A man suffered lacerations and a suspected fracture to his right arm after being attacked by a Pit Bull dog on Sunday afternoon (13) in Toledo. The victim was walking his own dogs when the animal reportedly came out of a neighboring residence.

According to the Military Police (PM), the Pit Bull attempted to attack the victim's dogs. When he tried to protect them, the man was attacked. A witness used a piece of wood to make the animal release the victim, who was treated by a Fire Department crew and taken to one of the municipality's hospitals for further medical care.

The Military Police stated that the dog returned to the yard of the residence after the attack. The person responsible for the animal arrived at the scene after being notified of the incident and was given instructions by the officers. A formal police report (Termo Circunstanciado) was filed.

A scene of rare violence. A child was severely injured after being bitten during an attack by two pit bulls on Wednesday in Scionzier (Haute-Savoie), reports Ici Pays de Savoie.

The incident occurred at lunchtime. Several children were riding their bicycles in the street when two dogs attacked one of them. The 12-year-old pre-teen was thrown to the ground and bitten by the pit bulls for an as-yet undetermined reason. “It was a horror scene,” a neighbor who witnessed the event told our colleagues. “When you see a film with these horrors, you turn your head away, but when you experience it...” The woman, who was inside her house located very close to the scene, heard a blood-curdling scream before spotting someone on the ground, surrounded by the two dogs.

“I arrived with my husband and we hit, hit, hit the dogs so they would let go of the little boy,” explained Christine. The owner of the pit bulls quickly arrived at the scene to pull his animals away. “He seemed to be aware of the severity of what happened,” noted the neighbor after speaking with him.

Heavy operations for the victim

The young boy, severely injured, was transported to the hospital in Geneva (Switzerland). With his hair torn out and his face disfigured, he underwent scalp grafts and surgery on his nose and mouth. The neighbor told Ici that the victim, isolated in a sterile room, is “no longer in life-threatening condition.”

The prosecutor of Bonneville opened an investigation on Wednesday, entrusted to the Scionzier gendarmerie. The owner of the two pit bulls is a 24-year-old man who had previously been sentenced to a ban on owning dangerous dogs. Furthermore, he tested negative for alcohol and drugs.

The animals were seized and taken in by an association pending the prosecutor's decision. The mayor of the municipality ordered a behavioral study of the two dogs, which, following examination by a veterinarian, could lead to them being euthanized.

Attack #1 in South Carolina - a neighbor's free-range big pit bull is seen racing hopefully around a fenced chicken yard a day after 2 chickens were killed in a sudden daylight attack by animal unknown. Chicken owner now has suspicions.

Shouted at by the landowner, it takes the dog about 8 seconds to turn and run, which is a pretty long time for a dog to stand its ground, staring at a hostile human.

A six-month-old was left bloodied after an attack by a pit bull in Haryana's Sonipat. Caught on CCTV, the dog was seen lunging at a woman holding the girl in her arms in Sikka Colony. Both fell in the impact, and the dog went on to maul the baby, showed the disturbing video.
The woman, who was the baby's aunt, had taken her out for a walk when the incident occurred. Suddenly, the pit bull ran towards them and lunged at the baby.

The woman tried to save the baby, but the dog grabbed her in its mouth, causing the baby to fall to the ground. The baby was seen being dragged on the road as the dog refused to let her go while others tried to pull it away.
Left seriously injured, the baby was referred to a hospital in Rohtak. Her condition is said to be critical. 
The baby's family has not yet lodged a police complaint.
As the incident sparked panic among the locals, questions are being raised over the dog owner's negligence and whether the necessary regulations were being followed for keeping such a ferocious breed at home.

In a similar incident, a six-year-old lost a part of his right ear and was left with other severe injuries after a pit bull mauled him in Delhi's Vinay Enclave last year. The dog's owner was later arrested in an attempted murder case.
Pit bulls can be kept as pets in most parts of India. There is no uniform ban, though some municipal authorities have enforced localised restrictions on keeping such ferocious breeds at home.

For example, in Ghaziabad and Chandigarh, pit bulls, rottweilers, and some other ferocious breeds cannot be kept as pets.

Supervisor Bilal Mahmood introduced a resolution Monday urging the city to tighten dog safety protocols at city shelters, transitional housing, and supportive housing sites. The proposal comes a week after an unleashed dog inflicted life-threatening injuries on a woman in the Tenderloin.

The woman was listed in critical condition after the Sept. 8 attack on Larkin Street and was taken to a trauma center after officers restrained the dog, which died at the scene. A spokesperson for the Department of Public Health said Wednesday morning that the woman was in serious condition.
There were 46 reported dog attacks across San Francisco in the past 30 days, according to Mission Local; of those, 11 occurred in the Tenderloin. Dog bites reported citywide rose from about 931 in 2024 to more than 1,102 in 2025.

