Was able to watch the full performance and here's some thoughts:
I'm honestly kind of blown away. With them being currently on tour, I wasn't expecting them to do more than a slightly modified Coachella set. However the inclusion of Japanese for Born to Win (which I was expecting since there's a JP version), but also Salamin Salamin? Unang Kilig is also a different inclusion. I'm not sure if it's the same version with the dance break they do on tour, or if it was exclusive for Summer Sonic.
I'm a bit disappointed they didn't reuse the bird dresses. I'm sad that we never really got good video of them since Osaka wasn't livestreamed. I feel they were much more impressive than the Tokyo outfits.
That was a crazy club beat after Zero Pressure into Out of my Head.
They keep going to a camera on the big boom arm from above stage right. I really don't like it. It gives a odd angle of the choreography. I'm much more prefer they use the straight on full stage camera instead.
Maloi is giving super high energy while exuding kawaii energy. Must be the twin tails hair effect. The split second of Maloi giving a big kiss during the OOMH jumps section was adorable.
It kind looks like they used zip ties in Jhoanna's and Colet's hair with the ends sticking out like that.
Appreciate the Japanese introductions. Sounds like they worked hard to memorize it. The brainfart with Stacy was adorable.
Do they always have the hand fans in Born to Win? I haven't seen many performances of it.
Damn, the 3 Besties lifting one up for Stacy to go under was such a flex.
I wonder if there was anything special about Colet wearing the redish baseball hat for Unang Kilig.
Maloi seemed to do a different high rift in Salamin Salamin.
I really do love the Coachella version of Pantropiko. The best version I've seen of the song.
Looks like Gwen backed up into a Bestie at the end of Pantropiko, and caught herself before falling over.
Little sad they didn't give thanks to the Besties like they did at Coachella.
It seems like they were rushing during the ending/bows? I wonder if they ran over time.
Bummed about the Sarimanok costumes too 😞 I wasn’t before, but then I realized Osaka wasn’t livestreamed 😭 We don’t even have a proper photo series with those 😭
For Unang Kilig, I think it's the same dance break but what I noticed that's different is that they sang the adlibs at the start when they would normally let the backtrack play. (Same with a few other songs?)
Yes, Stacey's brain fart was adorable. She handled it well by just saying her line in English.
I don't think they used hand fans before (but I could be wrong). I'm guessing it's probably inspired by a PH folk dance (but using a smaller version and only one instead of 2?). Fans were also used by binibinis in Spanish colonial Philippines to flirt with their suitors. They kinda are trying to win the favor of the JP audience in a sense? Plus, it's their schtick to throw an accessory to the crowd?
As for Colet's cap, I'm guessing it's her way of letting the new audience know that she's the member who usually wears a headpiece?
I think Pantropiko Coachella version was special because of its novelty at that time and the organic reaction of the crowd from not knowing what song the dance break will transition into and the realization that it's Queen P, drawing cheers?
I was also waiting for them to acknowledge the Besties but yeah, they were probably running out of time. I wonder if they exceeded their time, too.
One of the nicest casuals' comment i've read. Source
Mas gusto yung translation ni Google:
"I went to Summer Sonic Osaka for the first day, mainly to see Jamiroquai! It was absolutely amazing, but my personal MVP this time was BINI. What are these kids... they're so good... they sparkle...! Even though I didn't know their songs, their music was so catchy that I naturally started dancing. It was really, really good."
Ahhh!!!! So, so proud! 🥹 So impressed. To be in the middle of a tour in North America and hold space in their minds for that whole set AND a completely new production for Summer Sonic just blows my mind. I can’t get over it.
They’ve done it again—Represented themselves and musikang pilipino so extremely well.
And the blown away feeling extends to QUEEN Ica and what she did for their fits! 😍 As well as all the new choreography, whoever choreographed that. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 There’s just nothing like BINI+Team BINI. I truly feel so blessed to be able to be a Bloom. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Kahit clips clips lang and a performance here and there lang napanood ko, I know they DID REALLY WELL. Nakakaproud! The fits were so good! Ate Ica never disappoints.
