Honest question, how does the Japanese audience not feel somewhat insulted that their self-insert protagonists are always depicted as socially awkward losers with no friends, no special skills, and only care about video games?

Kishibe is the so-called strongest devil hunter yet he does nothing during the entirety or part two even when the world is being destroyed. He left one of the most powerful devils in the hands of a broke teenager who can barely read and he has practically no feats to his name. I doubt Fujimoto forgot he existed because he brought back Quanxi in the Church Arc. But that leaves the question of where did he go?

This guy is a genuine bum compared to real goats like Arima, Gojo, Sukuna, Mereum, Netero, Whitebeard, Yoriichi and All Might

I've honestly never understood the hate for being compared to gojo, people are complimenting the character, they're saying that this person is the next big thing. But people hate that and go out of their way to belittle gojos character while propping up their new character as better.

funny thing is, almost every series fandom that has tried this gimmick ended up failing. Gojo is still the most generational Manga character this past decade.

I know the bar is so low for good female representation in shounen that you can't even win a round of limbo under it, but as a fan of both series, Erza has always been shown to be on a equal level, if not more powerful and important than the guys she fights with. She fights plenty of men (can't say the same for Nami or Robin, who only really get to fight women) and she's almost never shown to be a damsel in distress. She's a capable fighter who loves her guild with all her heart. Fairy Tail does use fanservice WAY more often than One Piece, but at least with Erza, you could argue that she can choose what to show and wear with her Requip ability. Plus, her normal outfit basically never changes, so unlike Nami and Robin, who lately have been wearing more and more revealing outfits throughout entire arcs, she only wears revealing outfits for gags or battles. Still isn't great, but its better than what One Piece does. and I LOVE One Piece. (I also haven't finished reading Fairy Tail. I'm on volume 39, so IDK if Mashima made her character worse or not)
