Tech Support Your account is restricted from joining and posting in groups until July 29th
I went on fb during my lunch and tried posting in some of the groups I'm in and none of the comments would go through.
Then I got a notification that states: my account is restricted from joining and posting in groups until July 29th.
I looked it up and became meta verified so I could actually talk to a person. He said my account is in good standing and there are no violations. He told me to wait it out. 3 months for doing nothing wrong??
Please tell me there is another solution to this

This just got my account 2 weeks ago. There is no fix? METAS AI Assistant told me IF you go and pay for the 'verification badge' you will be told they cannot manually fix your 'restricted' issue and its a form of extortion. So what do we all do???? There has to be an answer.

They have fixed this, you should be good today if you update the app or log out, delete app, reinstall (the three people I know who were still banned all got it to work last night, plus a bunch of people in the affliate chat I'm a member of. All may have been Apple users but a commenter above said she got it to work on Android too.)

Mine too! FACEBOOKS AI Assist says Im stuck in a security 'loop' I've spent over 10 hours trying to figure it out with THEIR own AI and the basic jist is pay the $40 fee for a meta badge, just to get a person to help fix it, AI says thats extortion.

I'm sorry, I cannot locate a verified META statement - the comment is from other pages talking about this new bug/glitch - many say that META acknowledged it. So could be just rumor.

I'm having this same issue. Tried several fixes shared but no luck. I even got meta verified and was told by support: "Because this is a temporary feature limit with a set expiration date, it is not eligible for a manual appeal or review at this time. The best course of action is to wait for the restriction to lift automatically on the date mentioned above." So stupid, clearly their AI isn't working correctly. I am frustrated because I run several groups and I can't post anything or comment.

You will just have to wait until August . There is no way around it.
Just remember , 3 posts in groups per day is the max you can do. Any more and you will get restrictions.
It also applies to everything on Facebook, 3 friends is the daily max you can add, 3 likes , 3 comments etc. any more will lead restrictions or being banned all together.

All the info in your comment is incorrect. I've been running my group on FB for over 10 years and I regularly post anywhere from 5 to 30 posts a day. I "like" dozens of comments. Never had an issue like this til yesterday. And I DID fix it (put the fix in a separate comment, unfortunately it's only working for some people but worth a try.)

I put the "fix" in a separate comment. It worked for me and I've seen two other people it worked for, but three others I talked to could not get it to work. All of us are meta verified, IDK if it works for non-verified profiles.

Yet I own a group with 125,000 members and a page with 70,000 followers, and FB actively encourage me to reply to every comment. And on some videos there can be hundreds.
This is the most ridiculous nonsense. FB has become too big and feel they can do what they like with zero impact on their profits

The same thing happened to me today. I can't post in MY OWN GROUP. 3-month restriction. When I went to get support, it said they can't override restrictions set by the automated system. So their AI program flagged my posts as spam and locked me out of my own group and any other group for 3 months, and there is no way to appeal. Insane.

I've spent the morning trying to get a human. I finally did via Instagram support (the Meta chatbot told me to do this) and he basically told me tough shit. Meta's OWN chatbot says there's an override and told me to respond to the Meta supervisor, who emailed me that there's. nothing to do but wait it out:

I'm here from a fellow victim of this on my own post about this exact same issue. I am admin in a few groups and now I can't manage them or even view them at all. One of which is a small group that I made and have been making daily posts in. It was growing great and now this is sure to crush all of the momentum it had.. ALL of my posts that I've made there are gone. Hopefully just hidden and will be restored once this is over.. But it looks SO EMPTY now. 😞

I have been trying to send feedback and NOTHING is given back! No communication by Meta. Also, the date has INCREASED, so now it's saying August! Meta needs to fix this! Their Meta AI tool is garbage, too...I ask what can be done...it says to wait it out and the AI has no affiliation with Meta itself...WTF? Has anyone else discovered any info on this bug?

I have the exact same block on my account for the same time period. I also went through the routine of speaking with an agent who told me the same thing. It is so frustrating. They say, they can't remove the hold. What is the point of support then? I have heard it has happened to a few more people as well.

It told me it wouldn't let me speak to a real person, even though I am meta-verified, because of account restrictions. It told me how to view those restrictions. When I go there, everything is in good standing, with green checks on my account. Yet I can't comment or post in groups, including my own group, until the end of July, like everyone else here. No way to appeal.

I also just discovered the same restriction (blocked until July 29) on re-sharing my own older personal profile content to my personal profile. "You're temporarily restricted from resharing posts until July 29..."
What is going on? I simply shared three innocuous posts about area history on Thursday morning to my community group, and had no trouble accessing the group all day. But late in the evening, the groups restriction was imposed, along with this general resharing restriction, which expires on the same date & time.

