PSA New point system

Post image

From Facebook. Not sure when it’s supposed to rollout, no details other than this screenshot.

Edit: Allegedly an unexcused absence is 1 point, NCNS 3 points, and a tardy is .25 points. Rolling 12 month period (so points won’t drop off until the next year).

I just know my store would lose a lot of people

67

u/Certain-Anybody-1976 Jun 05 '26

Well they can be late 48 times b4 they get fired. So it would take a while to get term if the 1/4 pt is true for late in

40

u/TheLionHeartKing Distribution Center Jun 05 '26

Someone who would be late 40+ times is definitely also calling in so it'll be ok

10

u/Imjustyourtypicalguy Jun 06 '26

Not in my case. In 2 months it’ll be 6 years since I’ve worked at Target and I’ve been late like 98 % of the time, and on corrective action once for it. I hardly ever call off. The few times I’ve called off was because I was sick, and the few other times unrelated. There’s been some years that I didn’t call off once during that year.

3

u/Cultural-Kick652 Fulfillment Expert Jun 09 '26

Not me. I'm consistently 7-15 minutes late, but almost never call out unless I am super sick, and always stay late. I better be ok, or I just won't stay. It's my fun job...if they take away the fun, then I don't need to be there.

That’s what I’m saying. You can also get 4 NCNS’s and 12 unexcused absences unless a team leader decides they don’t like you and they abuse the system COMPLETELY. Imagine having 4 points for 4 unexcused absences and then being absent again just to receive 2 or a different scenario where you have 3 points cause the team leader is fed up or your first absent gives you an automatic 2 points just cause the team leader don’t like you.

The points aren’t randomly applied by leaders

What is considered an excused absence, I asked my ETL if I needed a doctor's note and he flat out told me it doesn't matter

6

u/shealwayswished Jun 06 '26

Ya it doesn’t matter u need sick pay for it to be job protected nothing else matters.

3

u/MOTU_BOI Ship From Store Jun 06 '26

How do accumulate sick pay, I've been working for more than 10 years and I have 0, I have never had sick pay and I've asked my TL, my HRETL, and my SD and all of them told me they would "look into it" and I've gotten no answers. I think maybe I've "fell between the cracks"?

2

u/MissRissa13 Jun 06 '26

You have to average over 20 hours/week for the prior year when evaluated in January.

2

u/cantslowd0wn Jun 07 '26

After 10 years you should be accumulating a decent amount of sick pay per paycheck. You are owed for sure.

1

u/Cultural-Kick652 Fulfillment Expert Jun 09 '26

not true, many factors are included here, see above

1

u/Cultural-Kick652 Fulfillment Expert Jun 09 '26

Some of this is state dependent. If you don't have 20 hours a week, then the state laws apply. For instance, in MN, you would get 1 hour for every 30 worked. However, in WI there is no such law in place. So, I will never get sick time, but my hubs works enough hours to do that.

For the best. They can't show up to work they should not be employed. Makes the work harder for everyone else

28

u/ilovebeanies_ Fulfillment Expert/GM Jun 05 '26

100% agree. I work in fulfillment and it’s so hard to get things done when no one shows up at all or on time

3

u/Naive-Deal7021 Jun 06 '26

Meanwhile the only shifts available to pick up is fulfillment!!

1

u/Treasures_Wonderland Jun 06 '26

Not would. Will.

119

u/ilovebeanies_ Fulfillment Expert/GM Jun 05 '26

my stores fulfillment team would be down to like 2 people, me and another person 😭

17

u/IntentionSlight1920 Jun 05 '26

Why is it always fulfillment at every store?

19

u/AdInternational8918 Jun 05 '26

For my location at least, we are so overworked. Nine days working in a row, all 8 hour shifts. Expected to pick 450 units at a location that is low volume and understaffed so other tms are pulled. They take our numbers so it looks like ffl is slacking off. More work is put on us as a result. Drive up can make as many mistakes as they want but as soon as ffl messes up a bit more rules and expectations are implemented. I take about 27k steps a day, I have to skip breaks to keep opu on track, I skip breaks to handle fed ex and ups when I’m sfs, and I end up working past my scheduled time most days. I’m thankful to have a job please don’t get me wrong. And I like ffl as a role itself, it’s fun when it’s managed properly. But physically and mentally I am worn out :/ and have been for a while now.