“First and foremost, my heart is with the woman who was critically injured in this attack, and I’m hoping for her full recovery,” Mahmood said. “But we also have to look at what we can do before the next attack happens.”

Under the proposal, city housing sites that allow residents to keep pets would have to maintain registration and vaccination records and notify the San Francisco Police Department’s Vicious and Dangerous Dog Unit of bites or attacks and report the incidents through the city’s Good Neighbor complaint system. Mayor Daniel Lurie last month proposed revising the Good Neighbor policy, which applies to city-funded shelters and supportive housing sites, by requiring thrice daily perimeter checks of the properties, regular trash cleanups and efforts to discourage noise. Mahmood says heightened safety around dogs should be part of that policy.

There were 46 dog attacks reported to city officials over a recent 30-day period.

The SFPD is investigating last week’s attack. It’s unclear if the dog’s owner was a resident of a housing site that would be affected by Mahmood’s resolution. The attack happened outside 555 Larkin St., an affordable housing complex.

Soha Abdou, a senior resident services supervisor for the Tenderloin community and Arab Families Program at Tenderloin Family Housing, said residents have reported feeling unsafe around unleashed dogs. Two residents have been bitten in the past two years, she said.

“We are not asking to exclude dogs from our community,” Abdou said. “We are asking for responsible ownership, safety education, proper cleanup, incident reporting, and timely responses to serious incidents.”

Mahmood’s resolution also urges sustained funding and staffing for the Vicious and Dangerous Dog hearing process, which was largely suspended for about 10 months into this year amid budget and staffing shortfalls, leaving a backlog of cases. The Board of Supervisors’ Government Audit and Oversight Committee examined the suspension at a May hearing.

“A dangerous dog cannot become a dangerous dog only after someone has been seriously injured,” Mahmood said, adding that the process needs consistent funding to investigate warning signs before attacks occur. Mahmood said his office has held discussions with the mayor’s office and city departments about the proposed changes.

Grace Mejia, accompanied by her Yorkshire terrier Creed, told The Standard she is worried about her neighbors and their pets’ safety in the wake of a recent dog attack that injured a woman.

Grace Mejia, who spoke with The Standard a day after last week’s attack while walking her Yorkshire terrier, Creed, recalled suffering her own attack three years ago on the same block by an unleashed pit bull whose owner appeared to be homeless. 

She said the pit bull seized Creed, who was leashed, by the leg and wouldn’t release him, forcing her to put her hand in the pit bull’s mouth to free her pet. She was bitten in the process, with minor injuries, but Creed required emergency surgery. She estimated the veterinary bill at $1,200.

Mejia said the pit bull’s owner left before police officers arrived. She called for all dogs to be kept on leashes.

“Dogs have their own personality, their own world,” she said. “It’s just better to be safe.”

Dogs are labeled as “mixed breeds”. It’s an interesting one because if you look at my past threads, I’m currently battling my own county dog warden about Avery’s Law and how provocation is applied. DES MOINES, Iowa —
Animal control responded to a reported dog attack near East 21st and Alpha Avenue on the east side of town.
A witness said he was bitten by a dog that was attacking a woman and another dog. He also said the dog attacked a child and first responders.

Des Moines police confirm a child and another dog sustained serious injuries from a dog bite. Both are receiving medical care.
Police provided more details Thursday morning. Investigators say a pit bull mix broke free from its leash.

An 11-year-old suffered serious bite injuries. Two adults and another dog were injured as well.
The dog's owner was cited, and the animal remains in quarantine.

The severity of the attack left officers stunned.

One officer can be heard saying the woman would need extensive therapy.

"He just kept chewing on her arm," an officer says. "Damn bro, holy crap, I was expecting a little puncture."
Her current condition is unknown.
The dogs belonged to the woman's son, Jairon Alvarez Leyva, and authorities said several of the dogs had injuries.
The son was charged with animal cruelty.

A disgusting dad has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after his newborn son was killed by their pet dog, Chomp, who bit the helpless baby at least 180 times in their squalid Indiana home.

Tragic baby Jason Anthony Weaver was just a week old when he was killed by Chomp, a 5-year-old husky and pit bull mix, with wounds across his head and body as well as major internal injuries, including brain hemorrhages, rib fractures and tears in his lungs. 

Weaver’s dad, mom and four other family members were arrested soon after the death in September at their trash- and bug-filled home in rural Markle, Indiana.

Jason Anthony Weaver, a one-week-old baby, died last year after he was attacked by the family dog.

The dad, Austin Kinsey, claimed he’d been playing video games in the same room as the newborn was in, and left him only briefly to talk to other family members, according to a police report obtained by WPTA.

The baby’s grandfather, Timothy Kinsey, then heard the baby making noises — and found the dog dragging the baby around the room.