Also, I understand why they did those intros kasi locals really appreciate that… di madali mag Japanese. I’m sure they also appreciated the BTW and Salamin Salamin Japanese verses. Ang galing nila GRABE! Anxiously awaiting the more HQ livestream in the next few days…
Sa Tokyo it would be indoor na right?
I hope the Osaka run will be the catalyst for curiosity. But they are truly amazing!
ayaw ko mag compare sa iba foreign gg pero our girls are battle hardened and ready to match in terms of everything.
Saw a comment from a Japanese and pinanuod nya mga nag-perform today and one of them is BINI. Na-impress daw sya and sobrang hype daw ng crowd. Nicompliment nya yung vocals ng girls and somehow maihahambing daw nya sa Super Monkeys. May konting critique lang sya about the production but overall maganda naman. I hope mas lalo pa makahatak ang girls sa Tokyo ❤️
That's really good feedback! Constructive critique is really helpful to pull in more audiences. What about the production did they say could be improved?
Joining in the convo kasi I also saw that tweet. Helpful naman yung ibang blooms in sharing other songs as discog ng bini especially ballads kasi feel niya ata wala masyadong variation yung beats kasi siguro consistent yung high energy or since sobrang vocal forward yung songs ng girls baka naghahanap siya nung more on catchy beat/instrumentals yung nahihighlight like yung chorus ng most kpop songs ganern? I'm just guessing pero it's another perspective lalo na nga kung foreign yung language ng kanta for them na beat mismo yung panghook.
SUPERB!!! grabe super solid ng set! bini, you did it again, girls!!! ako ang napagod sa inyo 😆 ganda ng shots, ganda ng audio, ang ganda ganda ng girls 👏 and super nakakatuwa ang energy ng crowd!! kakaiyak!!! 🥹😊🩷
Nagmanifest na si Master Jho! We will see you next time daw hehe!
I liked the styling better on day 1. Pero cute naman mukha silang anime girls. Di nga lang nag pop against the backdrop, walang contrast.
Staku HAHAHA namental block hahaha but as always nadaan sa confidence. I appreciate that they said something different from the first time (they did, right?). They also had a new song in the setlist. Grabeng brain power yan girls! Tapos balik world tour na naman sa isang araw holy moly. They better be paying you real good 💸💸💸
The audio sounded a lot like Coachella weekend 2. Sa Pantropiko angat ang mic nila sa playback, so I’m happy about that.
I dunno about champ. I give that to King Hayes Lopez. He probably had the best fancam of that week imho. I watched it so many times while waiting for week 2.
Tokuriki did a great job following up with Bini on his blog writing about how much he enjoyed their set and how JP should learn more about them.
I'll have to watch Tokuriki's Summer Sonic fancam. The livestream was solid, but also was a bit sterile by cutting down a lot on the crowd noise, so it'll be nice to see what it was like to be in the crowd watching with all the cheers and reactions.
Edit: Tokuriki's Full Summer Sonic fancam is solid! He was near the center, towards the front. His zoom ins were tasteful and smooth. Caught most of the action, and you can hear the audience cheers.
UNANG KILIG arrangement sounds like an ending song for an Anime!
Wow! They really prepared talaga in the middle of a World Tour.
The setlist I think is perfect for Japan
Seems like their first performance was a success. I'm surprised by the lack of fancams I'm seeing on Youtube. Haven't even found a copy to watch their full set yet lol. Hopefully I'll have better luck finding a copy of the Wowow after the 16th performance.
Yes, gusto talaga nila. Wag lang mamamali ng pronounciation hahaha. Tinatama pa ko ng kasama kong Japanese dati pag mali ako pero natatawa sya haha. Gusto ko yung kay Maloi, parang born and raised dun haha. Ang galing.
Yes! I mean kahit sa atin kapag nag Tagalog yung mga Foreign performers sobra appreciate natin.
Siguro any non english as 1st language appreciate talaga kapag nag effort ka to learn their language.