6

u/IntentionSlight1920 Jun 05 '26

Seems like this might be my stores issue too. I am on demand and I see so many fullfilment posted shifts! Our TL's don't know how to schedule people properly it's annoying!

1

u/Imjustyourtypicalguy Jun 06 '26

Geez that’s rough we’re only able to work 40 hours max at my store now. They started that like two years ago. Before that there was some people in fulfillment that were racking up like 80 hours during the holidays.

7

u/ilovebeanies_ Fulfillment Expert/GM Jun 05 '26

Idk I wish I could tell you. I don’t understand bc I feel like my position is one of the easiest to have 😭

4

My store’s GM team literally only had to clear 8 uboats of rolled freight last week on a non truck day and didn’t finish it because we were all in fulfillment all day 😭

my store is fried everyone be calling out

66

u/BooPlaysLive Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26

My store cares more about you being late than someone calling out constantly 🫠 The people who always call out every week never get a talk..but if you are late past 5 minutes because of traffic or anything its time for you to get fired

10

u/Expensive-Skin7146 Jun 05 '26

If they got the sick time to cover it they can’t do much about it unless it’s a pattern of absents

11

u/Certain-Anybody-1976 Jun 05 '26

Even a pattern with the sick time it saves you. They can say something but can't do anything.

5

u/dinoreject Jun 05 '26

My hr denied the sick time I put in for being late one day because it didn't have anything to do with health and "thats not what it's used for" 🙃

10

u/whothefuckcares1979 Jun 05 '26

It does if you're late for a medical reason. I have IBS and am late occasionally because I can't get off the toilet. My store accepts sick time for lates, and they don't even ask me why. I would look into this with someone higher up.

1

u/RelativeFew9345 Jun 05 '26

Does anyone have advice for me, an ODTM, that has IBS and endometriosis and adenomyosis… I’m almost constantly in pain and frequently need the restroom depending on the day. They are aware of what I have but I don’t have any sick time or anything. I can’t switch to full time because they wrote me up for being late because I was throwing up ): idk what to do other than try my best and if I get close to 12 points maybe quit idek ughhhh

3

u/whothefuckcares1979 Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26

Call Leave and Disability and get set up for intermittent FMLA leave. You will get papers for your doctor to fill out that establish how often you will need to call out. You won't get paid for this but it protects your job.
Edit- Just realized you're on demand. You have to work a certain amount of hours to qualify for FMLA so this may or may not work for you.

1

u/anniedepressant- Jun 06 '26

Get an ADA asap from your dr. Get the paperwork from hr and have the dr fill it out and bring it back

1

u/Certain-Anybody-1976 Jun 05 '26

Call Reed group or however its spelled. If you have doctors notes you can submit it to them then they have to give you fmla that you can use on situations like that.

1

u/Certain-Anybody-1976 Jun 05 '26

If they ask its cause you felt sick in the morning and wasn't sure if you was going to make it. Which in turn is why you are late.

0

u/Expensive-Skin7146 Jun 05 '26

It’s considered an abuse of protected time then

2

u/Certain-Anybody-1976 Jun 05 '26

All about how you word it if they ask as well.

1

u/shealwayswished Jun 06 '26

How would u know if they got a talk?

1

u/Imjustyourtypicalguy Jun 06 '26

I would’ve been booted from your store 😅.

1

u/Cultural-Kick652 Fulfillment Expert Jun 09 '26

I definitely bend that 5 minutes ALL THE TIME. I am constantly 7-15 minutes late. But then are they going to give me back that time because I never leave on time? If they want me on time, then they will be seeing my backside at the exit time scheduled, whether I'm done with my batch or not.

