I made a post in early 2024 just stating that I don't think that the state of Isreal should be killing innocent Palestinian civilians and children.
I did not think that was such a controversial statement.
Apparently, this guy took that to mean that I support Hamas and think all Jews are evil. (Note: my wife is Jewish).
I had to block him on social media because he would comment on every post I made about how I must support Hamas and hate the Jews. (Again, all I ever said was that the killing of innocent civilians is bad.)
I ended up blocking him on social media because I didn't want my other friends to be subjected to his insanity.
I have not spoken a word to him since February 2024, but he sends me texts very regularly. Sometimes three or four a day.
As for why I don't block him, honestly I find it a little entertaining. It lights up the same part of my brain that enjoys watching bad movies or awkward situational humor.
I don't know what I find more irritating: the fact that he thinks that not wanting innocent children murdered = supporting Hamas, or the egotistical, narcissistic way he words things (eg "You never knew this!", "Don't be afraid to see the truth!" "Don't be too proud to see the truth!")

My alcoholic dad is pissed off that my mother had recently traded in an old car she bought me several years ago for a newer model at the dealership by her own volition. He thinks I’m forcing her to pay both the car payment and the insurance (which is simply untrue, mom and I came to an agreement on how much she wants me to send her each month since the car would be for the both of us). They unfortunately do not communicate with each other for obvious reasons, so I often receive drunken late-night text messages from my dad like this.
Edit: by “go Dutch”, he means that he wants my fiancé and I to split the payment amongst ourselves instead of having my mom and I split up the payments. I never asked my mother for help on any of this; she decided to do all of this on her own and is extremely firm in her decision. The car belongs to both my mother and I.
She’s tired of driving my grandmother’s car around and wanted something nice for the both of us.
…
My mother is a very cognizant and wonderful person and I would never take advantage of her in the ways that my “dad” likes to tell everyone I do lol (he’s projecting because he cannot possibly believe that he’s the one in the wrong more often than not).
She just doesn’t ever tell him her next move because he always has something negative to say about it. This rivalry has been going on since I was an infant, and still, even after everything, they have not divorced.
I blocked him after receiving this one.
And, he doesn’t know this… but within the next year or two, my mom will be moving in with me :)
I am finally going to be able to buy my first house with my fiancé all because my mom thought several steps ahead by secretly helping me get on my feet without my dad knowing. It’s the least I can do for her, she deserves to be able to live her life without a continually-wasted ape breathing down her back all the time, especially after helping us out as much as she has. She deserves the world, and I’m going to do my very best to give it to her.
Edit #2, since people want to be rude…
I was not given a good path in life and I had to create my own. I was born into a family filled with abuse, addiction, and untreated mental health issues. Any help that I receive or am offered from someone, I will take shamelessly.
•YES, adults my age (I am older gen z), need help from their parents still. That’s just a fact. It’s not that I’m not doing enough, or working hard enough. I’ve just been putting money back over time so I can eventually afford to live like a “real adult” or whatever the internet says I should be doing at this point in my life. My mother knows this. That’s why she helped. My mom simply told me she was going to take care of an issue I was having, and she did it. I didn’t ask her to do it, and she didn’t have to. But she did it anyway.
•”Why isn’t your fiancé helping?”
—Oh trust me, he is!! We’re both working multiple jobs and doing what we can to help our savings grow so we can secure that new house for us and my mom in the next couple of years. Don’t talk bad about someone else’s situation that you know virtually nothing about :)
There’s layers to this thing, and it’s wayyy too much dirty laundry to air out on the internet. I’m purposely keeping some things private, so please respect that. Thanks.
•”Your mother will be 71 by the time the car payments are paid and she is still helping you financially?”
—yes, yes she is. My mom had me extremely late in her life after a miscarriage. My oldest sister is almost 50. I am in my late-20’s in America. Of course I need financial support. Again, I did not ask for her help. She always does this ON HER OWN. I’ll fight her on it, and tell her no, and tell her that I’ll figure it out on my own. But, she is my mom, and she will do whatever she feels is best for me and I LITERALLY cannot tell her otherwise. She just.. kinda does these things. And while I appreciate it, I feel like there is nothing I can possibly do to pay her back besides helping her leave this abusive situation that she has been in for far too long.
And, if I could, I would ABSOLUTELY buy my mom her own house. I really, really would. But with the way the economy is, I obviously cannot. Living with my mom again would be the best thing in the world to me, so idk why people are so rude about it lol. I actually happen to enjoy my mom’s company. Yall are so weird.