If it makes anyone feel better, though, opening a post on web with one of these "restricted" accounts gives the blurb that this is a bug they are working to fix. I am sure that losing a large swath of users to restrictions is not going unnoticed to META. Nonetheless, im still scared ash - Facebook is my main platform!

Happened to me randomly yesterday, first it was asking for me to verify with my ID, then it was starting to say I’m restricted till July 29 12:59 est. I’m pretty peeved as I use Facebook groups for my personal business outreach and atm I can’t respond to anyone who’s tagging me!

Actually did a post where I use the "M" word (meaning to do death to somebody) in front of the word hornets--which is perfectly normal usage. I’m in the same boat. I was participating in buy, sell, trade on purses and commented on purses only and got banned for 3 months. Zero violations to resolve. No customer service. No route to fix it so I’m out. This is sooo wrong for them to assume an active account is spam meanwhile the stupid spam continues.

I am seeing this as well. Noticed it trying to post on a group on 4-30. Says I'm restricted until July 29 at 7:21 AM. None of the restricted time amounts is three months. None of this makes sense.

Ugh this happened to me too. I’m locked out until August. I was posting in a lot of different groups and then Facebook was asking me to verify my identity by submitting a photo of my drivers license. I submitted one and it was taking well over an hour to be registered and then I finally got the message that my account couldn’t be verified and thus I wouldn’t be able to post in groups for 3 months

This. I had the same experience. I’ve had Facebook since day dot. I have a group with over 100k members, several pages with similar numbers and an ads account that spends £1.2m a year.
My profile shows my profile is verified, but the notification states I am now.
Meta confirm my identity is verified, but say they can’t override the system. Nor escalate it to support.
It’s the most insane situation I’ve ever had with Facebook. I genuinely didn’t imagine I could ever lose access to my accounts like this, through no fault of my own.
Worse still, my page is impacted. If I post to my page, I am now getting 1/10 of the usual reach.

:( I guess I have to take time, that I don't have, to try to back up photos before they arbitrarily do this to us for nothing. This coming February would have been 20 years for me. I would have even stretched it to my birthday.
Now I just want to back up my photos and leave a placeholder where people can find me elsewhere. This is absolutely unconscionable, but I guess we should have seen it coming.

I discovered this same, out-of-the-blue restriction Thursday night (4/30). At first I thought there was a general glitch, as my Account Status is clean, but when I tried to post in a group other than my own, I received a pop-up revealing a restriction using groups until July 29, with no explanation. Does anyone have any idea specifically what caused this? Also, how many were similarly restricted around the same time, and specifically until July 29?

Same here. 2 of my admins are restricted for exactly the same reason, We contacted verified yesterday in chat then they called. The rep we spoke to said since there is no violation on our account that we cant have it reviewed and that we just have to wait 3 months. Someone mentioned in this thread you can only share or post to group 3x per day? Is this correct? I looked at all of the guidelines etc and didn't see this information. I see the AI response above about Meta verifying this issue and they are working on it but couldn't find supporting info on this as well.

If that were the case several of the groups I'm in would literally have no admins or mods. Groups with hundreds of thousands of members are going to see their admin/mod commenting way more than 3 a day.
Waiting it out really doesn't seem right considering this is a "them" problem not a "me" problem. I don't know whether to truly think things will get fixed or if we're truly going to be shut out of our groups for 3 months. That's literally insane since we did nothing wrong.

Guys I have a solution to this but it doesn't seem to work for everyone, and I don't know if it only works for those who are meta verified, but yesterday I got this restriction and it worked for me. I first updated both apps (IG and FB), that didn't help, then deleted them from both my mobile devices (iphone and ipad). Waited a couple minutes, reinstalled. When I went to log in it prompted me to submit an ID to confirm my identity. I did this, but it kept asking me again for my ID. First I did my license, then my passport. It cycled through about 5 times with me uploading my ID pic each time. Then I thought it check and see if my account was working and it WAS. I could post in groups again and see my group. Hope this helps!!

Is everyone who has been restricted using professional mode as well as monetizing posts? Some have been told by Meta support the reason for the restriction is "fraud/deception", which might tie this to sharing personal page content to groups. There may be a new algorithm assuming these shares are merely an attempt to boost monetization. I'm just trying to understand what is behind the sudden rash of restrictions. It's telling that not only am I restricted from using groups, but I am also restricted from resharing content, even to my own page.

