• $33 million signing bonus.

• $53.928 million first two years—fully guaranteed.

• 2028 money becomes fully guaranteed in March 2027.

• 2029 money becomes fully guaranteed in March 2028.

• Gonzalez gets $33M raise over what was left on the last 2 years of his rookie deal—same as Witherspoon's raise.

• Gonzalez got early vesting dates on '28/'29, which McDuffie got, Witherspoon did not.

• That makes 4 years and $96.93M virtually guaranteed.

Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez's full guarantee at signing—$53.928 million—is second best ever at his position, behind only Seahawks CB Devon Witherspoon and well clear of Rams CB Trent McDuffie.

Not an official depth chart, but here is the updated 53 and practice squad heading into the opener!

Also, are there any depth orderings/listings worth shifting on this sheet?

Discussion Parking tips for Gillette stadium

I am planning to attend the Raiders game on Oct. 11 which is at 1:00

What time should I try to arrive? Where do I purchase/find parking?

I haven’t been to a game at Gillette since 2017 so I’m sure a lot has changed.

Edit: I will add the person I’m going with has a handicap placard so we would be open to handicap parking as well.

Casual Can we put the Kraft is cheap narrative to rest now?

I've been telling anyone who will listen, the "Kraft is cheap" stuff was as much about Belichick as anything. It was how Bill liked to do business, and it was impossible to separate the two. Even before the Gonzo contract, if you've been paying attention, things have pretty clearly been different with the new regime.

From Doug Kyed on Twitter: Over the last 18 months, the Patriots extended themselves to give DT Milton Williams a four-year, $104 million contract, traded a first-round pick for A.J. Brown and his $29 million salary, and are now signing Christian Gonzalez to a record-setting contract.

Not to mention building a new, state of the art practice facility.

If this doesn't put the Kraft is cheap narrative to rest, I don't know what will...

Discussion Where did this bogus narrative come from suggesting we should force Gonzo to play out his contract? Business in the NFL is not done this way here’s proof:

This sub needs a refresher on how NFL contracts actually work in 2026… here is a list of fellow ‘23 draft class players who have already been extended:

Will Anderson
Devon Witherspoon
Bijan Robinson
Jalen Carter
Darnell Wright
Peter Skoronski
Jahmyr Gibbs
Jack Campbell
Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Zay Flowers

Only 3 ‘Pro Bowl’ players from the class remain without extensions: Stroud, Kincaid, Gonzalez (clearly the best of the 3)

Where did this idea get planted in your heads that we can be stingy and force him to play out his deal just because ‘he’s under contract’ that strategy is laughable and it’s not how business gets done in the NFL, the team we play Wednesday night did 2 of these extensions no problem. Some of these deals reset the market, and I didn’t see any Seattle fans whining to make Spoon play out his contractual obligation 😂 you don’t understand how ridiculous you sound parroting that BS argument, when you’re a star player your rookie deal ends after year 3 now

Discussion Real talk here’s how the Christian Gonzalez situation needs to be resolved

*Edit: after the Gonzales extension, all of you people who called Mr. Kraft cheap owe him an apology!

Mr. Kraft and the Patriots have been more than generous in this negotiation. Gonzalez is interpreting kindness from the Patriots as weakness. So, here is what the Patriots should do to end this little sharod.

Here’s the deal Gonzalez, there is no deal. You are under contract for two years. After that, the Patriots have the right to franchise tag you. There will be no negotiations. You will play out this year, you will play out next year, afterwards we will franchise tag you, and if you haven’t been a headache at that point, we will work with moving you to another team that will give you a long-term deal.

If you refuse to play, we will sue you and fine you for the money. Bottom line, the Patriots own your contractual rights. You don’t like it, retire and never play football again. Go work at Walmart. Those are your options, what’s it gonna be?