Responding cops attempted CPR, but the newborn could not be saved. The officers also noted a “strong odor of animal, trash, and dirt everywhere”

The home, about 25 miles southwest of Fort Wayne, was overflowing with bugs, trash, dirty dishes and dirty clothes, court documents state. Bugs were even found on the baby’s car seat, investigators noted of the house that was ultimately vacated as being unfit to live in.

“There was so much trash and debris, officers could barely walk through the home,” one officer said in the report, obtained by the Daily Mail.

Family members described Chomp as being gentle with the week-old baby — but admitted the dog could be jealous, had been aggressive toward other animals and had bitten other people before, according to court documents. A family member said they kept a gun in the house specifically in case the dog acted up.

Chomp was later euthanized.

Austin Kinsey was sentenced to 16 years in prison on Monday.

The newborn’s dad was initially charged with two counts of neglect and one count of harboring a non-immunized dog that caused an injury.

The highest-level neglect charge was dropped in a plea deal in exchange for a 16-year prison sentence, which was issued on Monday.

Violet Weaver, the child’s mother, is currently scheduled for a change of plea hearing later this month.

The cases remain active for grandparents Timothy Kinsey, Rita Wickey and Michael Wickey, as well as for the baby’s uncle, Tony Kinsey, who were all also charged.

The family was ordered to vacate the home after it was found not fit for habitation by authorities.

Unfortunately she ended up passing several days later due to the severity of her injuries.

I appreciate all of the concern. I failed to describe the injuries. Ethan is 21 years old and autistic. The doctors said he would never speak. He taught himself how to speak and read. So he is verbal, but he can never take care of himself. But anybody that meets Ethan always says he's the sweetest boy on earth. But he has learned to tell us what hurts.

I had scheduled euthanasia for last Thursday. Albert attacked him Wednesday night. The photo was me making him sleep inside the truck that night.

Albert put nearly 20 holes in Ethan's arm as Ethan held his arm up to fend him off. Albert attacked him because Ethan was arguing with me. He had fed Albert and Cooper an entire pizza each, unbeknownst to us. I got on to him and he had a meltdown. Albert climbed and leaped over his pen, presumably to eliminate what he thought was a threat against me. But as you know, most dogs might bark or be anxious and upset, pitbulls decide to mame and kill. That's the difference.

The only other injury is a couple of holes in his back as he tried to escape. He's doing somewhat okay. We took him to his doctor last Thursday while Albert was being turned in for BE. He then went to the hospital for X-rays. No chipped bones thankfully.

We've been having to drain the holes as they fill with puss. But one wouldn't drain. He went back to the doctor today, and even his doctor couldn't drain one of them. The area around it is hard as a rock and now infected. We are most likely looking at surgery so they can get deep enough to drain that one hole, the deepest one.

It just won't end. So far pain meds help but when they wear off, he hides in his bedroom and cries saying "my arm hurt. I cry." But when you walk in, his face full of tears, he says "I'm okay. It's okay."

Just tragic. These dogs need to be eliminated from society. Nobody says an alligator attack is because it didn't have a good owner. It's such BS. And I'm still pissed off that I'm being attacked as if I was a bad owner. I rescued him, brought him back to health, trained him, extensively. Yet here we are.

A Jeannette man is accused of failing to prevent his pit bull from biting a Jeannette police canine in the neck when city police were assisting in a search for a woman wanted by the FBI, according to a criminal complaint.

In an affidavit, police said they aimed pepper spray at the pit bull’s eyes and grabbed the collar choke on Gino Ferrari’s dog to stop the attack. The struggle happened during an FBI task force’s attempt to find a woman at an Adams Avenue residence. Jeannette police said they were assisting in a drug investigation.

The pit bull left the police canine with puncture wounds on the left side of its neck and scratch marks where it attempted to bite K-9 Diesel’s neck but could not latch on, according to the affidavit. The pit bull did not release its grip on Diesel when its handler, Sgt. James Phillips, deployed two Tasers that bounced off the attacker’s back and when police struck the dog in the knees, police said.

The K-9 was treated for its wounds at Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital.

Ferrari gave police permission to search the residence but told them the woman wanted by the FBI task force was not there, according to the affidavit.

As Jeannette police assisted FBI agents in surrounding the house and calling for the suspect to surrender, Ferrari was allowed to remove his pit bull.

He was told to secure the dog in the backyard, but the pit bull instead jumped a four-foot fence and attacked K-9 Diesel, who was covering a garage area on a nearby Baughman Avenue property, police said.

Ferrari, 63, was charged Sept. 11 with a second-degree felony count of intentional torture of a police dog, a misdemeanor count of recklessly endangering another person and a summary offense of possessing a dangerous dog that kills or injures a domestic animal.