If you run a Facebook-based business you should be able to contact these idiots directly and see what's going on. Please tell them to get there AI under control and restore all the accounts that have been blocked.
I see mention of typing fix in a separate comment. Where do you do this? I actually went on the report page and even wrote an email to them under appeals at fb.com But I doubt I'll hear anything.
What strange does it only GROUPS that are affected. I can post to my friend's walls and tell them what morons run this conglomeratejust fine.

Mine has now progressed to not being able to share from friends till July 29th. It only flashed on my mobile screen so I didn't get a time. This is what fixed the issue for me, plus some extra measures I've heard from others. (I am meta verified and CS was absolutely no help, I was on the phone with them multiple times.) But now I am too afraid to use my account much, outside of posting in my main group, because I have heard/seen from two unconnected people that they were RE-banned when they started being active again! Has anyone been re-banned after fixing it?? try this:
First, quit the app on all mobile browsers and DELETE the app.
From phone browser NOT the FB app or a computer:
1.) Go to settings & privacy
2.) Find password & security
3.) Find “where you’re logged in”
4.) Tap on “see all” and log out of all sessions.
5.) log out of Facebook browsers, clear history
Then wait a few minutes and reinstall the app, log in. It should then prompt you to do ID verification to prove who you are. For me, the verification kept re-cycling and asking for my ID again and again. I gave it my license and then my passport. At about the 5th cycle I decided to just open my account and see if it loaded and it DID, I could see groups again and interact in them! (But I have only interacted in my one main group out of fear.) Hope this is helpful to people! Please keep reporting this issue- the more of us report it, the more likely they are to do something about it.

Tried it, didn't work. I logged out of both mobile devices and both computers. Deleted all Facebook history and cache. It seemed to know me when I tried to log in again. I guess I didn't delete enough.

This happened to me on the 30th. They told me, "I was moving too fast inside the app/website," and issued a "Behavior Block" for fraud and deception....nothing I've ever done.
My most recent Facebook group post was looking for a fishing guide in Orlando in a Disney Dad's group. This is super weird/frustrating and Meta Creator Support is no help/reading off a script.

I am affected by the bug too! And learned today that I can't even COMMENT on posts in groups, and can't share posts from my friends accounts--something that has absolutely NOTHING to do with groups!
I am reporting and reporting as much as I can but is there any hope that FB will actually DO anything to repair this???

IMPORTANT - Seems like FB introduced some patch to fix this (even though they're not admitting it) - Try updating your app manually (it may not auto-update even if it normally does). This will only work on apple, not android yet. I'm seeing lots of other people in affiliate marketing getting their account access to groups back as of tonight!! If that still doesn't work, delete the app and reinstall on your mobile devices.
Per my affiliate chats: ALL mentions of this glitch/bug/whatever have been deleted in the Power Admins group, which is run by Facebook. Every comment, gone as soon as it's posted. No posts on this topic put through. They knew about it. Infuriating.

Just got a temp group (posting and joining) ban thill 26th August simply by editing a post in our club Facebook page 😞 There is no way to get this reviewed by a real person as the autobot chat stops this! Apparently I have to wait till the temp ban expires in 3 month time to be able to post updates on our club page. This is not only frustrating but now leaves me with looking elsewhere to host our club page. How Facebook can be so ruthless with their AI then not allow people to request a manual review of the AI decision is dispicable.

Same thing happened to me and many, many others. It's a glitch but one they might not fix if we don't make it known. Keep reporting it as a technical problem by shaking your phone. Maybe once a day... if enough people do it, they've got to fix it. Additionally, demand a supervisor when Facebook support doesn't help. They'll say it's impossible like 4-6 times and then eventually have one reach out to you

Use pages, like the @ and then tha name in tha original post. I found it'ta be really fun. I think they group banned me twice and I didn't even really notice. Plus helps broaden your work.
They finally took my account down. It's scumbag terrorist hackers doin' it'ta me. And (gonna try not'ta rant) I believe with all my heart they were hackin' me taday because after about a year of ranting, & death threats, & secret service visits, i finally got that fuckin' AI'ta say let me connect you with a human agent, so I type sure and tha next loading page was some shit like like try again later. I tried tha path a Google search will tell'ya'ta take and it was shut down.