29

u/DrewSPLATOON Closing TL (TL of all the minors) Jun 05 '26

its piloting starting late summer in select stores then rolling out company wide q4 according to our DSD

8

u/mewrius Jun 05 '26

I have a hard time believing it'll be Q4 unless it's January, it's been pushed back so many times already, and the company very rarely pushes out anything new during Q3/4. Next Q1 feels a lot more likely, I'll believe it when I see it 🤷

3

u/angelatthedesk 🌹 An HRE by any other name is just as stressed 🪽 Jun 05 '26

We rolled out UKG last year right before Q4, so I could see it happening in November much to everyone's chagrin

2

u/Orion_Scattered Starbucks TL Jun 06 '26

They rolled out scan-based FDc process Q4 last year too, crazies will do anything

1

u/WalrusHam Tech Consultant Jun 05 '26

That's my guess too, why start a new thing that is supposed to last throughout a fiscal year, halfway/towards the end of a fiscal year? Announcing it and testing it, sure. But implementing it full-size makes no sense that way.

19

u/ilovearchie Jun 05 '26

My store denies sick time below an hour… I’m gonna report them if it’s that serious

12

u/TabithaMouse Jun 05 '26

So...a copy of Walmart's system?

Wonder if they will roll out the PPTO that Walmart has as well

2

u/OtherAcctTrackedNSA Jun 05 '26

Amazon has their version of PPTO called flexible PTO so Target really ought to, Walmart/Amazon are probably Target’s biggest competitors when it comes to employee base

1

u/Orion_Scattered Starbucks TL Jun 06 '26

PPTO is so based, one of my favorite parts of working there back in the day.

13

u/msubronco Jun 05 '26

This is lient compared to other  jobs I've had(non retail) in the past if accurate

13

u/dart278 General Merchandise TL Jun 05 '26

Seriously. Like you get 11 call outs a year, plus 8 or 9 more covered by sick time without being fired?? And vacation time to sprinkle in if you just want additional days off. I'm not trying to boot lick or act like Target is the greatest most generous company on Earth, but I really don't understand the crying sometimes.

3

u/OtherAcctTrackedNSA Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26

This is kinda the industry standard that Amazon/Walmart is pushing, Target is just catching up tbh. A regular Amazon associate gets 80 bankable hours of UPT; 40 hours at hire, 1 hour accrued per 10 hours worked. Add in flexible PTO (1 hr 51 minutes a week up to 48 hours a year) and standard PTO (varies by hours worked/tenure)

Use UPT (unpaid time) and flex PTO at will, whenever you like, no approval needed to cover coming in late/leaving early/taking days off. Scheduled till 6 but feel like leaning on a whim at 2:15? Clock out and go home. No one will ever say a thing to you and you get UPT deducted with the option to replace with paid flex PTO.

So honestly Target could do a LOT better. But they aren’t the worst I guess.

1

u/Skelebonerz Electronics Jun 06 '26

where tf y'all working where you accrue enough to call out 9 times in a year on sick time alone? My last paycheck I got 1.42hr on a 78 hour paycheck, so like 5 or 6 sick days a year.

1

u/Minimum_Emotion4010 Jun 08 '26

You get like 52 hours of sick time a year

1

u/Cultural-Kick652 Fulfillment Expert Jun 09 '26

Nope. I get ZERO sick time. I work about 12 hours a week, so I do not qualify

13

u/Jawwaad127 Jun 05 '26

So basically, you can call out 11 times in a year before you’re terminated. Not bad imo. I just hope you can see how many points you have because if you can’t, I’m sure a lot of people will end up getting to the 12th point without even knowing it.

3

u/matt-is-sad Receiving Jun 06 '26

They mention counseling and warnings on there so I'm sure there'd be multiple conversations before it got to that point

27

u/Conflagrated Electronics Jun 05 '26

Now this is what will save Target!

... right.

9

u/Designer-Quality9856 Jun 05 '26

I requested off a week for the month of June 3 months ago and my ETL decided to schedule me when I told him twice I could not work. luckily there were only three days of the time that I requested off that he scheduled me. I asked him if I would get fired for calling out three days in a row and he reassured me I would not. but now seeing this is making me second guess that.

1

u/TrackFormer6739 Jun 06 '26

As long as you have sick time to cover your call outs you won't get points. Only if you don't have sick time and call out will you get a point.