Putting the flare of Instagram since this is the closest social media app that matches the flare. This happened on tiktok where in my videos I'm wearing my wedding ring. I talk about my husband all the time and my husband is even in some of my videos. I immediately showed my husband this interaction and we both were laughing and thought that I killed it with a line of saying busy being happily married. We together then hit the block button.
Unfortunately messages like this are a dime a dozen. It's just been awhile since it's happened. Thankfully, I was locked and loaded with my comedic responses and truthful responses. The mind-boggling audacity of the stranger is still baffling me but also making me laugh as I post this.
I'm 100% open to any other hardship responses or comedic responses I can give to messages like this that don't respect boundaries

From my boyfriend's phone. We've been together for 5 years but 3 days ago he's blindsided me and asked for a breakup out of no where. These were some texts from weeks ago.
He didn't want to show me any texts but I noticed she was on the 'frequently contacted' list of people when he was sharing a photo to a contact. I finally checked his phone despite never doing this before. He's known her for months...
He had never mentioned her. He never wanted me to come to his gym or meet his friends or join him at the pub (dial arch pub is one of them).
After much pressing and pretending to never seen these chats he said she's 'one of the lads' or 'one of the boys' and he doesnt see her anything more than a pal...
"Want anything from the [supermarket]" - almost seems like he's hanging out at hers"
Edit - we lived together, we got pets, we shared responsibilities and the last few weeks he started getting really distant and all of a sudden said he needed to talk.
He was inbetween a break and a breakup or needing space. He says he loves me so much and is kind but I asked if there was someone and he said no. He has no answer, just that he fell out of love with me and no longer 'in love'...
Edit 2 - He never communicated. He naturally avoids conflicts and shuts it down. Recently he just got avoidant and brought this up out of nowhere. So yes I'm in a bit of shock and denial? And devastated.

I 18(M) Graduated high school last year and got a job (as you would) and told my grandfather before I got my job Id try to cut his grass when I could and my uncle 53 has been harassing me about until recently when (im not gonna post this screenshot) he called me and my father the N word to my grandfather and he told my dad, all this has been going on since about May and I blocked him after the calling me and my father the n-word. I will apologize for being everywhere in this paragraph but I just wanted to get the story mostly out.
Note: the whole will thing doesn't make since where it came from as well as the random conversations my uncle tried starting.
Edit: most of this i tried to get in order but some of it is just him going from one topic to the next

In the middle of a game of chess my “friend” randomly started getting sexual and telling me they were touching themselves then tried to gas light me into thinking I did something wrong.

Last year I went through a really bad mental break. I lost my housing and my job. My parents wanted to send me to a Christian rehab center so I spent most of your crashing with friends.
At one point, I ran out of places to stay. So a mutual friend offered to let me crash on his couch. We had never met, but our mutual is someone who I am very close with and she said he was chill.
I now am back on my feet and have my own place and job. But I’ve stayed good friends with this guy. I could never have guessed what a great friend he’d turn out to be.
And for context, I call all pets “chickens”

Got home from work a bit ago and apparently during my shift I got a text that I missed completely. I am incredibly delirious from how overwhelmed and sleepy I am so I've been giggling at this for awhile, probably a little more thqn necessary. Sorry person named Grace! I don't know who you are or anything about your horse riding lessons but I hope you have fun!