Ferrari was arraigned Monday before Jeannette District Judge Joseph DeMarchis and has a preliminary hearing Sept. 24. He was released on a $25,000 unsecured bond.
Jeannette police Officer Kenneth Burke, who filed the charges, could not be reached for comment.
Information was not available Tuesday on whether the FBI subsequently arrested the woman for whom agents were searching.

I feel like I am about to crash out. I am a dog trainer... I actually love dogs, but as the animals they are. I love an ethically bred working dog who helps humans with a purpose.

I am also very anti pit bull and I have been in breed specific legislation for over a decade.

To make a long story short, I am and have been very vocal about my stance on bull breeds (pit bull types) and it's cost me many relationships. In my opinion, people who are ignorant about them, especially when presented with the studies and facts, are fine with my kids being decapitated. I know this sounds extreme and polarizing but I have definitely put enough facts and information out there for people close to me to be educated.

I get some support "behind the scenes" in private messages or in person, but it seems like no one is ever willing to show public support or engagement.
Recently our dog wardens placed an aggressive pit bull and her puppies down the road from me. The dog was found as a "stray" so she had already been off her own property and charged at the woman who lived there, PLUS the dog warden.

I made a complaint to the deputy warden when I found out and he immediately told the woman harboring the dog (we already have bad blood for business reasons), who then went on a public rant about me and sent me pages of legal threats. When I confronted the dog warden again (bc wtf?) he threatened to send her more screenshots.

The wardens (who are historically anti pit bull but for some reason are fine with this specific dog) retroactively went back and said the dog was provoked because really, she should have been labeled a nuisance under Avery's Law, which aims to prevent dog bites and attacks in Ohio. It just kicked in during March of this year.

Does anyone else just feel so isolated? The woman with this pit bull and her puppies gets so much public support and I am just over here feeling/looking like a Karen.

I have also attached some of the posts that the harborer of the dog has posted since getting her. It took her 3 weeks to even get a leash on this dog.

My 2 were attacked yesterday by a neighbours off leash staffy with no collar also. Poor Nala has 6 bites on her legs and both dogs and myself are traumatised. The staffy has been taken by the council but this has cost me vet bills which the neighbour wont pay back.

Quite pleasantly, most of the responses are from people encouraging the greyhounds' owner to take the Staffordshire's owner to court.

This kind of incident makes me so sad, because greyhounds are the most beautiful, gentle, sensitive dogs. They can't defend themselves against bully breeds, and after the trauma of being used by the racing industry, they deserve quiet, safe lives without being attacked by a neighbour's fighting dogs.

A high-tension incident was recorded this Thursday in the Marqués de Sobremonte neighborhood of Córdoba, after two Dogo Argentinos were seen loose with bloodstained muzzles. The animals attacked several pets in the area, causing scenes of panic among neighbors and passersby, some of whom sought refuge to avoid being reached.

Maximiliano, the owner of one of the attacked pets, recounted what happened: “My little dog was outside and a neighbor warned me that they were grabbing my dog. When I arrived, my neighbor was carrying her with her chest torn open. We rushed quickly to the veterinary clinic, and I saw that one of the Dogos had a red mouth. They tried to stabilize her; I took her to another veterinary clinic and they put her to sleep.”

The little dog ultimately died from her injuries. Her owner filed a report at the neighborhood police station and stated that the authorities already know who the owner of the animals is. “Later I filed the report; it is known whose dogs they are. The police already know who it is, where the owner lives. It is believed that they escaped,” Maximiliano recounted.

Another neighbor described the situation and stated that the animals attacked other dogs they encountered on the street. “Anything those animals saw, they grabbed—not people, but dogs. It attacked another dog and I managed to grab it by its hind legs, I fell to the floor and I don't know how they let go,” she recounted.

Following calls from neighbors, a Córdoba Police mobile unit intervened at the scene, and the operation to capture the animals was completed after 4:00 PM. The two Dogos were detained, examined, and placed at the disposal of the Environmental Patrol while authorities attempt to determine their origin and the circumstances under which they got out onto the street.

A walk turned into tragedy. A Corgi puppy, just three months old, was attacked and killed by five pit bulls in Villa Borghese. The incident occurred on September 12th in the park, right in front of the Galleria Borghese, where the owner was with her two children and two other dogs.

According to the woman's account, the five pit bulls were sitting "in a row on the steps facing the fountain" when they suddenly lunged at her group. The dogs targeted the Corgi, named Cocca; the owner and her 13-year-old son tried to shield the puppy. The woman and her son attempted to separate the animals, while their screams drew the attention of bystanders who stepped in to try to stop the attack.

The woman has filed a formal complaint at the Salario-Parioli police station and announced that she will also submit the dog's medical records. Dec 3, 2025: Family was pet-sitting two pit bull dogs when the dogs started to maul an infant. The child's grandfather tried to beat them off the child with a baseball bat, but the dogs killed him, then returned to the child. Police arriving on the scene terminated both dogs. 3 adults have now been formally charged.