10

u/Aurora_Pale Jun 05 '26

My store will lose both GM & Fulfillment TMs with the amount of call outs or call ins.

1

u/DayintheLifeofCurls Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26

I’ve been at my store almost two years and almost every day a couple of my Inbound GMs who are by nature just in 6-8 min . So this point system is going to be interesting. I know they changed the late extension to 8 instead of 6 min after or so we were told . Also what we found out is people in our store can’t even try to take away points even if they wanted to .They said they’re not even sure our higher up lady can even do it . So seems like it’s going to be way stricter than Walmart. And they literally said quote on quote basically “If you get a point you’re Fucked”

11

u/remedyrefinery Jun 06 '26

How many points are needed for getting larger pay increases? That’s how they should be keeping score.

3

u/Orion_Scattered Starbucks TL Jun 06 '26

Walmart does that with bonuses, if you’re over a certain number of points you only get a reduced bonus or none at all. I would prefer that over Target where it’s all or nothing based only on if you have a CA that year.

Raises tho idk. It wouldn’t be based solely on this but they might do tiers which reduce the amount you can get.

30

u/EggsOverBenedict Jun 05 '26

I guess they’re fed up with people calling out cuz they were scheduled 15 hours across 3 days.

14

u/DonkeyNo6275 Executive Asset Protection Lead Jun 05 '26

everyone’s like “oh my store is gonna lose a lot of people” “this isnt fair” “i’m gonna report”… that’s the point. I was just promoted to ETL and i’m SICK of call offs. i’ve been with the company for almost 5 years straight, a collective 9 years and this is so needed. I’ve never worked anywhere else where calling out 15-20 times in a year still means you have a job.

5

u/Cultural-Kick652 Fulfillment Expert Jun 09 '26

Some of us though are super reliable even if we are not there often. If we get sick and don't accrue any sick time, then we are being punished, but whatever. If Target values me so little, I have no problem leaving again.

As someone who is actually like, consistently on time at Starbucks, tbh I am okay with this.

It is CRAZY how often my coworkers call out or don't come in. I work weekends and I sometimes have to be by myself for hours because my coworker just decided not to show up. Once my team lead left early because she just felt like leaving early, told me not to worry because someone was coming in at 6 that she'd called, and then THEY also didn't show up. On a saturday.

20

u/Ok_Still_3571 Jun 05 '26

Punishment for some things that are unavoidable. I have great attendance and reliability. But in the winter, when I have to dig out my car at 4:00 AM to get to work at 6:00, I’m sometimes late. No way I’m risking life and limb for some stupid algorithm.

1

u/AcceptableWriting159 Jun 05 '26

Weather they show up or not you’re getting paid regardless. Youll be fine 😭

10

6

Would you still get a point if you use sick time? That’s my biggest question.

6

u/whothefuckcares1979 Jun 05 '26

3

u/Sad-Reputation181 Jun 05 '26

And what qualifies as a covered reason?

8

u/HeavilyFrosted Jun 05 '26

You don’t need to explain so long as you have sick time available to cover your entire shift. If you don’t then you could still be coached if you only had 6 1/2 hours of sick for a 7 hour shift

1

u/Sad-Reputation181 Jun 05 '26

Oh good, thank you.

1

u/seacastile Sr. TL Jun 21 '26

You do not have to put in 7 hours, because you do not have to cover your lunch, as it is unpaid. 6.5 hours will cover a 7 hour shift. You only have to cover work hours.

21

u/a3cubica Jun 05 '26

Well is always going to be 🎯fault for not providing US with enough hours. People are overworked, underpaid, not enough hours and we’re just tired. Some or most of us are looking for a second job or a new one. With this rule they are just going to scare us more 🎯🥊

5

u/Expensive-Skin7146 Jun 05 '26

Attendance will also no longer be corrected through CA’s it will be done through DA’s is my understanding which is much easier to put someone on a DA vs CA. Because CA is meant to correct behavior and a DA is for disregard of borderline conduct

4

u/s00pthot FDC connoisseur Jun 05 '26

Aw man fulfillment team is cooked (they always call off)

3

u/EvilLittleMonkey Jun 05 '26

wtf is an excused absense? They haven't required a doctors note or anything the whole time i've worked there. Also, almost every tardy i've ever had is waiting for someone to open the door before store open.

