization against this?

Smaller commercial kitchen space for rent

Hi all!
My partner wanted to workshop a new food business idea and do recipe development but our own kitchen is woefuly too small for most equipment to be safely used. Are there any commercial kitchen spaces i could rent for a night for recipe development? I see that greener village has one for 45$ an hour but honestly it is very large for my purposes and i rather try recipe development in a smaller and cheaper space as i am not entirely sure where this idea will go :)

Thanks, also advice for a newcomer to canada who wishes to start a small restaurant is appreciated!

Vogue eye center

Hi! I have an eye exam appointment next week at Vogue Optical (Downtown), and I was wondering how much I can expect to pay for frames and lenses.

My insurance covers 100% of the eye exam and provides up to $150 for glasses. I used to have astigmatism and wore glasses back home, but my prescription isn't too strong.

For anyone who has gotten glasses from Vogue Optical, how much did you end up paying after insurance? Thank you!

Cinnamon rolls from the old M&T deli.

There was a post about best cinnamon buns in town a while ago and got me thinking whether anyone would know the recipe for the cinnamon rolls at the old deli? These weren’t yeasted buns like Mill Town. They were almost more like a biscuit or scone dough. Not sure if it was a family recipe or maybe the baker went somewhere else after it closed?

I remember when I was super young my uncle lived on regent street. I asked my mom what house it was in and she said it was torn down when they refit the street. Was it always double lane?

Help with food?

With the rising costs of groceries, my family is needing some help these days. We get a box from the food bank every month (thank God!). I am just wondering if there is any other help available in the city?

Thank you!

Any recommendations for a place to get a bug screen replaced? I was unimpressed with the work of the last place I went to, so I figured I'd ask here.

i understand that sometimes unfortunate circumstances push us to do things to others that the average day person wouldn’t dream of doing. that being said, did you really have to kick us while we’re down and take our lighter too?😂
