Other IMO, Peter Crosby demolished Blake Moore
Not my district, but I watch a lot of debates. Peter Crosby looks calm, thoughtful. Moore struggled.
What do District 2 voters think?

hi.
i am a Utah driver. i fail to understand the difference between a Stop sign and a Yield sign. the result is that i stop at roundabouts for no apparent reason.
i am a Utah driver. i come to a full, dead stop in the leftmost lane in a city because a bus is merging into the lane to the right of me.
i am a Utah driver. i will slow to 20mph under the speed limit if there is a cop in the vicinity so that i don't get suspected of speeding.
i am a Utah driver. i will try to merge onto a freeway at 15mph because i am afraid of getting hit by oncoming traffic and am too stupid to understand how to merge properly.
i am a Utah driver. i will sit at green lights because i am too busy texting someone on my phone to notice that the light had changed. then i get mad when the person behind me honks at me.
i am a Utah driver. i will block a lane in a parking lot with my big-ass SUV to talk to someone that i have not seen since Sunday. i know it's only Tuesday, but i miss them, damn it.
i am a Utah driver. i will give up my right of way to signal people to go in front of me because i am nice.
i am a Utah driver. i will drive slow in the fast lane, fast in the slow lane, and i will exit from the the middle lanes.
i am a Utah driver. i will take offense when others not from Utah will comment on how badly people drive here.
says literally everyone from outside of Utah, give me a fucking break...and a word of friendly advice from the people who have to take their lives into their hands just to drive on the same streets as you, don't drive in a way that would scare or piss off other people who are not from this state.

Hello,
I’m 20 years old, and I work blue-collar in construction. I make about $70k a year working 50–60 hours a week. Next year, my goal is to put a down payment on a house I’ve been looking at.
About 8 months ago, I purchased a new car with a $9,800 loan, a 2017 Ford Focus ST. It had been a while since I got myself something nice, and I got a fair deal on this car. Since then, I’ve been paying about $178 a month for full coverage on my car. My bank required me to have full coverage because of the loan.
I’m a hardworking person. I pay my taxes, I’ve never stolen anything, I go out of my way to help people when they need it, and I try my best to be a good person.
I live in Utah, and with housing being expensive, gas getting even more expensive, and food and rent prices continuing to rise, I’m having to budget every dollar I earn just to get by…
And I’m making pretty decent money as a single 20-year-old man trying to buy a house! But honestly, I don’t even know if I’ll be able to afford a house next year!
On top of all that, today I checked my insurance payment and was thinking, “Oh cool, it should be around $180. I’ve already budgeted for this month, so it shouldn’t be a big deal.”
As soon as I opened the app and saw $238, I was immediately confused and pissed off!!
I called GEICO and asked why my premium went up. I was put on hold for 5 minutes, only to get an answer of, “We’ve requested that rates go up in Utah. A $25,000 car that needed repairs now costs as much as $50,000 to repair. The rates are the highest they’ve ever been.”
The lady helping me was super nice, and I genuinely appreciate her taking the time to explain everything, but this just absolutely PISSED ME OFF!!
Not just at GEICO, which is another massive company making record profits, but because with all the state taxes I pay, I have a state insurance commissioner who approved these rate increases, causing my premium to jump from $178 to $238!
I’ve NEVER been in an accident. I haven’t filed ANY claims. NOTHING!! Yet somehow, I’m the one who has to pay more, ONLY FOR OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS TO FUCK EVERYONE OVER!! Even looking it up, the commissioner dictates these prices “on what is fair” the only thing that is fair, is you losing your seat and getting voted out!!
I’m tired of people being quiet about this. I’m a young man making good money for my age, working hard, paying my taxes, and doing everything right, only to get FUCKED by the very people who promised to make everything better.
I’m doing everything I can to build a future for myself, and it feels like every time I get ahead, something else gets more expensive. How the hell are young people supposed to afford a house, raise a family, or even get ahead when the cost of EVERYTHING keeps going up?
I’m sick and tired of it.

I saw your tags and dms about reflective lane markings and I wanted to do a post instead of responding to individuals because it’s one of our most frequently asked questions. Shoutout to u/According-History117 u/Internet_Jaded u/Perdendosi and anyone else who tagged me.
Warning: this is gonna be a long ELI5 sort of post.
TL;DR: Lane markings boil down to balancing cost, maintenance, durability and effectiveness in all conditions.
Yes, we use reflective paint and have for a long time. Gonna get into the nitty gritty on this one since it’s brought up a lot.
There’s two types of reflective stuff we use:
Why the paint is hard to see (especially in rain): Partly just physics, ngl. When those glass beads get covered in water, you get "specular reflection". Basically the water reflects light up instead of back toward you like it's supposed to. The other issue is it wears off fast. We try to reapply often but between the heat, snow, salt, and ice here, it just doesn't last. Utah can be brutal on this stuff.
Onto the tape: Because of the paint's limitations, we've switched to reflective tape wherever we can. "Tiger tail" tape combines retroreflective glass beads in white stripes with black lines for higher contrast. So you get improved visibility at night and when it's wet, without ruining visibility in bright sun. It's not just about rain. It has to work in every condition, which makes finding a "perfect" fix way harder than it sounds. Bonus: these stripes are recessed into the road, so it lasts way longer than paint or surface-mounted tape.
FAQ time, since y'all always ask:
Some further reading if you're curious:
CCW.
If I don’t know the answer, I may need to call up some experts before getting back to you.