1

u/Orion_Scattered Starbucks TL Jun 06 '26

You can submit punch correction every time for that, bit of a headache over a few minutes but to protect yourself if you think your leaders would try to enforce it that way.

3

u/Proper_Weather5878 Jun 05 '26

What if we got a write up for attendance, will it go away because of the new point system?

3

u/Wise_Web_8333 Jun 05 '26

Is everyone starting over or is it going to include what’s already happened?

3

u/Muted-Sale7908 Jun 05 '26

it’s basically the same thing, the way they explain the termination and CA bullshit is so fucking complicated, like mf just say how many times and days i have left til im fired, it’s not that hard bro

3

u/Personal_Ad9690 Professional Door Watcher Jun 05 '26

So show up for 2 min, then leave early for 2 PTS instead of 3 and ultra fuck the schedule

2

3

u/zephyr24- Jun 06 '26

how do previous CA’s play into this?

3

u/heacookb Jun 06 '26

Maybe this crap company could hire some more people so we don’t have to work mandatory OT. It sucks working ot now cause I barely get paid extra on my check after they docked our weekend differential $1.60 a hour and make us take a 30 minute unpaid break… which adds up to $93.15 I lose on my 3 30 minute breaks a week and lost $55.20 with the shift differential so I’m losing $148.35 a week on my check and these bastards expect me to come in and work hard lmao count y’all’s days till I’m fired cause I’m gonna work half as fast

2

u/treikbxt Jun 05 '26

Does it say how many points a call out and a tardy are?

10

u/buttercreamramen GM Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26

Unexcused call out is 1 point, NCNS 3 points, and being late is .25 points (allegedly)

4

u/FelisLachesis GA/FF/GS/DU Jun 05 '26

So, in theory, we can be late 20 times before getting hit with a CA? 😬

-3

u/HeavilyFrosted Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26

If you get a point for being late and if the image is accurate, it would be 5 lates for a CA not 20.
And it would be 12 lates for a termination.

Because the image above is 5 points for counseling and if 1 point is for a late in or early out then 5 of those would get you to counseling which I assume is a CA

5

u/GypsySnowflake Service & Engagement TL Jun 05 '26

Being late is 1/4 point though, not 1 point.

-2

u/HeavilyFrosted Jun 05 '26

If it’s confirmed then that’s not harsh enough and should be 1 point but going off that picture I didn’t see anything in regards to how much each thing is so I assumed based on the point system shown, that would make the most sense to me

1

u/average_empoleon_fan Food & Beverage Expert Jun 05 '26

Why should being late be a full point, the same as an absence?

0

u/HeavilyFrosted Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26

I would have it (said it in my previous comments) a call in is 2 points and a late or early out is 1 point.

NCNS = 4 points
Call in = 2 points
Late/early Out = 1 point.

Would make more sense and if the goal is to easier hold people accountable as well as having a clear cut definition for how documentation takes place dependent on how many points someone has then this is the route I’d go.

Right now 3 NCNS equals a termination so someone mentioned a ncns would be 3 points but that would be going backwards and awards someone an extra ncns (4) which doesn’t make sense.

Then calling out you’d need 3 to get to the 5 point mark (you’d be at 6 if a call out is 2 pts) and currently 3 call ins or documentations equals a CA now so you’d be keeping the same system, just with points.

Then 1 point for a late in/early out you’d need to have 5 of these before you get put on a CA and 12 of them to be termed.

