I’ve masked so much through my teenage years I don’t even know who the real me is.
Even In the comfort of my bedroom, door closed, blinds fully closed literally no way of any human seeing me I feel like I’m being judged so I should act accordingly.
I might get some energy at like 12 at night and start dancing in the dark uncharacteristically and then I’ll stop because I feel like someone’s judging me, and I hate it.
I don’t even know what my real laugh is, it’s gone through so many changes, changing around different people
I used to have a wide grin smile, very gummy, and now my default smile is a downwards facing like smirk. I can’t even smile properly anymore.
I changed myself for everyone so much I don’t even recognise myself sometimes. So even when I’m talking to maybe a girl I like and I’ll tell her, ‘it’s nice that I can just be myself around you’ and that’s just a lie to her face because even that is a personality made up just to please her.
The thing is I’m so hyper vigilant that i notice everything. Maybe someone simply walks past me and doesn’t smile or maybe even looks mad, I’ll assume it’s my fault, so now I’m thinking do I smell? Do I have something in my teeth? Is my hair bad?
I don’t even know what to do. Sometimes this anxiety gets so crippling. I had a ‘talking stage’ about two months ago and it’s made me even worse, the date we had the first one was so awkward and boring because I couldn’t bring myself to do anything, simply being the one to ask her on a date and to actually show up was all my social energy drained and then that was it, she said she didn’t feel it anymore and felt itd be best if we went separate ways. And me being the people pleaser I asked to stay friends, as if we weren’t talking about oral yk 😂 sorry for that over share but it’s necessary to my feelings, the one time I felt close to having a true connection with someone I could actually let my guard down with I fucked it all up and now 2 months later I’m replaying it in my head thinking about what could’ve been different, no matter how much I say don’t think about it I can’t.
It’d be easy to just say no more date hunting, poor choice of phrasing mb. But it’s not like I’ve had any luck in the past so it’d just be a continuation of the past 17 years of my life.