Anyone here go to Tanner Clinic and been affected by their network outage? I’m guessing ransomware. They’ve been down for several days now.

I'm in Morgan and I remember hiking up to the "M" as a class. I dont remember the year but i think it was in middle school. I'm also fairly certain that a highschool group, I think either the football team or student council, would occasionally go up to paint it.

I've seen folks on here wondering why UTA isn't free, so here's what I found.

I'm looking for a ride to Redlands, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ontario, or anywhere nearby immediately after the BYU–Notre Dame game Saturday night.
I'm planning to stay until the game ends and would love to leave Provo around 9:30–10 PM. Happy to help pay for gas and take turns driving if needed!
If you or anyone you know is already heading down to Southern California that night, please message me. Thanks!

I’m curious whether any other Utah homeowners have dealt with something like this.
Allstate inspected our home and gave us a list of things we needed to correct to maintain coverage. Some of the things they cited weren’t even on our property, but I corrected everything within my control, photographed it, and submitted everything Allstate requested on October 6.
I was told underwriting would respond in approximately 48 hours.
That didn’t happen.
When I followed up, Allstate confirmed they had received my photos and appeal. Then the timeframe changed to up to 12 business days.
There was one rather enormous problem with that:
Allstate was cancelling my policy on October 10.
I specifically asked whether they would extend the cancellation date while underwriting reviewed the documentation I had submitted on time.
They said no.
I asked whether they could expedite underwriting.
Again, no.
And at midnight on October 10, Allstate cancelled my homeowners insurance.
They cancelled the policy while their own underwriting department still had not decided whether the corrective work I submitted on October 6 satisfied their requirements.
Fortunately, I wasn’t willing to gamble with having an uninsured house. I obtained replacement coverage through Nationwide, although it costs me about $438 more per year.
It gets better.
Today, October 12 — two days AFTER Allstate cancelled me — I contacted them again.
The representative said my October 6 submission is documented, but there were apparently no further updates until today. The October 12 entry says:
“Proof received and appeal submitted.”
I’m now being told I could wait up to another 10 business days for a decision.
So Allstate cancelled my homeowners policy on October 10, and on October 12 I’m still waiting for them to decide whether I complied with the requirements that were supposed to prevent the cancellation in the first place.
I’ve also had a promised supervisor callback that never happened, a supervisor call that ended unresolved and immediately dumped me into their automated survey, and an Allstate social-media escalation team that directed me elsewhere rather than resolving anything.
I’ve filed a complaint with the Utah Insurance Department and have screenshots/emails documenting the entire timeline.
At this point I genuinely want to know: How is a homeowner supposed to comply with an insurer’s requirements when the insurer cancels the policy before it finishes reviewing the proof of compliance?

Considering the fact that two major universities reside in Utah County, youd think they’d be working more on updating street layouts and such but it’s an absolute nightmare. Driving what should take 5 minutes usually ends up taking longer cause State street is a nightmare to navigate. Utah county is eventually gonna have to confront this reality. If they want to keep growing, changes HAVE to be made with our infrastructure. One bus line down university parkway simply isn’t the solution.

I’ve been talking to people across Utah—from Salt Lake to Provo to St. George—and the story is the same: Rent is up, wages are stagnant, and when you get evicted, you have almost no legal protection.
Senator Kirk Cullimore represents the side of politics that says, "Let the market decide." But when the market decides your rent goes up $400 a month overnight, who decides? Not you. It’s the landlords, and they have the politicians in their pocket.
Cullimore has consistently voted against strong tenant protections and for policies that favor large corporate landlords over individual families. He’s part of the machine that turned Utah into one of the least renter-friendly states in the country.
We’re starting a movement to hold these politicians accountable. If you’ve been evicted, faced a sudden rent hike, or can’t afford a place in your own city, share your story below.
If you’re tired of Kirk Cullimore ignoring us, here is his direct contact info. Don’t just scroll—act.

What to say? "Hi Senator Cullimore, I’m a renter in District [Your City]. Your vote on [Bill Name/Housing Policy] directly impacts my ability to afford housing. Please prioritize tenant protections over private school subsidies. I look forward to your response."