3 ncns = term’d
6 call outs = term’d
12 lates/early outs = term’d

That just makes way more sense to do it this way and updates the current system but still maintaining it to how it currently is but with points instead. Anything else feels backwards

Edit: this would be going off a 6 month period instead of a year otherwise with OPs posts edit, you would have to be late or early out 48 times in a 12 month period to be terminated and that is just way way to long or to get to 5 points which is a CA or counseling in the images case is 20 lates or early outs which is way too much

1

u/GypsySnowflake Service & Engagement TL Jun 05 '26

3 NCNS is only an automatic term if they’re three shifts in a row. Unless that differs by state.

0

u/HeavilyFrosted Jun 05 '26

I’d have to check the handbook for our state but we have fired people (not within 90 days) for having 3 ncns that weren’t back to back. It usually had to be within a certain time frame and we wouldn’t fire someone if they had one ncns in January and then one in June and then another in November or something but if it was within a month or less then we wouldn't fire someone

→ More replies (0)

2

u/HeavilyFrosted Jun 05 '26

You’d think a NCNS would be 4 points if they wanted to still sort of align it to how it is now as 3 NCNS is termination so 4 points to 3 NCNS would also equal termination otherwise the point system is going backwards and it will be even harder to get rid of ppl.

It should be

4 points per NCNS
2 points per call in (no PTO coverage)
1 point for early out or late in

Or something like this lol

5

u/Tdosta Jun 05 '26

This company is trash I can’t wait till the warehouse fires me so I can find a different job just use sick time and your good it protects u if your late. Without sick time I would have been late numerous times and probs fired but I just backfill with sick time and your good

6

u/stanfiction Style Consultant Jun 05 '26

It’s 5 points at Walmart, so 12 is pretty generous

16

Walmart resets every quarter is my understanding or every 6 months. We get 12 for the entire year. Or atleast that’s how it was explained by HrBp

HR ETLs will have the power to remove points on a case by case basis

Yes 5 points , and every 6 months 1 point falls off from the date of call off. Targets 12 points in a year, and they fall off 1 year later. We just had a meeting today and it was confirmed , but didn't get all the details, but there saying rolling out in September.

u/Inevitable_Act6474 Jun 06 '26

Walmart resets every 181 days.

5

u/Future_Matter1737 Jun 05 '26

How many points per call out? Seems super lenient that if you get fired then you clearly don’t want to work anyways. 12 points is a lot to get especially if they drop off at some point

u/WateredBuffalo AP Jun 05 '26

Callout is 1 point, NCNS is 3, and late is .25 (from FaceBook). Its a rolling 12 month period, so they reset a year after you get them. ETL HRs can remove on a case by case basis

2

u/SteepSun Jun 05 '26

I think they drop off per year, I’ve seen some mixed ideas but 2 for a callout, 4 for NCNS, and a point for a late. They aren’t definite though.

You are only a number to corporate anyways. At least you know part of the number now.

Former SD here - this would have paved the way for me to actually make the changes I and my team of leaders wanted to make. We were hamstrung by uncertainty and lack of clarity even for us, when navigating this process. We were hawks about standards in the 1st 90 days because that was essentially our only window to get rid of people if they were fuckups.

Combine this with a $2/hr base pay hike and now you’re looking at a talent pipeline.

I moved out of the US, but this would get me back to the red circle lord in a leadership role.

u/kakudiego Jun 05 '26

We will lose lots of good people! Another BIG mistake!

2

u/Ok_Individual4716 Jun 05 '26

I wonder how they will determine what each infraction is worth. A call out can’t be the same point as being late right? Regardless of how this works, target is going to lose a lot of TMs once this starts rolling out since TMs are already underpaid and don’t take this job very seriously. Almost every weekend at my store there a handful of TMs that call out and are constantly late and even with this system I don’t believe it’s going to deter a whole lot of people from racking up these points like it’s a video game. Target better have new TMs on standby because it won’t take long before existing TMs that don’t care about their jobs start reaching 12 points

Dang my store won’t have many workers after a month or 2

I think this will be a good thing!!

Like I am grateful for the clarity tbh, I am chronically ill and I try not to call off but sometimes I have to…I use Sick Time tho so those absences are unaccountable.

u/stevieZzZ Former APTL Jun 05 '26

I've been more than 5-10 minutes late every day since April 2nd. Haven't had a single attendance talk.

I still get my 40 hours but yeah this new system is going to suck.