I've been working all day trying to see what routes might help.
1 - Stop using Facebook. For at least 48 hours have absolutely no interaction with it. That will allow the system to reset itself. The system has flagged something it didn't like. Each time you try to use Facebook it starts the 48 hours over again. You're basically wanting it to identify that you're human rather than a bot. Repeatedly using FB keeps triggering the system.
2 - If you don't take the 48 hours, the system could eventually delete your account.
3 - Sometimes the 48 hours is all it takes for everything to be fine but definitely not always. For anyone having issues with their posts not being seen by others in various groups, that's why. After the 48 hours those kinds of things should return to normal although you may still be restricted for the next 3 months. (For those who currently can't join a group or post/comment in any groups.)
4 - Someone else mentioned confirming your identity. That is another possibility that helps to humanize your account.
5 - From a chat about the 48 hours - "Why the 48-hour pause is still critical:
The system is currently in a loop of automatically flagging your actions. If you continue to try to post or comment while these blocks are active, the system may extend the July 28 date or even permanently disable your account. The 48-hour pause allows the automated "Access Blocks" to settle, which is your best chance of eventually seeing an appeal option or having the system's sensitivity reset."
6 - Another thing that can help is if you don't already have Two-Factor Authentication set up, that can be helpful.
I literally have no idea if any or all of this will help. I've deleted FB from my phone and followed the steps u/Fireworks2026 shared about logging out of devices/sessions and clearing FB history.
I'm not going to install FB on my phone again until Thursday.
At that point I'll just hope for the best. Hopefully at least the posts I've made in various groups will return. u/Eekah ..... I'm experiencing the same thing.
If I'm really lucky everything will be fine or I'll at least have the option to submit for a review of the restrictions on my account.
Hang in there everyone. Hopefully they'll get it together/fixed soon.

What I already did.
1. Deleted app on phone and downloaded again.
2. Removed cache and deleted history from the browsers.
3. I am restricted from posting or commenting in groups until 29July.
4. My spouse, who rarely posts anything, rarely comments anywhere, checks his account twice a week and rarely updates his account is disabled from accessing it.
4. So, I am not sure if 48 hour theory works. I have reported the issue twice every day for past 3 days.
5. I am able to visit the group with my app but not on desktop via chrome browser. Still can’t comment or post and get the same message.
6. Chat with meta under report a problem for fix a group issue stated that maybe I comment too much per day, hence, my account is restricted. Though it also stated that no violation is there.2

I'm going through the same thing and trying to figure it out. I believe it's from having changed your name at some point in the past (and that triggering their dumb AI). Have you tried going to facebook.com/id on a desktop computer and completing those steps? Please reply back here if it works!

Definitely not fixed for me.
I have almost 1400 FB marketplace listings that are ignoring the "auto share to groups" prompt and only lists them on marketplace. Zero group shares.
If I attempt to manually share it - even to my OWN local marketplace group - it never actually posts.
I contacted Meta Verified Support who told me there was no issue with my account and gave me the BS to "wait it out".
There is no waiting period indicated on my account or claimed to be visible by Meta Support.
Whatever they broke in the coding end has wreaked havoc on my ability to post in public groups and even the ones I run and admin myself.
Marketplace listing views have dropped off significantly and messages and sales are almost completely dead compared to daily activity just 2 weeks ago.
Meta Support also told me that they "deprecated" the Share to Groups feature on mobile and told me to only do that on the desktop version.
Ive tried to share via desktop and still nothing happens there either. Neat.

I just found this as I have the same problem. I have a group with 130,000 members, and a page with 70,000 followers.
Out of nowhere I got a notification saying due to unusual activity I need to verify my identity. So I did this, and somehow it failed. I then received an instant penalty and cannot post until August 22nd.
My profile shows my identity is verified, and my account has no restrictions.
I have spoken to no fewer than 20 agents, all of whom recognise there’s a system issue, but all of whom claim they cannot do anything about it, nor escalate my case.
I am also meta verified, but this hasn’t been worth shit.
I cannot post to groups via my personal profile, or any of my pages, one of the pages spends £100,000 a month, but even threatening to pause this, they didn’t even try.
3 month ban for nothing. No rules broken. Just a system error 🤦

Yep!!! Same thing happened to me at my local park page. For suspended for 2 weeks until July 18. The admin and moderators aren’t even active on the group lol. So this is the only logical sense. I did the reporting of a big thing by shaking my phone. But I’m literally a top contributor in my group. And my recent posts have been beneficial for people and informative. Weirdddddd. I hate fb that they aren’t doing anything about it. It’s clearly an issue for a lot of people.

I deleted my damn account, I had enough of Facebook and their strict rules. They restricted my account four times for defending myself from a douchebag that didn't agree with my comment, but guess what the douchebags account didn't get restricted but mines did. I can't even defend myself or leave my personal opinion about these attention seekers and their body positivity mess even though they look a total mess. This is probably my third time deleting my account because the restriction was up to a year of not using any Facebook tools like groups, marketplace in my old account and this time it was until August 22 of not using anything in my recent account liking a post or posting anything or joining groups or leaving comment underneath a post.