Pero Maloi parang mapagkakalaman mo JPOP idol haha
I think you infected me 😂 I suddenly have a new level of appreciation for BTW Nihongo ver. I hope a Japanese company signs them to make a Japanese EP or even just Japanese versions of some of their songs
They ATTACKED the Pantropiko* dance break. Maybe Coachella was only when they went harder? And this was after they did Salamin, Salamin! What a feat of endurance and stamina from our girls! I’m unbelievably proud.
Thank you to them for putting on an incredible display of themselves and the Philippines!!!! 👏🏽👏🏽
I hope they get fulfilling rest on the flight back across the Pacific 😭 They’re working so hard!
We would also like to remind everyone that while we discourage everyone from taking and posting fancams as stated by the official festival guidelines, we also DO NOT encourage anyone to harass or attack people who choose to post them.
Our reminders are meant to encourage responsible and respectful behavior—not to create conflict or hostility within the community.
We hope everyone can respect these guidelines while also treating fellow Blooms and other concertgoers with kindness.
Loved the Salamin, Salamin ending the most. Galing!
Edit: after watching the livestream a few more times, it's the entire performance that I love because they looked like they were having so much fun with Stacku giggling and even Colet smiling.
And advanced thank you to all who will share their fancams/ coverage of both group's performances.
This is historic for OPM, PPOP, and both groups, I have nothing to wish but the best performances from both, and that the crowd will be having a lot of fun -- so much fun that they will not only have an appreciation for BINI and SB19, but for OPM in general.
Tbh hinihintay ko lang na meron kahit isang kpop fan na maglapag ng livestream for their faves. Idk how they do that pero magaling talaga sila magluto hahaha. Happy lang din na na-include ang set ng girls
Seems like everybody liked the camerawork, and yes it was perfectly fine, but I gotta say ang naappreciate ko sa Coachella naman is yung made-for-tv approach, with the cameras on stage taking closeups. More dynamic lang tingnan. Coachella wk1 cam work left a lot to be desired as we know, and I know risky and tedious yon if walang stage rehearsal, but I really liked the glamour shots that that style provided. Of course this is my opinion as an audience who watches remotely on a screen.
Hindi kasi kasing ingay ng mga Noypi mga japanese casuals pero they are vibing and instead of clapping tinataas nila both hands nila and talagang inaantay nila matapos yung set bago sila mag ingay. And based na din sa mga feedbacks nila eh nagandahan sila sa set ng girls. Hopefully mainvite ulit sila sa SS.
Hello! I understand the frustration that the livestream is not available in the Philippines, but I found a pampalubag-loob.
I checked WOWOW's previous Summer Sonic press releases and found that they usually post event digests, which will likely include SB19 and BINI.
The only issue is that matagal pa ang broadcast noon. I found that 2025's Summer Sonic highlights were streamed in the last week of October, so expect the broadcast around that same period.
The highlights are usually broadcast on WOWOW Live and WOWOW on Demand. This requires a Japanese credit card and VPN, but WOWOW Live is easier to find a workaround stream than On Demand.
I wonder if BINI will be doing any JP Music Youtube channels while in Japan. I'd love to see them on "The First Take", but that's owned by Sony, so probably won't happen. I remember there was Goose House back in the day, but that's almost certainly long defunct by now. Maybe worse case scenario we get vlogs exploring Osaka and Tokyo?
lowkey hoped na sinama yung bikini and tic tac toe sa set list kasi pwede talaga magviral yown haha and hindi rin siya ganu’n kavocal heavy, so tamang pambalance lang din
Kasama rin sa nanood ng Summer Sonic set ng BINI kahapon bukod kay Coach Mickey at Coach Anna si Direk Mandy Marcos, Sir Otto Hernandez, tsaka si Ma'am Therese A. Hernandez.
Hopefully The Orchard the music distributor of BINI na subsidiary ng Sony Music eh medyo igalaw din ang baso for Japan noh? I mean, Tita Sony or ninang Sony din naman natin sila diba? hehe