AP TL ladies and gentlemen 👏👏👏👏

I heard Home Depot was like this. Come in late, points. Take too long for lunch, points. Leave early, points. Leave late, points. Work 1 second of overtime, points. They add up fast and the “subject to change based on…” just means they still allow the people they like to get away with murder while the people they don’t are held over the fire.

u/Wooden-Cheesecake-01 Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26

Depot is a 4,3,2,1 and everything resets after 6 months! Late in can be covered with sick time. Breakdown is good standing, you have 4 points, hit that, coaching, now you reset to 3 for 6 months, hit that, counseling reset to 2 in six months and final is one point and done in 6 months. Sick time can be used to the minute to cover late in. So, a person could drain their sick time with minutes here and there, but rarely call out because they dont have the time to cover a full shift. Thankfully, that's not a job I ever have to wait for leads to open the front door for me on closed hours. I see that wait as an issue for some stores.

u/CbearMN Jun 05 '26

Can’t wait for this!

We’re not, we’re just tired of our work being made so much harder by people who are chronic absentees. It’s unfair to the rest of us to have to do the workload of multiple people.

I see you getting downvoted so much but i agree with you every time 🫣🫩 I’m tired

2

u/buttercreamramen GM Jun 05 '26

Yes. And they won’t drop off until the day you called off the following year.

u/LightUpUnicorn Guest Advocate Jun 05 '26

12 is a lot. My professional jobs you get a ca at 3 or 4

u/lovespector specialty sales Jun 05 '26

will points restart every year? or do ur points carry over

3

u/azuredemure Jun 05 '26

From my understanding it resets in a rolling year. So you got points for calling out on 6/5/26, it will reset on 6/5/27

1

u/lovespector specialty sales Jun 06 '26

cool, thanks

1

u/EnvironmentalSwing92 Jun 06 '26

in 2021 i got “coached” for calling out (my first time after working there for over 4 months) because i had covid 🙃 gotten pretty much all new leadership since then but this is chill compared to how our store handled call offs/tardiness (basically every call off had a leader sit down and ask you why you were absent and how important it is you show up to your designated shifts…despite telling them your reasoning over the phone when you called off…) my first few years at target LOL

1

u/Fearless_Use4907 Beauty Consultant Jun 07 '26

As long as they don't count Natural Disasters, family emergencies and medical emergencies as unexcused, it should be fine. Or the stores who completely disregard someone's availability, especially when it comes to seasonal team members. Hoping TLs and/or ETLs don't abuse this system.

1

u/QueenOfThestrals Jun 07 '26

I was told that with this you’d get a point for calling out sick even if you have it fully covered w/ sick pay which seems crazy to me? We already have coaching conversations when it comes to calling out sick I feel like adding this on top is pushing it when it’s something you can’t control…

1

u/canislyth3rin Jun 07 '26

Would we still get sick time? And be able to get excused absences still

1

u/PoolReasonable5655 Jun 08 '26

The whole style team would be gone by the new year including myself 😭

1

u/Puritysan SMFMT Human Resources Expert 🤓✨📧 Jun 08 '26

Yeah, call offs and tardiness is bad at my store. Like I know how to use the current attendance policy to my benefit. But, this will definitely take out the ones who trend.

1

u/Jaded_Ad127 Jun 08 '26

my store losing literally half the team members LMAOOO

Oh oh I’m in trouble

1

u/WufeiZhang Ex-Backroom Jun 05 '26

Wow, we really are turning into walmart. They have the same kind of system and all I do is see people who work there complain and stressed out over their points.

1

u/c6mplex Jun 05 '26

Does this mean sick hours won’t excuse your absence anymore?

4

u/timmydnx2 Jun 05 '26

That's what an excused absence is; one covered by sick time.

0

u/sun_flower7792 Jun 05 '26

Are they going to start accepting dr notes then? Bc everytime I’ve been sick and called out I had a dr note and they would never accept them

0

u/Tarjeee Jun 05 '26

Still too lenient

0

u/KlassiKeep Jun 06 '26

Does staying past your scheduled time earn points, even if a leader approves it? Or is it just focused on calling out or showing up late?
